Claudette Delaney was never what you would call a "busy bee", so when the day came to meet her new friend, she couldn't help but laugh at the irony. The day that Claudette met Beezle was the day everything became a hectic blur. Every aspect of her easy-going life was quickly turned around into a whirlwind of discovering her newfound abilities and responsibly all the while trying to keep up with school and a normal civilian life.
Claudette was never really late for school, but ever since meeting Beezle, her kwami, she had formed a bad habit of staying up late at night. Beezle usually insisted on patrolling every night to give Claudette a chance to become acquainted with her new persona. According to Beezle, you never knew when disaster was going to strike and the hero, Queen Bee, would be needed.
"But what about that Ladybug and Chat Noir?" she had asked that very morning. "I think they seem to be doing a pretty good job," she said around a mouthful of cereal and then a yawn. She had woken up later than usual and had to forgo her usual breakfast for a quicker option. "I wonder how they manage to do it though, surely behind the mask they have to be normal teenagers like me? I can barely handle running around all night dealing with petty criminals." She yawned again before grabbing her bag and heading out the door. Beezle only shrugged before flying to hide herself in her Miraculous holder's bag.
Claudette, as usual, made it to school before the first bell rang, signifying the start of class. Still, even though she was technically early, she was later than normal. She only had been able to read a few paragraphs out of her book before the bell rang and the school day began.
Everything began normally enough that morning, from Marinette running into the classroom after it had begun to the teacher scolding her again before continuing on. It wasn't even an interesting topic the teacher was talking about and soon Claudette found herself unable to keep her eyes open and she soon began to snooze.
It was only when a scream was heard she jolted awake. "What...?" She rubbed her eyes to get the sleep out of them and soon realized that her classmates were frantically rushing out of the classroom. Claudette in the confusion merely followed them outside into the hallway. By now she was awake and while her fellow students continued to scramble she ducked into an abandoned hallway.
"Well, I guess all those late night patrols were worth something now, huh?" Beezle remarked when she emerged from Claudette's sweater pocket. When had she gotten there...? Oh well, Claudette had more things to ponder about. Like how to stop this ghostly threat.
"You ready?" Beezle asked hastily.
Claudette had just gotten out the words, "Transform me- !" before Beezle was flying into her honey comb miraculous, turning her into the Queen Bee.
