Hello and welcome to "Age of Myth"

Nation Dump

On the subject of Magic, I'm still testing the water. What, if any, kind of Magic and magical boundaries would you like to see?

As for technology, my current limit is pre-1000 AD/CE, but I am open to other options

On technology: I'd prefer it to be pre-1300, which would give us platemail and crossbows, but exclude gunpowder.

Crossbows have been around since 420 AD, and gunpowder has been used since the Greek ages, supposedly. But there was definitely gunpowder by 1044 AD. Also, plate mail with no lamellar elements wasn't until about mid-1400's.

I don't really mind any technololy level. On the subject of magic. I think it's fine as long as it is not overly powerfull. One mage should not be able to lay waste to an entire city or kick the butt of giant armies on their own :)

Gunpowder and crossbows have existed for a long time, true, but by that logic steam engine technology is over 2000 years old. In the year 1000 crossbows weren't the norm on the battlefield, and gunpowder was only a thing in the far east.

Anyway, I'm not trying to get into a historical pissing match here over who knows more than who; I'm just saying that I'd like crossbows and such to be available.

Neither am I, and I'm sorry if it seemed like I was. I was just saying that those things were around and not around at that point.

Anyway, yes, I'll allow Plate and Crossbows, but under no circumstance is gunpowder allowed.

I thought not. I'm wondering how magic would be incorporated. We could have a RWBY-like system, where magic comes from a particular substance, or maybe more along the lines of Demonata, where powerful magic is restricted to areas with a lot of magic already in the air. Or we could keep it traditional, with spells coming from the person themselves.

I think spells comming from the person themself is fine but magic should be really uncommon and not that influential. I prefer it in a way that it can influence the world but not on a massive scale. I don't really like the idea of a single person leveling cities in an instant. Maybe a in the way it is currently done in Game of Thrones. It is there, it can influence events but really uncommon :)

I've always found how magic worked in the Inheritance Cycle to be decidedly amusing. I would rather things weren't done that way, however~

I exactly have that small island to the east of my nation too.

Edit: Anyone mind if I make my religion the major religion among NPC elves?

Well, the elves in my nation are the priests of a sacrifice-hungry fire god, so your religion won't be very present in the empire.

Technically, they would follow partly my religion since I include your god in my religion.

But don't get me wrong, there are still going to be some religious conflicts since my kingdom believes karo is no longer a true god

I would personally like access to both magic and gunpowder, simply to open up more options for people. If you'd like, you could have some sort of barrier with the two, like if you have magic you can't have gunpowder if you feel like it'd cause issue. Just my opinion.

Hmm... What about explosives, like cherry bombs, but no firearms?
