BeanieBaggie Old, Cold, So Very Full of Mold

(excuse the lame title it's the best I could think up)

The end of the world started out just like any other cold and flu season. People got sick, some died, media flipped out. It only changed after people began to get vaccinated. They created a supervirus that created flesh eating zombies, ironically because of their fear of death, and still the media, the one that mattered, was silent. The only people who knew were the police, swat, hospital workers, conspiracy theorists, and those online enough to know something bad was going down. Then it began to get out of control, and millions began to turn. Now, months later, there're rumours of safe havens all over, though they're just rumors with no actual basis. The US has almost totally been overrun, though sometimes there are small pockets of survivors. After wandering around, attempting to find a safe place that stays safe (person A) runs into (person B) and they join forces- two is better than one, right?
~
Info on the zombies: They're slow, but not totally dumb. They scream like those blonde fan-service "props" in slasher movies at humans, and swarm them. They're attracted by sound, but they can smell the difference between non-infected and infected. they don't go for dead humans, they prefer living ones, but they have been known to eat someone that's recently died. They prefer to eat humans, and scream at them, but they have also been rumored to eat animals in desperation, or so the internet users say. Best way to take them out is an arrow or silent weapon to their head, because loud noises draw them closer.
Some have been found to run, sprint even, in a desperate attempt to feed, but that kind is extremely rare.
the infection is transferred through blood- the zombies gums bleed constantly, and when they bite, the blood enters the wound. some spray blood in a fine mist, but it is currently unknown if that can cause infection.
After infection, the human suffers for about 24 hours before dying, and turning. They become incapacitated at hour 6, and unable to hide their symptoms. it's been rumored that some people can carry the disease, and that some can remain functioning as humans for a week before finally turning.

The first symptoms are intense scabbing of the wound, loss of coordination, inability to focus eyes, a slight slur in speech, a sickly/different colour to the skin, and a distinctive smell. This can all be hidden/passed off as drunk.
Then, they start to be violently ill, shaking, cold and clammy, the scabbing soon dissipates and the wound begin to pus up and weep, any other wounds on the body that weren't the point of infection bleed, and the first symptoms become worse. then organs shut down, the body cools, and then they die. they reanimate after an hour.

Name: Jason Cortez
Age: 20
Gender: male
Looks: Jason stands at 6 foot three, his physically fit frame smothered in tan skin. His hair which is normally brown has been lightened to a blonde by seawater and the sun, and is spiked in a short fohawk, and even wet it does not leave anything much for zombies or rope to grab onto, nor does it obstruct his vision. His hands are strong and rough, as they've put up with the harsh conditions of sailing and driving a boat around the gulf, and his body is not without scars from rope burn, accidental cuts and falls, and fights he's had as a child. He usually wears a tight tank top and cargo shorts, the only thing he has on him that serve little purpose are his father's dog tags he has around his neck. His strong face are pierced by his dark hazel eyes, his right eyebrow interrupted by a scar he'd gotten from accidentally running into a pole a few years ago. He wears white sneakers on the boat, appreciating the grip and how they don't scuff up the boat.
Bio: Jason is the son of an upper-middle class family, from Louisiana. His father wasn't there for most of his life, as he went MIA on his last tour in the military. His mother is a policewoman, and growing up she used to take him and his sister, Ophelia, to the shooting range- stressing the importance of gun safety, and when it's ok to use it. Before the zombies, he sailed ships for people who couldn't themselves, and ended up working in Florida for the sake of money. He and his family were pretty tight nit, and he found out about the zombies before the phone lines started to get mucked up, from his mom and sister. He's heading northwest to look for them, hoping to meet up at mobile, Alabama. As of this moment, he's got a backpack on him with some rope, a large knife, a half-used first aid kit, two granola bars, a bottle of water, a crowbar, a wallet with more pictures of family than anything else, a map, and a roll of toilet paper inside of it.

Robyn's
Name: Alexis "Alex" Fletcher
Age: 19 yrs
Gender: Female
short bio thing: Alexis was born in South Carolina along with her brother Chance on a small cotton farm. She spent her childhood days helping out on the farm and her father even taught her how to shoot a rifle. It was essential to keep the small animals out of the crops and she became quite the shot. Not long before the outbreak her parents got divorced with her father and Chance staying on the farm and her mother and she left for Florida. Alexis wasn't happy with leaving the farm that she had grew up and worked on all her life. During the outbreak she hasn't heard anything from her father or brother besides one phone call. Her mother had been killed while at working as a nurse in a hospital receiving the first of the ill in the area. Since it has seemed the entire world has gone to Hell. Alexis has survived relatively well as she has reverted back to her days on the farm doing what she knows best to survive. She only keeps an old rifle, a knife, and a backpack full of supplies on her person.

She quickly learned that sounds attracted more of the infected and only uses it in a dire emergency. She is currently in search of a viable alternative.

Don't be sorry. I've been doing for almost 12 years and I wrote that over the course of 4 hours. Length isn't everything, quality is what matters.

Thats cool. I've never been to a con but always wanted to go.

Hubs and I always said if we did go we'd dress up as Ash and Misty. If we ever have a baby, Pikachu.

What can I say? We're nerds. xP
