Half strength would be the same as general freedom, who's a high end intermediate (and who also has a variety of energy projection abilities at his disposal, as well as great speed). Thus I figured that a similar high tier character would be able to have at least twice the strength.

Instead of nerfing his speed completely, would it work to limit his acceleration per second so he'd only be able to achieve mach 1 or 2 during a fight?

The damage output of the galdhr beams can never exceed 3,600 tons at he point of emission (his eyes), so while a full arc attack would be nigh-undodgeable, it would have only a small fraction of the impact force per square inch that a focused attack has. And the farther away the targets are, the less energy per square inch it has as well. Up close, as in less than five meters away, it would definitely hurt like hell, but any high-tier should be able to muster a defense that can block it. It's the focused beams they'd have to worry about.

The Galdhr sense just lets him detect powerful sources of dark energy like the portals.

I think you have the same problem I was having when making Maxwell, Schradinger. Even at the limits of High tier, I still felt he was super outclassed by everyone else, cause powers are just so much better than pure strength right now.

We've already established that General Freedom is OP, for one.

Two, there's a give and take that you have to have. So no character is unbalanced. If you have max strength, you can come nowhere close to max speed. And vice versa.

And third, Maxwell and Kanitah would be perfect benchmarks for purely physical characters in strength and speed respectively. Try and put it somewhere between them.

Finally, a bit of a physics note: Once you reach a certain speed, which you're well in excess of, you're no longer running. You are flying. And if you have no way of maintaining lift and speed, you're going to faceplant at mach 4.6

Yes, Freedom is OP for intermediate, but I'm not making an intermediate. These immense restrictions on some high-tier abilities (like strength) and lack of restrictions on others (like being able to project enough energy to destroy cities) are really confusing... :P

And Titan can fly. It's in there under the matter manipulation. If he couldn't, he wouldn't be getting anywhere near mach 10.

Alright. Me and LeeRoy discussed Titan. Here's what we figured could be reasonable;

Mach 2 fighting speed. Faster by prep.

75 tons lifting strength (his speed should give him plenty of punching power)

Beam: The borderline unavoidable part of it makes us cringe. But, we came up with a solution that increases it's damage potential but makes it possible to dodge under the right circumstances. A half disk. Horizontally, it can widen up to 180 degrees, but starts out as a straight forward beam. Vertically, it remains thin enough to apply cutting power when it hits something. Which basically means that if you prep it up to 180 degrees, and unleash the wave of death, most about anyone and anything hit by it will be cut in two.

Sound good?

Not exactly. Freedom has a plethora of energy manipulation abilities, and Titan has only one (apart from strength related stuff and flight).

As far as edits, I spent some time thinking about it last night while I was unable to post. Would it be alright if I kept the 100 ton strength, lowered combat speed to mach 2 (as suggested), and nerfed the beams to 1000 tons of TNT equivalent and they can expand at a rate of 50 degrees per prep (to account for retaining 100 ton strength)? That would mean that they could still expand vertically as well as horizontally, but only to a combined total of 50 degrees per prep. So 30 degrees horizontal and 20 degrees vertical, or 10 degrees vertical and 40 degrees horizontal, or a flat 50 degrees horizontal per prep, and so on (180 and 135 would still be the maximums).

The laser isn't the issue. The speed + strength is the issue. This would make you the fastest and strongest character in here. Having mach 2 speed combined with 100 tons of lifting weight is totally unreasonable.

If I'm moving at mach 2, how much weight I can lift isn't going to do much to change how hard I can hit. Whether it's 75 tons, 50 tons, or 10 tons, a man-sized projectile moving at mach 2 is really gonna hurt. Having 100 ton strength isn't so I can hit a bunch harder than any other character, it's just to give me one or two more options besides "punch" and "blast", like throwing vehicles and tanks and such (which admittedly won't ever do as much damage as a mach 2 punch, but I like to keep a few options open). It's like Melon (I think it was Melon) was saying earlier. How strong you are doesn't determine how hard you hit.

Freedom can hit just as hard if not harder, since he's a bit faster than I would be, and he's clearly not OP for a high-tier since Fury beat him. The only difference is that I'd be able to throw bigger stuff and beat him in arm wrestling.

Schradinger, you're not doing two things. The math and critical thinking.

The Math: You're moving at mach 2 and carrying as much physical strength as a character like Maxwell who's speed is limited to 100mph as per Skallagrim's wishes. Your punches would carry so much force that no high tier could compete. You would dole out more punishment than you would ever receive.

The Critical Thinking: As I've said before, lifting weight is a Benchmark for how strong they are. 100 tons of strength means you're as strong as Maxwell, a purely physical character with max strength. Also note: General Freedom is not a high tier. He was beaten by the high tier form of Fury. Who is, mind you, not a good reference either.

That's why we're trying to give you a strength that is marginally higher than his without totally blowing other high tiers out of the water and a slightly slower speed. You can even increase the number of abilities that you can add on, but having max strength AND speed is 100% totally unreasonable.

Physical Description:

Standing at 8 feet 4 inches tall.
Weighing 212 lbs.
Note: His feet are razor sharp bits of ceramic, often preferring to float above the ground, rather than actually touching it. These can and will be used in combat.

Personality Description: Arp is capable of remarkable feats of calculation, memorization, and logical assumption. However, Arp is not the most mature sort of robot. Childish and friendly he obsesses over people and things that he finds and people that he meets. Locking down what he's going to do next is no simple task, because has a catalog of behaviors that are labeled as rational and entertaining.

Skills, powers and abilities:

  • Remarkable Speed and Agility [Intermediate]: Arp's greatest abilities are his speed and agility. On foot Arp is capable of achieving 350mph without boosters. Without his boosters as well, he is capable of outstanding feats of acrobatics. Including, but not limited to: Handstands, numerous flips, a 15 foot vertical, and impecable balance. It is also noteworthy to say that all of his joints can move at unnatural angles and rotate in their sockets.

  • Flight [High]: Arp is required to travel from planet to planet, and outside of a planet's gravitational pull he is capable of near light speed. However! Inside of a field of gravity he is unable to move faster than mach 4.6/3,501 mph. Beyond that speed wind resistance tears his body to shreds. At that speed, contact with the ground can tear his body apart. In combat he is only capable of utilizing Mach 1 reasonably. Anything faster just leads to numerous crashes and he like.

  • Indefinite Recall [Intermediate]: Arp's a computer, they don't forget anything. They just catalog it and use it in the most useful way. Cataloged inside of his brain are numerous calculations and the entirety of human sciences. With little to no effort he can find and utilize any martial art that he has witnessed or has read about over the course of his lifespan. This includes a long list of human combat styles and weapons knowledge.

  • Inhuman Thought Processes [Intermediate]: Arp's mind is as quick as his body, able to react to stimuli at well beyond that of human reaction speeds. At least 5x the speed of a human's reaction. Arp's ability to react is another very noteworthy trait.

  • Temperature Stabilization [High]: Arp is designed to survive the rigors and temperatures of incredibly hostile environments. Including the inside of volcanoes, and the depths of space. From head to toe he is coated in a thick albeit fragile temperature balanced ceramic that protects against both extremes of hot and cold. From absolute zero to 3,250 degrees. Arp's ceramic body is composed primarily of hafnium diboride. Although it is a durable and hard material, like all ceramics it does shatter easily.

  • Overclocked Power Source[Low]: Arp doesn't actually have a limit to how long he can run, however, he has a limit on how long he can be in strenuous activity. Which is rather long in comparison to human beings, in combat he can go about 20 minutes without resting. Afterwards, fleeing combat is a necessity.

  • Peak Human Strength [Low]: About 1,200 lbs lifting strength. Arp doesn't rely on his strength to win fights, rather, pestering a foe until they leave an opening.





Weaknesses:
I feel the need to list his weaknesses so people can understand his skillset better.

  • Arp is a merc, he has no side except the side that will pay him. There is no loyalty but to the money. Say you have money, and he's on your side.

  • Arp is gullible, often falling for the most childish of tricks and taunts. This leads him into situations that most people would avoid.

  • Childish obsession. Rather than taking a fight seriously, he will tease opponents until they surrender. A foe that doesn't surrender is not subjected to his combat talents.

  • Ceramic is a fragile material. While it is damn near invulnerable to temperature it is disastrously weak, so any character in here is capable of poking holes in him with a punch.



Character History:
No way, that's way too long to write. I'm gonna just let his interaction in the roleplay serve as his story. If people want to know, then they must ask him in person.

Notes:
Arp's processor is inside of his waist. He thinks out of his ass, quite literally. The optic sensor on his head functions, but his head itself is a distraction.

His engine is inside of his chest, just below the component that opens up on his command.

The propulsion pack itself has its own photonic pump, however it is not connected to the system that allows him to manipulate it. So it just blasts the energy outwards as propulsion, rather than a weapon.

The character I just posted, Arp. Is a character who moves at Mach 4. Alright. But if he touches the ground at that speed, his body will tear apart.

There has to be a give and take, no matter what tier you are.

Alright. 75 tons it is. I think someone needs to rework the tier descriptions though. Magneto and Doctor Strange could solo every high tier that's been approved, at the same time. So could Skalla, for that matter, but he's the GM's character so that's a bit different.

Point is, the disparity between the description of what's allowed and what's actually allowed is pretty big.

Edited strength to 75 tons and speed to mach 2, added phasing (with a required prep), and upped the output of the beams to 5 kilotons and removed their ability to be fired in a spread shot. Focused fire only.

I also removed a fair portion of his backstory so I could start him out before he knows everything about what he can do.

Okay Leeroy, i like your character. An airborn dodger that is really hard to hit and capable of surviving extreme temperatures, yet prone to being tricked and quite frail against any other type of damage, he is well balanced, and i WOULD approve him right now if only you hadn't forgot to write the temperature capability of the photon pump. And also, please explain the colors in detail, as i cant personaly understand the diffrence between the green and blue. Are colors somehow dependant on the aforementioned consistency alteration, or are they something diffrent?
