Kyokujitsu no Tochi

History
After the destruction of much of the mainland, including almost the entirety of Konohagakure, the Land of Fire was remade as Kyokujitsu no Tochi, to represent the rebirth of the nation as a whole. Sankage Shichishodai Shikata, Ayameko, former Hokage, created a new government to include the smaller shinobi nations that had become a part of the Land of Fire. In an effort to rebuild her nation, Ayameko moved the historic capital of the Land of Fire from Konohagakure to the north, closer towards the new territories that had become a part of their nation, renaming the capital Kyokujitsugakure. The former lands of Konohagakure serve as a memorial for those lost during the destruction caused by the bijuu.

Geographical Description

Kyokujitsu no Tochi is one of the most diverse geographical landscapes, spanning from the cold northern territories to the tropical southern lands. Largely flat, Kyokujitsu no Tochi only has incredible terrain changes in the west and north, where it runs into the mountains dividing them from the Lands of Earth and Wind in the west, and the Land of Lightning in the North. It does, however, have a small section of mountains in its most northern most territory.

Plantlife is abundant in Kyokujitsu no Tochi, with a wide range of crops. The open plains scattered throughout are often utilized for agriculture

Political Structure

Kyokujitsu no Tochi is not a strict democracy. While there is representation from all villages, the Sankage has final authority on all matters. What makes this as successful as it is, is the long history the Land of Fire used to select its leadership. At the end of each Sankage's lifespan, their soul is brought back to the mortal world and returned to Yggdrasil, which sits firmly in the new capital of Kyokujitsugakure. The tree, along with all of the previous Hokage and Sankage choose from youth selected by the represented council to become the next Sankage. When the Sankage is selected, they are given the title not only of Sankage, but take on the name Shikata. Ayameko, Shichishodai Shikata is the predecessor of Hokage Shichijūnin Shikata Kibō. Ayameko's full title is Shodai Sankage Hyakuyondaime Hokage Yotogodaime Tanikage Shichishodai Shikata Ayameko (First Sun Shadow One Hundred and Fourth Fire Shadow Forty Fifth Valley Shadow Seventy First Shikata, Ayameko)

Representation from the outlying villages is left largely up to the culture of each village. Each territory provides a singular representative. For most of the current instances, the former surviving Kages of those lands were selected as their lands representative. However, most of those territories have since moved towards popular elections to select their representatives when their current ones leave office.

Religion

Kyokujitsu no Tochi's Land of Fire is quite religious, with many of the populace adopting a practice of worship at many of the Shrines for the Bijuu, which they call Seishin. This movement is spreading slowly to the other lands, which have been slower to adopt the practice.

Economy

While the largest exporter of agriculture goods, Kyokujitsu no Tochi's economy is as diverse as its geography, with a wide varieties of industries thriving within its borders. The northern territories are noted for mineral resources, while the south especially noted for its ripe fruits that grow year round. The center is noted for its production of wool, cotton, and lumber, which supplied clothing and paper to the rest of the nation. Animals are rarely, if ever, eaten within Kyokujitsu no Tochi, a combination of tradition and the advancement of new plantcrops that provide nearly identical taste and texture to food.

Additionally, Kyokujitsu no Tochi is well noted as a research nation, with a significant portion of its time and energy being put into medical and barrier research.

Clan List
Masazane
The Masazane clan is a historical staple in the Land of Fire. Noted for their manipulation of metal, they have served the village as smiths of unique and powerful weapons.

Yuki
The Yuki clan is charged with keeping records for the Land of Fire. They run the Omoide no Kinko-shitsu, the library for Kyokujitsu no Tochi. They posses incredible memories and information retrieval within the library.

Uchiha
Wielders of the Sharingan, the Uchiha provide Kyokjitsu no Tochi with the bulk of its Intel forces and military police.

Hyuuga
The Hyuuga is the second oldest clan in Kyokujitsu no Tochi and its members have access to the Byakugan. Many members of the Hyuuga clan join the Senkensha, a sensory division for Kyokujitsu no Tochi.

Senju
The clan of the Shodai Hokage, noted for its ability to utilize the Mokuton nature, given to it by the tree Yggdrasil. They are the oldest clan in Kyokujitsu no Tochi and have exceptional reverence for Yggdrasil. The largest percentage of Kages for the Land of Fire have come from this clan.

Nara
The Nara clan is well known throughout Kyokujitsu no Tochi. Keepers of the Hiden that allows the manipulation of Shadows, Nara clan members work in a variety of roles throughout the village. Noted for their cleverness and ingenuity, they are well respected.

History

Yamagakure, formerly Kumogakure and its outlying lands, was formed when Hyakune, Ra and the priestess known as Windspeaker Touho took over Kumogakure in a Coup d'etat, backed heavily by the general populace. Around the time of the nine Bijuu roaming free, the former leader of Kumogakure heavily taxed and oppressed his people, claiming the funds and customs necessary to protect them from the threat that the Bijuu posed. Several members of the High Council saw through the ruse, but were executed for treason and the village was placed in a state of martial law. Ra and Windspeaker Touho led a rebellion around thirty three years into this oppressive regime, and have ruled ever since.

With the threat of the Bijuu eliminated, Yamagakure have slightly decreased their military presence - though only slightly - and have opened up new trading routes with Kirigakure and Kyokujitsugakure, and have begun to fortify their land after the acquisition of the Land of Frost.

Geographical Description

Yamagakure is an extremely difficult land to traverse, generally being somewhat mountainous, but most of the larger mountains are resigned to very specific areas - there are a set of three concentric rings of mountains in the center of the land, each of which acts as a natural barrier for the village in the centre, and beyond that there are many outcrops that hold rich mineral deposits. The land that is not taken over by mountains is fairly flat, with a slight incline towards the village. Yamagakure's land is strangely fertile due to the strange weather cycles and the leaching of minerals down from the mountains into the basins formed by the concentric rings of mountains, and there are rivers that run through each of the basins to supply it with water. Irrigation has improved upon the naturally occurring rivers and the humid climate allows crops to be grown easily, though due to the high mineral content of the soil there are only a select few crops that grow well - but those few crops that can be grown are grown extraordinarily well.

The areas outside the central basin are steeper than those within, and there are no mountains to offer shelter from the northern and southern winds, so agriculture is more difficult but the people of Yamagakure have perfected the art of farming the land they have, allowing them to feed their population comfortably, but not having much left over to export. The areas not turned into farmland are most often mines, with a vast quantity of exceptionally pure iron being Yamagakure's primary resource. There are strange currents of chakra that flow through the ground, said to be left by the ten-tailed beast long ago, that allow the metal that Yamagakure smiths to be easily imbued with elemental chakra, though it can also be imbued with other chakra easily to achieve potent effects.

Political Structure

Yamagakure's ruling body is comprised of the Kage, the Windspeaker, and the Beneficent Council. The Kage and Windspeaker each hold a higher percentage of votes than any member of the Beneficent Council, and have ultimate legislative authority, but the opinions of the Beneficent Council are highly regarded and are unlikely to be overturned without drastic cause.

The Beneficent Council is chosen by annual election, with three trials given to each prospective member - A trial of Warfare, a trial of Humility and a trial of Knowledge. Those that complete all three trials are offered the opportunity to become members of the Beneficent Council, and unlike most councils it has no set limit on members, though each additional member diminishes the quantity of votes each other member gets. After five years on the council, members can choose to resign or undertake a single trial again to prove themselves worthy of their place. the Beneficent Council is largely independent from the desires of the Kage and the Windspeaker, and always vote for the good of the people, which has led to an exceptionally content population.

The Military, under command of Windspeaker Touho, have some element of sway and can overrule the Beneficent Council in times of warfare, though it is very rare that the Beneficent Council's advice is ignored.

Religion

Windspeaker Touho and the military are fairly religious, and have taken to worship of the Bijuu sealed away in the shrines - though their religion focuses on the bijuu as aspects of Fūjin, the Wind God, and neglects to call them the Seishin. The religion focuses on asceticism and self-reflection, leading to Yamagakure's military being largely comprised of monks that try to keep the peace rather than enforce any real laws. Most members of Yamagakure consider themselves agnostic, but worship of Fūjin has been embedded into the culture and all of Yamagakure's holidays and festivals are in their name.

Economy

Yamagakure has a strong but not fantastic economy due to its vast amounts of high-quality exports and its abundance of certain crops. It imports some food, though not much, and does not import anything else. If ties to other villages were to be severed, Yamagakure would be able to survive as a standalone village for a long time, a claim that some villages are unable to make. Yamagakure's coffers are also extremely full due to the rich mineral deposits scattered around the land, one of the main components of which is gold.

History

The islands of Water Country have always reflected the mighty ocean that surrounds them, wild and fierce. The people of each island were highly territorial many years ago before they were united as one nation, always making sure that none could step foot on their island and constantly vying back and forth for more land. Dozens of smaller islands littered the sea, setting the stage for war between the island nations. Every year, the smaller islands would be raided, pillaged, and conquered, and every year, the larger islands would wage war over a small piece of land.

It was a tumultuous time, and it was nearly the destruction of the islands.Then appeared the feudal lord Tsukikaru Ichi. With the samurai of Senshitoshi at his back, Tsukikaru Ichi marched a campaign across the 6 isles of Water Country. Scrolls aged by the centuries reflect upon the campaign, stating that with each victory – his force would grow by the thousands, the people of Water Country uniting under one indisputable leader.

Geographical Description

Water Country is comprised of six islands, with the largest referred to as the main island and five smaller ones surrounding it. It hosts a small tropical paradise that has a warm, sunny climate. The island is only bothered by differing state: the monsoon season. Monsoon season starts from March to May, beginning on the easternmost end of the islands and working its way west. Storms brew frequently and rapidly with barely any notice beyond a few darkened clouds. However, Hidden Mist has devised a complicated set of detection machinery to measure barometric pressure and other such signs to at least raise the flag when a particularly fierce tempest threatens to ravage the islands.

Once monsoon season comes to a close, the weather becomes balmier and more consistent. Long sunrises and even longer sunsets paint the skies a fantastic spectrum of colour, with the sun beginning its ascent at roughly six in the morning (finishing at eight) and starting its descent at five (and ending at eight).

The islands themselves are mostly lush tropical forests with occasional plots of land cleared for farming (rice farming being an extremely lucrative field with the amount of wetland there is), surrounded by beautiful white sand beaches and the sea on all sides. A huge river system called Itonami Taiga runs from north to south of the main island. It splits into 7 smaller rivers called the Nana Eda (Seven Branches). They are...

These 7 small rivers connect to the central river like branches to a tree and provide water to the rest of the island. Itonami Taiga cuts right through the famous Shiroizumi Lake in the center of the main island.

The islands’ soil is rich and nourishes yams, rice, and several varieties of greens. The forest is filled with tropical fruit and the sea is teeming with fish. The Country of Water is, to the spectator’s eye, practically paradise. They would be most surprised to find out several swampy regions scattered throughout the main island of Kodanetou, and the climate within these swamps are vastly different from the rest of the country. Often humid and muggy, a gloom sits and stagnates as animals that thrive in these regions such as alligators wait for travelers to get caught in the muddy waters.

Towns and Cities

The five smaller islands of Mizu no Kuni are dotted with innumerable villages, ranging from small fishing towns to thriving port cities. The main island is naturally split up into eight sections by the Nada Eda. Seven of these are/were occupied by especially noteworthy villages named after each river branch; the last is home to Kirigakure itself.

Senshitoshi of the southeastern region was destroyed in one of the civil wars, mainly because its very name (the Warrior Village) suggested that its inhabitants were extremely aggressive and helped fuel each new conflict as they came along – whether or not this was true. Today, all that remains are several scars in the floor of the tropical forest where the feudal lord’s mansion once stood, with ruins of battlements and crumbled remains of rusted weapons.

Bikitoshi to the south is a pleasant fishing town, the most populated in the area. Its inhabitants live as their ancestors had and as their descendants will, making a humble living off catching and selling seafood. It has most always been a very quiet hamlet, rejoicing in its continued existence. Even though it is a small coastal village, it has managed to survive against the reaches of war and pirate raids all these years: something no other village its size has managed to do.

Shijotoshi to the southwest is the capital of Water Country. All government buildings are located here, as well as the most prestigious schools of higher learning. The brightest in the country grow up in the halls of the academic institutes, memorizing formulas and theories while eventually testing out their own. This is where the intelligence of Water spawns, and it is straight from these academies that Hidden Mist recruits graduates to work in their Medical Corps R/D and Engineering divisions.

Umitoshi of the west region is a rich fishing/trading city. It is host to the port that receives boats coming from the mainland. This town is the economic hub of Water Country, and so all the best efforts are made to put forth the best protection of its market. Some of the wealthiest merchants and businessmen reside in Umitoshi, and the inhabitants have divided themselves into classes according to wealth. The aristocracy run the show in this town while the poorest of the poor fend for themselves in the canals and sewers.

Ningyotoshi to the north houses Hirame Temple, where people can pay their respects to the god of the sea. The temple was originally located in Umitoshi, but it was burned to the ground much like Senshitoshi during a war. It was rebuilt in Ningyotoshi when the Water Lord noticed the thriving activity in Umitoshi and decided that the large quantity of money changing hands would interfere with the solemnity of praying at Hirame Temple.
• Landmark: Hirame Temple

Built by some of the keenest architects in the land, this expansive temple is known throughout the country. Its solid stone framework makes it an excellent shelter for those caught in the middle of a storm, and it is perpetually lit by multitudes of candles. The temple itself is built upon the slant of a mountainside; part of the spiritual journey is simply reaching the breathtaking height of Hirame Temple. Hirame Temple also holds the shrine of the 6 tails.

Kanitoshi is unique as it is the only region that is actually a small offshore island to the northeast of Kodanetou. The island itself is basically a chunk of rock out on the ocean, close enough to be seen with the naked eye, but far enough that no land bridge can be safely constructed to it. It is sometimes called the ‘Wild Town’ because of its red-light district, the only one in all of Water Country. In addition, some of the best bars can be found here, and it is said that quite a bit of drug trafficking goes on, though law enforcement has been unable to confirm these rumours. Kanitoshi has been acknowledged by many as the heart of the underworld in Water, making it very dangerous for local authorities to pass through.

Sametoshi to the east has the highest population after Umitoshi and Shijotoshi, and is famous for being the hometown of some of the country’s best swordsmen. Even today, the city contains almost twenty schools of kenjutsu. Hidden Mist often hires several of the top graduates to lead training sessions at the Genin Academy.

Economy

Not surprisingly, Water Country’s economy depends heavily on the sea. Most of the nation’s food comes from the ocean, and what they do not consume they trade to other places. They are especially proud of their pearl divers and coral sculptors, and recently some entrepreneurs have started up whaling businesses. Water Country also exports tropical wood and tropical fruit. Because farmland is limited, they must import other types of foods in order to provide the people with a healthier diet, namely starches and vegetables.

To a lesser degree are oil and engineering trades. Two oil platforms have been constructed several miles south of Kodanetou and produce a steady supply of tradable resources. The technological industry has been fairing quite steadily as well, breaking grounds in steam-powered machinery that they manufacture and export to less fortunate cities around the globe.

And, of course, Water brings in a great deal of its gross income on the seas itself. They have several large companies that run on specializing in bulk deliveries, loading up tugs with products from one location and transporting it to another, charging a nominal fee for their service. Vacation and tourist industries also thrive, seeing as the country is generally fair and beautiful. This wide variety of financial support helps soften the blows of economic shocks, creating a very stable market in one of the most successful countries to date.

Culture

People of Water Country are persevering and do not easily succumb to hardship. How can they, after surviving this long against storms that prevent the men from fishing, threats of having their homes carried away by floods, pirate attacks as far back as written history can remember, and endless civil war? This leads to the stereotype that Water citizens are stubborn, sometimes violent in their struggle to accomplish what they want, and indeed, Water Country has a bad reputation of tackling their problems with the pen in the drawer and a sword in both hands.

Religion

There is only one major deity in Water Country, and that is the Umikami, known as the god of the sea. The more common and less official name for him is the water god. The religion of the water god is one steeped in mythology, for there are literally dozens of stories that relate either directly or indirectly to the god. His origin tale is not known, for to the people of Water Country, he has always existed. Instead, the oldest story of the god of the sea is the creation of the world and the islands that make up Water Country. It is a long epic tale, with a recitation that can last several hours. In fact, because of the many tales of the Water God, it has become a tradition of sorts for people to choose their most favourite and meaningful tale and to memorize it, keeping it forever in their hearts.

Traditional worship of Umikami is not highly complex. The people of Water Country have never been the most cultured or educated. Rather, prayers are made to him, asking for life blessings and fair conditions. It is considered to be foolish to go out to sea in a boat without praying for the blessing of the ship, and the especially religious believe that any ship that sinks must have invoked the wrath of the god. Annual trips are usually made to the various temples that dot the islands, though the largest and most prominent is on the main island itself. Because the official religion of Water Country is the worship of the water god, the government pays for the upkeep of the temples. There is also the annual Fall Festival that is celebrated every year in celebration of the water god.

Umikami is not a god who is truly benevolent. He is the spiritual manifestation of the ocean, and the sea is the physical extension of his very will. The ocean reflects the various aspects of the god. He can be calm like small waves lapping the shore. He can be furious as the great hurricanes that batter the islands like paper houses. He can be the merciful like water, for nothing in this world can live without it. But he can be cruel and merciless, for nothing can drink only seawater and expect to survive. The god of the sea is not a fickle god, but it can be easy to stir up his wrath. The ocean is his will and the sword is his symbol. To him, the worthiest are the ones who show skill and survival. Much of Water Country’s and Hidden Mist’s attitude can be reflected upon this aspect of the Water God.

Those who make a profession out of the sea tend to be much more religious then those who live and work mostly on land. Because nobody ever really thinks that there can be any other religion in Water Country, there is little enforcement of the religion. Those who do worship other gods do not speak of it publicly, for fear of retribution and attack. Overall, the water god makes up a large part of the lives of the citizens, especially in certain attitudes and traditions that are kept, but He is not a constant presence.

Government

Following a system started forty years ago, the Mizukage now meets six times a year with delegates from each of the smaller islands. Together, they create new laws, discuss the effectiveness of existing laws, internal and external politics, the economy… Though the delegates have their say in how the government works, the Mizukage is responsible for about 75% of what goes on in the country. Though he does have a council of advisors, advising is the only thing they can do. The Mizukage must directly approve all official word sent out from the capital on any subject first.

Technology

The level of technology in Mist is most similar to the “steampunk” theme of machinery. While their machines are neither sleek nor slim, they pack limitless power due to the combination of Steam techniques Shinobi are capable of producing. Technology has already begun to graft itself into the culture of Hidden Mist in many different ways, the most obvious being the main gate. Several prototype Fleet ships are beginning to incorporate the use of steam technology, though nothing solid has yet been developed.

In terms of use on a body, the level of implants and prosthetics is fairly impressive for what they have achieved. While enhancements can be made on a larger scale (limbs and major inner organs) leaving obvious signs of tampering, minute adjustments on areas such as the eyes are still unachievable. For example, if a Shinobi received a replacement arm for one they lost, it would clearly appear mechanical. The options on it would be simple, such as a piston mechanism that adds force to a punch on an arm, or one that lends strength to a jump on a leg.

While no modifications can be done on parts such as the eyes, they are still able to be wholly transplanted as regular replacements.
The Naval of Mist

Hidden Mist differs from other hidden villages in one important aspect, and that is the presence of a full naval fleet. As an island nation, the Water Country has a substantial naval force to draw upon. The ships are designed after the maritime tall ships of the early 1800s. Most of the Naval vessels are three masted frigates, though there are a handful of big ships of the line that serve as flagships when a fleet is formed. The Navy's main purpose, however is detachment of individual ships to escort the shipping that makes Water prosperous. Some of the best shipwrights in the world work with the Naval Fleet of Mist.

The ships used to protect the merchant ships are Frigate class, sporting half a dozen ballistae and a number of other wielded long range weaponry (bows, and the like.) Also, the frigates are armed with 22 nine-pounder cannons. (Meaning they fire a cannonball that weighs about nine pounds.) Keep in mind that these weapons are arranged along the ship's sides, so that only half of them are actually fired with a full broadside. The crew is 160 strong, give or take. The boarding force on a Frigate consists of six 4-man squads, and one military commander whose position is different than the captain's.

The ships of the line are much bigger than the light frigates, having a second gun deck below the main deck. Also being longer, this more than doubles their armament. They are fitted with 20 ballistae and 56 guns. These are 12-pounder carronades, boasting a good deal more force than the nine-pounders. A full broadside from one of these vessels sends over 600 pounds of metal screaming into the enemy vessel. Truly a terrible force to be reckoned with. The crew complement s enormous, generally over 300 men serve on one of these vessels.

Also in service are a few small sloops of war. These are mounted with 12 nine-pounders and no ballistae. The full crew complement is 80, though generally sloops are given a few under that number. Generally, shinobi are not stationed aboard these ships, due to their relative unimportance in the Navy and uselessness as ships from which to stage a boarding action. They serve as supplement vessels to the fleet, providing quick and light spare ships in a sea battle, which can be a decisive factor.

The cannons found on the naval fleet are not the typical cannons found in real-time history. These are cannons that were designed by the Engineering researchers, and are weapons that are powered by steam and chakra. In essence, the cannons are elaborate metal tubes with dozens of seals engraved into the iron of the cannon. One end has an opening, the other has a large metal container in which the cannonballs are loaded. The cannons are then activated with a single touch, which uses stored up chakra within the seals to manipulate the water in the sea and air to transform into steam within the container. The steam instantly pressurizes and explodes, sending the cannonballs flying out with the same speed and strength as a normal cannon would. In all essence, they are one and the same, except one is powered by gunpowder and the other by steam.

Hidden Mist Divisions

The divisions in Hidden Mist are fairly simple and can be found in the following post. In short, upon graduation from the Academy, all Genin are placed into the standard three-man cells under the tutelage of a Chuunin or Jounin. When all Genin are successfully promoted to Chuunin, they can either apply to the Medical Corps or the Mist Law Enforcement Agency, or they can go straight to the Navy. All rejected applicants (there are many) to the Corps or the Agency are sent to the Navy. All Chuunin and Jounin are a part of the Navy, although they can be given special permission to stay on land to teach a Genin team.

A Dōjutsu almost entirely wiped out from history, but managed to survive in a small group from the Land of Rivers known as the Taiyo clan. The Sanryūgan holds the ability to view light in a way a regular eye couldn't allowing the clan to become not only excellent at tracking but also at simply spotting potential threats. While the Sanryūgan doesn't present the user with direct abilities like the Sharingan, it does however open up access to Hikaton, or a style known simply as 'Light Release', which can loosely be defined as the Taiyo clan controlling photons with their Chakra. Along with this the Sanryūgan can potentially present the ability to view light through various parts of the spectrum depending on skill. Those who are gifted with the Sanryūgan are identified by the violet/maroon hue of the eyes as no two eyes share the exact shade along with the peculiar triangular iris. As the users eyes adjust to focus on different parts of the light spectrum the eyes will change from a more violet hue to a deep crimson red.

Ayameko was born in the Land of Rivers, in a village outside of Tanigakure. She never aspired to become Tanikage, but events would push her down that path.

Her academy days were very uneventful. The Land of Rivers was small and it was easy for Ayameko to get the attention she needed from her teachers. She was far from a prodigy. Ayameko had to spend longer on much of her work, but what set her apart in her academy days was her work ethic and ingenuity. Ayameko's written submissions were always intriguing for her sensei, with the material she was discussing going far beyond her grade level and into heavily researched theory. It was Ayameko's refusal to settle for the expected or simple answer that made her one of the strongest graduates from Tanigakure.

Post academy, at 18, Ayameko pushed herself heavily into medical research, in particular genetics and neuroscience. It was unusual for a fresh out of academy Gennin to be working in that kind of advanced research. However, Ayameko made sure she was a useful part of the team, pushing herself to take on the hardest tasks she could in an effort to learn as much as she could. It would earn her a glowing recommendation for Chuunin and many accolades on her research on genetics and botanicals, in particular the creation of plants that produced certain natural instances of medicines for common diseases.

At 25, when out in the field, Ayameko would fall in love with a young Uchiha, Hatsuko, from the Land of Fire. Their romance was quite legendary and after two years, they married. However, Ayameko refused to leave the Land of Rivers, knowing her people needed her, especially giving the failing health of the current Tanikage. The two would travel back and forth between their nations to see each other twice a month. This continued for the next eight years.

At 33, the Ten Tails appeared in the Land of Wind, with little fanfare. The swift destruction of the Wind caught many of the nations offguard. After the beast destroyed almost all of Sunagakure, the remnants of the Wind were joined by the forces from many of the other small nations, as well as the Land of Fire and Land of Earth. Together, they took a stand at the border of the Land of Wind and Amegakure. The current Tanikage, already in poor health, was quickly destroyed by the beast. The ancient relic of the Land of Rivers, the Totsuka no Tsurugi, now lay on the ground with no wielder. Ayameko, no stranger to taking on the hardest tasks, picked up the weapon.

Quickly, she organized the now disorganized troops with the assistance of Hatsuko, eventually the combined effort being capable of restraining the beast long enough for the Totsuka no Tsurugi to split the beast into the nine other beasts. Unable to fight on nine fronts, the focus was to push back most of the beasts and try to restrain as many as possible. It was during this first battle, both the One and Two tails were able to be sealed and stored away within the shrines. Exhausted, but inspired by their ability to restrain these threats, the soldiers returned to their homelands for a brief respite as the remaining beasts scattered.

Returning to Tanigakure, Ayameko was quickly ushered into the role as Tanikage. At first she refused the position, stating there were others with more combat experience, and better credentials than herself. However, she eventually relented to the people of the Land of Rivers and became their Tanikage. The next three years of her role as Tanikage consisted primarily of tracking down and sealing the remaining bijuu. This fostered a strong relationship with the Land of Fire. After sealing away all but two of the beasts, Ayameko would return to the Land of Fire for a council with the current Hokage, Hokage Shichijūnin Shikata Kibō.

Once again, the beasts, along with fate, ushered her into a role she never intended to take. The Nine Tails, having spent much of its time destroying the outlying territories bordering the Land of Fire made a move on Konohagakure during the Council. Hokage Shichijūnin Shikata Kibō and Ayameko took up arms against the beast. In the fight, Ayameko's right arm was ripped off, in an effort to prevent her from utilizing the Totsuka no Tsurugi. However, the sword was saved by a wandering monk, an ally from across the seas who had spent the last three years sealing the bijuu with Ayameko. The Hokage, however, fared worse than her - losing his life in the battle with the creature. His soul returned to Yggdrasil, the historical selector of the leadership of the Land of Fire. Knowing the necessity of having a leader for the Land of Fire, Yggdrasil reached out to Ayameko in the battle and selected her as the Hokage. Invoking the power of the previous Hokage, Ayameko was able to open up the ground beneath the Nine Tails and suppress the beast long enough to allow the strange monk to seal the beast.

After the conflict, Ayameko's selection as Hokage was met with skepticism. Not only was she not a native to the Land of Fire, but she had position as another Kage. Hatsuko argued with the council on her behalf, eventually resulting in him resigning his position in frustration with the stubbornness of the leadership. A week after the destruction of Konoha, Ayameko was called in front of the very council she had come to the Land of Fire to meet - this time to debate the legitimacy of her leadership. After hours of receiving a verbal beating from the elders, Ayameko stood to leave, knowing she could not say anything to change their mind. However, knowing that its selection was being question, Yggdrasil reached out to the entire Land of Fire at once - something entirely unheard of. Blasted with mental images of her feats, and who she was as a person, the council, as well as the people relented.

Despite her advanced healing techniques, she could not recreate a flesh and blood arm for herself, the effects of the Kyuubi's removal of her arm preventing the regrowth needed. Hatsuko, now informed of Ayameko's pregnancy with twins, set out to the Mastersmith of the Land of Fire, Masazane Iyo. Combining their knowledge, Iyo and Ayameko were able to create an arm of metal that would respond to her will, much like her real arm would have. Seals at the end of her arm were placed to convert the signals from her nerve endings into understandable commands for the metal arm.

At 36, ten months after the events in the Land of Fire, Ayameko would give birth to twins - one boy, one girl. However, she would be immediately called away to seal away the last of the beasts, hiding in the southeast of the Land of Fire, in territory once owned by the Land of Water. The battle should have been seemingly simple, but Hatsuko would be poisoned by the beast in the battle, a poison unlike anything Ayameko had encountered. Despite her best efforts, Ayameko was unable to create an anti-toxin capable of dealing with the effects of the bijuu's poison, Hatsuko dying within the month. Even worse, her son would be taken as well, both children exposed to the poison through their father. Ayameko, who also suffered, only survived due to her distant heritage as a Senju - giving her a remarkable life force. However, Ayameko was able to synthesize an anti-toxin in the month following Hatsuko's death which allowed her to save her daughter, Touzoku.

Despite all of the Tailed Beasts being sealed, their destruction was not easily recovered from. Many of the smaller nations had populations starving and suffering. Those with malicious intent often took advantage of these struggling lands, which made it even worse. With most on the bring of destruction, the smaller lands requested to join with the larger nations which were still able to support themselves. Ayameko, who would have been content with merely giving aid to these lands, knew that the Council would not provide aid without gaining territory. Ayameko would be forced to take on these new lands as a part of her recovering nation.

The years that followed were as chaotic as could be expected. Most of the nation's had significantly weakened military, making enforcement of anything nearly impossible. Equally difficult was Ayameko's Council, who had returned to opposing her leadership. In a surprise move, Ayameko removed the Council's authority by opening up elections for the Council - which had been historically appointed by the Hokage. Under her guidance, the Council was replaced with representatives from each of the Lands, most of which were their former Kage. This structure worked well for many years, and restoration efforts were able to be enacted with minimal opposition.

However, it could be argued the recovery was too successful. Seeing many of their old, native lands returning to prosperity, there was a call from some of the people for a return to independence. In an effort to unite the people, Ayameko remade her nation as Kyokujitsu no Tochi, making the Land of Fire merely a territory within it. Under this, a new government would be born and each territory would have equal chance of being having a leader selected. Each would present candidates to Yggdrasil when it came time to select the new Sankage. Ayameko moved the capital north, keeping Konohagakure as a city for the Land of Fire, as well as a memorial for what was lost. The new capital would become Kyokujitsugakure and would be considered independent from the territories, despite being in the confines of the Land of Fire.

In her 60s, Ayameko would fall in love again, to a Hyuuga man. They would marry, but his health would fail a decade later. He would give Ayameko his Byakugan with the words, "So you can see through eyes that have only cried for you."

Ayameko continues in her role as Sankage.

Yodai Touho, before her coronation as Windspeaker, was a troubled woman. Nights of dreamless sleeps and sleepless dreams wore at her confidence, at her faith in herself, until her soul was exposed to the elements that govern the realms of body and mind. For most, an exposed soul leads to trepidation, and to doubt, and eventually to the great sleep - but not for Touho. Touho persisted, despite her exposed soul, and faith brought her back from the darkest place she had ever been in. It has been said, all too often, that once you reach rock bottom there is only one way to go - up. From the depths of despair did Touho rise, opening herself fully and truly to Fuujin, and she prospered.

Windspeaker Touho was never particularly determined or passionate in her youth - days would sail by, and she would sail by with them, idly waiting for something exciting or interesting to happen to her. She had daydreams of fantastical adventures, of a higher purpose, and occasionally of what life could have been like if she had taken a different path. For one who dwells in the dark recesses of the idle mind, the light can become hard to bear, and so did Touho retreat further into the depths of imagination. For the longest time she was stuck there, waiting for something to bring her unrealistic dreams to fruition, until before she realised it she was living her life inside a dream, only waking when she retreated deep into slumber and imagination.

Truth is a light that reveals everything - for better or for worse - and for one so used to the darkness the truth can be unwelcome. The truth offers no comfort, only the harsh gaze of reality, and Touho was used to nothing but comfort for most of her younger life. When shown the path, confronted with the great light, it seems like the best thing to do is retreat, and retreat Touho did until she was back in the comfort of the dark. Change rarely comes easily, but despite her initial apprehension Touho soon begun to see sense, to see the illusions that she had wrapped herself in for what they were, and turned to the light with her exposed soul. The light changed her, not because she saw some grand truth and was stricken by epiphany, but because her very soul was exposed to the universal truth - and at that moment she truly began to believe.

After that, Touho had a life of purpose. She was a Windspeaker, one committed thoroughly to Fuujin, and she used her newfound faith to give herself purpose. She is dedicated to her path, and she knows full well that she cannot retreat into the dark like she did as a child. This inner strength has shown itself multiple times, allowing her to make decisions that weaker beings would falter at, and allowing her to live full well with the consequences of her actions. Perhaps it could be said that she has little appreciation for life or anything she does not deem holy; that may well be true, but it gives her the strength to do what she feels she must, and her convictions are true enough to justify her actions - at least, they are to her and to Fuujin.

Touho is polite, well-spoken, and above all else kind. She may not have suffered the awful fates of some, but she knows that only chance spared her from such things and she shows the compassion and mercy towards the broken and less fortunate people that she feels they deserve. She looks after the lessermost people under her care, and through everything cares for them as much as she cares for herself. Certain values are expected of those who claim to be closest to any deity, and Touho delivers fully on these expectations. She is not kind for fear of damnation, or for any corrupt reason, she is kind because she sees herself a hundred thousand times over whenever she looks at anybody less fortunate than herself, and she would never wish the fate of the less fortunate on anybody because she knows how close she was to becoming one of those people.

There are few truly good souls in the world. Most are marred by imperfection and sin, and even those that claim to be truly golden hide behind a thin veneer of hubris. Perhaps Windspeaker Touho is one of these truly good souls - or perhaps she is not. She does not know, and for the most part, she does not care. Windspeaker Touho burdens herself only with her god and with her people - and for her people, there is no decision so hard that she cannot make it. Brutality and lack of emotion may enter into her heart, for a time, if a situation demands it - but above all else she cares for her people. Everything she does is for their wellbeing, and for the prosperity of her god. If this does not make her a truly good soul, then she is not a truly good soul - and at the end of the day, she cares little for titles.



【History】

"Until Fuujin found me, all I knew was hunger. I hungered not only for food, but for purpose, for a reason to go on. Now I have found that reason - or, more accurately - that reason has found me." - Windspeaker Touho

The woman known as Windspeaker Touho started out life as an orphan, her father dead before her birth and her mother dead giving birth to her. In Shimogakure, this was not necessarily an uncommon fate. There were two major paths for an orphan in Shimogakure - to go to an orphanage, where you would be beated, mistreated, and probably dead within five years... Or to go to the Temple of Fuujin, to be raised as an acolyte, and to be given purpose. Few were given the luxury of the Temple's life, but Windspeaker Touho was chosen - it was said that there was a presence about her that made the priestesses think of Fuujin, and in that respect she was worthy to join the temple.

Touho's early life - or what she remembers of it - was a mixture of chores, scriptures, and more chores. Life was not easy, but every day she ate well and she was kept warm, which was not a feat that all of the inhabitants of Shimogakure could boast. She felt content with her simple life. Days rolled by and as soon as Touho reached the correct age, she was trained in the arts of the Ninja, that she might serve her new god better. At this point, Touho was an arrogant teenager, and she thought she knew everything. She began to doubt that Fuujin even existed, lost faith in the scriptures she had been taught, and rebelled against the system that had spared her from death.

One night, after a particularly intense day of training, Touho found herself at the altar to Fuujin, questioning why she had been put on this path. She must have made some noise, for the revered priestess heard her, and she came over to comfort the young Touho. She explained that Fuujin's winds crossed many paths, and that while the current state of affairs may have seemed bleak, it was just a point on the journey leading Touho to her absolute destination. All she could think was that the revered priestess was full of herself.

Over the years, Touho's training increased and she became increasingly adept at Fuujin's arts, and she began to see more and more how right the revered priestess was. She dedicated herself to Fuujin's cause entirely, opting to join the military ranks of the priesthood, and continued down the path that she was set on. It was the least she could do for the people that saved her from an otherwise horrible life. Around when Touho was nineteen, the invasion of Shimogakure began in order to cut Kumogakure off from the path of the Bijuu's destruction. The temple of Fuujin was left intact, and none inside were harmed, but Touho could not stand idly by while the rest of her townspeople suffered. She sought to repel the invasion, to single-handedly fight off the forces of an entire village, but she was quickly overwhelmed and taken as hostage.

Following brief negotiations, Touho was released back to the temple and Kumogakure took over the land of Frost entirely, beginning the construction of their wall and the assimilation of the land into the Land of Lightning. Touho hated her oppressors with all of her heart, and begged Fuujin for the power to take back their land, but her prayers fell on deaf ears. She resolved not to lose faith, to see that Fuujin wanted her to prove herself through her own merits, not through divine intervention, and to overthrow the oppression that had dawned upon her.

In Kumogakure proper, Touho met Akaritori, a foreign swordswoman who spoke for justice, and the two conspired to plan murder most foul. Akaritori, despite being a nonbeliever, understood Touho's convictions and helped her understand that justice was justice, regardless of whether or not it was in the name of a deity or within the name of a person. All that mattered was that past wrongdoings were rectified - and for once, Touho agreed. Thus began the coup of Kumogakure that was.

Since then, Touho installed an even larger temple to Fuujin in Yamagakure, and proclaimed herself Windspeaker, leader of the Military arm of the temple, and joint Kage with her close ally Akaritori.

Description: By channelling a constant sphere of wind chakra around herself, Windspeaker Touho is able to levitate as if held aloft by currents of wind. She gains a sphere of influence around herself with which she can manipulate wind in myriad ways. The sphere extends six feet from Windspeaker Touho in any given direction. While within the Megumi no Fuujin, Windspeaker Touho is immune to all friendly Fuuton techniques. Windspeaker Touho’s control over the wind is so proficient that she is able to essentially fly.

In addition, instead of performing handsigns, Windspeaker Touho is able to invoke symbols of Fuujin with simple movements that are not necessarily restricted to movement of the hands/arms.

Description: Windspeaker Touho creates innumerable blades of wind invisible to the naked eye within the confines of the Megumi no Fuujin. The blades cannot leave the sphere, but are so sharp and numerous that almost anything that comes into sustained contact with them will suffer immense damage. The blades can be condensed into single, visible blades that can be launched outwards from the Megumi no Fuujin at a significant reduction in power. The blades are shaped like crescent arcs, and despite their relatively reduced firepower they move very quickly and are difficult to avoid.

Akaritori is a woman scarred by the horrors of this world. Once, she was a champion of the Light, of purity and chastity and virtue. Those times died when her family did, and after the atrocities that Akaritori witnessed, she has taken her light to a darker place. Once, Akaritori was a kind woman who wanted to spare the world from its pain. She worked day and night to learn the arts of the sword so that she could stand up for those who could not take up arms themselves, and though she did not realise it, a great evil was born with her - for with conviction there must be absolute belief, and absolute belief brooks no threats to its authority, imagined or otherwise. Akaritori was virtuous to the extreme - she believed that all life, no matter how marred by imperfection, should be protected - for life is a precious gift, and squandering it is a great crime.

No matter how strong one's belief becomes, it should never define them. Conviction should never become the singular facet upon which the delicate balance of the mind rests, but for one as fervent as Akaritori, this downfall was perhaps inevitable. The worst moral crises are those that the mind has imposed on itself by virtue of its own conviction, and it was Akaritori's great faith that finally broke her spirit - for her faith was so great that mere facts could not shake it, and this staunch belief was turned against her. When one life claims another as its own, what can one who believes that all life is sacred do? Akaritori could not hold on to her pristine ethical code and simultaneously save the lives of her people, and this raged inside of her like a great battle for many years - each life she took trying to prevent more of those who she had grown up with from being assimilated brought her closer to her demise.

It is not easy to wash out the blood on one's hands - especially that which is only imagined - and just as each death killed a little spark inside Akaritori, each life she saved brought her closer to the light. For a warrior so ensconced in the light which she so firmly believed in, Akaritori was blind to how it blinded her, and she wandered alone in the dark, unable to see for all of the blood she imagined was dripping down her face. There is only so much that a single person can endure, no matter how brilliant their light may be, and the brighter the light that sustains you, the darker the shadow it casts. The shadow of the candle looms tall even as its light grows dim, and the longer the shadow, the greater the darkness that will inevitably consume it.

Now, Akaritori is but a husk of her past-self. Her core remains sacrosanct, but the morals that surround it have fallen to the darker side of the psyche, and where once a desire to save all life was fostered a great rift has formed, a rift that has consumed purity with vengeance. The innocent must always be protected, such is true to her core, but Akaritori can no longer bear the pain of her failures, and she targets evil indiscriminately. She vanquishes those who have fallen to the allure of "black magics" with the same conviction she once would have fought for their life with, slaying them before they can harm so much as a single innocent with their selfishness. After her fall from grace, Akaritori became much darker, much more prone to fits of grief-driven vengeance. She has become a woman who hunts the forces of night ruthlessly, and is eager to condemn all those who would harm the innocent, even at the cost of everything else.

After finding Windspeaker Touho, Akaritori has begun to reclaim parts of who she was, and in the same vein parts of her have died - she is a fairer, more just individual that is not wont to reckless acts without provocation. Still her heart seethes with rage at the injustices that occur in the world, still her mind burns with the desire to cleanse the impure, but she now has more temperance and patience with which to bolster her almighty power - and those under her have benefited greatly from it.





【History】

The woman known as Akaritori began her life in a peaceful city from across the seas known as Alaria. Exae was a peaceful and prosperous city, with three main districts - Exae, the home of Law, Nykt, the home of Mystery, and Naya, the home of the Wild. When each of the districts of Alaria worked together, the results were legendary, and the city glowed among its brethren like a glittering jewel, a marvel of the works of cooperation and the human spirit. There were times when one or more districts did not cooperate, such was expected, but they were far and few between. Alaria was a glorious city of progress, and all of its inhabitants lived in a golden age. Akaritori was brought into the world on the back of perfection, and she was raised to do nothing else but bask in its glow.

Akaritori was always a happy child, even from her first day in this world. She was never too problematic, never cried too much, and her parents would swear that she'd sleep through the night just so they could get some rest. Love was abundant in the life of this particular child, and it shaped her, over years, into a beautiful child. Akaritori's hair glittered like the sun, and even her body had an almost papery translucence to it, shimmering with all of the hues of the sun. Akaritori was radiant, and her parents knew what that particular fact meant: Akaritori was born with the Hokori no Exae [Pride of Exae]. Gifted with the rare genetic mutation that happened semi-frequently in the city, Akaritori's destiny was carved out for her from the second she could walk.

Though the love never left her life, its presence was withdrawn when Akaritori was taken from her loving family to be trained in Exae's arts of swordplay. It was expected that members of the Pride would be proficient in all of Alaria's customs, from Exae's swordplay to Nykt's artifice to Naya's compassion. Each of these lessons were taken well by the young Akaritori, but she demonstrated by far the most skill in her home district's abilities, those of Exae. Akaritori grew up to be an exemplar of the values that Exae held above all others, and she was chosen to be the Champion of Exae, the fated hero who would guide Exae to a shining new destiny. Many had forgotten that the title of Champion had been the result of a prophecy where doom would come to Alaria. Most, but not all.

It was on her twenty-first birthday that Akaritori was approached by a hooded woman, in the colours of Naya, who pressed a letter to her chest and said: "Persevere, for the darkness encroaches. Seek out Ophiuchus, Keeper of the Precepts.". The letter - white ink on black paper, and the seal of Nykt upon its edges - which warned her of the upcoming battles she would face. Akaritori, a woman who had always been a champion at heart, could not ignore the dark portents that had been revealed to her and she sought out the woman in Naya who had sent her the letter. She found nothing but dust. For three years, Akaritori pressed her concerns to the back of her mind, and continued on her duties as a protector of the innocent. When she turned 24, she woke up one morning to find the letter that she had received three years ago on her bed, with new writing replacing the old. There were only two words on that piece of paper, but the scrawling script and eldritch curvature of the lettering chilled her to her core:

"We arrive."

Akaritori immediately took up arms to find the mysterious beings that had changed her letter, but after a day her search ended with nothing. She chose to retire to her chambers, but as the sun began to set the encroaching darkness revealed signs of a plague within Exae. The next few days are what shaped Akaritori's entire life. After a few days of careful study, it was determined by the healers of Naya that the plague was no ordinary disease, but was a parasitic organism that consumed the mind of its host and used the flesh to build itself a body before roaming to infect others. Very few people were initially infected, but the plague spread quickly if left unchecked, and so much as a single escapee could devastate the entirety of Alaria. Fortune had it that as the plague hit Nykt had a massive argument with Naya about the price of ore and other materials, and despite both Naya and Exae's urging to Nykt that the plague was more important, the council of Nykt would not listen, and withdrew all of their support to Exae, sticking exclusively to their own district.

It was not long until Nykt fell to the plague - three weeks and not a single sound except the crunching of bones and the screams of the damned could be heard from Nykt. Exae and Naya quickly banded together to fight off the army of plague, and a state of war was declared. Exae and Naya both called upon their greatest champions, and the Pride of Exae was to lead the charge into Nykt. Akaritori agreed to the charge readily, and lead the most powerful members of the Exaean Caste to war. The war waged for many years, and in those years, the outskirts of Exae and Naya both fell to the plague, but the corruption was stymied enough that as a whole, the two cities managed to survive. Akaritori was largely successful in her campaign to root out the corruption in Nykt, and after four long years she had managed to save as many innocent lives as possible. The Nayans and Exaeans had managed to halt the corruption in those infected, but they would never be able to cure them. It was enough to survive, but not enough to save the innocent. That was a trade that Akaritori simply was not willing to accept, and she pushed the council to find a definitive cure.

At long last, the combined efforts of Alaria managed to halt the spread of the plague long enough that, finally, Akaritori could take a breath and relax. She went back to Exae, and she asked the magistrates if she could see her family. The reply was swift and brutal: Akaritori's family had died within the first year of the war, overcome by plague before they could evacuate. Akaritori was never told for fear of her becoming too mournful to fight. Akaritori left Exae quickly, and fled to the ruins of Nykt where she began to mourn for her family. As she thought about her family, her sadness gave way to an incredible rage - the loss of everyone she had ever loved, and she had not known for six years. She was furious at the Exaeian Council for not having the decency to have told her, and in a fit of grief Akaritori plundered the last remaining archives of Nykt's knowledge. She learned of the true power of her Pride of Exae, and it was decided:

For her family, who had never gotten a proper funeral, Akaritori would make a funeral pyre of Alaria.

As Akaritori wept, she pointed her sword towards the heavens and asked whatever gods there may be to grant her the strength to avenge her family, to avenge the innocent, and to punish the corrupt that had destroyed her home and her life. No gods answered, but the power that lay deep within her heard her earnest plea and with that power she burned all of Exae to ashes. The pathetic neatness of Exae was nothing before her rage and her grief.

From that day, Akaritori was broken. She was a corrupted shade of who she was, and she vowed only one thing:

Nobody else would suffer like she had. She would protect the innocent, and she would rip apart anybody or anything that attempted to stay her hand. She would seek out the "Keeper of Precepts" that the woman had mentioned for answers about why Exae had suffered - if she could not avenge them, she would learn why they had to die. The woman proved difficult to track down, initially, and Alaria held no more answers for its disgraced champion.

After so long searching, Akaritori gave up, unable to continue in her fruitless search. Of all of the Hidden Villages, Kumogakure spoke to her the most, for the injustice within was strong, and her strong emotions needed somewhere to be vented. For years she bided her time, publicly opposing the reign of the Raikage, until Windspeaker Touho came along - another person who cared for justice. The two formed a fast alliance, and before long completely overthrew the old regime.

Description: An advanced set of goggles designed to protect Akaritori’s eyes from the intense light that she wields. The lenses are tinted so that the light she commands does not blind her without hindering her own moves. The goggles have also been technologically modified to be able to sense heat using thermal vision, and they have a setting to detect the bouncing of light waves much like a geographical graph would display isobars, allowing her to truly detect most people despite their efforts to hide. These tinted goggles prevent all eye-based genjutsu that would work on Akaritori. The goggles have a powerful zoom function that allow Akaritori to view targets in focus from approximately a mile away.

Appearance: A set of white “binoculars” that constantly cover Akaritori’s eyes. The binoculars are made of a white plastic, with tinted black rectangles where her eyes are. They are not particularly thick, only about an inch, but she is never seen without them.

Description: The Hokori no Exae is an odd kekkei genkai offering the user access to a realm of supercharged and condensed light. This realm of light is not fully accessible to any user of the Hokori no Exae, but instead allows the users to “bleed” the light from it, infusing it into their bodies and creating areas suffused with large amounts of this light. This light has various properties, but as it is supercharged a small amount is very bright, often causing users of the technique to glow. The main ability of this light is that users of the Kagayaki are able to transfer the powerful light into other forms of energy - namely Kinetic energy, Heat energy and Electrical energy. The Hokori no Exae is typically manifested as a set of angelic wings, as is the case with Akaritori and has been known to give the user a Halo as well, which is often seen as an exertion of energy - like a second form of the Kekkei Genkai. The user is only able to access this realm of light via special seals, however, and if they wish to create an area of light they must clearly mark the area with seals.

Users of the Hokori no Exae find that they are much stronger than the average person, and, in fact, than most ninja due to the immense light energy running through their bodies that is converted to other energies, which passively trains their muscles as if they are constantly working out, and thus gives them incredible taijutsu ability.

Description: Akaritori forfeits the use of the wings of light, taking them and a vast quantity of light energy into her body as a replacement. For the next two minutes, Akaritori’s assumes the form of an elemental, replacing her physical form with pure light, increasing the power of her techniques greatly but simultaneously removing her ability to use all of her previous techniques except Shukuchi and Asaborake no Shihō.

While ascended, Akaritori is immune to physical damage (from weapons and elemental ninjutsu, etc.), but is more vulnerable to techniques that disrupt chakra and such, and she is no longer gated by use of her wings of light. Her light-based techniques are roughly twice as damaging, and she is able to perform incredible feats of movement, such as being able to run on any solid surface due to her weightlessness. Akaritori’s speed increases dramatically in this form, but she is unable to deal physical damage of any kind.

If used on a single target, the technique changes to be more offensive, not only restraining their movement but exerting incredible pressure upon them that threatens to crush them if they are not physically strong enough to resist. Kiken is a very likable individual for most. A reliable friend, a pleasantly calm personality, Kiken was often sought after by his peers when they needed someone to talk to. He takes life seriously, but not at the expensive of living it. He loves problem solving, but can have difficult focusing on a singular problem - often moving to other projects when he stalls out on another.

【History】
Kiken is the son of the Mastersmith Iyo. Kiken's Great-Great-Great Grandfather was said to have been the one to forge the Totsuka no Tsurugi. Kiken does not know who his mother is and Iyo does not talk about her.

Kiken was born and raised in Kyokujitsugakure. His father, a close friend to the Sankage, allowed him a variety of opportunities that others may not have been afforded. At 16, Kiken graduated the Academy, which is not terribly common for their nation (typically people graduate at 18 - a practice brought over from the Land of Rivers). However, Kiken was afforded a special waiver and allowed to become a gennin, along with another girl, Yui at the age of 16.

During the academy, Kiken preformed above most of his peers, but suffered from a wandering mind. Frequently he would zone out during his lectures, spending the entire time scribbling on paper, drawing various schematics and formulas. While the academic banes of Kiken, they also contributed to a lot of his success. It was noted very early that Kiken possessed the ability to mix multiple chakra natures and keep them in incredible balance.

Kiken's life has been relatively peaceful. Born during the restoration of the nations, he's witnessed many of the changes his village has undergone - changes he has benefited from. Because of the relative peace, he has nearly no field experience, relying solely on theory.

Kiken has spent most of his youth tinkering with various contraptions utilizing his KG. He calls himself Kyokujitsugakure's Shodai Gijutsu Shinobi (First Technology Shinobi).

Description: After preforming the required handsigns, Shinsei Hoshi creates a fast moving, low damage projectile of a sparkling white-gold light. While low damage, Shinsei Hoshi possesses two effects. The first, it creates a burning trail of sparks in its wake, trailing upwards of 20 feet behind the projectile, as well as at its chosen impact point, which creates a 10 ft radius explosion of sparks.. These sparks mark a target, allowing for Kiken to easily sense their location. Since the Hanabiton chakra does not actually enter the enemy's body, it is not simple to remove his sensory abilities from this technique. Further, the sparks frequently stick onto physical bodies the come in contact with. The second, and most significant ability, is for Kiken's subsequent ninjutsu to be drawn to these sparks.

"Yuuko"
A knife that, while passed down alongside Ao, has no relation to the Curse. Still, it has been forged using an ancient technique, and proves an unbreakable opponent when faced with all but other objects of enchanted origins. Its blade is no sharper than any similarly designed knife, but its strength lies in the fact that it can stand up to great force without breaking, and intelligent use of this trait can allow its wielder to escape a wide variety of situations. Once praised by Ryuuko's mother as being a "Reliable weapon", where Ao is "Treacherous and cruel."

"Ao"
An ancient sword that should have been reduced to nothing long ago, but remains intact due to some powerful force. This is the blade that once plunged through the heart of the Blue Eyed Demon, and it possesses a unique ability of its own besides simply functioning as an extremely effective killing tool. When the blade is on its wielders person, sheathed or not, it will possess a strange ability to sense blood lust. When unsheathed, the user can read the vibrations through the grip of the blade and use it to tell the location of whatever blood lust is nearby. It's unknown whether the blade had this ability before it had slain the Blue Eyed Demon, but the ability seems very closely tied to Ryuuko's curse. When in a Battle Trance, Ryuuko's blood lust is so strong that the blade vibrates continuously, significantly increasing its cutting power.

Description: The Susumu family originally obtained their Kekkei Genkai when the clan’s founder made a clandestine bet with a powerful demon and won - rather than pay up honestly, the demon forced the man to suffer his hubris by making it impossible for him to weave jutsu that did not destroy everything that he loved. Through years of careful asceticism, the clan prospered, but he never shared the secret of how he obtained his strange Kekkei Genkai.

The main power of the Kekkei Genkai is to alchemically transmute materials into gold. It was originally considered forbidden, as the transmutation could only be created by use of an elaborate blood ritual that would turn a living being to gold, but careful refinement of the principles of chakra use have rendered the technique more benign and usable outside of its macabre origins.

By flowing the user’s chakra through an object with the aid of a seal, which is typically tattooed onto the practitioner’s hand, the atomic makeup of the recipient object is rearranged to become gold. The process is very energy inefficient, but the seal permits use of the energy created by rearranging the subatomic particles to be used in the transformation, mitigating the costs and preventing needlessly large explosions.

Description: The Hand of Midas is the most basic of the Susumu clan’s transmutation techniques, requiring only the unique chakra that the bloodline confers to be used. The purpose of the technique is twofold, and has to distinct modes that can both be used in various fashions to accomplish different things.

The first method simply transmutes base metals or rocks into gold. The gold is a hundred percent pure, but is unstable for upwards of an hour due to the absence of the seal, which would normally stabilise the atomic makeup.

The second method uses the principle of the transmutation, but does not actually turn the object into gold. The object is destroyed, and releases a tremendous amount of energy as it disintegrates, creating small explosions. The disintegration can be on an atomic level or a less fine level, allowing the clan to easily turn rocks and such to dust.
