I know you are humans. I simply thought you were intelligent humans. I assumed everyone was familiar with the rules of a real prison and if they weren't they would ask questions. I have no problem with people asking questions.

Your intellect has nothing to do with your understanding of how life may work inside of a prison cell. That is based purely off experience. For all you know, some of the people here may have been sheltered by their parents their whole life and not even come close to so much as interacting with a criminal of any sort. Then there are people who may have been in jail and actually do know what it is in there.
Then lets not forget that this is a roleplay -- and rules of realism are almost always restructured a little to make room for more interesting story development.

I've read back that your threads are frequently "bombed" by people breaking the rules and things of that sort, yet looking back, not one of your threads has a listing of the rules. Rather than pointing fingers and blaming such occurrences on others, take responsibility. Find a solution.

In this case, the solution is simple: List out the rules prior to beginning a roleplay thread. You will still get people breaking rules even then, but it will happen far less often.

The problem with is that I dont know what rules to post until someone does something stupid. I realize that I am older and have more experience then most people do but these things seem pretty basic to me. I would never disrespect a Gm by giving my character a weapon without approval. I would never attack a guard without knowing exactly how far I could go with it. I would never attack another character without checking with the writer.

You have experience with previous threads of yours being bombed, and there are several occurrences that have taken place in this thread already. List out rules restricting such things from occurring again, and yes, you even have to put down the simplest of rules (ie: No mythical/supernatural beings permitted). Some people just don't get it on their own, but that doesn't mean it's right to put the blame solely upon them.
I can understand it is time consuming -- trust me, I know -- and frustrating to do all that just so you can enjoy a solid roleplay experience, but without it you will just be destined for disappointment on a daily basis.

So I should treat everyone like there are 6 hand have no concept of common curtsy. That is very sad. I will sit down and make a list of rules for my kindergartners then. That takes away from my enjoying my own RP. I am in several RP and most of them dont have a list of rule and they dont suffer these kind of problems.

If you don't like it, then there are two separate routes you can go down.

1) Simply don't start threads of your own, leaving others to moderate for you
2) Don't complain

You are dealing with a large group of people, so yes. You have to act as though you are creating a thread for children.
As for why the other threads are not having such issues, it could also be narrowed down to your disrespectful behavior. I am here giving you genuine tips on how to maximize productivity in your threads, and you have insulted your writers at three different points -- and even more than that as I've seen while scrolling back pages before I've come in. You will not be respected if you cannot respect them.
Don't forget that this is all roleplay, too. There is no "winning" in roleplay and just because you started the thread doesn't mean you can act like you're above everyone else. Everyone here is your equal.

I have to disagree. With the last part, but I see your point on the first. I guess I expected too much. While these is a large group I thought they were capable of common curtsy. Since that doesnt seem to be the case I will create rules so that everyone know my expectations. You're right that I cant complain when I am the one not being clear. I dont mean to be disrespectful. If you can point out where I was I will look at the post and try to learn from them.

Ok lemme put in my thoughts.

First of all: I'm not here to tell anyone what to do.

In design 101, one of the first things they tell you is to keep it simple and easy for anyone. They told me that, when creating a product, you have to always treat the potential user of the product as if he or she was a complete and utter moron. Your user has NO pre-existing knowledge about anything, he is NOT willing to experiment and if anything is not entirely crystal clear and in their face they will NOT see or understand it.

This sounds rather extreme, but in my experience they are right. You can never assume a user will know the same things you do if you don't tell them. And it's the craziest shit they don't know. You'll be surprised time and time again.
And if they do know it already they'll happily skip past it without paying notice to it. No harm! More than necessary information never actually seems to offend people, it's when the information is delivered in a condescending tone when people get pissed.

A friend of mine learned this first hand when he heard time after time that he had to dumb his reports down. When he did a presentation about a game meant to be played by autistic preschoolers and gave the presentation as if directed at preschoolers. He essentially treated the teaches as toddlers (partly as a joke to fit the theme of the product, partly as a commentary to their previous critique). The teachers did not take it well.

Anyways. As for my own offense. The scalpel.
I had a good story for it. Made of surgical steel (doesn't tick of metal detectors) and hidden implanted in his leg! Pretty metal, no pun intended.
In hindsight I definitely should have consulted you though.
Hey, at least Jerid has the thing hidden and isn't openly flaunting it in public...

I simply assumed that most people here are teenagers are adults that have some sense of common curtsy. Weav3r is right I shouldnt get upset because you arent meeting my expectations. I should have written rules the first time there was a misunderstanding. I simply didnt want to because it mean I don't get to participate in my own RP. But now it is clear that the only way anyone is going to enjoy this is if I spell out everything.

Haha, you can probably still keep playing griffin don't worry. You don't have to police the story, just being clear on what are the IC and OOC rules and we can all keep civil I'm sure. And to be brutally honest, I probably have a slightly differing view of common curtsy than you do, as does everyone else.

I did kind off miss one thing. What's up with the speaker system? Did User have some kind of special job or something? I think I missed that. It's cool sure, but where does it come from?

Actually I can't by the time I come up with clear rule I will be too far behind. I havent been able to read a single post since the end of the free time so I have no idea what is happening. There is no speaker system I know of.
