This doesn't seem to be getting any hits in the section which I originally posted it, so I am going to put it here instead.

---

Don't be surprised that I'm not including a huge plot description here in this topic..before I come up with a plot idea, I'm first going to see if there is anyone that is even interested in getting involved in some modern-day realistic roleplay threads.
There's a multitude of stories that could take place in a modern-day setting, but I am hardly able to find any as I'm scrolling through the pages here. Is this a genre that everyone seems to simply stray from, or what?

One thing I can tell you for certain though: I will always be using the same set of characters (the Weavers). Their backstories may change a little depending on the backstory to the thread, but I intend for the backstory from one thread to mesh with another a majority of the time -- it's how I've always conducted my roleplay. It promotes great character development from my experience.

---

Since I posted this in the previous topic, people didn't seem too keen on the idea of going with a strictly realistic roleplay. I personally prefer to come up with my own characters, cities, and factions off the top of my head and then generate twists through my characters actually conducting plans behind anothers back, but I understand many of you want to create a roleplay with a twist already inserted.
There is one idea I have come up with, which I am more than willing to modify just a little bit to appeal to my fellow writers. Or if this idea doesn't work at all for you, we can collaborate and come up with something entirely different. All I ask is that we don't deviate from the original goal I am trying to set: Keeping the theme at least somewhat realistic. In other words, I don't want to exaggerate any mythical beings.

Originally, the presence of any mythical and/or supernatural beings was strictly forbidden by my standards. Though now I have come up with the idea of allowing them to become involved in any modern day thread I start..with some restrictions. One idea for a restriction would be that all mystical beings had been captured by a powerful corporation and are being held in isolation as scientists run tests on them without knowledge of outsiders and once in a while, for testing purposes, the beings are let loose in the streets to see if they can live normally among humans.

If you don't like it, then there are two separate routes you can go down.

1) Simply don't start threads of your own, leaving others to moderate for you
2) Don't complain

You are dealing with a large group of people, so yes. You have to act as though you are creating a thread for children.
As for why the other threads are not having such issues, it could also be narrowed down to your disrespectful behavior. I am here giving you genuine tips on how to maximize productivity in your threads, and you have insulted your writers at three different points -- and even more than that as I've seen while scrolling back pages before I've come in. You will not be respected if you cannot respect them.
Don't forget that this is all roleplay, too. There is no "winning" in roleplay and just because you started the thread doesn't mean you can act like you're above everyone else. Everyone here is your equal.

You have experience with previous threads of yours being bombed, and there are several occurrences that have taken place in this thread already. List out rules restricting such things from occurring again, and yes, you even have to put down the simplest of rules (ie: No mythical/supernatural beings permitted). Some people just don't get it on their own, but that doesn't mean it's right to put the blame solely upon them.
I can understand it is time consuming -- trust me, I know -- and frustrating to do all that just so you can enjoy a solid roleplay experience, but without it you will just be destined for disappointment on a daily basis.

Your intellect has nothing to do with your understanding of how life may work inside of a prison cell. That is based purely off experience. For all you know, some of the people here may have been sheltered by their parents their whole life and not even come close to so much as interacting with a criminal of any sort. Then there are people who may have been in jail and actually do know what it is in there.
Then lets not forget that this is a roleplay -- and rules of realism are almost always restructured a little to make room for more interesting story development.

I've read back that your threads are frequently "bombed" by people breaking the rules and things of that sort, yet looking back, not one of your threads has a listing of the rules. Rather than pointing fingers and blaming such occurrences on others, take responsibility. Find a solution.

In this case, the solution is simple: List out the rules prior to beginning a roleplay thread. You will still get people breaking rules even then, but it will happen far less often.

Alright, well I'm dropping out of the roleplay in that case.

Just a note for you: It always is necessary to include a set of rules in the original post. There will always be misunderstandings and disputes between your fellow writers, and a set of rules will greatly reduce their frequency. Remember you're not dealing with robots here; we are people too.

James arched a brow in curiosity when the woman insisted upon defying his order. After having spent so many years on top of the 'food-chain', so to speak, it wasn't something that the old man was used to. Most everyone he came across trembled with fear at the very sight of him. Still though, it was just something that interested him. As he wanted to weed out more of this womans personality, he was actually going to stall a bit rather than going right to getting what he was demanding.

"It would be easier for you to move and give me the bed." James said and took another step forward to close the gap between himself and the woman before he tossed a look over his shoulder to the neighboring cell, and then back to the woman. "Give me what I want, and it will be worthwhile in the long run." As if trying to reinforce his statement, his head bobbed up and down just lightly.
Before the woman could issue a response, one of the guards came knocking his baton against the bars with a loud clank to draw James' attention. When the old man turned his sights towards the new arrival the guard said, "Weaver, you need to come with us." And then opened the door just long enough so that he could be let out of the cell and escorted away from the block. James did not return after his departure.

Guys these would be individual cells.

You should really include a listing of rules somewhere on the original post. Without it, there will be plenty of confusion occurring between the roleplayers.

Though is it really necessary for there to be individual cells? Placing everyone in a cell of their own really narrows down the opportunities available to everyone here. I understand that realistically everyone would have an individual cell in a maximum security penitentiary, but when you are roleplaying -- you don't want to follow the rules of what is "realistic" and what is not to the T.

It's about having fun, not following rules.

James let his one eye skim across the womans figure after he was shoved into the cell with her and then looked over to the one available bed that was by the bars. For someone that had the goal to rule this prison from the inside, it would not be wise for him to put himself at danger by choosing the bed that would put him in danger night after night.

He lifted a hand up to his chin and would rub a single finger along the side of his jawbone as he thought for a moment, that one eye exchanging a glance back and forth between both beds, "Well this is different." The large man said in a vacant tone as he walked to the empty bed and lifted a foot so he could press his foot into the center and gauge if the springs would even be able to support his weight..which they couldn't. The moment his foot pressed down into the center, the springs would have pressed damn near all the way to the ground..and that was simply unacceptable.

So he then turned himself around to face the woman again, and took a single step towards the bed that she was intending to claim her own. "You are by the bars." James commanded and balled each of his lunchbox-sized hands into fists in preparation to strike at any given moment should the necessity arise.

Could there be mystical beings involved like vampires, hybrids, etc?

No. If there was, it would be extremely limited. If I were to allow it, then there would be restrictions placed on them.

One idea for a restriction would be that all mystical beings had been captured by a powerful corporation and are being held in isolation as scientists run tests on them without knowledge of outsiders and once in a while, for testing purposes, the beings are let loose in the streets to see if they can live normally among humans.
