Tyranus has a motto, "Hit hard, hit smart." He's a patient fighter that sizes his opponents up, and utilizes momentum to his advantage. He believes if an opponent is dumb enough to get within his reach, he must have done something else dumb that he can exploit for maximum effectiveness with least effort. If his opponent doesn't make the first move, he's not afraid to provoke them and try to throw them off their guard.

[Personality-]
Tyranus is a bit of a far cry from his namesake, he's not power-hungry, he's not seeking to be some evil dictator, he's actually easy-going on the verge of apathetic. He fully and consciously accepts the potential consequences of the game, but essentially views it as an extension of his life. On any given day he could've died in the real world right? This type of positing has kept his head level after Kayaba announced in rather dramatic fashion that they'd be playing for their lives. He almost enjoyed the ensuing chaos though, as he greatly enjoys sizing people up, perceiving their weaknesses and sometimes their preferences. Despite his semi-withdrawn nature, when interacting with others and in more intimate settings he exhudes an unmistakable swagger, and when it comes to friends he keeps many, but wholly trusts only a handful.

[Biography-]

Samuel Langston was born in middle America to a war hero and a mild-mannered school teacher. He played sports as a kid and through school, but he was intellectually starved in his hometown and found schoolwork to be so menial that he occassionally dismissed it, if he didn't finish it within an hour. He wanted access to a world far away from the dusty plains and tumbleweeds, so he took to the best economical option: the internet. He combed through forums and found his way into online games, picked up consoles and even built a custom PC. He ran into a bit of conflict along the way though, his father criticized him for not devoting himslef to the slim chances of becoming a professional athlete, and eventually gave Sam the ultimatum: move out or join the armed forces. This wreaked havoc with his mother's conscience, and when Sam made it to the last week of basic before being kicked out after suffering an injury from overworking himself by doing a series of advanced endurance exercises, and his father came to accept Sam as he was. With newfound free time in the late stages of recovery, he returned to games and to one in particular that was supposed to blow the others out of the water, one that all takes place in the VR world of Aincrad.

[Armor-]
Armor type: Light, Mixture of metal and leather and cloth. He wears a metal chestplate to protect from most strikes and padded for a little comfort, and leather pants padded with animal furs. Covering his hands are a pair of leather gloves lined with cloth, thick enough to provide extra grip on his sword yet thin enough for him to retain tactile sense of his blade's hilt. To protect his feet he owns a sturdy pair of leather boots, with steel toes for a small amount of extra toe protection. Purely because he thinks it looks cool, he wears a cloak of a dark but vibrant green, trimmed in black.
