Occupation :
Calais is a member of the Ranger Corps and such finds himself busy with a variety of duties. However due to his existing loyalties he also makes time to serve the head of House Rynir and whilst it is not known to most, on a couple of occasions he has even served as a cut-throat to his lord.

Favorite phrase/saying :
Before firing a hard shot (or before he attempts something risky) he will often whisper a prayer to Irtan. For example “Irtan, let my arrow find its mark”.

Favorite Food :
Calais has no favourite food per say, but is happy when given the chance to take part in a great feast. He does like his berries and such, and can live off the land better than some.

Favorite Weather and Season :
Calais prefers the dark, and as such his favourite time of the year is late Fall when the land darkens in colour and the nights grown long, but when the weather is still bearable.

Patron God/Goddess :
Calais was raised by his father to worship Irtan, the god of Luck and Chance. He will often pray and make tribute to Irtan, but unlike his father he has grown wise enough not to rely on him. Since taking on the role of cut-throat Calais has also begun worshiping Skelatia, although he rarely prays to her.

Personality :
Calais, having grown up so close to nobles has learnt how to properly present himself and could be mistaken for a noble himself. He always speaks with clarity, although his words often carry hidden barbs or jests. His humour is dark and he has no problem spiting those who he does not get along with. Though he could be mistaken for being sinister or untrustworthy, Calais is loyal to his house and the friends he keeps. That being said he does hold some resentment towards the younger lords, especially those he grew up beside.

History :
It is said that his family were once the heads of their own House and were regarded highly, but that his great grandfather placed too much faith in Irtan and lost much of his possessions and wealth through gambling. As a result they faded quickly and were replaced, and that in shame they moved far and took shelter with their friends, the House of Rynir. It is said also that his grandfather was no better than his great grandfather, that he also gambled often and was eventually killed by loan sharks who had grown tired of waiting. Bronthir, Calais’ father, was therefore brought up by servants of the House of Rynir and when he came of age became a loyal guard. This history meant that Calais and his father were held in good stead by the House of Rynir and were trusted well (although they were scorned for their choice of God, or rather their reliance on him).

Calais was brought up closely with the noble children and learnt all they did, for his father was friend with their teachers also. However as time went by and they got closer to their teens, the noble children began to taunt and bully Calais for his lesser status, to the point that they would not even mingle or play with him. This was in part due to their mother who believed that the lower classes (as Calais technically was) should know their place, and so encouraged her children to be wary of him. As a result Calais spent more time with his father training or with the hunters who taught him their ways. From the first time he touched a bow it was clear he was a natural archer, and he took to the darkness much quicker than most children. It was due to this that he attracted the attention of the Rangers whom recruited Calais at the age of 13. Unbeknownst to the Rangers however, by this age Calais already had developed a deep ingrained loyalty to House Rynir. Whilst Bronthir had no problem with his son becoming a ranger he was sad that he would not get to see more of him as Calais would spend most of his teenage years away.

By the time Calais reached adulthood he had become a very talented ranger, and now he is considered to be exceptionally skilled with bow even amongst the rangers. Moreover he is considered to be one of the very best when it comes to stealth, especially when in the wild where he can take to the trees (for he is an excellent climber too). However by ranger standards he is considered to be lacking in terms of his ability to track and live off the land, and isn’t as close to other rangers as he should be.

Over the last couple of years Calais has managed to spend more time in Hials and has rediscovered his loyalty to House Rynir, something which he has been careful to try hide from the Rangers. Given that House Rynir trusted him and his father so well and given his skill, Calais was asked on one occasion to assassinate another Senator who was proving to be more and more troublesome. Whilst Calais was initially unsure about this and felt that it went against his duty as a Ranger, he eventually complied and earned the nickname ‘Nighteye’ from his lord in order to keep his identity secret when messages were sent between them. Since this time Calais has only killed a couple of targets for his lord, and has spilt more blood fighting bandits and the like in the service of the Rangers. He has begun to worry that if he continues to spend time in Hial or perform tasks for Rynir that the Rangers may begin to question his integrity (if they don't already so).

Clothing and/or armor :
As any Ranger, Calais mostly wears one of their famous cloaks. The Ranger’s cloak is a mottled pattern of green and grey and is designed to camouflage the wearer perfectly into their surroundings. If however he is not on Ranger business he can be found to wear something like a dark tunic and a dark hooded cape. Whether wearing the Rangers cloaks or something else, Calais always discretely wears a leather muscle-cuirass beneath to provide him with some protection.

Description:
Calais was gifted the bow from one of the older rangers after entering adulthood. It is a longbow made of ancient yew and has been well treated both by its crafter and by Calais over the years. It is considered to be an excellent bow and could probably earn him a decent amount of coin were he to sell it. He named it whisper for it barely makes a sound when fired.

The Saxe Knife is quite a large and heavy knife. It is balanced to be thrown if necessary, but its main purpose is as a defensive blade in case the Ranger’s bow doesn’t keep the enemy at bay. It sits sheathed on his belt, but round towards his backside so that his cloak and body hide it.

Description :
Ebony is Calais’ ranger horse. Whilst she might not be anything noteworthy in regards to intelligence, she is loyal to Calais and will often kick up a fuss if anyone but him pays her too much attention. Whilst she isn’t the strongest or most powerful of horses, she is still fairly fast and her nimble frame allows her to navigate through tight spots (in forests for example) better than some horses.

Skill/Abilities :
Calais is an excellent archer and good ranger in general. He is adept when it comes to stealth, especially when in the wild where he can use the trees to his advantage (for he is a good climber too). Whilst he was trained by his father to use a long sword he never carries one for he finds them too large/cumbersome and has therefore grown very rusty in regard to using one. Whilst he carries a knife he is nothing special with the small blade and would do all that he could to avoid a straight fight with it. He can live off the land and can track but not as well as he should be able to.

Personality :
Richard is in general a reserved and cool person. He doesn't often open up to people that he deems to be unworthy of his time or when he has a feeling of distrust for them. When he is around family and loved ones, he tends to be a bit more open. Though he isn't one to openly admit his faults, doubts and deep thoughts, he is more willing to show a caring side to those who are close with him. He is a man that has little ambition, only wishing the best for his family.

He shows to have great respect of people that follow their words as well for nature. Though not a man that is very religious, Richard sometimes prays when he is desperate. But always prays for others instead of himself. Next to that, Richard is also a very loyal man, once he trust somebody he often is willing to accept their words and actions.

History :
Born to a father that was a men at arms in the service of the House of Rynir and a mother that was a maid, Richard grew up in the fortress of Hials. Together with two brothers and one sister, he didn't had a bad youth. Though being the third son in line, he managed to learn writing and reading from his mother. Something only he, his sister and the oldest brother ever managed to learn. As they didn't had that much money or were that wealthy, it became clear that the younger children of their household would need to find a profession where they could earn their own bread. Being a boy, it was a logical choice for a son of a low noble knight to join the military. Together with his younger brother, he went into service at the age of sixteen.

For the next five years, Richard would be trained and worked as a marksman in the Legion of Awom. Being trained in Hials instead of Deliar, he however met one day a girl he fell in love with. She, Breena Tinath, worked in a tailor shop that was owned by her. Because he often hunted on his free time and days, he would then try to sell hides to the tailor shop, in hopes of getting to learn the girl he fancied. After he managed to learn her name and woo her, he had managed to muster his courage and to ask her hand. Much to his own surprise, she said yes and the two married. In that same year, he became a father at the age of 19th. A year he would never forget.

On a patrol with the unit he was in, thus fifty soldiers, they got ambushed by deserters. A fierce fight broke out between the soldiers and deserters. Their tesserarius was killed, due an arrow impaling his right eye and piercing into his skill. Several more soldiers died that day before the unit managed to dispose of the deserters. It was Richard who had managed to rally the soldiers and lead them in an offensive back. Gaining respect for his quick thinking and leadership, he was promoted to become the tesserarius of the unit. But he also mourned the loss of his younger brother. He was one of the soldiers who died in that skirmish.

Until he was 23 years old, he stayed as a tesserarius in his unit. Then Richard decided he had enough of the Legion and offered his service and expertise to the House of Rynirs in Hials. He became a hunter and woodsman in their service. Though he didn't change that much, it became clear to some of his friends and those he considered close to him that he had changed a bit due the loss of his brother. It only became worse when his only sister died, because she fell of a horse and broke her spine. Though he didn't become so silent towards his daughter and wife, his friends noticed that he changed towards them. He became more quiet and observant than before, like he didn't want to become close with anybody for fearing to suffer the same pain he had felt before.

Now being 27 and almost eight years a hunter and marksman in the service of the Rynirs, Richard hopes he had gained his little bit of peace. That his family can prosper and his little daughter can grow up without being threatened by any kind of threat.

During his free time, Richard wears a garb that is more or less to not make him stand out. He wears often clothes like this.
Whenever he is hunting or might be called to service again, something he does fear now and then, he wears his old garb which consist of this protective gear.

Tall, wide and ugly. These three words sum up Jymson Fletcher immaculately. He keeps his head shaven, but allows his heavily greying beard to grow as far as his chest. His nose is misshapen, owing to several bar brawls of which he is often the worse off for. His skin is pale beyond his neck and forearms, but the flesh that is usually on display has a tanned quality.

His left eye is clouded over, owing to a drunken soldier’s reluctance to pay his tab. His right eye is a light blue, in homage to his once thick blonde hair.

Personality :
Jymson, for all of his flaws, is generally a very nice fellow. Common spoken, he melds well with the working classes that frequent his meager tavern. He is loyal to his peers, and holds the law in high regard – when it suits his life expectancy, that is. He treats women as if they were men, and men as if they were children, owing to his advanced age and long established indifference to the gender of his customers.

History :
Jymson Fletcher was born into a harsh world. As many like him. His mother, a seller of a local baker’s wears, hooked herself up with an Imperial soldier one fateful night. Nine months later, another child was born without a father. Jymson does not hold her lack of foresight against her memory, but is bitter on the subject of children, and does not wish to have any a result.

At the age of 8, Jymson’s mother died of a pox. Not willing to enter the orphanages of the Holymen, he turned to the rough and dicey life of a street urchin until he was chanced upon by a local inn keeper. From the ages of 10 to 43, Jymson worked hard as a barkeep, and both his body and mentality reflect a lifetime spent in that environment.

He is well versed in the brewing of ale, but has always steered clear of wine, believing it to be the foods of his social superiors. Over the course of his almost permanent internship, he won several local awards for the ales he brewed, which often brought him into conflict with the more established ale houses and breweries. Some of these conflicts were almost fatal to him, and so towards the end of his years, he has scaled back his operation and uses products manufactured by others.

When the owner of the tavern passed, from natural causes no less, Jymson bought the place for everything he owned plus a small loan from the Imperial Bank – a loan he has struggled to pay back. Though business is theoretically booming, and he gets through enough ale and meat to astound other local establishments, the climbing interest rates the bank have placed upon him are becoming steeper to scale. He feels they’re doing this on purpose, to clear him out and put someone else in his place; though why he has no idea. Still, it has earned him a deep mistrust of the Imperial establishment – something he is not afraid to share with the loose mouths of his patrons.

Personality :
Elora is a carefree young woman who enjoys working hard and reading books. She is known for her friendly attitude and sympathetic tendencies, but can come off as harsh because of her brutal honesty and inability – and unwillingness – to lie. While lacking charisma, she makes up for it with her geniality and general easy-going vibe. She wishes to open up a bakery because of her love for sweets and bread and her culinary skills. However, she is not passionate about a lot of things. She lacks motivation and does what she wants. She has no drive for her future and, whilst having a dream, would rather settle for inheriting her family’s business. Elora loves extravagant things and can be quite materialistic, though she tries not to be.

History :
Edlund Nicholi was a man with education in business and Edna Gregaris was a naïve woman with skills in tailoring. When they met, they opened up a tailoring shop and became clothe merchants. Two years into their business, Edna gave birth to Elora whom they began to raise to take over the family business. They taught her how to tailor, how to conduct business, and prepped her. When Elora was eight, the business began to rise and became a prominent tailor shop; the family soon became rich. Elora developed a taste for the lavish and was spoiled and doted on. This is what caused her lack of motivation, since everything was given to her.
When she was twelve, Elora became interested in the culinary arts and tried a hundred different dishes to experience the many tastes. Her parents, while they usually supported her in everything, were dismayed and embarked on many schemes to dissuade her from the culinary path. Their daughter was oblivious of these plans and went on her merry way. Upon reaching the age of seventeen, her parents had another goal in mind as well – finding Elora a future husband. The redhead was uninterested in the opposite sex and stayed in a cocoon of ignorance of the advances some have made. Presently, Elora works for her parents at the tailor shop.

As a low ranked soldier, Kareth is less involved with planning a battle and more concerned with weather or not he will survive it, and so eschews worship of Rolor for prayers and sacrifices to Skelatia, she who deigns who will be taken, either that she pass over him or ease his journey to the next life.

Personality:
Kareth is simply a soldier. He follows orders from his superiors without question and offers respect to those whose stations are higher than his. He is friendly and polite to those who don't know him, but once he feels comfortable with you, his coarse soldier side starts to show. He is blunt and has little patience for subtlety. He particularly despises the Northern Barbarians, and is rather vocal on the subject whenever it comes up. If he owes you a debt, either real or in his mind, he will do all in his power to repay it. He is not easy to intimidate (Legion veterans rarely are).

History:
Kareth came from a village to the north. After a barbarian raid left him orphaned at the age of 12, an Imperial officer from House Tinath took him in and raised him as a servant. There he received a basic education and a firm grounding in Imperial Virtues, though he was quite unappreciative at the time, later in life he became quite thankful for it. When he turned 16, he joined the Legion, and took to that lifestyle with gusto. He managed to attain the rank of Tesserarius for distinguished service against the Northern Barbarians. After 20 years of soldiering, as much as he enjoyed that lifestyle, he wants to settle down and raise a family. He now has returned to the City of Deliar, looking for work, and with his pay from the legion. He does feel that he owes House Tinath his loyalty for raising him, and has plans to go to them for work.

Personality :
Kimberly is a very friendly and loving person at first. She often looks very cheerful and talks in a pleasant manner. She is a person that doesn't instill any hostility towards you, but instead remains calm, friendly, polite with a friendly smile. However, this is all an facade. She is actually making sure nobody would distrust her as she has noticed that many people come to her for talking about all kind of things. And people. Using this to her advantage, she has managed to become a lady in waiting, something that wouldn't actually be possible for her. With being the youngest of her family, having one older sister and two older brothers, Kimberly managed to keep up the act to get so far what she want. However, what her true goal and aim is, is a unsure for now.

History :
Born to become a maid, much like her mother, in the service of the High House of Rynirs. All because she was the youngest of her siblings. Kimberly has always fought a battle since her birth, to avoid to become a mere servant for somebody else. Not that she was arrogant or prideful, but she was sure that serving somebody as a mere maid wasn't going to be something she would do till her deathbed. Neither was she interested to become a baker, like her father. No, she had her goal what she wanted to become already in mind when she was young.

Working hard, she managed to gain trust and friendship with ease as she learned how to do so. Using this continously at her own advantage, she managed to obtain the status of lady in waiting. It was because of her friendly (facade) nature that could make her an asset for the Lesser House of Perar. With this in mind, she would be educated or in her own words, groomed, to become a lady that would hopefully seal an alliance with a member of the High House, bringing the Perars closer to the Rynirs. History :
Breena grew up in a family of Nomads traders. Traveling and staying in many different places helped her family's wealth grow over time. Personality :
Owen often appears grim and cold to those around him. He has a very gruff exterior around people that he is unfamiliar with, but those that know him well know that his grumpiness is simply an act. Owen is very caring towards those that earn his trust and respect. He is strong willed, stubborn and fearless.

History :

When Owen was born, he was raised as a commoner, even though his family had ties with the Lesser House Fenix. There were rumors that his father was an embarrassment to the house, which resulted in Owen’s immediate family being cast out. The rumors were never proven, and Owen was too young to remember the true cause.

His father resorted to alcohol in an attempt to hide his shame, which only caused him to grow bitter and angry with the world. When Owen was six, his father’s anger grew to the point where he would find fault in nearly everything. This led to the beatings. Owen soon learned to make himself invisible. If he could stay out of sight, his father would not be able to punish him.

After years of hiding from his father’s wrath, being invisible became a second nature to Owen. He began to realize that he could go nearly anywhere and people would not even be aware of him. Owen found himself getting into more and more places that he didn’t belong, just to see if he could get away with it. It was a way to escape from his father, and Owen welcomed the challenge.

For a long time it appeared as if nobody noticed him. But, unbeknownst to Owen, a Ranger had been keeping an eye on him. The Ranger was impressed by Owen’s skill at hiding himself, and getting into places he shouldn’t have been able to. The Ranger approached Owen on one of his exploits, and, instead of punishing him, offered to take him on as an apprentice. Seeing it as a chance to get away from his father, and to travel and have adventures, Owen jumped at the opportunity.

Leaving his home, Owen went with the Ranger and trained for many years. He soon realized that being a Ranger was not all about fun and adventure as he had first thought. The training was very difficult, and there were many times that Owen thought about leaving. But then he would think back to his father, and his resolve would harden once again.

After he completed his trials and became a full Ranger, Owen was given his own territory to look after. He quickly became known for his skills with a bow, as well as his ability to seemingly disappear in virtually any setting. Owen did not follow the customary tradition of recruiting an apprentice for a long time. He worked better alone, or so he kept telling himself.

Owen became a highly trusted figure in the Ranger Corps and was elected into the Ranger Council. Although he has been patrolling the Hials region alone for many years, the rest of the council has been urging Owen to find an apprentice. Reluctantly he is starting to think that it might be a good idea, and has begun searching for a suitable candidate.

A Ranger is very rarely seen without their famous cloaks, and Owen is no exception to this. The Ranger’s cloak is a mottled pattern of green and grey and is designed to camouflage the wearer perfectly into their surroundings. The cloak is one of the main reasons that many fear the Rangers, thinking them to be sorcerers who are capable of rendering themselves truly invisible. Owen also wears light leather armour underneath his cloak that grants him some protection without impeding his movement too much.

Some would say that Leeson looks like a foreigner compared to some of his neighbors, such as his almond shaped eyes, fairly small nose, and other features. And while Leeson does not know exactly where his ancestors originate from (The furthest records are from his Grandfather's, who they only know migrated to Delias, but not from where), his father and his father before him were born and raised in these lands, and each one were a splitting image of each other regardless of the women they were birthed from.

Leeson himself has many scars and burns on his arms due to years in the forge, and his skin has darken to reflect this. One particular feature he tries to hide from the public eye is a scar that goes around his neck; savvy observers could tell that it would had come from a hanging. But since Leeson still lives, it's obvious that he was not killed by it. Not quickly anyways.

Personality :
As many of his community might tell you, Leeson seems to be a fairly solitary man. Sure, he would speak to people, make his appearance present, but even amongst a crowd he would seem to be alone. Always doing his work, and his time with others often involve their assistance in his work. He's not a trouble maker by far, and indeed if you went to him for help he'll be willing to offer it however he can. He could not simply say no, just try as hard as he can, even if he will fail anyways. But that's what an observation from the outside would be if you don't ask him what he thinks of himself. He would be honest; he does not know if he is a good judge of character, least of all his own. His only desires is to be a person who can be relied on when asked, and to not be a burden otherwise. Leeson is a romanticist trying to be a cynic; he believes and sees the world for it's good and it's benefits, but feels responsible for the flaws and issues, so much that he feels he must confront them regardless if he has any reason to be involved in the first place. In a better world, he could have been a knight in shining armor, wandering the world righting wrongs and doing good for the land for the sake of making it a better place. But he knows these are just fantasies, but even so he tries to make them realities, as small and insignificantly as they tend to be.

That being said, Leeson is not a nice person. He is not an honest person either, and frankly can come across as rather blunt, sometimes even aggressive. To Leeson, he is simply trying to establish himself as someone who is not going to allow others to try to push or manipulate him against his will. His attitude, be it subtly or blatant, is made to convey a sense of control over the situation at hand. Depending on who you are depends on how subtle he'll make his attitude; close friends are more likely to get extreme reactions from him, where as strangers get more neutral, apathetic responses. And while Leeson does believe himself to be an understanding and reasonable person, he is either lying or a worse person than he appears when he still gives harsh judgement regardless of the circumstances. He believes in equality, sure, but it's not a balance; if he were a judge you would be executed for your crimes, be it petty thievery or murder. His ability to stand by his beliefs regardless of the opposition is admirable, but not always right.

History :
Leeson is the first and only child of Lee the Armorer, a well known blacksmith in the city of Delias. His family's claim to fame was that they knew the subtle arts of sword making and armoring, two skills that often take a normal man years to learn, and not both together. Leeson's father would often boast that the knowledge is carried in their blood, and that the sons would know how to work with metal like how a baby would walk. But this was mostly boasting; Leeson was indeed talented in his profession, quickly taking up the hammer and tongs at a young age of ten years. But his crafts consisted mostly of kitchen ware and cutlery; it took him three years of constant practice every day of the week before he was even allowed to start making things such as axe hands and shovels. Leeson's father would have taught him how to create swords and armor when Leeson was at an adult age too, where it not for one fateful day.

It was the spring of 1295. Leeson was fifteen years of age at that time, and while a skilled blacksmith for his age, he was no where near his father's ability. His father could provide arms and armor for ten men in a week, something that made him rather famous in the city. If Leeson could match his father's skill, the two of them could have worked together and raised their family up to at least a low nobility. But Leeson wouldn't get a chance, not for three years. But during the spring of 1295, Leeson's father headed north towards Nuale, to sell their wares there during a grand festival of some sort. But Leeson's father never returned. A month passed since Leeson's father left for his trip, and when Leeson and his mother asked what had become of him, they could only discover that during that time, there was a high rise in bandit activity in southern Nurvlin. In all likelihood, Leeson's father was captured by the bandits, or killed. Leeson never saw his father after that day. And after that day, Leeson's life became to crumble around him.

His mother, grief stricken, married off to another man, a merchant, who left her only son to their family forge. Leeson himself, while skilled in the forge, had no experience on how to run it as a business. For a while, he tried to take care of the forge himself. He did rather well too, for about three years. But by then he soon discovered that for all his skills in working with metals, without his father's knowledge no one cared for what Leeson could do. Blacksmiths who could shape pots and pans were a dime a dozen; Leeson could hardly forge a decent dagger, let alone a masterwork weapon. He tried to get by as a mundane maker of tools and kitchen ware, picking up some knowledge in making chains, locks, hinges, even managed to make himself a fairly decent war axe, but as he grew older his business slowed down. Leeson knew that he had three, maybe five more years before his business would be forgotten, and he'd be forced to sell his family's forge just to survive. Leeson came to terms with his fate, and tried to live the rest of his life as comfortably as he could. He made friends with various people including a mine and smelter owner, and was sweet on an herbalist girl back in his community.

Cut to now, the 1302 year since the empire was formed. Leeson still owns his forge, albeit he only gets by providing pickaxes for the local iron mine and occasionally repairing weapons and armor for local guardsmen. Leeson spends most of his time at the forge trying to make works of art out of the materials he gets, which he can occasionally sale for enough money to keep his shop afloat. No longer concerned about trying to keep his forge afloat however, Leeson spent much of his time experimenting with whatever metals he gets, making them into shapes and things that he hopes one day would have great use in the future. Sometimes he and a few others in his community would sometimes come together at a tavern and write poetry and sing ballads for more money, but it was mostly for entertainment. When they weren't trying to earn money and company at the tavern, they would be out and about the city, doing foolish youthful antics. One such antics nearly ended with Leeson hanging himself, though he luckily managed to cut the rope before his life was snapped out. Nowadays, the fairly young smith is considering traveling the world, to find a place to settle down or die peacefully.

Leeson wears a dirty woolen robe of sorts that goes a bit towards his knees, pants, gloves, and a strange set of shoes. The robe was blue, but after many years in the forge, it's something of a coal black. He also has some gloves made of wool and deer leather, which he got so his hands would stop getting burnt in the forge. His footwear is strange in that it looks like fairly normal pair of shoes made of cloth, but inside there is wood at the feet, giving his footprints an odd rectangular shape. He also has a leather belt with many loops on it so that he made tie or hang things from them. He also still keeps his blacksmith apron on, which he mainly uses so he has pockets to store things in. The only form of armor he really owns is a hard leather helmet, which he found in the forest when he was looking for mushrooms to eat.

Smithing - Leeson is a very talented smith, and while the realms of making his own complicated weapons and armor are out of his reach, he has some experience repairing such things, and is more than able to make more mundane items such as kitchen ware, farm tools, chains, locks, and even has experimented with other things that people may either see as useless garbage or great ingenuity in disguise.

Reading/Writing - Unlike some commoners, Leeson is actually literate in the common script. While he's never read any books, he's something of an amateur poet and often writes in his journal his daily observations, notes, and poems.

Young and Healthy - Despite his appearance, Leeson is quite an athletic fellow, a fast runner and a bit of an acrobat (He can do a backflip). Could be considered a quiet type as he doesn't seem to speak out, but when he does, oh boy, he says a lot. Most of it is rambling, but if you could piece together his thoughts you might be able to get an understanding of what he's trying to say.

Leeson is fairly creative, though not to say that he's all that impressive with his creations. What he makes is quaint and maybe something worth conversing about, but hardly anything life changing. There is an itch. Something within me that demands its place in the sunlight. Out there my destiny awaits, no longer should I be shackled to the mediocrity of my parents. I am the only one that will see reason. We were great once. The tales of majesty, of brilliance. Yet we dine only on beets and the store is breaking apart. The taxes are breaking our backs. Father is gone, but can a man who did nothing with his life truly be forgotten? Is he simply remembered for what he accomplished? This is what awaits me too. A failing business and a mother bereft of all spirit. This is no life for the Farain family.

History :

The story of Erin begins a time before she was given a place in the world. When the land was yet in turmoil, the Warring Times, there was a man who distinguished himself. A brilliant strategist, fierce in mind as well as mastering the art of the sword. Though he came from no great family nor carried with him any wealth, his intellect bore him soundly through the unstable times. One of the lesser nobility swept him into their service as a weapon from the warlord's tent -and a bodyguard if necessary- and he held true to his skill, giving the righteous noblemen countless victories with his keen insight and trust in the soldiers. A legacy was born solely on his prowess. From the humble Arkan Farain, master strategist, would spring many a glorious tale.

Then, he fell. On a warm summers' eve, illness took hold of Master Farain. Though he successfully composed a final plan for the future of his masters, he was taken from the world, leaving behind him a wife and two children. Those children would grow up to become inspired by their father, and continued in service of their fathers' noble masters. Though neither of them would ever become brilliant strategists, they delved into advisory matters that they could flourish in, and carried the banner of Farain, humble though it may be.

The cycle diluted. The children that came after were likewise inspired by their grandfathers greatness, and though they never quite excelled at neither advisory roles nor strategy, the result was a new artistic bent to the Farain family line. They would become mapmakers and scrollkeepers, now that their noble masters would not see use for them anymore. They too had children, whom planted themselves in the legacy of their parents.

Erin Farain was born yet more generations after that, brought into a world where peace had now been the standard for some time. Though the tale of Arkan Farain was fondly told to her as she grew, she was to accept a fate as helper in her fathers' now failing store. At her fingertips were the preserved stories of greatness. Of the temporary glory that had been given to her family. Of what a brilliant mind could do. How could she not challenge herself to continue such a legacy, rather than rot away in apathy?

Her father took ill and vanished into history. Erin noticed how not even their few regular customers seemed to notice the change. Her mother turned to managing the store in silence. She too would suffer the fate of a failing candle, and noone would notice. They had become nothing. Fortunately, Erin had spent more than enough time poring over maps, scrolls and books in her contentious youth. She'd read up on strategy. She'd made herself nosier than she should in the workings of the land.

It would be her.

Lucilia is a stoic girl, good for a guard, not so much for everything else. It seems like she simply is apathetic to the world as a whole, like she wouldn't shed a tear at her own father's funeral (She won't). But it's just now she's learn to deal with things. Lucilia isn't one to likes to constantly create close personal attachments to everyone and everything; all things physical will be gone one day, and who is she to have to mourn the inevitable? Not that she won't feel sadden by it, she just learned not to show it under the impression that it makes her look weak. But aside from her stone-expression, she has a heart of gold. Or maybe silver, depending on how charitable she is that day. She didn't become a guard just to mooch off the power; she wants to take an active part in helping protect the people of the land, from the royal court to the lowly beggars. While she isn't afraid to dirty her hands in the name of justice, she also won't betray her principles and honor just to fulfill the letter of her credo. She wants to do good the best way she can; sometimes this means following the law, other times it means commanding the law itself.

History :
Lucilia's story began with a knight and a healer. The knight was deathly ill, stricken with a disease that had plagued his family for years. He sought to use his short time on this world to do good, but as he neared his end, he regretted that there was much more to do, and very little time to do it. That's when he met the healer. The healer saw his pain, and she worked hard to alleviate the worse of it. But she was able to do much more. She was able to cure him of his curse. The knight, no longer ill, was able to continue to fight for justice and honor. To thank the anonymous healer the knight took her hand in marriage, to live with him and his family. And that's the basic basics of how Lucilia's parents met. Her father was a knight of House Tinath, while her mother was simply an herbalist who happened to chance upon the knight's sicken body. It was a storybook romance that had a happy ending, that ending involving five children and a family who does well for itself.

As a child Lucilia always loved stories. tales from her father, mother, friends, extended family, complete strangers. The tales of fantasy drew her into a world that seemed magical and awesome. And she wanted to be part of a world like to, to be the hero who vanquishes great evils and brings happiness to the land. Lucky for her, her father was more than willing to show her the ropes of how to uphold justice. While her three older brothers were, at first, much stronger than she was, as they grew older her strength began to surpass their. Only her eldest brother could outdo her in strength and skill, so it came to no surprise that when he reached adulthood he joined the Legion, and attained the rank of Centurion before Lucilia would have been considered a young woman. She too wished to join the legion and fight along side her brother, imagining that he protects the land from the likes of criminals and the barbarians of the north.

And Lucilia was given that chance when she turned eighteen years old herself. Training since she was a little girl, Lucilia was one of the better skilled soldiers of the Legion. Thanks to her father's influence, she was indeed able to work within the same unit as her brother. But that's where this tale stops being so whimsical. Her brother's unit was sent to assist a Legion towards the north, against a growing barbarian tribe that threaten to overrun one of the smaller villages. The battle was a slaughter, but it also showed the true colors of the world. The barbarians, savage as they were, did not come across as mindless monsters in the shape of men. Instead they looked like a mass collation of desperate men and women trying to survive. Lucilia saw cruelty from her people worse than the villains she heard of in stories. This went on for years as her brother was stationed there. Only recently has Lucilia returned to her home city of Hials, where she spends most of her days patrolling the streets for trouble.

Haljon is an affable, boisterous character whose mood is rarely darkened. Out of battle he favors light jests and humor, though when in battle or nearing it he switches to dark humor. He is rarely grim, and makes for a hearty companion, one whose loyalty you need not question. History :
Haljon was born into House Perar, his father a man-at-arms and his mother of low-nobility. From a young age, Haljon had a keen interest in martial pursuits, and could often be found sparring in the courtyard or against other boys, including commoners (though this detail was much frowned upon by his mother). His father began teaching him swordplay at age seven, and while he mainly focused on these lessons, he also managed to learn to read and write, though his penmanship is horrid and his reading laughably slow. Haljon learned basic manners and some arithmetic, though he was never good at either. However, Haljon proved to have a keen eye for strategy and tactics, and he adored military history.
Haljon was formerly taken into his father's tutelage at age fourteen. By this time Haljon was the size of a full-grown man, and his growth showed no signs of slowing. By sixteen he would be taller than his father, who was considered a fairly large man, and by eighteen he would reach his full height of nearly seven feet tall. Along with his enormous size came a tremendous strength, and he was often compared to an ox in that respect. Haljon also proved to be a more than competent swordsman, and one with a surprising amount of speed and agility. Personality :
Valfunde views anyone as a potential enemy, trusting no one completely if he senses they're trying to convince him of something. His family have often called him paranoid, but often these feelings have a tendency to prove true (enough), and he's not often deceived. (This is mostly due to the traumatic actions which took his father from him.)Despite this, he respects strength of character and will, even grudgingly in his rivals. Calm and extremely sensitive to his own feelings and those of the people who surround him, he views the world as soberly as he can, knowing that the easiest way to survive is to create as little of a negative impact as possible. He's friendly and sweet-hearted, in spite of everything in his life that has tried to shape him otherwise. He usually looks to be deep in some detached thought, almost brooding. This makes many think he's distracted from the affairs of the world.

History :
Born in the heat of the Summer, Valfunde was one of the many sons of legendarily boisterous Marshal Alicyon Perar, who was at that time still serving far away from home with the Legion, having been sent away by his House to build a reputation for the family and himself. Val grew up in the wispy cold of the North, only having a chance to exchange layers upon layers of furs for his tunic when the summer came and the sun beat hard into the land. Despite his dislike of the frost, he learned quickly from the soldiers surrounding his charismatic father how to adapt to the temper of the land and even learned from them how to track beasts (and men) through it.

His mother, Dame Isolde, was a strongly-built woman well-suited to the land, and while she didn't dote on him so much as his older brothers, he grew to respect her and through her all other women due to the tough lessons she allowed him to learn alongside the commoner soldiers. From this was born a lifelong respect for the lower-born class, and he swore to these men he'd see them again someday. They laughed, thinking the scrappy young lad but a naive child to want to return.

He first saw Deliar as a youth of 11, when Alicyon returned home in a victory parade that led him finally to claim his seat at the head of his House. The city presented a new world to the boy, but he also found it full of liars, men who feigned honor only to have others cut their rivals down, and this bothered the naive fantasies that he had held about the Empire from watching his father. While not much is know about this time of his life by others outside the direct family, he had a serious mental breakdown after living in Deliar for the next five years. His ideals fragile and his personality now seemingly haunted and eternally lonely even around others, he stayed apart from the Deliar court and kept company with the Perar bondsmen, upon the agreement of his parents. Despite all this, he made good recovery from his mental illness and volunteered for Legion duties after a short stay at the Academy that refreshed his psychological need for his world of honor and swordsmen to exist.

Serving as an officer along the barbarian border, he led a series of minor raids along both sides of the line and was eventually given command of a small hunting squad which pursued escaped prisoners and political refugees attempting to escape the Emperor's justice. During this period, he was married off to the young Lady Joanne Tinath, eventually falling in love with her and bearing a daughter by her. Unfortunately, births in the North are difficult to recover from, and two months later, both mother and child had perished along with many others in one of the terrible fevers that reign in the winter. While this greatly hurt Valfunde, he soldiered on and served with great note after this incident. He retired from active command four years ago and returned home upon his mother's death, and was thankfully there to regain control upon his father's death. He definitely had never planned on being appointed to lead the House, but has tried his best since to live up to what has been asked of him, working closely with nobles already well placed in the social hierarchy to provide himself with a safe net within which to cast himself into this new game of politics...

Description :
An old sword, traditionally wielded by the Sire of House Perar, whoever he may be. While mostly a relic and ceremonial, its ugly history is one of bloodshed and much killing, having been forged long ago by noble ancestors who eventually founded the House long ago during the dark ages.

Long enough to be wielded better with two hands, but still short enough for urban combat. Unlike the image, it is more or less straight near the hilt, shaped like a leaf to the end.

He also carries a pair of hand-axes on his person, looped through his belt, should he be in need of them.

His steed, a stubborn asshole of a horse he affectionately refers to as the Ol' Bastard. Not the fastest horse, but sturdy and brutish enough to keep going long after a sprinter or charger would have broken down.

Personality :
Girvus is a rather devious person. It'already shown in his history that he is a very cold and ruthless man. One that is able to act like he is your friend, before making sure you won't see the next sun. Unlike his father and previous head of the Rynir House, Robert of Rynir, Girvus doesn't see much in honor and relevant subjects. He prefers to take something in the most fast way, even if he has to take down a loyal servant. Though this all knowledge known by a very few, seeing that on the outside and to the public Girvus is seen as a kind and very just man. If they knew better.

History :
Born in the High House of Rynir, the High House of Awom, Girvus never had the trouble of needing something. All he asked was delivered. Not to mention he had the best scholars in the province to mentor him and his brothers. But after the young Girvus turned twelve, something changed him. He became interested in some goals. He knew that there was a good chance that some would remain a dream, but even at a young age he was ambitious. But asking for help wouldn't likely get him to achieve his goals, nor demanding them. Thus began the young Girvus his first vile act on the age of sixteen. For it wasn't Girvus to take the seat of Rynir Head after his father would pass. But Girvus slowly would work his way towards it.

The heir to the High House was easily worked out. Girvus poisoned his brother, Irvo, in the night, claiming it was the deed of the brother, Markus. Using the fact that both had a great dislike for each other and Markus constant mumbling that he would show who was the true heir of Robert. With this act, he managed to take out two of his brothers out of the way. All that remained was to get rid of the next sibling, Cecil. The young girl of eighteen years old was now the heir and one step before Girvus. However, Girvus knew he had to be smarter. Cecil didn't had any public enemies or rivals, nor did she had caused any big fuss or trouble in the past. But patient as he was, Girvus waited for his chance. In the end, even the wise may choose a bad decision. And he would be there to lunge at his chance, like a hawk would do on a helpless mouse.

For three years, Girvus waited, plotting in the dark as he acted like he loved his sister. But what ever he tried to find out, he couldn't find something to drive a wedge between daughter and father. Furious by this decision, Girvus then decided to poison his sister and claim it would the vile work of some assassin, maybe an enemy to the House of Rynirs. But on the night he was trying to commit the murder, his sister caught him and avoided her death.

Cecil and Girvus began a three years war of influence on their father. Cecil trying to take out her younger sibling with staying honest and doing what was right. Girvus kept trying to take out his older sister, but to no avail. He wasn't afraid she would try the same things as him, but he was cautious. Cecil had likely figured out that it was Girvus who had caused the downfall of Irvo and Markus.

But finally, Girvus managed to make some success. As Cecil wanted to take a ride, he managed to hide a snake in the horse bag. Later, news would hit that Cecil had died due the snake bite. This was even something Girvus made to his advantage. Worried as his father was, Girvus managed to convince Robert to tighten the guard. Clearly somebody was after their House. Taking heed of the words of his son and next heir, Robert made sure that the forces around Hials would be reinforced. Both in numbers as in equipment. However, soon Robert was dead himself. The causes were unknown, but it didn't last long before Girvus took the seat and claimed he would make sure the Rynir House would get rid of the group that were plaguing their fair noble family. In the next two years, Girvus hang people that he claimed to be part of the devious group that tried to murder out the Rynir House. Thus on the age of twenty four Girvus had secured his seat. And for twenty years he would reign over both the Awom Province as governor as Head of the Rynirs..

History :
Born an illegitimate child to some Lord of Phavir, whose name he doesn't remember, Arameus hardship started early. When his mother died to a thief who got carried away when Arameus was only seven, his noble father, unsympathetic and unwilling to openly take on the burden of a bastard, sent him to the orphanage and being among the youngest in the orphanage,he and the rest of the kids his age grew accustomed to being bullied and beaten on by the older orphans who then stole thier meager rations and bedding on cold winter nights. As he grew older and the growth spurts began,he took it upon himself to defend and protect the younger orphans, Clive Windholm a Senior Ranger,at the time, (now deceased)and provider of fresh game every so often for the orphanage took notice of him and after the passing of a season, arranged for Arameus to become his Apprentice and trained him relentlessly in the art of the Longbow, wilderness lore and adhereance to the code of chivalry of the Rangers, preping him to be able to take the Trials of the Ranger himself one day. Robin Throckmorton is a fairly average looking man. He has short brown hairs and a bushy and wild brown beard and moustache. He has very expressive eyebrows and almond eyes hidden deep in their sockets. He has an experienced and capable look in his eyes, but also a rather menacing one. He has a 'fresh' face with the skin colour most in the Empire have, but age and continued exposure to weather and warfare have drawn thin lines in his face, along with small scars.

Rolor ofcourse. Nothing can beat a pike formation from charging the frontal end, and anyone trying to do so should be smitten down by Rolor. However, Robin isn't exactly that religious. If he prays to someone it's in a pinch during battle, and then it's often Rolor that receives his prayers.

Personality :
Robin is a pragmatic and very practical man. He'll do anything to get what he wants, and luckily for his superiors he is a man that is easily statisfied. He isn't really smart nor brave nor anything that makes him outstanding, except that he is very stubborn in his pragmatic spirit. That aside he is a very jovial man around who you can feel very comfortable, while at the same time not at all. He is quite cynical about the situation of the military, and has agrim and fatalistic attitude and sense of humour. Summarized, he is a good man that was dyed in the wool.

History :
Robin was born to a relative averagely poor farmer, as the sixth of his sons. Three of his elder siblings, a lass and a lad, died during childhood, and his only younger sibling died quickly aswell, the harsh reality of peasant life. His father's patch of land had been snippered over the course of decades due to theor family distributing all wealth equally over their sons, leading to the point where the land was so small it was hardly able to sustain all of them. As a result, their father decided to only gran tland to his eldest son, much to the discontent of the younger siblings. However, Robin, being the youngest, always knew he'd always pull the shorest end in heritage affairs, and that the poor state of his family would not gain him anything but a short and uneventful life quickly ended by disease or famine. So, as his village was situated on the main road to Roduma, a place where the Imperial legions sometimes paused while marching, he ran off, joining the legion as it went.

The Imperial Legions are the first and foremost sign of the decay of an effective central government in the Empire. Originally it was meant as a device of social promotion, and all true citizens of Rehon nearly served in the legions to eventually get civil positions after their terms and help lead the Empire. However, as the borders expanded local auxilaries appeared in the armies, hoping to gain citizienship through service, along with all rights and duties of it. Slowly their growing numbers drove the native Rehonians out of the army, untill the legions consisted mostly of non citiziens. However, there still is a good portion of them left, most serving in the center of the Empire, away from most dangers. This, along with fund cuts deteriorated the state of the legions untill most stepped away from the typical uniforms that once conquered the known world. Different units and types of soldiers grew as the auxilaries joined, dependant on the local enemies they had to fight. This resulted

As a result, Robin, despite his young age of 11 years, was accepted into the 16th Legion, one that had been stationed in the Region of Awom, where units had developped the use of pike and arbalest, heavily drilled to withstand heavy cavalry charges aswell as most infantry threats. After training in the ways of the pike and sword, aswell as a limited training in operating the heavy arbalests of their collegues that they had to protect, their unit, consisting of 500 pikemen along with 500 arbelesters, had been called to the frontlines in Nurvlin, where they were to give fight to the cavalry of the barbarians. The pikemen and arbalesters proved to be a very efficient fighting force, but after a disastrous ambush where their pike formation was broken, they were withdrawn after heavy casualties. They have been flickering towards and away from the front repeatedly, a vicious cycle that has continued untill recently. Now, recently filled up with new recruits up to operational numbers, all having received the required basic training, they are awaiting redeployment to either the frontlines or the 16th Legion itself, where they will help maintain public order in Awom for yet another few uneventful and calm years.

Clothing and/or armor :
Robin wears the standard olive green one piece hoses of the pikemen corps, along with a simple white tunic. Over that he often wears a rather old blue overcoat, giving him a rather ordinary appearance, with some sloppy edges. He has sturdy leather marching boots he wears at all times, along with thick leather gauntlets he also received from the military.

When he joined the legion he got the typical armour all pikemen wore, a simple brigandine over a thick gambeson. The brigandine is in the typical green colour of the pikemen corps, and consists of dozens of small metal plates rivetted together in a sturdy vest. Along with that they received large kettle helmets, the most practicl kind of headwear in existence. Protects from all kinds of weapons, especially arrows, and the large brim will catch devastating downward blows before they come close to your face. Along with that they received sturdy leather marching boots and gauntlets, allowing them to handle the pike and stand ground efficiently. Their weapons consist of a 5.8m long pike, the most simple kind you can imagine, along with a rather short falchion. The heavy sword was perfect for the cramped situation one would find himself in should a formation break. The point was perfect for stabbing, the heavy blade perfect for deliver grievous wounds, an the small handguard it had was a very nifty tool for transforming faces into works of art, aswell as desperate parries.

Over the years Robin however 'upgraded' his armour with a suit of mail that reach to his elbows and just below his brigandine, aswell as plated mittens that further protect his hands from the rather dangerous job as pikeman. Along with that he bought some basic pleyns with small cuisses and greaves, protecting the area around his knee. He also bought a very mean misericorde, that can find its way through armour like sand and is long and sharp enough to tickle your armpit when stabbed in the other.

Robin is a veteran pikeman, and as such is very proficient with the pike, and knows exactly what to do in every situation a pikeman can find himself in. He is a decent swordsman, fighting so dirty your eyes are gouged out by it, and can handle himself in a wrestling fight. Yes, when pikes meet infantry, infantry tends to crawl under the pikes and yoink the pikemen's balls, unless the pikemen get the same idea and yoink back a lot harder.
