Elu opened one eye and looked over at Kiri. She rolled her open eye and looked down at the teacher with a bored look on her face. The aura coming off the girl was still hostile and cold considering she was sitting next to her jerk of a partner. He didn't know what she had gone through, actually she didn't even know what she had gone through. With the memories of her childhood missing she didn't know who her family was or how she had ended up in Death City. It made her secluded when people were talking about their childhood and when they asked her questions about her she just snapped at them and walked away because that's all she could do.

"Yes, this asshole." James glared a bit at Kiri before breaking into a bit of a grin. Hopefully, this class won't be too bad; it would probably depend on just how many attempts on his lives people would make. Of course, that would depend on whether anyone in the class had soul perception, but if one person had it and raised the alarm they just might bumrush him.

Maybe he should have asked for an evening class.

"I'm Mr. Heinson, your homeroom teacher for this year. Before I begin, I would like to list a few ground rules. Those being: I decide when the class ends, not the bell, you are to treat me just as you would treat any of your other teachers such as Sid or Professor Stein, if you have any problems with me being your teacher pick it up with Shinigama-sama himself and, above all, there is to be no battling in my classroom."

James glanced around the aisles to make sure everyone was paying attention. "Do I make myself clear?" he asked, wondering if he was intimidating enough. No, probably not.

"Yep." Elu said her eyes following him

Neku felt that there was something odd about their professor, and he decided to analyze his soul a bit later. "It's best not to judge a book by its cover just yet.." He thinks to himself before responding to James' question. "Loud and clear.." He says, eyeing him suspiciously, actually feeling slightly intimidated by him...

Arc was running as fast as he could with his partner over his shoulder. After a few seconds of running he entered their class room. " SAFE!" He yelled as he slid over the ground and came to a stop a few feet further away.

She giggled and jumped from his shoulders "Home Run!" She laughed and started jumping up empty seats and got to the back as she watched the young man take to the podium, she was somewhat disappointed, she really wanted Prof. Stein this time. She shrugged and slumped down in her seat waiting for Ace. She listened to the man and once he finished she jumped up and did a salute "Yes Sir!" before dropping back down in her seat again.

After his partner went to her seat he followed her. Arc seated himself on the right side of his pas partner. When the teacher said something, he responded with. "Got it!" He said as he gave a thumbs up.

JayCee had only been half paying attention to what the male claiming to be a teacher said. He could be much older than her and yet he was teaching a class. She grunted slightly and nodded I'm responce to what she had barely listened to. She looked him up and down before returning to her thoughts.

Cabouse yawned as he heard the teacher talking,, wondering if he should try and stand op to this teacher with his so called 'Not leave before he deems right'. Cabouse was laying a little on the table with a tired but still observing exprestion. "Sure" was the only thing he said to reply to the teacher and now was wonderin what he would even throw at them all

Nightwalker was about to burst through the doors and make a huge seen, till he just thought he might as well skip that class since he's already 15 minutes late. So he just began wandering the halls and ended up near the EAT class hallway.

James was silent for a moment before smiling again. "Good." he muttered. "Very good."

If anyone was using soul perception on him, they either didn't want to question the fact he was a witch or refused to, or their soul perception would be too weak to glean past his soul protect, cast in the form of Arcana: The Magician. Either way, no one has attempted to kill him so far. "Now then," he continued, "I suppose I'll start by taking attendance..."

The rest of the first class was rather typical, with James outlining the curriculum and other such formalities for the rest of the year. Finishing up ten minutes early, James looked at his watch. "Well, it seems there's still ten minutes to go before the bell. Oh well." he shrugged. "That's it for this period; you're all free to go. If you have any questions, stay behind so I can answer them."

The bell didn't decide when the class ended - he did.

JayCee only half listened though out the class she was thinking of ways to possibly make her and Cabouse stronger. Of course her plan was to first at least get them to sit together in class then maybe it would progess from that. She was a little shocked when James let them out early but it just ment that they had more time to train. She stood up and walked to where her partner sat and waited for him to signal that he was ready to leave. She wasn't sure if he had any questions seeing as they were getting ready to train and all her partner might want some tips.

Elu stood up and left the classroom silently. She just wanted to get as far away for Kiri as she could.

Jasper stayed seated as his classmates filed out. He had questions for this "Professor," and he intended to have them answered. He took a deep breath, in and out. Focus, control, focus, control. He repeated in his head. There was something different about this professor, more than just his age. He needed to have access to all of his skills when he questioned him, in case he was asked to give a demonstration. He couldn't let simple emotions get in the way of becoming a death scythe.

Surprisingly enough, Kiri was probably the most attentive student ever during that class. Probably had something to do with James being their goddamn teacher. Meanwhile, Kiri stormed up to the front desk, disregarding Jasper's attention-grabbing attempt entirely. "What. The. Hell. Was. That." he asked, hints of anger rising up from that monotone.

Normally, James would turn to answer Kiri immediately, but he had a feeling he would know what Kiri was about to say and needed to stop him - there were still people here, namely Jasper, and didn't want to potentially talk about the dangers of witches being teachers at the DWMA. As such, as much as he hated to do this, he had to put his friend on hold for a moment.

"Hang on a moment, I'll be right with you. We can't talk here yet." James said to Kiri, whispering that last part before turning to Jasper. "Yes, what is it?" he asked.

Jasper watched as Kiri stormed up to the front desk, verbally attacking their new professor. He figured he was going to get all the answers he needed just listening, and wasn't going to need to ask anything if he just took his time, so he began packing his bag slowly and methodically, respectfully "ignoring" Kiri's conversation.

When addressed directly, Jasper realized he had to change tactics and queried: "No disrespect, sir, but I was wondering what has led you to being a professor here at such a young age. I can't help but feel we would have heard of you if you had performed some wondrous feats, and I have no idea who you are." All of this was said in a flat monotone. "So with the utmost respect, sir, what qualifies you to teach us how to kill witches, when you can't be any more experienced than ourselves?" Jasper bowed his head awkwardly to attempt some deference, not sure if his attempt at Japanese sincerity was effective.

James gave a small smile, having expected that someone would ask this. After all, there were plenty he considered when he was faced with the prospect of teaching people who were only around the same age as he was.

"Well, I'm afraid I can't tell you much," James said truthfully, "And like I said at the beginning of class, If there is an issue with me being your teacher than you can take it up with Shinigami-sama himself. However, I will confidently say that I am much more experienced in the subject I am teaching you than any of you in my class.

Does that address your concerns?"

"No sir, I can't say it does, but I trust that Shinigami-sama has good reason for his decisions." The barely contained frustration at this teacher leaped off of Jasper's body, plummeting the nearby temperature. "Thank you, professor, I appreciated the lesson. Next time, maybe we'll learn something useful." Jasper stormed out of the room, leaving frozen footprints in his wake, desperately trying to calm down. When your external world constantly is a reflection of your internal state, it's best to just avoid potentially detrimental situations. Sitting down against the doorframe, Jasper took a deep breath and counted to five before coming back inside to apologize.

Satsu got up from her seat and jumped up on the table in front of Ace, crouching down in front of him as she pulled some Poky from her bag and started eating it "So some training first?" She spoke with her mouth half full.

"Yeah sure let's go Satsu." Arc said as he got up from his seat and stretched. " Come on let's go." He said with a smile.
