Hey, Assalya? Can I get some exposition here. I am a hundred and pi percent confused by your last post. What is going on? And more importantly, why is it going on?

They are secondary characters passing by and adding life to the mansion.

Days of Future Past was awesome and I'm very pleasantly surprised by it. Subsequently, and a lot less relevantly, Watch Dogs is also awesome. Which, you know, may also be the reason for my procrastination.

Oh. Okay, I get it now. Sorry. That was just so out of left field I got whiplash. But it's all good now.

Of course not, but the way you handled that post was... Different. At least from how I've seen fiction and RPs done before, maybe that's just how you roll. Heck if I know.

Its not a bad post, also it needs a female I think, I am sure the post said had to be a female.

Huh? Oh, no. It a good post (although I'm not sure flying a suicicidal, psychotic, electric generator in the middle of a freak out high over her kryptonite was a good idea on Asha's part), I just don't know how Aya should react.

Nah, you see it in fiction all the time, extraneous characters that set mood or provide exposition and sometimes, admittedly rarely, philosophical commentary. It's a shame that you don't see it more often in forums.

I use them all the time on the tabletop. Sure, you can simply have a demon walk into the town and describe him.... but if a harried farmer in a leather skullcap rushes in carrying a torch, wild eyed and breathing heavily, suddenly calls out, "The demon comes! The Demon comes!" and throws the town into panic... then the mood is set and when I describe the demon finally arriving the players are irked.

Instilling emotion, whether it be tension, heartache or exultation is what a writer exists for.

Edit: Mind you, unlike a movie or novel, there's nothing stopping anyone from walking up to any of these characters and chatting with them or asking Bamf about them :)

Meh, I prefer chatting with the PC over NPCs. I don't feel any reason to connect to NPCs (unless they are plot relevant) and so can't engage them to the best of my ability, whether it's a player controlled NPC or just a self controlled NPC. Also, why would Bamf know squat about these characters? You made them right?

Oh, by the way. You don't have to justify yourself to me. You can do whatever you want. I was just confused because it seemed out of place.

Don't worry about it. I have humongous experience with the roleplaying thing. I've been doing it since the late eighties.

Here's the deal, Jax is totally new to the school. He doesn't know what CrimsonWarrior might now. There's a degree of separation between yourself and character. For example, CrimsonWarrior might know that there are a bunch of thugs at the end of an alley but his character would not... so the character walks in heedless to any danger while CrimsonWarrior bites at his nails hoping things won't go too far sideways.

In this case, however, Bamf has been around the school for a long while. That's why he's giving the tour. Think about this. You, Crimson Warrior are new to a school and getting a tour when a few weirdos walk by talking stuff that makes no sense. What would you do? What would any of us do? You'd ask... what the hell is up with that or something similar to the person who knows the lay of the land.

So, anticipating this I shoot Bamf's player a quick message on what the heck is going on since his character would know about such things where Jax wouldn't. This allows the narrative to develop naturally. At this point Nighthawk could spin the conversation with Jax any number of ways and makes for more realism as the world around the characters is revealed to extend beyond just the PCs. Forums make this delightedly easy in the way tabletop games could only dream.

This is the true power of the NPC!!! mwah hah hah hah hah!

*lol* My, how- blunt. I have to admit that's refreshing.

I feel like being mysterious but nothing comes to mind... Let's just say that I'm a hair short of being as old as Star Wars. I started with D&D 1st Edition, yes... that's first edition. The very first role playing game barring little kids running around with wooden swords beating on one another.

Huh, so about 36? Bah, that's nothing. I'm 24 meself. Oh, yeah and OOH!! I LOVE THAT GAME! Beating children with sticks is AWESOME!!! Although it's frowned upon when there's a 15 year age difference apparently. Meh. Stupid whiny parents.

-EDIT-

Whelp, I officially took Ayame from Nutzo to Shiczo

Haven't been feeling well. Working a post albeit slowly.

Additionally, can you please not use 'schizo' and/or schizophrenia in such a way? I mean do whatever you want, just asking for that courtesy. Her behavior is more of a mania than anything, but that's neither here nor there.

My bad. Didn't mean anything deragatory. Come to think of it, I don't think it's the right term anyways. If I'm not mistaken, schizophrenia denotes Dissociative Identity Disorder, or multiple people in one body. Aya's condition is more random personality alterations..

I am watching the second Ghost Rider and I am not sure what to think. I like Ghost rider like any other Marvel character but so far the movie is failing to keep me interested in it. :/

I wish I could've warned you. While the first was... a decent movie. The second failed to keep me amused for a lot of it. I like a few parts, but most of it sucked. And I'm tolerant of movies. I enjoyed the Super Mario Bros. movie for fuck's sake, but I can't bring myself to watch Ghost Rider 2 again.
