Cyrodiil is in chaos. The Emperor Uriel Septim VII and his heirs have been slain by the Mythic dawn, a cult devoted to the Daedric Prince Mehrunes Dagon. The Dragon fires, magic created by the God Akatosh and sustained by a Septim Emperor wearing The Amulet of Kings to seal the barrier between Oblivion and the mortal plane, have been extinguished. Gates to Oblivion have opened all across the land and continue to appear, expelling Daedric servants and creatures into the world to slay and pillage. The Empires Legions stand firm against the onslaught but with no Emperor on the throne and the Dragon Fires cold it is only a matter of time before the endless waves of Daedra overwhelm them.



Jauffre, Grandmaster of the order known as the Blades, knows of a secret heir to the Septim line and sends a would be hero to retrieve him from the city of Kvatch. Martin Septim and the hero barely escape Kvatch with their lives as the city was laid to waste by the Daedra. Even now, the Blades seek to undo the work of the Mythic Dawn and place Martin on the throne to end this nightmare.

Your place in this has yet to begin. As of now you are criminals, scum of the empire sentenced to death in the arena. Despite the chaos of the world the citizens of the Empire still seek entertainment in the form of blood. They lose themselves in the violence in a futile attempt to continue life as they knew before, trying not to think about the creatures of Oblivion that will soon be at their doorstep.



Races

Altmer
Also known as High Elves, the Altmer are the masters of magic. Of all the races they are the most adept in all forms of Magic however, they are also the most vulnerable to it. They are tall and fair skinned and more often than not look down on the other races as inferior.

Argonian
Argonians are a lizard like race, covered in scales with reptilian faces and tails. They specialize in light armors and stealth with a natural resistance to poisons.

Bosmer
The wood elves are the smallest race in physical stature but that should not be taken as a weakness. Bosmer are the finest bowmen in all of Tamriel and are quite adept at stealth tactics.

Breton
Bretons are accomplished tradesmen, with unparalleled speech craft and social skills. They're also handy with the non destructive magics. Bretons are human in appearance.

Dunmer
Dark Elves come from a society based on tribes and Noble houses. Their skin is anywhere from Dark green, grey, to almost black. Dunmer have a natural resistance to fire and their skill in destructive magic is unparalleled.

Imperial
Imperials are the natives of Cyrodiil and the most common human race in the region. The vast majority of the Imperial Legion is comprised of these. Though well rounded, they make better front line warriors than anything else.

Khajiit
Khajiits are humanoid felines with tails and ears to match. They are crafty, masters of stealth and all things subtle. Their claws are excellent weapons in the absence of steel.

Nord
Nords are the haughty folk of Skyrim, a land of ice and snow. They are resistant to cold and are the largest of the human races. Great warriors and skilled armorers.

Orsimer
The Orcs. Though brutish in appearance the Orcs are a people centered on honor, courage, and skill in battle. They are the only race that can match Nords in brute strength. Orcs have the ability to go berserk in combat, making them very dangerous foes.

Redguard
The dark skinned humans from the desert take pride in their weapon craft, often peerless in the use of one handed weapons. Prideful warriors with skill to match.

Each player may select 10 skills. 5 Major skills that they are proficient in and 5 minor skills that they are good at but not masters of.

Skills

Acrobatics and Athletics: This skill governs your Characters agility in combat, speed, and how high they can jump.

Alteration: Magic governing the use of barriers and magical shields. Also magical light.

Two handed weapons: Any weapon requiring great strength to wield. IE: battle axes and war hammers

One handed weapons: Lighter weapons requiring only the use of one hand. Able to dual wield.

Block: The use of shields in conjunction with one handed weapons.

Conjuration: Magic used to summon undead or daedric minions.

Destruction: Magic used to harm an opponent directly using Fire, Frost, Lightning, or poison.

Hand to hand: unarmed combat.

Heavy Armor: The use of heavy armors such as plate mail. Heavy Armor as a major or minor skill prohibits the player from having Acrobatics and Athletics as a skill. Magic is restricted to minor skills.

Medium Armor: Medium armor allows the player to have Acrobatics and Athletics as a minor skill and magic as a major skill. Less protective than Heavy armor.

Light Armor: With Light Armor the player may have Acrobatics and Athletics as a major skill. Spells are more proficient with lighter armor.

Unarmored: No armor is recommended for pure magic users. While Heavy, Medium, and Light armor all hinder spell casting, Unarmored does not and spells will be at their highest power. This also means virtually no physical protection.

Illusion: Magic dealing in concealment and deception.

Lock picking: Picking locks and disabling traps.

Marksman: Use of bows, crossbows, and thrown weapons such as knives and darts.

Mercantile and Speechcraft: This skill governs ones social graces, allowing for better interactions with people for information or better prices at shops.

Mysticism: Mysticism spells shape and focus otherworldly forces to bind souls in gems, teleport the caster's body, manipulate the world with telekinesis, or sense unseen objects at a distance.

Spears: Use of spears and other pole arms, such as staves.

Sneak: Moving undetected, silent and unseen.

Restoration: Magic used to heal wounds and revitalize the body.

Crafting skills

Crafting will not be a major part in this but i'll not deny you the possibility. These skills require the appropriate tools and work space, thus cannot be done in the depths of a dungeon unless said dungeon contains them.

Forging: Craft weapons and armor as well as repairing any damaged gear.

Alchemy: Use gathered herbs and other ingredients to craft potions and poisons.

Enchanting: Using Soul gems, an Enchanter may imbue an item with spell effects from his or her own arsenal of spells.

Standard guild rules apply. This is a Free RP designed with beginners in mind but i would appreciate an attempt at something more than one liners. Use this opportunity to build your own skills.

Brief history: (sorry if this is going to be a bit long, I prefer to flesh out the character beforehand to know how to play them in the roleplay)
Daric was born in Wayrest, High Rock. His father was an accomplished mage and his mother was a well-known enchantress who was contacted by people countries away to see if she was available to enchant a weapon and what the price would be. All in all, Daric's early life was pretty great, his family loved him and he got to see magic up close practically every day. By age five he was certain that he wanted to be a mage when he grew up. There was only one problem, a problem his father had foreseen and hoped to be just folklore. The first time Daric attempted a low level restoration spell it just wouldn't work. Even the most absent-minded of orcs could at least throw a tiny fireball with practice, but no matter how hard Daric tried to cast any sort of spell he just couldn't. His father couldn't actually teach Daric any magic unless he hit him with a spell to revitalize his magika reserves. He decided to wait until Daric was a bit older to actually begin to start pelting him with spells in the hopes that it would help him cast magic. The only problem with this being Daric's parents untimely death. While travelling to Skyrim to enchant some Jarl's greatsword, Daric and his family were ambushed by forest bandits. They slaughtered his parents and left him for dead in the forest with an arrow in his shoulder.

He made his way into Skyrim just in time to not die of starvation. A friendly witch hunter in a tavern healed his wound and later decided to take Daric on as an apprentice after learning of his birthsign. It turns out that the witch hunter was born under the same birth sign and faced the same trials and tribulations as Daric had when he was learning magic. The witch hunter taught him about his birth sign and taught him how to do magic after replenishing his magicka reserves. He explained to Daric that the witch hunting profession was best for people born under the atronach because of their ability to only be able to regenerate magicka after being hit by it a few times.

Daric left the witch hunter when he was in his early 20s and left for the imperial city. He became a renowned witch hunter there and had been witch hunting in and around the city for years up until he was contacted by his old master again. It turns out he had been ambushed by bandits and then captured. His captors demanded an insane amount of gold for his release and Daric was the only person that his master could trust enough to not be captured if he paid the money. Daric set out to the meeting point to save his master. He killed the four captors in stealth instead of paying them, they were criminal scum who deserved nothing less than a sword in the neck. Daric freed his master, but soon regretted it after he actually saw who he killed. A guards patrol who had captured the now criminal master to Daric and was taking him to the imperial city prisons. Daric's master lashed out at him and initiated a struggle which ended in Daric's masters death. Daric was peacefully arrested a few days after and is now in prison for manslaughter.

Brief history:
(Heads up I maybe using Skyrim lore in this more the Oblivion because its been ages since I played oblivion and I know more about Skyrim, if you want me to change anything I'm happy to, just ask)

When Rias was a child she was brought up in an Orsimer mining camp. It was a quiet life until a group of Nord bandits ran through the camp. Killing most of the population, some women and children were taken, but everyone else was slaughtered. The bandits kept the women for....entertainment and sold the children to the black market, Rias was one of those children. Rias was 10 years old when she was sold to a skooma exporter/dealer. She was used for manual labor and other rather unmentionable services.

Once Rias was 16 she decided she had enough and decided to run away. Sadly she didn't even make it out of Bravil before she was caught by the dealers. They took her back to their warehouse and tortured her for days before she lost it. She went berserk and killed everyone of them, some with her bare hands and others with weapons she found.

After she had killed them all she tried to make a run for it. Making it into Skyrim but was caught on the border. She was taken back to Imperial city in Cyrodiil. At any other time they would of taken it easy on her, but unfortunately for her, The leader of the exports was the son to one of the Commanders. She was given the death sentence and was sent to the dungeons of Imperial City to wait until the day.

Appearance: A big, mean son of a dog. Karnog reaches 6'8 and about 212 pounds of pure, orcy rage and with a mug to match. By orc standards he would be considered handsome, but to everyone else he is intimidating, with a shaved head, large tusks and a pair of dark, piercing eyes. Other than that, Karnog is covered in scars from his countless battles.

Brief history: Since the day he was born, Karnog has always been...special. He was born on the 8th of windfall, under the sign of the warrior, and with the death of his mother due to birth complications lead to all three criteria to be met. At that moment, Malacath himself blessed the wriggling babe with the power of the blood rage. Much like an orcs natural berserk rage, Karnog could strike with more force than any man and shrug off deadly blows, but his real gift kicks in once he is near deaths door and the ash pits are in sight. Karnog will violently reject his well earned prize and come back from the brink, stronger than ever. Surprisingly this isn't what put him in jail. After he had come of age, Karnog went on a journey with no real destination and one day accidentally killed a farmers chicken. Since he didn't have the coin to pay of the bounty, he was put into the jail house to wait out his sentence. It was here that the other inmates decided to mess with the new guy, one thing lead to another and faster than you can say deadra, Karnog was slapped with the crime of "Violent dismemberment with common household furniture" and was shipped off into the arena.

Brief history: Syndus has always been lucky. Very, very lucky. Well, other than growing up as an orphan. He's always had to steal and kill to survive, and has rarely gotten caught, well, up until this last time, when he got caught, and refused to pay the fine, which ended in him only making his bounty even higher by killing three imperial guards with his bow before finally being caught, which, of course, ended with him being thrown in the imperial prison while he waited out his sentence. But of course they decided his skills in combat would be put to good use in the arena.......
