Appearance: While born a flesh and blood human, Michael "Neutro" Ophan adopted his present metallic appearance at the turn of the Awakening, shedding all previously human forms and turning to his current visage. Made up of a strange metallic material and standing at well over eight feet tall, Neutro appears as a giant of steel. While still possessing a few distinguishing features of humanity -digits on his hands, eyes, and limbs- he has lost all other indicators of his old appearance. He lacks toes, a mouth, nose, ears or hair, as well as genitalia. His skin has been replaced with a scaly layering of metal strips in most areas, and simple smooth metal in others. Individuals in his presence can note that his eyes glow a distinct yellow, though their lights do not extend more than a few centimeters from their sockets.

Powers: Neutro possesses the power of auto mass manipulation; that is, he can increase his own measured and physical mass without changing his size or appearance. He can only increase to levels above his base mass (though can return to his original mass at will), meaning that he is incapable of becoming extremely lightweight. Regardless of the changes in mass he undergoes, Neutro's outward appearance does not change visibly, nor his size for that matter. All mass generated is compacted into his current form, adding to his density as well. With this power, Neutro could take on the weight of a tank compacted into the size of a rather tall human being, resulting in a formidable force of power and toughness. With changing mass and density, Neutro can shrug off military-grade weaponry with ease, or throw punches capable of dismantling small buildings.

Due to his supernatural form, Neutro has shed the need for food, water, and air, and is immune to the effects of poisons and the vacuum of space. He still possesses what could be called a human "brain (though it does not physically appear as such), and so still requires sleep.

Skills: Only slightly trained in martial combats, Neutro relies moreso on his sheer strength and durability than fighting skills. Still, they are nothing to be laughed at. Neutro is a genius when it comes to particle physics, being one of the leading scientists in his field before the Awakening permanently changed him. Besides physics, though, he possesses a wide array of knowledge in other subjects, and often considers himself a scholarly man.

Equipment/Resources: Neutro is an individual in a socioeconomic status just above the middle class. Work at a high-paying job twice in succession built up a hefty fortune that allowed him an upper-class home and the amenities to go with it. However, due to his size, he does not drive a car of his own, and instead resorts to simply walking where he needs to. He has access to the UC Berkeley System, and has connections to many famous and rising physicist of all walks of life.

Weaknesses: While still able to exert force with his body and move accordingly, doing so with greater mass requires greater energy and quickly saps his stamina. Thus, situations which necessitate higher density (whether it be to throw a fiercer punch, or defend against a more powerful strike) will tire Neutro more quickly than normal. His own mass can cause problems for people surrounding him as well; structural integrity is always something Neutro must consider before using his powers. "Can this building hold me up?" is a question he often has to consider, and so caution must be taken even in situations that require haste.

Unlike in normal humans, Neutro does not regenerate his body naturally. Damage done to his form cannot be repaired unless he finds the right energy source; that of a particle accelerator. He is especially prone to heating up, and could theoretically melt under the right circumstances. For some reason, powerful electromagnets also cause him to become stunned, immobile, or even unconscious.

Psychological Profile: Despite his intimidating appearance, Neutro remains one of the more consistently calm and collected of heroes, capable of maintaining a gentle and sensible demeanor in most every situation. This aids to a skill in care and caution; it is difficult to confuse Neutro or create situations of chaos to cloud his senses or inspire distress and uncertainty. He is soft-spoken out of combat, often considered a gentle giant among the League. Neutro is slow to engage in violence or argument where he sees it unnecessary, making him especially prone to remaining quiet or sitting things out.

Regardless of his strength, Neutro sees his powers as more of a curse than a gift, and only occasionally considers it an obligation to aid those less fortunate. Moreso, he sees the League and its activities as more of an outlet for atonement than heroism. It is the medium for him to repair his lost humanity, and to cover up what little damage he has done, and the fear or uncertainty his form and activities cause. The more he can help the innocent, the more he can seem human again, is his train of thought.

Biography: Michael Ophan was born a natural scientist, that is, he expressed a keen interest in nature and math. At a young age, it was clear that he would pursue a career in some form of science, and when he displayed incredible grades and success in his educational career, especially in physics, he took towards following the path of a particle physicist, among other things. He graduated from college as one of the top students, and was offered a position at UC Berkeley as a professor, which he eagerly took towards. At the time, while young himself, he felt that educating the young was one of the noblest of professions he could pursue. He stayed there for five years before looking for something slightly grander.

He looked into the employment as a scientist at one of many laboratories possessing a particle accelerator. The prospect of working with one to uncover the secrets of the world greatly enticed him. Though offered a position by many places, he settled with one at the American facility in New York. There he understandably rose up in ranks through diligence and genius, and eventually became one of the chief scientists there for a time.

It was on one fateful morning that his life was changed forever; working in the lab when the Awakening occurred would change him in ways few other affected individuals could imagine.

Michael was examining one of the new additions to their personal particle accelerator when the Awakening occurred. In that short few seconds, the energies that maimed countless man-made systems infected the particle accelerator as well, and in Michael's particular vicinity, it was most drastic. The already powerful and mysterious machine was spurred on to become even moreso unimaginable, and it broke in his very face, unleashing a tide of particles that man had not yet even discovered or considered. His body was warped in the minutes that followed, turning every particle in his body to some strange form of neutron. He grew, and he no longer remained human.

At least eight feet tall in those tight corridors, Michael Ophan found it difficult to move about, and when his former co-workers found him hunched over in the halls, they could only scream in terror. This monstrous, alien figure had infiltrated their laboratory, and after such a strange event no less! Even with his pleas of mercy, they did not hesitate to run away or call for the authorities. Practically invincible, however, he found his escape unimpeded.

Unlike the others who were influenced by the Awakening, Michael could not hide himself. He was every manner of conspicuous, and no amount of clothing could hide it. For a time, he remained in hiding until he had heard over the radio what had begun to happen; heroes had risen. Superheroes. Tales of valor and great power saving the day was all the talk on the radio he possessed, camped out in the woods of the Eastern US.

If they could present themselves and gain respect for it, why couldn't he? Michael Ophan rose from his hiding as Neutro, the metal giant.

At first he remained uncomfortable of his appearance, but as time passed and more people gazed upon him with what he believed to be wonder and respect, he grew more complacent with his new body. Neutro rose to fame as an unstoppable giant who remained ironically gentle with the public, and eventually sought to join the newly formed League of Heroes.

Would it be possible for me to play a non-powered owl-themed vigilante or a powered owl-themed vigilante whose main or only power is an increased intellect? Or barring either of those muscle mimicry I suppose. I guess I'm asking if I can play a sort of Batman-like character, but I would take pains to establish them somewhat differently and develop them into their own character, I promise.

I'd definitely follow the suggestions for CS design though. Being a hyper-competant polymath doesn't seem as much fun as being creative with a few skills he'd be amazingly good at. I'm thinking hand-to-hand and detective skills/investigative work would be two things he would be really good at, alongside maybe some kind of technological design to explain the gadgetry?

Name: John Sunday Keller

Occupation: CEO and majority shareholder of the Keller Corporation, Philanthropist and occasional inventor.

Appearance: In his day to day life John S. Keller keeps up the appearance of a wealthy socialite and occasional serious businessman. While his more illicit activities certainly require a lot of muscle development, he's hardly a hulking figure, slim but well-defined rather than broad-shoulder or barrel chested with a bit of a sharp, angular face. He could be considered handsome, with grey-blue eyes and usually messy black hair, although he's a bit too pale and usually has rings as if he doesn't get outside during the day enough or sleep enough at night. He's of about average height and his is typically carefully micromanaged to be as close to the human optimum as possible, though strangely his clothing is often disheveled as though he doesn't usually put in the effort. His body is covered in numerous scars due to his more...active lifestyle although he usually takes pains to make sure these are covered up.

In costume most of him is concealed by the Strix suit except for a small mouth portion. The suit is a dark charcoal grey meant to help him blend in with dark and urban environments, with the cowl shaped to look like a great-horned owl and built-in goggles completing the effect by partially concealing his eyes and giving them a huge, inhuman and predatory look. The cape is long enough to wrap about his body and the strong but flexible weave of nano-fibers it's made of are patterned for a distinctive feather-covered appearance, a resemblance further reinforced when the cloth re-aligns into the wing shape Strix uses for gliding. The main body of the suit is designed to look like an unnerving cross between armor and bony organics although it is the same charcoal grey color as the rest of the suit. Strix's utility belt is a sleek series of cylindrical dispensers and containers with a few loops and sheathes for his various tools and a compartment for the miniaturized motor that works his grapple-gun and another for his Echo system. The gauntlet portions are made to look like talons while still serving their function and even the boots are shaped to reinforce the talon'd foot imagery. The overall intended impression is an owl-like motif meant to spread rumor, confusion and fear among the criminal element.

Powers: Strix has no powers.

Skills: Strix is an extremely formidable martial artist, having begun training seriously when he was just nine years old and traveled all over the world to study with various masters in numerous styles of both armed and unarmed combat. He is also an expert investigator and detective with expertise in criminology and forensics. Perhaps most importantly he has a brilliant mind for all things technological, which aside from his considerable with hacking and computers manifests in notable feats including personally designing the lightweight, sound-dampening full-body armor and glider that is the Strix Suit, along with his personal V/STOL aircraft and many of his numerous gadgets.

Apart from these things stealth operations and infiltration are also an area in which he is talented, supplemented by his training in ninjutsu. He can speak English, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, Arabic and Japanese. He has some considerable skill with ranged weaponry, mainly his thrown weapons like his feather-shaped throwing knives and 'pellets', but he despises guns. He also has enough skill in acrobatics and free-running to do things like hop roofs and traverse environments via swinging on his grappling hook and utilizing the wingsuit-like properties of his cape. He has enough skill with aircraft piloting to pilot his customized V/STOL aircraft.

Equipment/Resources: Strix's suit itself is a valuable piece of equipment as it is made of a combination of various lightweight synthetic aramids, para-aramids and even high-tech nanofibers, giving it's wearer limited protection against numerous threats including gunfire, heat and flames, electricity and concussive force. The gloves contain retractable incredibly sharp 'talon' blades for use as climbing and cutting tools as well as last-ditch weapons. The cape's nano-fiber weave provides further protection and can be re-aligned into a broad wing-like design that enables Strix to temporarily glide or break falls. The Strix Suit's eye-lenses allow for telescopic and magnified vision and also display the Echo System's sonar mapping ability as a HUD, meaning Strix can effectively see in the dark similarly to echolocation, The lenses also prevent him from being identified via retinal scan. The cowl itself has a small amount of lead lining both to increase the effectiveness of headbutts and prevent the wearer's identification via X-ray measures and also has audio filters that cancel out sounds in ranges and volumes detrimental to the wearer.. The boots and legs are designed to be somewhat impact absorbent to help avoid injury when jumping from high places, and the entire suit itself has been manufactured in order to have sound dampening qualities that mean combined with his stealth training Strix can move virtually noiselessly, which also aids the accuracy of the Echo System.

Strix's utility belt and its' contents are his most useful tool in his war against crime and evil. Their typical contents are as follows:

-Two grapple-guns capable of launching seperate lines that can be fed through the micro-motor in his belt.

-High-tension lines and grappling hooks for the same that can be loaded into the grapple-guns and micro-motor.

-Micromotor for the grapple lines stored in the belt, it is capable of being detached from the belt and firmly attached to multiple different surfaces enabling them to be the central focus of grapple lines as they are pulled in.

-a pair of stun guns with variable power settings, though the higher the output the faster the batteries drain, and of course higher outputs aren't safe for use on normal humans. Can use both projectile dart and close range "stun drive" settings.

-A rebreather/air filter capable of sealing onto the uncovered part of Strix's face to protect from chemical attacks.

-Numerous 'pellets' stored in separate compartments. Pellets are handheld capsule-like devices primarily used as tools and throwing weapons that come in many varieties his standard load-out includes 'glue' pellets that either ooze or explode into a gooey, incredibly strong adhesive substance that is also a strong insulator, 'Ice' pellets that burst open and release super-cooled helium in order to flash freeze targets,'stun' pellets that are effectively flashbang grenades, and 'smoke' pellets that release smokescreens. He also has explosive pellets that can be set to timed or trigger function.

-feather-shaped throwing knives, both in true sharpened knife or shuriken-like variety and blunted variety

-The Echo System. One of Strix's most useful gadgets, it is a device capable of emitting sound in a wide scope of frequencies and volumes, including those audible to humans and those far above and below. This enables it to do things including linking up with the cowl's HUD in order to give Strix 'sonar-vision', emitting infrasound that can disorient or unnerve opponents, and even emitting bursts of sound loud enough to shatter glass or temporarily deafen foes.

-Strix has also developed a V/STOL stealth aircraft capable of faster-than-sound speeds for his more distant out-of-town work as well as for combating certain potential threats. It can be equipped with conventional missiles and weapons if needed as well as with payloads similar to some of his 'pellets', but almost always is equipped with defensive countermeasures against anti-aircraft weapons.

Apart from any of his equipment as Strix, John Sunday Keller has substantial wealth, both as CEO and majority shareholder of KellerCorp and as sole heir to an already very wealthy family.

Weaknesses: Strix is still an ordinary human underneath his suit and skills, meaning he can get injured or killed as easily as any human. The suit itself is hardly a full guarantee of protection as it is not designed to protect from bladed weapons and the safety it provides from fire, radiation and other forms of harm are all somewhat limited, ensuring the only real way to avoid any harm is not to get hit. Strix's driven and sometimes paranoid nature could also be considered a weakness at times.

Psychological Profile: Strix sees much of the world as something controlled by what he calls The Conspiracy. Everything is connected, often in ways so subtle that no one ever really notices, or bothers even trying to notice. The murder of his parents was just the initial shock that opened his eyes to the truth. He has dedicated his life to unraveling the sinister web of control The Conspiracy has around the world and exposing it. This can at times actually serve to make him a much better detective, as he's willing to investigate leads and connect dots in ways that others would have to be crazy to even consider. While he's definitely more than a little obsessed, he is actually willing to and capable of work on unrelated cases and problems, especially ones that would threaten harm to innocent people.

In his life as John Sunday Keller, he is part laid-back party-going socialite, part inventor and CEO part and philanthropist. There are numerous reasons for his secret identity. The most obvious of course is that by maintaining a civilian life, he deflects The Conspiracy's suspicion. His active social life is an excellent source of information on those agents of the conspiracy that move at the upper-levels of society. His job as CEO and a contributing inventor of KellerCorp both keeps his parents' legacy alive and provides him with numerous resources in his crusade for the truth. Lastly his philanthropic activities are both to honor his parents' memory and to weaken the conspiracy by creating his own positive influence in the wider world. With all of this in mind, he plays his dual roles with the same level of dedication, though he might look at you funny if you accuse him of enjoying his civilian life.

Apart from life as a crimefighting owl-themed detective and partying genius billionaire, John likes various different kinds of tea only partially eu3 to its' effects as a stimulant and has an obsession with all things sweet that he says fuels his brain despite requiring him to work out intensively and counteract it nutritionally in order to maintain his physique. He intensely dislikes killing and guns, with most of his weapons designed with non-lethal applications. He's fond of many genres of music, but especially Free Jazz, as it has fewer established patterns and structures, which he says relaxes him. His favorite kinds of food are Mexican, Italian and Chinese.

Biography: John Keller was born the child of Frederick and Amy Keller, an pair of incredibly affluent 'old money' New Englanders who spent much of their time on philanthropy and social improvement. Their wealth was further bolstered by Frederick's family company The Keller Corporation, a multinational, multi-industry conglomerate with branches in everything from aeronautics and robotics to safety gear and medical equipment, but specializing in the research and development of and applications for so-called 'cutting edge' technologies. John lived about as happy a life as possible, with loving parents and a more comfortable life than many people could even dream of. One of the things John liked most was spending as much time as he could around the various labs and workshops of KellerCorp's applied sciences division, trying to learn everything he could about the sort of work that went on there, eventually even showing hints of an aptitude for technology remarkable in a young child.

However, John's happiness was shattered forever when he was just eight years old. His parents had just taken him to see a movie and they were on their way back from the cinema when they were stopped by a gun-wielding mugger. John's father tried to talk the mugger down but the man panicked and fired, killing both of John's parents in front of him and then fleeing the scene. To John, the world stopped making sense on that day, and justice ceased to exist. It seemed impossible to him that his parents' deaths were simply a random act of desperation and violence. There had to be more to it, some secret his father had uncovered, or the anger of a business rival or the mob or something. But if the universe wasn't going to make sense and if there truly was no justice, then he would simply have to make sense of it on his own and create justice for himself.

From then on John began training himself in both mind and body despite his young age. Between diligent study with the best schools and private tutors his not-inconsiderable money gave him access to plus all of the information the best minds at KellerCorp's disposal could give him, John Keller forced himself to be as close as he could to a true child prodigy, learning as much as he could about everything that he could in order to become brilliant enough to figure out the complex, perhaps even all-encompassing conspiracy he knew must be behind his parents' deaths. While his knack for all things technological moved from a hobby to a sharpened weapon as he contemplated tools for his crusade, he also put much emphasis on learning criminology, forensics and investigative techniques, believing that only the world's greatest detective would be able to solve a mystery that had the whole world fooled. Aware that those behind The Conspiracy were dangerous enough to have his parents killed and that he could rely on no one but himself, he trained physically just as relentlessly, honing his body and studying as many martial arts as he could with near-blinding drive and dedication in preparation for his revenge.

By age 14, John felt that what he could learn at home, even with the numerous resources at his disposal, was not enough. Thus he began travelling the world to find different teachers. He studied ever more diverse martial arts and investigative techniques while also attending various schools and universities and subtly probing for signs of The Conspiracy.

When The Awakening hit the world, things finally began making sense again for John. Life was suddenly revealed to have endless possibilities, endless new twists in The Conspiracy, and now with the world a bigger place filled with even stranger people all out in the open, he could finally begin his hunt for them. But he knew he couldn't do it as just John Keller. A mere man would be too easily killed, too easily stopped, and besides, he wanted to punish all those responsible for The Conspiracy's evil in the world, to drive fear into their hearts. So he adopted the identity of Strix, using modified KellerCorp technology of his own design and choosing the owl motif both to invoke the feeling of a silent hunter of the night and because of the connection between owls and secret knowledge in some civilizations, representing his quest for the 'real' truth.

So he returned home and began hunting for The Conspiracy, starting with the same sorts of street-level thugs that killed his parents to see what they knew and moving on from there. Occasionally he would find himself stopping crimes and super-villains along the way, usually those in some way connected to The Conspiracy. This got him labelled as a superhero and a vigilante, although that was never really his intent. His search for agents and plots of The Conspiracy have taken him all over the place even now that he has established himself as Strix, and despite his 'eccentric beliefs' he's managed to work with several other heroes. With the founding of the League Strix has finally found an organization hopefully free from the Conspiracy. With their help, he might finally be able to make the world make sense again and create true justice.

Affiliations: His truest friend is a wolf named Wahaya.

Occupation: officially he has no occupation, and lives off the land. Every few years the United states Government contracts him to train special forces operatives in scouting and hand to hand combat. This was orchestrated by his father, a prominent member of the JTF.

Appearance: 6' tall, 190 pounds, bronzed skin (though not quite as dark as other natives) med length blonde hair loosely swept back. lean, and semi-muscular. commonly wears hand made hide clothing, though will sometimes wear more common attire to blend into a crowd if need be.

his hero costume involves warpaint of the wolf clan, leather pants and a top that have been hardened in strategic areas, and a wolf fur mantle on his shoulders which hangs just below his waist.

Powers: heightened strength, speed, awareness, and tactical insight which instinctively draws him to strategically favorable options, (he calls this blood of the wolf) and the ability to foresee a few seconds into his own future at any time. He is also Spiritually bound to his companion Wahaya.

Skills : scouting, hand to hand combat, advanced melee weapons combat, survival skills, and field medicine. He is also a very cunning strategist.

Equipment: may carry any combination of a tomahawk/hatchet, a self made spear, a self made recurve bow, and two steel knives. always carries two bone knives made from the femurs of a Grizzly bear.

Weaknesses: He is only marginally less vulnerable than an average human, anything that would kill a normal man has a good chance of killing him. He is also bound spiritually to Wahaya, and that could be used against him.

Psychological Profile: Kaz is a bright young man, wise beyond his years, with drive and purpose. Everything he does, he does with confidence and discipline. He has a very strict moral code, and has a very clear idea of what is right and what is wrong. Though he doesn't see the death of evil men to be a bad thing, he tries to avoid it for the sake of the alliance's reputation. Though he can be a bit of a loner at times (as he is accustomed to solitude,) Kaz is very friendly, optimistic, and idealistic. He believes he was given power to protect those who cannot fight for themselves.

Biography: Kaz was born in northern Ontario, to an Irish father (a soldier and martial artist) and an aboriginal mother (a traditional artist, craftswoman, and historian.) Named for his father's sensei and mentor Takeda Kazuma. At a young age, Kaz was presented with the option of being raised in the traditions of his mother's people or a modern lifestyle. Kaz chose the traditional ways as he felt that it would be the only way to find his path. His father, though not born as one of them, adopted the ways of the tribe in order to better lead his son. Kaz received a complex upbringing focused primarily on traditional ways, but combined with all the modern brilliance that his father had to offer.

Because his father was often moving from base to base, Kaz would travel North America visiting various tribes and Aboriginal communities. He was avid in trying to take all the useful aspects of their ancient traditions, to add to his repertoire. While being taught to track by a Cherokee elder in North Carolina, Kaz was forced to defend himself against an aggressive wolf (of considerable size.) Having nearly lost his life, Kaz spoke out in his frustrations against the "wild beast." His elder escort quickly corrected him, explaining: "Wahaya are no mere beasts; they are protectors of the land, protectors of the woods, and protectors of family." As if on cue, the wolf's pup came running through the brambles in search of its mother. The sight Broke Kaz's heart. He donned the hide of the slain mother, as it was the only way to have the pup leave her side, and committed himself to be the family he had taken away from it.

At the age of 21, Kaz was on a spirit journey; it was time, as his elder had pointed out, to find his true purpose in this world. He and Wahaya set out into the wilderness and wandered for days. He prayed often, hoping that he would be heard and that his questions would be answered. After nearly 2 weeks, on December 21st, it happened. His powers had been awoken, and he had seen the great spirit. His body was filled with the blood of the wolf (this is metaphorical of course) and he had insight into the course of actions that no others seemed to have. He felt called to rise up as a champion for the weak, and to prepare himself; for a great battle awaits him at the end of the warpath.

Psychological Profile: Samantha is loyal, dedicated and will do almost anything for anyone she considers a friend. However her time in the gang has left with several problems among which is a tendency towards addictive behaviour, a short and often violent temper and a lack of remorse for her actions. In addition her time in prison left her with an extreme sense of privacy and she struggles to open up to those she hasn't known for a long time. When it comes to taking a life Samantha will not hesitate although as a police officer she prefers to see those who break the law face justice. She views her powers as a chance to protect those she once harmed and a chance to make up for her past mistakes.

Biography: Samantha grew up in New YorK, her father was a doorman and her mother worked in a supermarket. Her childhood was rather unremarkable, she went to school, made friends got into arguments with her parents but that all changed when she went to highschool. It was there she fell in with a bad crowd and ended up joining a street gang. For the next couple of years she committed various crimes ranging from tagging walls to dealing drugs to her classmates. When she was sixteen her actions caught up with her and she was arrested for possession and sent to a juvenile detention facility. It was there she made a decision to turn her life around and upon her release left her old gang and became interested in becoming a cop.

After leaving high school Samantha completed a degree in psychology and after leaving college enlisted in the NYPD. On the day of the awakening she was called to investigate a lab break in where she was bitten by one of the escaped spider specimens which after a few days of serious Samantha discovered she had developed extremely unique spider powers. Naturally Samantha developed the costumed identity of Arachnid in order to both fight crime and protect her friends from recriminations. As an added bonus using her powers in her day to day police work led to her promotion to work as a homicide detective.

Appearance: Elise appears as a rather small female, standing roughly 5'5'' and weighing no more than a little over a hundred pounds, she has light skin that appears to grow more pale during the day and hair as dark as the night sky. Her eyes appear to go from a vibrant lively green during the day to a steely blue-grey at night. When she taps into her superhuman abilities, her eyes will either glow a reddish color during the day or a shimmering silver at night. It is also important to note that the brighter the sun is shining, the more in shape Elise appears to be almost growing muscle tissue when the sun is out, at night her body appears more slender elongating her fingers and ears while softening the sturdiness of her build.



Powers: Elise has the power of what she calls "celestial body empowerment", which is basically a way for her to explain how depending which of the two celestial bodies dominate the sky. During what is considered 'dusk' and 'dawn' or when the Moon and the Sun share the sky Elise's abilities are at their weakest having to transfer from one style to another.

Solar Empowerment
Elise's body absorbs the ambient solar rays which empower her physically, increasing her overall physical endurance, strength and durability while also granting her an abnormally high rate of regeneration. The skin becomes hardened, allowing her to take high levels of physical abuse with a high pain threshold. However she seems to lose most of her energy-based abilities her nightly counterpart wields, except for the light constructs which become much more powerful in the day at the cost of a more limiting range. This allows her to create slightly more complex light constructs instead of the basic shapes she does at night. It is also to note that during the day the energy takes a deep orange hue

Lunar Empowerment
During the night, her body loses all the physical increases and trades them off for powerful energy attacks. Namely the ability to release a dark blue, highly volatile plasma from her body in the forms of both blasts and beams, also using the energy to grant herself limited levitation. She can also use this energy to manipulate the light around her into basic geometric shapes, which have a much greater range than during the day. However weak her body is, Elise holds one defensive trait that she can utilize at night, her body can become intangible for a maximum of six seconds at a time requiring her to hold her breath. This time spent intangible gives her just enough time to evade one single string of attacks before she is forced to solidify once more. She may also 'release' her energy and transform herself into a being of energy which grants her high speed flight.

Skills: Elise lacks any formal training for anything that could be considered an asset, instead her lifestyle has taught her how to deal with a large variety of characters, granting her an impressive level of charisma. Elise also has a sort of street knowledge that few people could really understand, having grown up around the scummiest of the scum.
Equipment/Resources: Generally, Elise requires nothing for her abilities. Instead she carries a backpack often which includes a spare change of clothes, her cellphone and a variety of other basic items any person may carry. When in need, Elise can hide the backpack and come to it later.
Weaknesses: During the day Elise's body is hardened and allows her to be a more defensive fighter, as opposed to her nightly counterpart. She lacks range and utility in this form but makes up for it in raw defensive traits allowing her to become one of the middle class close-range brawlers. Her nighttime counter part holds all the power the daytime one does not, allowing her to dish out high levels of damage but at the cost of making her extremely vulnerable and frail. Her power level itself is also dependent on the cycle of the moon, while most nights it stays relatively the same when in the new moon phase she loses a large chunk of her power yet during a full moon she appears to get some sort of boost in power.

Psychological Profile: Elise is a young woman who has seen her fair share of terrible things, causing her heart to grow tough and allowing her mind to handle even the most strenuous situations while keeping cool. One thing Elise learned during her time alone was keeping a leveled head often resulted in you keeping said head. Having lost many friends throughout her time Elise has grown somewhat cold and aloof to anyone who she comes in close contact with, eventually reaching a point where she will shut them out. She acts as something of a lone wolf, preferring to stay alone seeing most humankind as bad. Everyday she finds herself struggling morally with just how evil this world is. She knew that men who would give a bullet for one would just as easily put it in another, people were not the kind and gentle creatures they imagined. They were dark things which occasionally felt bad about all the things they had done. Elise herself is one of the kindest and most honest persons you could ever meet, she aims to be what every human should; honest, thoughtful, empathetic and courteous although at times even she struggles with her morals.

Dblade, your character looks fine so far. I'm in the process of creating a CS for Pariah, this Universe's premier Batman-type but Strix is actually much different. Super-intelligence would probably be reserved for full-on Scientific heroes and muscle mimicry seems like it could be abused to easily solve problems. If you wish you could choose to have enhanced agility or reflexes or some-such but it is not required.

In your full sheet, you'll have to explain why he trained in martial arts and how he attained his aptitude for criminology and inventing along with his motivations for learning any of those.

Shanks, your basic character sheet has a few surface flaws that aren't much by themselves but taken together aren't quite up to snuff. First off I don't know why a native in Canada would have a japanese name, that just seems like you put that there to have a 'cool' name. If you want to have a native character, use a name that an aboriginal of Canada would have. Also Wahaya is the Cherokee name for a wolf so that doesn't really make sense. If you want to have a native character you gotta specify what tribe that character is from and be consistent with it. He also probably wouldn't be blond.

The idea that the US comes to him to train their soldiers seems like that's shoehorned in and doesn't make any sense. That detail can be omitted and nothing would really change. Keep in mind that he'll be fighting pretty formidable enemies and he probably shouldn't survive any one of those enemies since very few rely on only melee weapons. If he's supposed to be a fusion of the old ways and the modern world, equip him with more modern equipment so that he could plausibly survive. You'll have to more fully explain tactical insight and what that lets him do. And it seems like if he has some kind of "spirit" powers, you could get a lot more traction from those but that's just a suggestion. A spiritual bound to a wolf would also count as a power.

Also keep in mind that almost no Native tribes live the same way they did hundreds of years ago. They all are pretty much modernized so the idea in your bio that these Natives were entrenched in the 'old ways' comes off as stereotypical. You also have to plausibly describe how he met and befriended a wolf. Just fix those issues in your final sheet and you'll be fine.

Mat, I assume she's some kind of Spider-Man like hero and so far I am pleased with this haha.

I have reasoning behind all of those and will address them, I just didn't want to write a whole book on the character before the RP even started.

He has a Japanese name because he was named after his father's sensei and mentor Takeda Kazuma (I mentioned his father was a martial artist.) One of the reasons he only goes by Kaz is because people find that an odd name for a Canadian. Also there are not really any "Aboriginal" names, at least none that I am familiar with. All the Natives I know have modern western names.
I know Wahaya is Cherokee for Wolf. It is not meant to be a cool sounding name. It is meant to be exactly what he is. He is wolf.
I purposely did not specify a native culture for him to be a part of, because I don't want anyone to be offended by his actions or minor discrepancies in traditions. Also the VAST majority of aboriginal people in Canada are mixed. My wife, for example, is Ojibwe, Cree, and Metis. This is very common.
He is blonde because his Father is Irish. My daughter is blond and is exactly half Native, half Irish.

The only reason I included his contract position with the United States Government, is because the CS requested occupation. I would not have bothered otherwise. But the reason he is affiliated with them at all is that his father was on the JTF, whose operations are overseen by the US government, and they were looking for specialist training that would give their men an edge over other special forces groups.

He was raised to be aware of the modern world, and was given a proper education, as well as strategies and philosophies of the modern world. But he still chose the traditional ways, so that is what he sticks to. His hardened leather armor was made in a similar way to the Romans, boiled in oil etc., to make it as hard as steel in places, but kept soft and flexible at the joints. His main method for surviving powerful opponents is evasion (increased speed and foresight) or, if he must he will try to arrange it so the attack lands in a properly armored area.

I consider tactical insight part of the blood of the wolf abilities. Wolves have a natural tactical insight when it comes to hunting, attacking, or defending. Their instincts push them towards the most strategic decisions, which is what i would say happens with SilverWolf: he instinctively is drawn to the most strategically advantageous path. (such as picking off the weakest first when dealing with a group, or disabling an opponent's ability to attack before going for the finisher when defending.)

And finally, yes I know MOST aboriginal people no longer live in a traditional way. But there are reserves, both in the states and in Canada, Where they are fundamentally focused on preserving the ways of their ancestors. Yes even those are relatively modernized, but I never specified HOW traditional it was. I also don't think anything I claimed was stereotypical or in anyway offensive to Native peoples, and I ran this char past my wife (again a full blooded native) who agrees.

I hope these explanations satisfy your concerns. I realize how it may have seemed like I was throwing stuff in haphazardly, but I was only trying to keep it all a reasonable length.

Ah ok, now that clears it all up. I'm sorry if that feedback offended you, but my first impression was that the CS seemed haphazard as you say. But I am more than satisfied by your explanations. Occupation doesn't necessarily mean your character actually has to have a job. They can be unemployed if you want. So that detail can be left in or put out at your own discretion. Thank you for alleviating my concerns and you are officially the first player to be accepted into the RP.

Aside from summoning Excalibur to him, calling the sword's name changes Zachary's physical appearance to that of a man in his prime, and grants him super strength. While wielding Excalibur, Zachary is able to rip through steel, punch through brick walls, lift cars, etc. This also allows Zach to leap incredible distances.

Skills
When wielding Excalibur, Zach has access to the knowledge of all of the sword's past wielders, including tactics, personal information, and combat technique. This makes him proficient in many areas including, but not limited to, swordplay, history, linguistics, and strategy. When not wielding Excalibur, Zach has virtually no special skills to speak of.

Equipment/Resources

The Armour of Kings
The Armour of Kings is a mystical suit of armour that materializes around Zachary when he makes contact with Excalibur. Light as a feather, but harder than titanium, the suit provides incredible protection from physical damage, while also allowing for great maneuverability. The suit is also magically warded to protect from extreme elemental environments, and magical attacks. The suit also allows for absolute self-sustenance, allowing the wearer to breathe underwater and in other places where they would not normally be able. The self-sustaining suit keeps the wearer in a form of constant peak condition, meaning they will never tire, and, theoretically, will not age while wearing the suit.

Excalibur
Excalibur is a legendary and powerful magical artifact. It is proven to be able to cut through almost anything, and it's blade glows with a bright blue flame when in combat. This flame can be projected at will by the sword's user, and burns at extremely hot temperatures.

Weaknesses
If Zach were to be seperated from Excalibur, he would revert to being an ordinary human.

Psychological Profile
Zach is best described as strained. His fight against the dark arts takes up all of his time, making it impossible to have a 'normal life'. Indeed, he is almost never seen in his ordinary form. This, coupled with teenage hormones, makes for a bad combination of depression and a short temper.

In your full sheet, I'd like for there to be a plausible reason for an eighteen-year old to stumble on one of the greatest magical artifacts of all time. You could age him up a few years if you want, that might make it more plausible. Also keep in mind that the White Fellowship of Sorcerers is just that, an organization of Sorcerers. Excalibur could be one of their allies but he wouldn't be a full-time member. Sorcerers are kinda elitist like that. You could also have him be the Champion of some Modern-day Knightly Order if you want, a few of those guys are still around and are on surprisingly good terms with the magic users. Those Templars however...

I'd like for all of the more incredible powers the suit and sword have to be the 'upper limit' if you will of its powers. Normally, I'd like for the suit and sword to not allow you to completely ignore attacks or cut through absolutely everything. Your character should still be able to sustain some injury and I'd like for there to be badass sword fights and not have you cut through the other guys blade instantly haha. Also your powers should have some kind of cost. Perhaps it takes a physical toll or needs a magical recharge but it should cost something. It's fine for Zack to not be that special but he should have some quality that explains how he obtained the sword. Otherwise if he didn't have the sword and had absolutely nothing special about him, he might be kinda useless. Of course he could pick up some skills as the roleplay progresses.

Also he might want a codename that's something besides his weapon but that's just a nitpick haha. Just keep in mind everything else I said for your full sheet and you should be fine. And I'm kind of reminded of He-Man for some reason.

I was kinda' basing him off of Billy Batson/Captain Marvel with an Arthurian twist. I'm thinking perhaps the sword has to choose someone from the right bloodline, making him a prime candidate. As for the fellowship, the plan was for him to be an associate/honorary member I suppose. More of a weapon for them. He'd follow orders from them that he'd receive through his contact within the order, whom I'll probably call Merlin, because why not? I'll tone the sword itself down, and add some more weaknesses. A recharge time sounds good. In regards to Zach himself being sort of bland as far as skills go, I'm not exactly sure what you want there. I made him young so that the sword would be able to demonstrate transformative properties, similar to Shazam's lightning. I remember being eighteen, and I don't remember having an abundance of skills that would be relevant here, hah.

And as for the name, I kinda' imagined it'd be similar to how people erroneously refer to Captain Marvel as Shazam. I can change it though, I suppose.

The RP will start in the middle of the League's first meeting in Chicago. Each of the characters will have been sent an invitation to the meeting and everyone starts there. The first mission starts a little after that. Hopefully this avoids the whole 'hey, how are you' phase a lot of rps stumble on in the beginning.

EDIT: Lucian, I kinda saw that too but He-Man seemed an apt analogy as well as Excalibur isn't a flying brick like Captain Marvel. This Universe did have a real Merlin, but no one is quite sure where he went off to. So his contact having the codename Merlin is fine, but him being actual Merlin isn't. As for Zack, by skills I mean does he have any exceptional qualities? Is he a quick thinker? A negotiator? Things like those. Skills don't have to be physical or technical, as I said. But you're right, you don't want too many skills to start with. But your character should have at least one quality that adds something to the mix.

Appearance: Gabriel is 6.4 feet tall and well built for a human being. He has short blond hair and bright blue eyes. Most of his clothing is of modest design such as white shirts and trousers. He also wears black shoes and socks. When Gabriel becomes St Michael, he grows glowing angel wings and his costume is that of a battle ready angel with armor that offers protection against evil attacks. Over his chest plate, he wears a white tunic with a Catholic holy cross on it. His hair grows to medium size and his eyes glow, his muscles also become more defined.

Powers: Gabriel's powers stem from God and the power that all angels and saints share. When he wants to become St Michael, Gabriel says these words in Latin, "In name of the father, the son and the holy spirit, St Michael the archangel, I wish to become thee." His powers draw from the power of faith and the seven virtues, meaning that the more fateful people are, the more powerful they become. This power gives him high-speed flight and enhanced strength, and several others. Each of them are in someway related to aspects of the Catholic Church, they are as followed.

Confession: This power allows him to force enemies to tell the truth, but it does require eye contact to do so and it can be resisted by those with a very strong will and powerful black arts. The strength of Gabriel's Confession is determined by how strong his will is, but there is a danger to making stronger, if it becomes too powerful it can cause mental harm whoever he using it on. The power does not work on divine or extremely powerful spiritual beings.

Purification: This ability allows Gabriel to ether drain evil energy from an area or act as a sort of healing ability to heal those who have been effected by evil. Although it can heal people effected by dark powers, it doesn't work well with healing regular wounds and it is much harder to heal beings who are directly influenced by powerful evil entities. This power can also be used to shoot beams of holy light to hurt demons.

Damnation: This power gives Gabriel the ability to cause large amounts of destruction if he wishes it. Damnation allows him to create powerful blasts of fire and brimstone to send at his enemies. He can also shoot holy lightning from his hands which only harms those who commit sin or are evil. Despite this abilities great power, if Gabriel uses i too frequently then he can become drained of his divine energy and thus made weaker.

Skills: Great amount of knowledge, excellent swordsmen, very skilled with his hands and extremely literate.

Equipment/Resources: His armor is made to protect him against demonic attack and the black arts. Finally he has a sword with a blade made of pure flames that he can only wield and if anyone tries to use the sword then they will be burned by it.

Weaknesses: Things made of iron can hurt him more easily than most other objects, and he has almost no special defenses against silver. Silver is almost like his kryptonite in that it will slowly drain him of his powers if he comes into very close proximity to it. Since his powers stem from the God and the seven virtues, if Gabriel succumbs to one of the seven deadly sins then his powers will become weaker. Places where people are of little faith can also make him weaker.

Psychological Profile: Gabriel is very honest and well-mannered, humility is among one of his most prominent characteristic. He is very loyal to his faith, friends and church. Thanks to his Virgo personality it is not easy to anger him, but he really hates those who are prejudiced against the Catholic Church. Like with many born under the Virgo sign, he is very analytical, thoughtful and very good at observing situations around him. He can seem cold to those who do not know him very well, but he does have a heart and feelings, but chooses to show it those closest to him. He is very kind to those in need and will try to help them as much as he can. His sense of helping those less fortunate became even stronger when his powers began to manifest themselves. Growing up catholic made him have the catholic mentality of not always enjoying the things he is given because of those less fortunate in the world.

In terms of politics Gabriel is somewhat conservative in his views of society, and the home. He considers himself an old fashion republican before the modern Teaparty. He believes that the government should be there to help provide safety and proper care for America’s citizens. He fully supports the US constitution, and believes that it is a document that should be followed by every US citizen. He is believer that every person can have a second chance and be redeemed if they show penance for their crimes, but there a few crimes that he cannot always forgive. Gabriel tries to live his life and help people by following the Corporal Works of Mercy and the Spiritual Works of Mercy. He believes that those who have the power to save lives should do it. He is against the fashion and cosmetic industry believing they push the idea that god’s creations need to be made more beautiful through fashion and cosmetics. He also doesn’t like the modeling industry, and believes that it exploits the body for the sake of money almost like prostitution. He is also a serious critic of feminism, viewing it as movement that promotes ignorance and hatred against men and destroys the American family, and is hypocritical. He celebrates holidays in the traditional sense, seeing the modern holidays as too materialistic. Despite his fundamental belief in Catholicism, he does accept science and evolution but believes that they are a means of explaining god’s miraculous creations. When his powers manifested themselves, he believed it to be a sign from god that he was do the will of the catholic church and spread their kindness to the entire world, this is why he swore an oath to the church and the pope, to be a symbol of hope and faith to catholic faith and the world.

Biography: Gabriel was born in Chicago to an Irish American family. He had a younger sister named Caitlin who was very sick and doctors were unsure of how long her body would out. Because medicine could not help his sister, his family turned to prayer for comfort. Both his mother and father were faithful Catholics who prayed for their daughter’s recovery every time they went to church. Gabriel in his younger years formed a very close bond, and when Caitlin was too sick to leave her bed, he read stories to her to make her happy. The times when she was well enough to be out of bed, they played together for as long as they could. When he was twelve, his sister seemed to be getting better and Gabriel hoped that a miracle had happened giving his sister back her life. But two months later on the Monday after thanksgiving, her health declined, and soon you she was on her deathbed. Gabriel’s parents were heartbroken that their only daughter had died, despite their prayer for her life. Gabriel was full of sorrow at the loss of his beloved sister, and for years he suffered from depression. His childhood went by quickly in his sadness, but there was some light in the darkness that was his sorrow. He met a beautiful girl named Lily and they became close. It wasn’t until he was seventeen that he told her his feelings for her. She told him that she too felt a loving connection between the two of them. And so he began a relationship with Lily, Gabriel knew that he had met the woman he would marry someday. Years pasted and they planned to be married when they were twenty-three years old.

Just before his 22th birthday, he had taken a trip with Lily to the holy land of Jerusalem and while on a tour through the city, Gabriel a heard the voice of someone he could not see and he followed the sound of the voice to the ruins of a centuries old church. When he entered the church, the owner of the voice made himself visible and it was Saint Michael the Archangel. Gabriel fell to his knees in complete shock and sent a prayer to God. Saint Michael told to rise and spoke to Gabriel, telling him why had come to him. He told him that he was chosen by God to become one of guardian saints of the world and take name of the saint to serve as a protector of the people against evil. Gabriel couldn't speak and Saint Michael reached out his hand and placed it on Gabriel's forehead. The angel began to glow and he instructed Gabriel on how to transform into him. Then the archangel disappeared in a flash bright light. Gabriel was shocked for several moments, and he wondered if what he had seen really happened. He spoke the words in Latin and almost immediately he transformed into St Michael and felt the incredible powers that God blessed him with. Gabriel from then on became a fighter for the people against the forces of evil. He then went to Vatican and swore his loyalty to the Catholic Church before the pope. He then went on his long journey as hero to fight for the unfortunate and oppressed, bringing hope to those who had faith. It had been three years and he is now married to Lily. They live in Chicago and he has decided that joining the new team of Superheroes known as the League of Heroes was a way of helping more people with his powers.
