dirkinz said so looks good for the most part but I feel like the magic is a little too strong, mainly because gravity magic, and especially if that magic can be used anywhere in any direction, it can be really OP. you did say something about higher level stuff using more magic but unless it is a lot it might be a bit much.

Okay, what if I change it to a magic that allows the user to temporarily copy another wizards magic. The only things that I can see is that the user doesn't know how to properly activate the new magic unless first seeing the original use one of their spells, that and the user might not be trained or skilled enough to properly use that magic. Another thing would be that the user can only use a certain amount of magics at once and attempting to use more than one if not trained enough may have drastically dangerous results.

okay, well i didnt have a problem with the magic itself before, just that gravity magic can be reall over powered and the way you described it made it seem a bit much. If I misinterpreted it then let me know. However, if you want to use the copy magic I will ask that you wait until I can discuss it with the midget as I think we have had to deal with that before and I would like his opinion on it. What you described sounds good to me but still. Im affraid though that that might not be untill later as I am going to get one more post then hit the hay.

Well if you were able to read this post before hitting the hay thanks but if not we'll there us a next time. I'm open to any suggestions as to how I could not make the gravity magic OP and discuss about it. But if it helps , I wasn't trying to make a character like Bluenote Stinger with his Fall spell that sings a large area down or create black holes, in the bio I just mentioned how Wes sunk his town was only because he could control the gravity in the area properly in his anger and also hurt himself through that process which was why he kept the bandages around him. I hope this somewhat help give some more description about how the magic will be used and if not I'll try going with the copy magic or magic drain as it's called in the anime.

I hope this is still open.

Name: Ursa Vastia
Age: 19
Magic:

Magic Level: A

History: Ursa never knew her parents, only being told that they both died when she was a baby. She was instead raised in the Northern Continent by her Grandfather, a crotchety old man by the name of Lyon. She never knew much about her Grandfather's past other than the fact that he was a former guild mage from Fiore and that something had happened in his youth that had left him broken inside.

Raised in Lyon's care, Ursa went through a very strict childhood consisting of backbreaking training in the cold, snowcovered mountains and also picked up a few of his bad habits. Her Grandfather taught him much of his magic during this time and what he refused to teach her, she secretly learned from his books. One night, she noticed that her Grandfather was acting strangely, he was too nice and told her stories about the Mage's Guilds in the south. Worried about his strange behaviour, but fascinated by his stories she eventually nodded off to sleep to the sound of his voice. When she woke she was alone in the house.

Ursa asked around the nearby town but nobody could tell her where her Grandfather had gone. She waited at home for him to come back but he never did. Finally Ursa had to leave. Remembering the stories he had told her, Ursa made her way south to Fiore seeking out a Guild to join.

Personality: Ursa is rather foul-mouthed and tends to be rather bad-tempered when sober. She enjoys alcohol. Having been forbidden from drinking by her Grandfather, she took his absence as a chance to indulge and discovered a passion for the drink.

Team Members: None

Three Strengths:
1. Strong Martial Artist
2. Resistant to cold
3. High physical endurance

Three Weaknesses:
1. Low tolerance for heat
2. Pyrophobia
3. Stripping habit (because every Ice Mage needs one)

Greatest Love: Alcohol

Motivation: To join a great Guild and one day find her Grandfather.

Appearance:

Additional Details: The tattoo on her stomach signifies that she was adopted into a tribal clan she encountered during her journey south. The tribe adopted her as one of their own after she bested their warriors in a friendly drinking competition.

All right, Expolar, what you described seemed to imply that Wes was able to manipulate any[/] spaces gravity to be [i]any strength or direction. The issue with this is that that sort of thing could easily rip a person limb from limb with very small areas of gravitational pull or kill a person with minimal effort (think about things like the force from star wars). The few gravity magicians in FT have been shown to be able to manipulate it to either be very strong or reverse its direction in an area but only one area at a time and never create sideways gravitational fields. These things seem to limit the power of gravity mages and without them the magic would be insanely powerfull. do you see where my skepticism comes from now? So as long as it doesn't get too out of hand your magic and the rest of your character is accepted.

Okay, first of I would like to say that I am not accepting your character as it is and I will be blunt with my issues.

first off is the name: Vastia. In the cannon of this RP, nearly every character in the mages guilds from the original version has died. that includes Lyon. He died around age 30, perhaps enough time to have offspring but not nearly enough to raise them.

second is your magic. several times in the orriginal, it is stated that molding magic is only limited by ones imagination, a molding wizard doesnt have a set spell list. Also, I dont believe Iced shell is a type of molding magic but rather a seperate spell all together.

third, history. Lyon is dead.

fourth, weeknesses. No, not every ice mage needs a stripping habit, in-fact in the official cannon only one ice mage has a stripping habit, gray. none of the others do.

fifth, the tatoo. why would a random tribe accept her as one of their own just for being an impressive drinker. perhaps a reward. Especially if she was just passing through anyways.

Finally, all in all she just feels like a female version of grey and Lyon put together which brings to mind this rule:

3. Absolutely no canon characters or copycats! Similar magic is allowed, but original magic is encouraged.

Sorry but I cannot accept this character.

Thank you dirkinz, and thanks for suggestion I will keep that in mind. The force in Starwars is actually a great example as to how I plan to use it since Wes has to move his arms and legs in order to control it, ripping people apart wasn't really what I had in mind so don't fret about because I also plan to make it more difficult to control more than one space and size the in gravity so people could roll or recover themselves out once the gravity becomes weaker and reverts back to normal.

Its cool I can understand, I had similar thoughts too but I really like the idea so I tried not to make it seem OP. And if I do ever some how step out of boundaries, just poke me and give me a snickers bar lol, but ya if you think I pushing it with the powers much, then just tell me and I'll retype it to now being to crazy :)

Just curious, but do you guys have some main plot that you hope we might follow as our story progresses, or is this something more like an episodic series with various kinds of quests? I'm cool with either one but I was just wondering, or unless you want to keep that as a secret lol.

I've got the guildmaster give me a second to read through the posts. On another note: Dirkinz and I are going to Denver Comic Con starting tomorrow, I will not be around and I do not think Dirkinz will be as active as he has been.
