Username: Wormgod
Inspiration: Username, and the little backstory I made for my username.
Race: Um...No real race, or species...I'm the god of the worms (earthworm, tapeworm, bloodworm...anything with "worm" in the name, except for grubs known as worms.), millipedes, and centipedes.
Appearance: Link That's me! The little purple earthworm-like thing. I have my crown (since I'm God of the Worms!) my cape, my eyeglasses (I am a worm, after all. I have bad vision.) and my royal steed. I'm about a foot long here, and Peter's ten feet long. He's an Arthropleura named Peter. He's actually black and not spiky at all; that's all armor, this green jade-like stone that the Cthulhu-worshippers trade to us in exchange for gold.
Physical Abilities: Not much...I can eat dirt, leaves, raw meat, and stuff...I can shout pretty loud so everyone can hear me. My natural speed is a whopping 27 feet per hour while the normal earthworm-size.
Powers: Being the god of worms, all worms, worm-like creatures, millipedes, and centipedes worship me. I can grow in size from the normal earthworm length--five inches--to thirty feet long--sandworm size! My royal steed is almost always with me. He acts as transport, (he goes about forty mph) a warhorse, and best bud.
Other: I like cheese.

Um... Hmmm, uh... I'm really not sure what to make of that...

Ah, I forgot to delete that part. I figured since many people (including me) have usernames, fursonas, etc. that are not human based, any creature is allowed. I did not "pick a random badass picture on teh Internetz" as you so eloquently call it. I paid for that picture through an art contest on Chickensmoothie.com. Here's a link to said art contest. I even have the same username.

I you want to point out a mistake, than fine, but don't insult me.

Woah. Defensive much? There's no way anyone here could possibly know where that picture came from, and honestly I don't expect anyone much cares. The point is that I, at least, was expecting a human-centric game because that's what 1 and 1.5 seemed to be, and that changed without warning to 'Worm god huzzah!' It feels to me, based on the other responses, like I'm hardly the only one. They really are two very different games, and while what your proposing is a totally valid game, it's a far cry from the ones it purports to be modeled after.

When the thread is titled 'You are the character,' it really ought to be based on 'you', not on 'some username and picture you chose to represent yourself.' Maybe that's just me, though.

It seems you have some knowledge about 1 and 1.5. Both were, as I understand this, based ENTIRELY around "some username and picture you chose to represent yourself." That's exactly what I'm doing here! That "worm god huzzah!" is a character something I created a long time ago as a sort backstory for my username. Of course, the username is from something else, but it created one of my first characters, and I really like it.

OK, I'm going to be honest here. I was expecting this to be a "we get sucked into the internet and turned into our avatars/signatures/etc." type deal like the last one was. With that in mind, I find someone getting turned into, in the words of Marcus Fenix, "A GIANT WURM!" just a little bit disturbing.

It's my character and I expect people to respect it! I don't go around telling people their characters are disturbing!

Do you know how insulting this is!? This is a writing community! I don't expect love or flowers or shit like that, but I do expect respect. If my character truly disturbs you--so much that you can't possibly join without vomiting--here's what you do: don't join. It's really simple.

And with that thought in mind, I imagine this roleplay is doomed, because my beloved character is "too nightmarish for roleplayerguild.com".

We expect respect, too. We expect you to respect the game that you theoretically read thoroughly and chose to run without changing. Your character doesn't fit in the game that you posted. That's not our fault. Get over it, and either change your character to match the game you posted, or close this thread and post the game that you actually want to run.

Either way, it's pretty clear to me that you're not the kind of person I want running a game, so peace.

Though, i have it admit i had some interest in this RP. I have noticed the handling was wrong at this moment.

Wormgod, i will have to agree with other people in aspect that maybe you were a little too aggressive when it came to some things. You have to understand that most of your rpers here were only moving over to this location because of the idea they had gained from the former (1.5). So, even while reading the changes made and such they didn't expect such a creature. As they had even quoted parts that stated Humans.

Of course by no means to i condemn creativity, and making a character that "isn't human" isn't wrong. I think maybe making your character more humanoid would appeal to the other players. Merely because (if we look in a sort of character perspective) when one is approached by a giant worm like being, the reception you would get from other people as it is isn't going to be one of high stature. If weapons and such are allowed, i would even go as far as some people may point guns or other weapons towards it before thinking about the fact they may be friendly. (RP wise of course.)

As for the general idea, i don't think it's bad again to allow monster like people. Just maybe present it in a better way? Again, it's about the fact that most of your audience comes from the other 1.5 area. Not that it's bad, just they are expecting a certain event. You weren't the only one at wrong here though, some reactions could have been better, people people are still people. Anyways, for the moment i'm going to have to agree with you in the statement that this is doomed.
