No response in the Interest Check thread, so I've copied/pasted my missive here:

I so, soooo want to join this with my Nism character Peet... however, public computers, as we all know, suck. What with time limits, and the fact my own personal comp holds all my refs and junk. And hasn't been removed from the box since I was forced to move. So, no way to work at home and transfer back and forth with my flash drive. Not to mention my work schedule, days off being Wed./Thurs. not being conductive to "activity."

Heh... funny, but when that new Green Lantern animated series came up, I couldn't help but put Peet in a situation where he became involved. So, yes, this would be a perfect place to play out a "history" for that idea. Oh, yeah, almost forgot. To those who may remember me and my posting on the "old" Guild, Peet is Thoee and Deen's future son, raised up to his "teen" years.

Oh so tempted...

I'm not sure what you want me to say in response? If you don't have time for the game and you're stuck using library/public computers I don't see how you'd keep up if the game really got going. I also have no frame of reference when it comes to your character Peet so....

If you're interested and want to join then say so and make a CS. Posting a paragraph about public computers and only really being off work Wed/Thurs and then talking to a few people about a character none of us knows anything about is just bad form. It's like walking into a movie and asking people about the library...LOL

Fair enough. It's just been so long now, all my history here lost, I'm reaching the point where my lack of home internet is driving my muse crazy. So many new stories here to play in, so many stories of my own to play, but...

Name: Magnar 'The Undying'

Age: 72

Sector: 17

Homeworld: Caervornia, a world very much like a medieval earth, with one key difference. Caervornia is a land of magic and myth, where wizards craft strange magic's and dragons rule the skies.

Personality: He's been called a killer, an outlaw and a scourge. Desperate to start again he is keen to give a more altruistic path a try. Magnus thinks he is easy-going, friendly and loyal. However he struggles to contain his darker traits. He's not one for handing out second chances, despite looking for one himself.

Experience: 6 months

Constructs: Bastard Sword, Hand Shield, Chained Flails, Crossbow, Throwing Knives. On the whole Magnar isn't very imaginative with his constructs, preferring brutal efficiency over fancy sophistication.

Former Occupation: Sell Sword.

Alien Power: Berserker Rage. Gives him increased strength, speed and reactions, while he ignores any wounds he gains. However he stops recognising the difference between friend and foe, and his constructs lose any sophistication.

Appearance:

Powers and/or Abilities: Magnar is an extremely capable warrior, having fought in some form or an other across several kingdoms for almost 20 years now. He learnt several languages from his own world, understands strategy and tactics, as well as how to hunt, track, cook, ride and steal. If it can help him stay alive he can do it.
When pressed in battle he can be swamped by a berserker like rage. When possessed by the rage he is stronger, quicker and feels no pain. However he is then unable to distinguish friend from foe, making him a danger to all around him. He tries to refrain from entering this state.

Personal History: Born in the highlands of Braeheid, Magnar was raised by his father to be a crofter. However the north is a dangerous place, so he was also trained to be able to fight. Even from a young age Magnar knew which he preferred. He joined every raid he could as soon as they would take him, desperate to earn a name for himself. The older men ironically called him 'The Undying' as they were sure he was destined for a early grave.

When simple clan infighting held no more attraction for him he left Braeheid, travelling to the Cragilan mainland. He fought wherever he could find a fight, travelling all the way to the Holy Lands and back. Whatever happened there changed him though as he now claims to want redemption for his past sins. Whatever those sins were, he isn't saying, but they seem to be weighing pretty heavy on him.

Seven months ago, after he put to paid a particularly nasty group of bandits who were poaching dragon eggs, he received his Green Lantern ring, the same ring that once adorned the finger of the infamous Jack T Chance. Though Magnar may not be the most deserving man in the universe, he does have the sorta chops needed to survive sector 17's specific dangers.

Miscellaneous: His familly is supposed to possess Fae blood, which may explain his wanderlust and bizarre battle fury.

Name - Kavud Huv (Known as Kav to most)

Age - 22

Sector - 3599

Homeworld - Ven

Personality - Conscientious, sociable, humble. The young Venan differs from the rest of his race in that he doesn't share their natural aggressive attitude. While most Venans would have policed a sector ruthlessly, Kav does so with a kindness, in that he would give people a chance to justify their actions before trying to negotiate a non-violent solution. This peacemaking attitude earned Kav the harassment and scrutiny of others back on Ven, harassment and scrutiny which he didn't miss and would rather forget. These moments of humiliation had helped shape a no-bullying attitude within Kav, one which he carries as one of his responsibilities as a Green Lantern. He also occasionally speaks in Venan tongue.

Experience - 2 months

Constructs - Paralysis Blast: A thin blast of energy that paralyses its target.
Willpower Barrage: A barrage of green energy that explodes upon contact.
Full Power Beam: A beam of energy that requires all of the ring's power. It's a very powerful attack, and factoring that with the power usage, Kav doesn't use it often.
Hand of God: A giant hand which Kav uses to manhandle and defend. Think a giant green floating rubber glove.
Cell Block: Complete with a password lock, Kav uses this to capture an enemy after he/she is incapacitated.

Former Occupation - Was a foot soldier in the Venan Defence Force.

Alien Power - Incredible Strength: Venans can lift over 40 tons, though they're obviously nowhere near as strong as Kryptonians.
Enhanced Reflexes: Venans can often see anything coming, be it a fist, a construct, or fast approaching meteor that was on its way to destroying a planet. However, if something was on their mind at the time, their reflexes would fail them, and they would be like any other person: relying on instinct.

Appearance - Something like this:

BRIEF Bio - Kavud Huv was born to highly-ranked warrior parents on the planet Ven. As a child he was trained harder than most Venan youngsters, treated harshly if he did not do as well as expected. This, and the observation of Venan cruelty on the battlefield, eventually led to Kav's pacifism in his teen years. This pacifism resulted in harassment from his peers, which eventually cemented a general dislike of Venians and an intolerance for bullying. At age sixteen, Kav was inducted into the Venan Defence Force, where he quickly found himself getting punished for refusing to engage in combat.

Flash-forward six years, and Kav is now in a platoon, fighting on the front lines of the second Venan War. Most of his unit was dead, only two others were left alive. An explosive projectile closed in on them from overhead. The two remaining soldiers didn't take notice... They were too busy mourning for their fallen teammates. Taking action, Kav tackled them both out of the way, a large crater now replacing them. Kav had saved their lives, though one was missing a leg, courtesy of the bomb. Later that day, a strange green ring found its way to Kav. Two months later, the young Venan is an active member of the Green Lantern Corps, policing Sector 3599.

Notes - Venans are a technologically advanced humanoid warrior race. Their social structure is made up of two classes- The Warriors and The Peasants, the latter being those who refuse to fight. Being a warrior race, war was bound to start, and there have been two Venan World Wars, if you will, to date.

Learnt several languages from his world. I know it's a moot point with the ring, but I wanted something to showcase his ability to learn. Sorry for the confusion, I've edited it to be clearer.

Hi Kang!

Guys, you've been patient the last few days with both this game and Astro City and I thank you all for it. Currently I'm working on the revised player/character lists for both this game and Astro City in the YJ2020 titanpad. Afterwards I'll get the opening IC posts up, I've got 2 days off and I wanna finish getting these two RP's rolling....

Edited the list, if anybody wants to try something more cannon or wants to know other planets in their sectors, I found this pretty intricate Sector Guide..., again, its pretty in depth. I use it for reference all the time.

Putting Bgztl in sector 2813 means I'm in the former sector of Krypton, with the Xudarian Tomar Tu as my sector partner at some point... working on the IC now...

My bad, kept going back to the old interest check thread and blindly ignoring the fact that I had a PM telling me to post my CS... Better late than never!

Name – Garren Deek

Age - 27

Sector - 2815

Homeworld - Braal

Personality – Garren is extremely confident to the point of being arrogant. He is impatient, stubborn and annoyingly snarky. His main redeeming feature is an antiquated sense of honour which makes him unerringly loyal to other members of The Lantern Core.

Experience – 9 Months

Constructs – A hard light flak jacket or combat vest which Garren will instinctively create on the cusp of any violence, crustacean-like pincers of varying size, up to 8 tentacles stemming from his torso in a cephalopod mass, jagged edged weapons which Garren will either use in close combat or as ranged projectiles – in a parody of Zeus hurling lightning bolts and finally, a hard light limb extension which will replicate his arm as it hurtles outwards from his body to grasp or strike.

Former Occupation – Paramedic

Alien Power – Garren lacks the majority of the magnetic powers associated with Braalian physiology, the sole exception being energy absorption. This allows Garren to absorb certain types of energy to temporarily boost his own attributes – namely his strength and durability. Both the type and amount of energy which Garren can absorb is also somewhat limited.

Appearance – Tall and lean with short-cropped black hair and dark brown eyes. (I’ll try and find a suitable image at some point.)

Brief Bio – Garren is from an extremely poor family and his career choice as a paramedic stemmed from necessity rather than choice. The economic disparity on Braal means that there is always an unfortunate need for medical attention among the underprivileged lower facets of Braalian society. Garren is too cynical to ever admit anything of the sort, but the state of Braalian culture has always been a bone of contention with him, his anger fuelled by his race’s origin as little more than human lab rats. His willpower and subsequent recruitment into the Lantern Corps has always been motivated by humanitarian motives, though he struggles against the subjective curse of racial bias and historical bitterness.

I'm going to say this now: I did not sign up to do this on another website. I signed up for this on the RPG not titan pad. I'm not going to go to an entirely different site to roleplay and am fully willing to drop out for that exact reason if this is going to be played on titanpad.

A few of the players I RP with in other games collaborate and bounce ideas back and forth in titanpad. The game isn't being RP'ed there, a few of us just take it to public pads in case any of the other players are online and want to chat or even collaborate on a post. I'm about to post the IC now, but if you'd rather drop out it's no big deal. Quite literally 3 or 4 of the other players are constantly on titanpads and it's how I keep up with players [works much better than PM's]. Not everybody is on them at once, and it's not a requirement to use them in the slightest. You've made it clear you'd rather not use them and that's fine, but a few of us like to keep in contact when RP'ing.

In the IC post I'm alluding to coded transmissions and my character heading towards Oa, and the last bit was just a part of my guy's origin. I figure one of our first threats will be a reimagining of the Invisible Destroyer, who will now be an invisible race of four armed purple tinted giants. They're gonna be big enough to tear apart a small moon like a strongman can tear apart a phone book. Like the size of ten mountains tall... the coded transmissions will lead into a galactic war of worlds...

Titanpad is a group chat application where you can write and edit pieces together as a group. It's great for collaborative posts and also helps keep everyone on the same page in terms of organizing storylines. It's not the home of the game. It's practically instant messenger.

Aaaaand.... posted. I'm in the titanpad now and just deleted the post I'd written, and I gotta get ready to take my son to his aunt's but I should be back in 45 minutes or so if anybody's still around.
