Alright, here is the template I'd like you to use

Character name:
Class:
Skills and talents:
Items:
Bio:

As a general rule, try to keep your character from being much more powerful than the ones we first meet in the game. Characters who are skilled at what they do are fine, but warriors capable of taking down Sten or mages who know Inferno already shouldn't show up until later, in the interest of keeping everyone at one general power level.

Character name:
Tal-Vashoth Zeynep Sihir

Age:
26

Species:
Qunari

Class:
Saarebas (Qunari Mage), more specific her prowess is being a Force Mage.

Skills and talents:
Fist of the Maker- The mage slams enemies into the ground with incredible power, against which armor is no protection.
Stonefist- The mage hurls a stone projectile that strikes with massive force.
Chain Lightning- The mage singes a target with lightning, and electrical arcs lance out to hit other nearby foes.
Hex of Torment- The mage curses the enemy, increasing damage from all sources for a short time.

Items:
Her polearm which doubles as her catalyst of dishing out the magic she knows.

Bio:
Zeynep was born Par Vollen and like all other qunari children, was sent to be raised by the Tamassrans of the capitol city, Qunandar. For a time she led the normal life that is expected of all qunari children, and of course would of more then likely have become one of the Tamassrans as well until the day came that she showed that she was cursed with the use of magic. When it was found out that she was plagued by this curse, she was removed from the care of the Tamassrans and placed in the care of an arvaarad, she became a saarebas. Those that she had come to know as brothers and sisters, the only form of family she would ever had, rejected her and she soon lost all contact to the world around her. Under the care of her arvaarad, she became nothing more then a social outcast due to the fear of magic that the Qun had. Zeynep learned to not speak at all after watching a fellow saarebas have his own tongue cut out of his mouth due to the accusation of that saarebas practicing magic while his arvaarad was not looking. She never spoke only gave nods and head shakes to questions or to show she was listening. She was lucky enough to be sparred from having her horns removed, making an agreement with her arvaarad that allowed her to keep her horns.
Zeynep eventually fooled them all that she was nothing more then a submissive servant, all the while she planned her escape. She might of not spoke but she secretly taught herself magic, it was never an easy task but she taught herself enough to have a means of escape. Eventually the time came where she could run, leave the Qun and become Tal-Voshoth. She never wanted to return to Par Vollen, there was nothing for here there to stay and she cursed the place for her exile from society and treatment which was no better then being an attack dog.
When the night came of her escape, she manage to slip by her arvaarad, asleep like a babe, never expecting that Zeynep would try such a feat. She would never know how long it took for them to discover her escape but it did not matter. She ran south, only stopping when necessary. She could not remain in one place for long, there was no knowing if she was being hunted down as she ran, if she was caught it would only mean death.
Once she managed to get as far as Orlais, that was when she took time to stop. She hid herself among the shadows of the city, finally cutting away the strand of strings that kept her mouth sown shut, not enough to entirely keep her from opening it but enough that it had been able to prevent most talking above a whisper, to finally hear her own voice again shocked her. She had not heard it in years since she had become saarebas, now though she was free of that accursed title and free to learn to speak the native tongue of Thedas. She had to learn on her own for quite some time, listening and piecing what everything meant. She learned a lot from her time in Orlais. Eventually though she left Orlais and continued south, coming to the Free Marches and finding herself in the city of chains, Kirkwall. Here she sold herself off as a mercenary for hire, what else could she do? She had no useful skills besides the little knowledge of magic she had, being able to at least be a mercenary for hire allowed her to learn more about other cultures, the language that most spoke, and at least a little more magic. Her time in Orlais as well as Kirkwall left her feeling slightly jealous of the people she saw. How they had so much freedom to choose their paths they desired, something she never had. Even the Circle of Magi she looked with awe as well, seeing how the mages were treated.
Despite her awe though, she still holds some ideals of the Qun and finds that most people are, for lack of a better term, weak and gets agitated by those that take the little things they have for granted. She also frowns upon those mages that would make deals with demons, seeing them as weak and unfit for the life they have.

Character name:

Corraich Fiadhaich

Appearance

Class:

Warrior

Skills and talents:

Corraich is an extremely capable warrior, having fought in some form or an other across several kingdoms for almost 15 years now. He can wield the axe, sword , knife or mace with equal skill, is an excellent fist fighter and has earned his stripes in shield walls across the land. Though he is nothing special with a bow he can still shoot an arrow when it is called for.

He has learnt several languages from his time travelling the world, understands strategy and tactics, as well as how to hunt, track, cook, ride, make basic potions from herbs and steal. If it can help him stay alive he can do it.

The Chasind are famed as hunters and trackers, and can rival elves in their stealth skills. Corraich is no exception, being extremely nimble and quiet when it is called for, even for such a large man.

When pressed in battle he can be swamped by a berserker like rage. When possessed by the rage he is stronger, quicker and feels no pain. However he is then unable to distinguish friend from foe, making him a danger to all around him. He tries to refrain from entering this state.

Items:

His prized possession is his Chasind flat blade, a deceptively simple looking weapon that has been handed down from father to son in his family for decades. He wears a tattered old great coat made from the skin of Tursa, the Great Bear. Corraich has several hunting and throwing knifes secreted around his person, ascribing to the belief that one can never have too many blades. His wife made him a small pendant which he wears at all times. Apparently the clan shaman blessed it, and it will protect him from hostile magic’s. Whether this is true or not he doesn’t know. At the start of the Rp he has gotten his hands on a good, two handed steel battleaxe.

Bio:

Hard places breed hard men, and the Korcari wilds is about as hard a place as they come. This saying has never been more apt than when discussing the infamous raider, warrior and barbarian; Corraich Fiadhaich. Born in an unremarkable and unnamed Chasind village somewhere in the Korcari wilds, his early life was much like his peers, save that Corraich’s father was the leader of his small community. His father was once a warrior and raider of some renown, and as it became apparent that Corraich had inherited his fathers size and strength it was decided he should be trained in the way of the sword in anticipation of him one day joining a stalker group. Corraich took to his training with gusto, and on the day of his thirteenth birthday headed out on his first raid, nothing more than a scavenging run against southern Ferelden.

From then on he joined every raid he could as soon as they would take him, desperate to earn a name for himself. The older men were sure he was destined for a early grave. Corraich proved them wrong though, and he soon made his skills as a warrior and a raider apparent. Corraich’s luck improved, receiving his own Mabarri hound, a strong and fierce beast that became his constant companion, and getting married to a beautiful young maiden who bore him two strong sons. His village became strong and rich through a combination of good fortune, good leadership and Corraichs raiding. The other clans grew jealous though, and soon he found himself fighting other Chasind as well as Ferelden knights.

The short clan war was fierce and brutal, but Corraich managed to led his outnumbered forces to a stalemate against their enemy. A truce was begrudgingly called, with all parties agreeing to an end to the blood letting. Some disagreed though, feeling that Corraich should suffer for his hand in killing their friends and allies, and so a group of his enemies led a secret nigh time raid against his home. As luck would have it Corraich was out that night. His foes, disgusted at this turn of events, decided to not let the night become a total waste. They had their way with his wife, killed his hound, then set his home ablaze with his family still inside. The crime was well done though, leaving not a trace of who had committed the act. When Corraich found out what had happened a grim and terrible rage took him. Without any proof he fell upon the closest enemy he could find, breaking every rule of the strict ceasefire. Many men fell to his blade that day, both friend and foe, and when he came back to his senses he realised that even his father couldn’t save him from his crimes. Only sparing the time it took to bury the charred remains of his family he fled the wilds, escaping out into the world at large.

Since then he has travelled the world, selling himself out as a mercenary, bodyguard, a bouncer and one memorable stint as an actor. His new found wanderlust is matched only by his desire to return home and look upon his old homeland, but he knows that to go back would invite only death and disaster.

The Korcari wilds is a hard place, and he just wasn’t hard enough to survive it.

Character name: The Grey Warden
Class: Shadow Rogue
Skills and talents:
The Grey Warden is skilled in Poison and trap making, and is a competent Dual Weapon fighter. He's also capable of some Stealth and Shadow talents, and is in full control of his taint.
Items: The Grey Warden wears armor made entirely out of Steel. He uses a War Axe and a Dagger both made out of Steel and has a Yew Crossbow. He also carries a large supply of trap and poison making materials, as well as a few grenades and traps that are already made.
Bio: The Grey Warden is a man of mystery, that is for certain. His claims that he has long forgotten where his origins came from, as he had spent much of his life in the Deep Roads trying to figure out a way to disrupt the Darkspawn Blight. Even now his name is merely the name of the Order he has grown to respect. For many years he fought against the Darkspawn, even before the Fifth Blight had started officially. He has many tales of his battles against them, but none of them have so much as dented the efforts of the horde. Now he has left the Deep Roads and wishes to make contact with other Grey Wardens, in hopes of working with them to end this Blight once and for all.

Sorry for the double post, but I have been informed that full veridium armor and weapons of red steel are probably too high of a quality for him to start out with. I would request that they be replaced with something lower-grade like basic iron or steel. His other abilities seem fine, but they shouldn't be high than what you'd expect to see on a level 6 rogue or so.

Noted, now that I'm on a better terminal, I'll make the adjustments as necessary.

Adjustments have been made, the quality of his equipment is now Steel and he is fairly decent in terms of skill and talents.

Character name: Arianna Viadryn

Class: Blood Mage

Skills and Talents:
Arianna was an intelligent girl to begin with and her training in the Circle of Magi has only served to increase her mental fortitude. She has received extensive training in both the Schools of Elemental and Primal Magic. Recent events have also forced Arianna to adopt the forbidden art of Blood Magic.

Items:
- Personal Robes (Purchased after escaping the Circle)
- Enchanter's Fire Staff (Taken from her Tutor's Corpse)
- Ruby Dagger (A keepsake of her mother's)

Bio:
Arianna was born to an Apostate mother, an Elf who was forced to flee the Denerim Alienage, while pregnant, after local Templars began to suspect that she might be a Mage. She did not fear being sent to the Circle of Magi, but feared that he child might have to grow up there, or worse, be taken from her. The first years of Arianna's childhood were spent wandering from place to place with her mother and flying under the radar, after all, who would take notice of a couple of homeless Elves.

One day while passing through Lothering, Arianna's mother was accosted by a group of drunk humans and dragged away and Arianna never saw her mother again. After a week of failed begging, a hungry and desperate Arianna went to the local chantry, hoping for charity. The templars frightened her and the priests gave her the cold shoulder, but the final straw came when a worshiper, apparently tired of her dirty presence in his Maker's hall, dragged her out of the chantry by her hair. In a fit of fear and rage Arianna unconsciously tapped into the magic within her and set the man's sleeve ablaze. The man released her immediately but before she could take a step to flee she was set upon by the Templars.

Arianna was dragged, literally kicking and screaming, to the Circle Tower on Lake Calenhad. Her first two days in the Tower were spent locked up in a small room, where she spent her energy screaming and raging at a solid, and locked, oak door. Only once she had yelled and cried herself into exhaustion did the First Enchanter come to see her. He explained to her that the Circle would be her home and that she was safe there, but was met with silent defiance.

After a week Arianna's defiance gave way to despair and after a month her despair gave way to resignation. Despite her sullenness, she eventually came to respond to the kindness of the First Enchanter and her Tutor, whom she began to see as a replacement mother figure. As the years went by she progressed in her apprenticeship and passed her Harrowing, becoming a full Mage of the Circle.

All was well until Uldred's betrayal after returning from the Tragedy at Ostagar. One moment she was quietly studying under the watchful guidance of her Tutor and then next moment demons were streaming down the halls of the Tower, murdering Mage and Templar alike. Arianna and her Tutor barricaded themselves in the study and attempted to wait out the disaster, but no help came. They were found by a demon, who manifested in the study with them but was quickly contained within a magic barrier by Arianna's Tutor. The effort of containing the demon proved too much for the older woman and she fell, pouring all of her power into the barrier to ensure it was last long after her death.

Arianna was distraught at the death of her Tutor and to make matters worse, the demon began to whisper to her. It told her that the Templars would not save her from the horrors of the Tower, that they would come to kill her. She covered her ears and tried to block out the demon's words but they crawled into her skull. She waited like this for hours, trapped with a tormenter that told her that her only hope was to release it. That it would give her the power to fight back when the Templars came.

Finally the Templars came. Reinforced by the Templars of Denerim and baring the Right of Annulment, the Templars came, slaughtering all they met, Mage, Abomination and Demon alike. When they bashed down the door to her study and advanced on her with killing intent Arianna, in a moment of desperation, dispelled the barrier containing the demon and in return, it gave her the knowledge of Blood Magic. She unleashed her new power on the Templars, massacring them. In that moment the demon attempted to possess her, but she then turned her Blood Magic on the demon itself, seizing control of it and casting it back into Fade.

Empowered by her Blood Magic, Arianna forced her way out of the Circle Tower, killing several more Templars in the process. Once free of the Templars, she fled west through the Dales and north into Orlais where she went into hiding. In time she learned that Ferelden had failed to stop the Darkspawn Horde and that Denerim had fallen. Arianna came to hate the Darkspawn. It was their Blight that had caused Uldred and many other Mages to be called to Ostagar and, in her mind, it was there that Uldred had concocted his terrible betrayal. She began to seek out the Gray Wardens, hoping to turn her magic against the Darkspawn and get revenge for her fallen mentor.

I think I got a little carried away with my Bio...

Anyway, without the Warden-Commander to come along and defeat Uldred, Knight-Commander Greagoir would've gotten the Right of Annulment and wiped out the Circle.

Your character is pretty good too Ryu. I like to think that Allistair would have at least tried to help the mages, but I guess it makes sense that he would have taken the Annulment Invoker route and helped kill them all in exchange for help from the Templars.

It'll be interesting to see how Zeynep and Arianna get along. Zeynep would be happy to see a fellow mage but hearing about blood magic and getting help from a demon, Zeynep definitely isn't going to be so kind about that.

Yeah, I don't really see multiple characters being too much of a problem. I'll probably make one of my own, in fact. I'll probably start the rp pretty soon, since by my count we can anticipate 8 characters if I make one and you make a second one. Pernicious and Dawnstar will probably make characters at some point though I haven't heard from Star since yesterday. By then we should easily have enough people and adding more might be troublesome. Nobody else who expressed interest has posted in this thread yet, so I'm going to guess they won't mind.

Character name:
Gavlan Drogoth

Age:
42

Species:
Dwarf

Class:
Beserker Warrior

Skills and talents:
His combat skills lie in two handed weapons, specifically he deals with great axes and great hammer weapons. Who says the small guy can pack a powerful punch to his foes? Gavlan skills as a warrior come from his years of training as being an enforcer of the laws in Orzammar as well as having to occasionally be sent into the Deep Roads with his fellow comrades when told too.
Beserk- The berserker flies into a rage, landing powerful blows for as long as this mode is active.
Mighty Blow- The warrior leaps into the air, crashing down on foes with tremendous force.
Giants Reach- The warrior's two-handed attacks rip through the air with such power that each generates a shockwave past the point of impact, effectively extending the weapon's reach.

Items:
His armor on his back and his mighty axe that is named Luca

Bio:
Gavlan grew up at first as a trader of Orzammar. His trade was that in weapons and armor with an occasional dabble of the other markets when he could afford to do so. Unfortunately Gavlan ran into tough times and was forced into making deals with a group of thugs that were called the Carta. His involvement lead to a slight relationship with the gang's leader Jarvia. The relationship didn't last long however with Jarvia pressing him to do more illegal actions then he wanted to. For his disobedience, his shop was destroyed and the law enforcement of Orzammar got an anonymous tip of his dealings with Carta. For his punishment it was either going to jail, becoming casteless, or going into the Deep Roads on expeditions. His choice was the Deep Roads. This was when he began learning his fighting prowess. From other warriors, either other criminals forced into the expeditions for punishment or Orzammars guards who volunteered for these dangerous jobs. Orzammar was the last Thaig and it was determined to not fall, in order to do that, they had to thin Darkspawn from time to time. These expedition were also used to traverse to lost Thaigs and find anything that might be of use to Orzammar, be it ancient texts or miscellaneous items that could fetch a price being sold to the outside world above Orzammar.
Even after his punishment was deemed over, he continued going on the expeditions into the Deep Roads, partially because it meant finding rare items he could sneak back to Orzammar and sell for some coin and partially because he enjoyed the fighting, he learned he had a knack of using an axe and fighting Darkspawn gave him some pleasure and entertainment. Plus he made friends in his merry band of outcasts who also continued these expeditions. They shared in good laughs and mead. Unfortunately all good things come to an end. While on one expedition into the Deep Roads, they were ambushed by Darkspawn. Gavlan was the only one to make it out alive. He feared that perhaps returning to Orzammar would not be a wise decision. All the men in the expedition were considered criminals, even if Gavlan had repaid his dues to society for his supposed crimes. Rather the return he looked for a means of leaving the Deep Road. It took him days to find one of the exits of the Deep Roads, but he did and found himself far from the moutain range of Orzammar that he called home. He felt like he was going to fall off the realm of Thedas with how open the world was. He had no idea where he was only where he couldn't go. So he made his way north, passing though Orlais, Nevarra, and the Free Marches before stopping in Kirkwall. Here is when he meant his partner in crime. Zeynep the Qunari mage. At first neither saw eye to eye on anything. Always bickering back and forth on how things should be done. Eventually though they found the means to get along and even enjoy each others company. Both were social outcasts. She a qunari mage and him an dwarf with no home. They used their talents to be hired out as mercenaries or smugglers in Kirkwall and soon Gavlan was well know for being a guy that could smuggle just about anything into Kirkwall's walls.
