Space Traveling! Who doesn't love to travel the universe in a top of the line spacecraft funded by the Alliance of Peace as an incentive to making you occasionally do various jobs around the various galaxies in our universe?
As time passed, humans had always known that they weren't alone in the universe, but when they actually made contact they did the thing that no one could have expected. They offered peace and an alliance between themselves and the being who came from another planet. As time moved onward, the alliance grew just as much as the universe did, and in time the Intergalactic Alliance of Peace was founded. Humans traveled though the stars with the help of the other alliance races, since in comparison to the other races, the Humans were mere children around wise old men and women.
Now is the year 3025, and much to the surprise of everyone, not much has changed when it came to humans, the look and act the same just as they have a thousand years ago, and live is much like it is now, with the exception of more than several races inhabiting earth as well. One man has been contacted by the Alliance to form a crew and travel the stars. He expected to stay on earth and live out the rest of his days there, but would have to be mentally insane not to take an offer like that. There was only one thing that was in the way between him and the other planets, and that was a lack of a ship to travel in. With funding by the Alliance, he was able to get an Extensive Travel Unit (E.T.U.) and named it the Phoenix. He now needs a crew to help him out and searches for them on his home planet and through the stars.
Here are a list of the races that have been approved, and will be existing in this universe. If you want to make a race, just PM me about it and we'll talk!
For the past one thousand years, the Humans have been just about the same as they have been. When it comes to evolution, nothing has changed about them, but their technology has gotten better at it's own rate, with the help of other species. The Colonists humans are another story, however. Humans born in the stars are far different from one another, and each one is unique. The different planetary or space colonies are all different, from different set regulations of gravity, to different types of exposure to technology. Some of them could be drastically smarter than others, while others being stronger or just in the general sense, different.
A nomadic race of red-skinned creatures. They have a powerful, muscular body-type with a long, prehensile tail and in-human legs, like a dogs, with the heel raised and all weight on just the toes. They have an odd method of reproduction, somewhat similar to sharks. A mother will have multiple embryo's developing inside of her but as they grow the quickly gain independent thought as well as teeth and will fight inside the womb, the stronger ones eating the weaker ones. Eventually there will only be one child let inside, or none if the battles were too brutal. This makes every child born a precious and worthy member of the society, battle-hardened and proven. The children even remember the fights and how many of their siblings they killed. Far from feeling aggression towards these deaths or guilt, they consider their siblings a part of them, naming each of them and thinking of them as guardian spirits. When introducing themselves a Seheras will say their name and then continue with 'Who is also-' and then list the siblings that died for them.
Their culture is very structured, with layers upon layers of almost uninterrupted racial history. They are solitary as a species and very loyal to their people. Each person has a very clearly defined roll in the community and no one questions their place. No one is judged for their role since every individual is needed for the society as a whole to work, though of course there are exceptions to the rule. Females are relatively rare, the ratio of Men to Women being around four men to every one woman, and so they have a very protective nature towards females. It isnt truly sexism, though it is often percieved as such. If you were to ask a Female Seheras about it they would most likely be angered at the insinuation that their men-folk were discriminatory or bigotted. In this society where women are few, homosexuality is an accepted part of life. Often a pregnant mother will die before the children can be born because of the violence of the gestation period but her unborn children can still be saved. Once they are it is the duty of homosexual couples to raise them.
The Seheras are a very religious people with a Pantheistic religion of many gods for different aspects of life. Their most commonly worshipped one is Tharax, the God of the Hunt. Hunters are held high in the estimations of the Seheras, they train for years in tracking and understanding the ways of their worlds before leaving the planet. Once they do they roam far afield, ranging through many star systems and across galaxies finding work and adventure wherever they can. It is possible for a Hunter to become a ranger, on their travels they find an understanding and an accord with the empty space that enters a spiritual nature. At first just their already impressive senses become even more heightened, hearing in particular. Then it becomes more complex, their eyes can tell if a person is lying, they begin to sense presences and auras of people. Later still they gain a unique connection to their spirituality and hear the voice of Tharax in the echoes of space when outside the influence of a planet's gravity. It tells them of all it passes, so as long as they are on the trail of their target they will find it, no matter its hiding place nor the part of space it scurried too. They also gain a deeper connection with the spirits of their siblings, often getting sudden bursts of insight and inspiration, as though they have a connection to the beyond. Rangers rarely return to their planets, their purpose to learn more of the world and understand the greater purposes of the gods.
The Krilly (Krillitian is the possessive spelling) are a race of large, bipedal saurians hailing from their homeworld, Xira. Though they appear reptilian (scales, tail, claws, etc.) they are warm-blooded and do not used their tongue for smelling. Color, size, scale texture and horns vary from race to race. Though color used to be a good indication of where a Krillitian hailed from, many have migrated from their homelands over the centuries. They also poses a binary cardiovascular system (two hearts), giving them increased strength and endurance disproportionate to their size. They are born from eggs lain one at a time, usually five years apart. They reach adulthood after 36 earth years and live for about 230 earth years. Elder sibling are responsible for raising their siblings once they reach the age of 10.
Their economy is fairly ship based. Multiple low-gravity moons and a nearby asteroid belt make ship production easy. There is a political divide between some of the population. A small continent in the northern hemisphere is the only remaining area on the planet with anti-alien laws. As such most of the xenophobic population exists there, though they would venture out for the purpose protest which some of the more extremist population would try to turn into full on riots. Lately it has calmed somewhat with the implementation of stricter travel legislation from said continent which has caused some unrest. Though there hasn't been a xenophobic riot since it was introduced, leaders within that continent have started making heated statements in regards to their being oppressed. About %10 of the planets population live on the continent.
Due to large amount of ship production, Krillitian ship builders are some of the best in the galaxy. The large number of shipyards also has led to a large number of Krillitian venturing off-world. Some becoming travelers of the galaxy.
