Welcome to Elementals!

This roleplay focuses on a group or groups of people with element powers who try to stop the Vygorns.





Plot:
The Vygorns have been there from the start. Ever since they saw the potential in the human race, they've been there, controlling everyone. Their only goal is simple. Total destruction of nature. They started their plan immediately by manipulating people. The destruction of nature began. Only slowly at first, with axes, shovels and pickaxes. But later at a much more worrying rate.
Now...
Cities are just huge human dwellings where everyone is squashed together, living in the shadows of the rich who have everything and dont step out of their homes. Outside the cities, the land is a huge sea of trash. The planet is dotted with huve mining facilities and water pumps. Nothing is left, or so it seems....

In a place below the heaps of trash, there is a cave lit by huge glowing mushrooms, infinitely-burning fires, crystal clear streams... Nature's Haven. From the place Nature collected the last drops of its strength, only leaving enough to survive, and infused people with one of its base powers. That day, the Elementals were born!!

Personaliy:

Ghost has a split personality, he found a way to control it by using an eyepatch, wich can be adjusted between the eyes.
If the right eye is revealed, Ghost will become a dark and evil being with no heart and would kill anyone who stands within his path.
If the left eye is revealed, Ghost will become kind and loving towards all living beings on this world, he woudn't even harm a simple fly.

{I keep it at this, for his personality is something i want to show in the RP itself if thats alright}

History (specify if you will reveal more in the RP):

Ghost never was someone who stood out of the crowd, this was because of his powers. Somehow he always felt like no body saw him, and for a fracture of a few years this was even the fact of his life, he was just a mere ghost among the last survivors.
But once he found out how his powers worked and what he could do with them, he was amazed, once out of the shadows everyone could see him and even his parents were releaved that he was still alive after all those years.
But as Ghost his powers grew, so did his split personality. Ghost was a sweet and kind child, who never hurted anyone. But once his personality started to fight itself, allot of things changed and allot of evil was also placed within the boy, because of this evil Ghost walks with burdens he barelly talks about.

Feel for element:

Ghost never loved the darkness, aldo it is now a part of him. He is rather seen than hidden, but his powers mean that he has to hide within the darkness to attack from there, so he started to accept it and thanks to his split personality he now even has a way to control his power even more.

Enchanted items:

1: His sword Reaper, he has it since birth but never knew about it untill his first touch with the blade once he was lost in the darkness for quite a while.
2: Spiked Chains, these chains are attacked to Ghost his arms, and once used on an enemy they can rip their skin appart like smashing a ant with your finger.
Aldo they are hidden within his sleeves, he can command them with just a blink of his eye for with his power he controlls these chains.
3: Phantom Bow, this bow is grasped from within the darkness, aldo it takes quite some time to pull it out of the darkness.

Pet: Voidling,

Ghost called his mate Era, for he was his first true friend once Ghost walked this world.

Perhaps it is smart to do it torugh visions, for their powers are given by nature itself.
So what if they do gain visions about the place, meet there and start a team together?
Choose a leader, etc etc etc....

It's just a tought i had...

That is should be a part of the RP, wether there is a leader or not is up to your characters not me. But yes, it seems visions is the smartest idea. You'll se in more detail when I post the first IC entry :)

So yeah the weapons i took them from the picture for he has them in it.
The rest is totally made up from my own fantasy ^^

i know im not officially part of this rp but maybe i could help with a couple of these things?

How should the Elementals meet, or generally find out about the Vygorns? Explanation in Nature's Haven? Maybe an Old man lives there, a protector, master of all elements who can teach the new Elementals?


maybe there could be some sort of deity whose powers are getting sapped by the vygorns? she could be the one who gives us the vision to go to natures haven. she could give us a run down/explanation of everything. i think it would be fun if we didnt have full control of our powers at first. it could give our characters growth and see how they react throughout the rp.

How did/do the Elementals acquire their pets and items? Do they get when they first go to Nature's Haven? How do they get there and how do they know where to go? Visions?


in final fantasy xiii, the party doesnt get their eidolon until they undergo some sort of emotional hardship or are in grave danger. maybe we could sort of like unlock them as the rp progresses? it would motivate the cast to work on character development and really flesh out our emotions.

Since the Vygorns control most-if-not-all of the politics and military in the world, perhaps the head Vygorn is posing as a government official or influential businessman of sorts? If that's the case, then he'd probably have a human identity he's masquerading as, an actual alien name, and some sort of moniker for the main elemental group to call him by. As for actual titles...

I like the idea of visions, actually. Maybe Nature could, as part of giving the Elementals their powers, give them a vision telling them to go to Nature's Haven, and then, once they're there, ultimately explain the rest of the plot to them.

Pets could be a part of the abilities granted by nature. Upon receiving their powers (or when visiting Nature's Haven), the Elementals could gain the ability to summon them, kind of like a familiar.

Depends how much everyone wants to have a pet. To be honest, I like the idea of them being familiars working with Nature to guide the Elementals on their way, but how useful they actually wind up being won't be apparent until the RP starts, unfortunately.

More Vygorn powers!

Here's what I could think of:

  • Pollution Control - Vygorns are capable of bending the pollution and grime around them as though it were an element. This can come in a variety of forms, from dousing a battlefield with acid rain to flooding the streets with a wave of oozing sludge. Naturally, they cannot make the pollution they want to control (that's the humans job, after all), but can amass and stockpile these destructive materials for later use.

  • Garbage Animation - Vygorns are capable of causing trash and other masses of unusuable or contaminated objects to merge into various creatures and beasts, which can be used for a variety of sinister purposes. However, they cannot control any trash that just happens to be lying around; to use this ability, Vygorns must process the objects they wish to use in advance with specific energies and chemicals. This ability technically applies to non-trash objects (such as usable appliances and furniture), but like trash objects, these things need to be prepared in advance.

  • Instability - For admins and the Big Bad - High-ranking Vygorns are capable of causing the objects around them to become molecular-ly unstable, resulting in random chemical reactions and destructive explosions. Since the actual effect of this instability is largely random, it has the potential to backfire against Vygorn forces, and as such, is only used in controlled environments or desperate situations.

So, easy straight-forward things first.
I need more characters
I like the ones we have now but not everyone has posted their characters from the Interest check yet.
The more varied the better! Personality wise as well as element-wise.
Your character can be an asshole if you like

Pets will be in it given that people seem to have no trouble creating them. They will be summonable and recallable by their owners and can't actually die, just need time to regenerate before being summoned again.

At the start, the characters won't have their items. (How the hell would they get a sword or gauntlets in modern, slightly futuristic settings? A museum is a good solution but not everyone happens to find one on the way I think :P)

How the RP will actually start will be revealed in the first IC post, it will be a surprise so you guys won't know everything before we start.

When the RP starts, you are in total control of your character! You can start digging a hole in the desert if you like or go to parties and not give a damn about Vygorns and the end of the world. However it is advised to do things related to the plot. Please.
I repeat and I can't stress this enough You are in control!
Keep it reasonable though. You won't be creating an explosion the size and power of an Atom-Bomb just after having gained your powers.
So guys, no super mega beams of darkness that annihilates everyone. No mega killer golem who can take missiles to the head and laugh at them as they explode and do nothing. Action packed fighting is whats needed. Most Vygorns aren't that strong, (most) but they are great in numbers, I guarantee you. And if you cause trouble and get attention the humans will be on the hunt for you as well, with guns and helicopters. It will get more intense as you get stronger.

The "bad guys" (Vygorns) and non-Elemental characters (people as an example) will likely be controlled by Hesoca as well as by me.
We will be able to ambush, capture, spy on you. I am still not sure about deaths because I just can't morally handle killing someone and tell them to fuck off of the thread because he's dead. I mean.... meh, I can't. But if its something extreme I'll make you die. So don't go headbutting missiles or trying to fight against a whole city ok? Seriously, you're not Darth Vader nor a damn ultimate Archmage of Doge.

Sorry for the unsophisticated language but I believe it is easier to get the message through.

Of course she can in this case but it just wasnt enchanted. It gets enchanted during the RP. Id like to know first though so I dont have to spend fifty posts asking everyone what their items are so i ask at the beginning.

Name: Sullivan Adair

Age: 21

Element: Darkness

Appearance: Before going to a forest to live, he had a handsome, chiseled face and beautiful, wavy auburn hair. Now, he has long, matted hair and a scraggly beard. He'd picked up an infection that inflamed the skin around his face, neck, and shoulders monstrously. The only thing about his face that hasn't changed is his glassy black eyes. He is short and skinny, but without meaning to, he can appear much larger than he really is.

Personality: In a community, Sullivan is very vague and reserved, only speaking when he has to. He likes to hide in the shadows, where he can watch the action without getting involved. When one has known him long enough, they figure out that he's remarkably charismatic and would be able to move a crowd.

History: Sullivan used to be in somewhat of a position of power. With his reputation at first protected by his wealth and the bias of the media, he was secretly part of a destructive chain of events. When he was found out, he was practically exiled from society and ended up having to live in a forest. It was hard at first, but now, a year later, he fares reasonably well. He wants to atone for his past sins, but stripped of his powerful position, he doesn't know how.

Feel for element: Having a keen eye, Sullivan is a natural master of illusions. He uses his element to hide by either turning invisible or, more commonly, manipulating the shadows so that they hide him. He's very grateful for these powers because in order for him to live in peace, he can't be seen by anyone. Still, having recently discovered these powers, he doesn't know how they could be useful.

Enchanted items:
- Secret: a cowl that completely hides his face by casting it in shadow.
- Vice: a dagger that makes no sound when unsheathed and is visible only to Sullivan.

Pet: a Great Horned Owl named Luna

Snowy, it says in the plot. Theres no forest. Its all destroyed.
Outside the cities theres just trash oceans and deserts. Along with polluted streams.

Appearance: Gilfred stands at around 6’2’’, and of a normal build. His medium length, dark brown hair hair is usually combed to keep it out of his face, though that seems to not have worked on a few rouge strands that fall back in front of his face. His eyes are a deep emerald, framed with a look of alertness, but with a twinge of tiredness. His face and nose are a bit angular, but not overly so, this results in his face appearing harder than it otherwise would.

his clothing style (without the gas mask)

Personality: A smile can almost always be found on Gilfred, even if the world is coming down around his ears. He also tends to keep his head very well, making decisions more off of chess like moves than impulse, but made with the fervor and conviction of a crusader. He will also see a task out to the end, not matter the cost to himself, and takes oaths and promises very seriously.

History (specify if you will reveal more in the RP): Gilfred's family was not much to look at, they weren't poor, but nor were they rich, so in essence they were what passes for middle class these days. It was here that Gilfred grew up, and though his family was not special, Gilfred was not content in the background and as such he often found himself on the opposing side of the law, though his intentions were always to help someone. When his family discovered his... abilities they sent him away as much to protect themselves as him. He was to be sent to a relative's in another city, but decided against it at the last moment, a feeling of wanderlust stopping him from continuing.

Feel for element: He wields it as one would wield a sword properly, as an extension of one’s self instead of a foreign tool.

Enchanted items (Elemental artifacts which share the character's elements):
Gauntlets Of Vulcan:

    Each of these Gauntlets are a deep brass color and look to be made of highly stylized plate mail. On the center of the forearm guard of each is a silver shard which seems to be the center of the stylization.
  • Shatter: Worn of the right hand Shatter is the most offence oriented of the two, as it is able to be fragmented into razor sharp shards and reconstituted with little power drain .

  • Unity: Worn of the left hand, Unity is the opposite of Shatter, as it is able to fuse metal together at a molecular level, in essence it is able to cold forge pieces of metal. Some items, such as the Aegis, gain interesting properties when unity affects them.


Clarent:
"The Sword of Peace" and "The King's Betrayer", Clarent is a strong, old blade that shows no signs of age or weakness anywhere. The blade of the broadsword itself has a sheen like freshly polished steel, and is set in a hilt and cross guard made of a darker metal and strong wood.

Immunity: the Aegis of the Behemoth: Gilfred's immunity takes the form of heavy plate armor that forms wherever he is attacked (eg. if a bullet would hit his chest it is deflected off the breastplate that formed, a knife aimed at his legs would bounce off the grieves, and so on). Under certain situations the entire suit can materialize. Unity can be used to fuse the Aegis into a solid suit, with a bit of concentration and power drain, though it still remains flexible, as if the chain link joints were still separate peaces

Name: Taya Rivers
Age: 19
Element: Water
Appearance: Taya has a soft face, with trusting eyes. Her brown hair lies in lazy curls just over her shoulders. She is slightly over average height, but has a small frame, creating an illusion of innocent cuteness. If you were to look very closely, you might notice that she is not as soft as she appears, with trained arms and legs, and a sometimes appearing uncompromising look in her eyes.
Personality: Sweet and trusting, Taya will be quick to declare you a friend. She easily falls for jokes and believes everyone has good intentions. Despite all this she is not stupid, and insatiably curious. While she will easily go along with others in normal situations, she is absolutely immovable if she finds it important. Friends mean everything to her, and she will not allow any harm to be done against them if she can help it.
History: Taya was abandoned by her parents when she was a baby. She was raised lovingly in the orphanage of a city. Although she knew that the people of the orphanage were good people, when she found out about her powers, she hid them from everyone. When she turned 16, she was considered too old for the orphanage. From that moment on she has been roaming the world with Scylla.
Feel for element: She has been playing with her powers since she found out she had them at the age of 5, but isn't very adept at the more aggressive use of her powers, and can only easily control water close to her body. She can control it if it is farther away, but this takes a tremendous amount of power. She bypasses this problem by forming weapons in her hands out of ice and throwing them.
Pet:
Answer to question: Since for as far as I've seen until now, Taya is the only water elemental, I didnt feel the need to specialize. I based her off of 2 characters of mine, and one of them has the powers I described here (strangely enough, the name comes from the other one). If you believe specialization is necessary, or if a new water elemental will show up, I'll be happy to discus specialization, although I do believe she already is specialized, just not in the ice/water category.

Personality:
Aerilyn is a rather withdrawn individual that feels like she should not give her input unless it is asked for, making her appear as if she is introverted. She rarely expresses her emotions, wearing a calm mask of indifference in hopes of pushing people away from her. She rarely gives in to anger, but when she does, she is a rather dangerous individual to be around. Despite her indifference and short temper, she is an extremely kind and giving individual.

History:
Was raised in a family that served a very rich family. Her family was very strict about how they should act around other people as well as how she should feel towards them. She was taught to admire the rich, especially the family that they served, but she grew to hope for their demise. Despite this hatred, she was the protector of the youngest child, who had been no older than five, and when they were killed in a shooting while they were attending a party, she was deemed a criminal and a bandit in hopes of securing her death sentence. She somehow managed to escape and is now wandering in hopes of finding her destiny, which has lead her to the underground cavern.

Feel for element:
Aerilyn holds great disdain for her abilities, wishing that she had not been chosen to bear them, but is more than willing to do so in hopes of having something to set her free from her past.

Enchanted items:

- "Demise" -- A dagger that never misses its intended target if the bearer properly focuses their energy into the blade.

Pet: Skyff - Red Tail Hawk
