I'm curious, how do you get your weapons, and related attachments (optics, grenade launchers, etc) in the military? I'd assume they're given to you according to your role, but do you have some freedom to pick and chose certain rifles within that role? For instance, if you're a Rifleman, can you pick between an M4 and an M16, and can you pick what sort of optics to put on it, or is it all pretty much done according to what role you fill?

It's not unethical, but some people greatly disapprove, feeling its plugging yourself into an RP. Some circles disapprove of such more than others, and it would need to fit such an RP.
