With silent determination, Ivan pulled on his gloves, flexing his fingers. It was to be his first day of his new pokemon adventure. His little Pawniard, lovingly called Shogun, stood in front of the mirror next to Ivan, and looked like it was posing and showing off muscles. Not that it had any physical manifestation of muscles to show. Running a hand through his hair, he knelt down next to the dark steel pokemon.
"You ready?"
The Pawniard turned to him and jumped up and down, making 'pnpnpnpnpnpn' noises. Ivan felt a giant smile break out on his face.
"Of course you are."
Holding out a hand, Ivan braced himself for the impact of his little friend jumping onto it and clambering up, coming t a rest on his head. Shogun liked it up there. Ivan had a feeling it was because he could see for a lot further than he normally could.
After a good-bye to his parents that took him alot longer than he may have liked, Ivan finally stood in the center of Aquacorde City. His home for the past 18 years, he felt nothing but love for it. And one day he would return, a better man and a powerful trainer.
"Pwnpwn"
Ivan could feel the little pokemon gesticulating wildly to the gate that led to Santalune forest. His first destination. With a grin on his face and an eagerness in his step, he made off for the gate.
Ivan was about to pass over the bridge when he heard a voice calling to him.
"Ivan, wait!"
Turned, he saw his mum running up to him, a backpack in hand.
"You...nearly forgot this."
She handed Ivan the bag. Giving his mother one last hug, he tahnked her and left for the forest, leaving her waving after him.
Once he was on route two, Ivan sat down under a tree and pulled the backpack close.
"Let's see what I've got."
