Original Interest Check here.

Now to clarify for those just seeing this RP now. I am not the GM, the GM's kind of bailed on us in the Interest check.
But the player's still wanted to see this RP happen so I volunteered to get the OOC going and to help with getting the wheels turning.

With that out of the way, there are few matter's that we as a group need to decide before we get going.
And I'd suggest we do it in this following order.

1. Pick a GM
Most RP's and Players require a GM, so this should be our first order of business. Especially since the GM will be largely responsible for aiding in the future steps. So we should have discussion and/or vote on who the next GM should be. Or is this one of those rare cases where people would rather go without one and make it purely a group run RP?

2. General Plot/Setting
The former GM did establish this would be a new world not in the games, and that both Beorc and Laguz would exist in it. But outside of that never was given much attention, however this will probably be mainly the responsibility of the GM to create.

3. Characters
Once we know whose running the RP, and what setting and plot we're going into is probably when we can make our characters.
I'll provide a basic CS below, along with a resource to most of the fire emblem classes. But don't fill this CS in expecting it to be the final copy, odd's are the GM that takes over would want to make alterations to the layout.

As an applicant for the GM position(or co-GM as the case may be).

I've had experience GMing twice before(On another site), with really only one running it's full course and the other petering out about thirty pages in. The one that I started here didn't last as long, nor had much interest. I've also played every FE game from Six in at least some capacity, with the only two that I've beaten being Sacred Stones and Awakening. However, I'm not the best at long posts if there isn't much to react too, and I don't catch everything that I should in the OOC.

If anything else, I'm quite confident in my ability to write villainous and hated characters. As such, if not the GM position proper, I'd like to be able to bring this to the table and provide a challenging and intriguing antagonistic force to the RP.

I could potentially do the whole GM thing, but I would definitely prefer a co-GM. I've played almost all of the english FE games except 9/10, so while I have a fairly decent grasp of how the setting usually works, I know next to nothing about the laguz.

I'd be willing to be a co-GM, but I'd rather not go for being the sole GM. I've played pretty much every game in the series except for 1, 2, and 3, so I know the setting pretty well. I also have a few general ideas for the setting and plot. And like Tentacle, I'd prefer to play antagonists, so if nothing else, I can still help play the villainous force if I don't become a co-GM.

I have an RP I'm currently running now, if I help with this it will be with a co-GM as well. I have run several RP's in the past (even though none of them finished) and have extensive experience with all american releases of FE except 9/10 as well. The Laguz from what I understand are pretty much like the Taguel/Manekete classes but with different animals if I'm not mistaken, right?

EDIT: http://fireemblem.wikia.com/wiki/Laguz This is a useful article for those that don't know how they work, I just took a brief look through it and got the basic jist of what the Laguz are.

Not sure about those classes.
But mainly they're shape shifters, but only shift into one specific animal.

When in human form they're generally unable to fight, even having mass difficulty in wielding human weapons (mechanic wise, but RP wise we could argue some Laguz were raised among Beorc and therefore can wield weapons and fight with them also). They're only able to stay in animal form for a limited amount of time, but when they are transformed they are a terror on the battlefield and outright posses the strength of several beorc.

You can keep the shapeshift up pernamently though by one of two methods.

1. Laguz Band, holding/being in possession of such an item lets you remain shape shifted for as long as you wish. But your animal form is as a result not as strong as it otherwise would be.

2. Be of a Noble blood. For some reason Noble Laguz basically have a Laguz Band on them at all times through their genes. And unlike those who use the band, Nobles do not suffer by being in a weaker version of the transformation.

Laguz can fight with their hands.

I was thinking of creating a Fire Emblem RP too, once I found a Co-GM, but if you guys are interested I'd like to throw my name out there too. I have tried creating long lasting RPs on this site but they never last. They take off and have interest in the beginning, but somehow they always seem to die never really getting off the ground. I have a lot, and I mean a lot, of experience with Fire Emblem and all of the games, even the Japanese ones. I have a broad knowledge-base behind lore, characters, etc.

I know you guys wanted to create an OOC topic but I do feel as if this still might be better to be moved into an interest check still. I mean, no plot is set so nothing can't really be done, and plus no GMs are known yet. I have been keeping up with the other topic so I do understand that there is a big want of a FE RP, but the GMs disappeared.

Anyways, again, this is just me throwing in my name into the hat of Co-GM name's.

With so many interested in being GM/co-GM maybe we should try to come up with something as a group plot-wise.

Magic Magnum, Taguel were shape-shifters in Awakening. They were vastly different in that they only fight in their shifted form and the appearence was that of a large feral rabbit. They attack and transform using power they derive from a special stone they equip. They cannot defend themselves at all in human form. Like the Laguz they retain some of the physical characteristics of the beast they transform into while in human form. Maneketes are pretty much exactly the same, except they turn into small dragons. Manaketes also appeared in many games, and have been known to either possess small wings or red eyes. The Manaketes in Awakening are a bit of an exception, varying in appearence but showing no dragon-like traits.

So it seems Laguz did basically exist in other games, except in those it was more item based while with Laguz it's part of their very race.

Anyways, currently we have one person wanting to be GM and several others wanting to be Co-GMs.
I'd say give people another day to post interest in being GM, if others do then we vote. If not then I'm assuming the title of GM goes to TentacleLord.

And when he does it we can let him choose if he want's a Co-GM or not, if the Co-GM should also be voted for or chosen by the GM however (may the GM even want one) though, should probably still be addressed. Me personally, I'm fine either way in that regard.

Ok, given the time that's passed it seems TentacleLord is our new GM.

Was there anyone who applied as a Co-GM that you would like to take up on the offer?

So I was thinking we could go with the standard plot for Fire Emblem. We start out as a minor ragtag bunch of mercenaries, potentially working as guards for a town due to an increase in bandit/refugee activity. Turns out the upswing of bandits and refugees is due to a neighboring nation with world domination plans. Naturally they have something more sinister in mind, maybe the prince has taken over what was a relatively benign and kind (although powerful) nation from his father, and has proceeded to attempt world domination. The small town (preferably port town) is caught in its wake and we are sucked into a war.

My character would fit perfectly into the above scenario, being a dishonored knight from said nation.

I personally like that sort of scenario, as I have a good idea of the antagonistic force's motives. Other than that, one of the ideas for the original GM was the inclusion of the Laguz, rather than Manaketes and Taguel, correct? If that's the case, that opens up the possibility for fanatical racism to be a driving motive on either side.

There was evident racism in the games where Laguz were present.

Where Beorc constantly feared them as violent, ruthless and primitive beasts. And often would try beating and killing them at any chance possible.
This lead to Laguz to largely resenting Beorc as being a simple-minded, greedy and hateful species. Not as eager to kill Beorc mind you as Beorc were to kill Laguz, but still plenty hostile and would usually want to avoid contact with them when possible.

The only real exception to this was nobility, Laguz and Beorc nobility normally got along. To the point some saw each other as family even, but had to keep this strictly among their noble households because they both believed their people were not yet ready to accept one another.

Weeeellll..... I've been thinking and mahaps I shall try out for co-gm if our newly appointed gm is in need of one.

Also, on a side thought, I was thinking that to help balance out characters and combats we could set up stats befitting our classes. The exception would be that skill would be represent weapon rank instead 0:

Do you guys think that would work out? .e.

I suppose that's not bad, perhaps there are really only two powerful nations, the laguz nation, and the now-evil nation, and between the two is the nation that we are currently in, so we're not so much a target as caught in the crossfire. Gives us a chance to interact with political intrigue or something as the nation attempts to choose sides and potentially has in-fighting.

I'm tempted to make the obligatory noble-esque character with this idea in mind. Basically the guy who wants to live the "good life" behind to go out and help people.

Also: the link to the wiki in the OP seems to be broken. It just leads me to the IC subpage.

That would need an entire system designed to work with stats and forum roleplay.
Ultimately it's up the GM, but I wouldn't suggest it unless if we find a pre-exisiting system or we make one that's very simple and easy to follow.

That makes it a bit stereotypical.

Even the games with Laguz had four Laguz nations and three Beorc nations.

One of the Beorc nations Crimea was for all intents and purposes good.
One was Daein, generally seen as a good nation but under the rule of a tyrannical leader.
Then Bengion, a giant empire who has both good and evil fighting for control over parts of the nation.

Laguz had two nations who were generally friendly (as far as citizen relations go).
One who was generally known to be cruel and very pirate like.
And another who mainly just stayed out of 'mortal affairs' (These ones were dragon Laguz) and keep to themselves completely.

To the point they'd send in wandering outsiders back out (even if it killed them) simply to avoid outside affairs.

Odd :/

Edit: Fixed it.

I'm up for a co-GM, but I figured that says could be something that's more of a guideline for how your selected class would fight. For example, despite both using swords, a hero and a swordmaster would fight totally differently.

In other words, looking up average stats for your desired class would tell you what kind and how you'd wield a desired weapon.
