Near Future Mercenary RP

So I got this idea of a near future mercenary RP after looking at some old videos of Act of War High Treason, a strategy game.

The ideas I had as mercenaries included:

Fighting against drug cartels terrorists, rouge states, and even in WW3.

What do you guys think? I am hoping for someone to pick up this idea and turn it into an RP because I am not good at GMing and making stories out of this. I am looking for someone to pick this up.

I could go for this, depending on how fleshed out and story-related it is. If it's just all action all the time, then it'd get boring quick.
Also, how 'near future' were you thinking?

I'm no expert on military stuff but I know a middling amount about guns/military stuff, and this seems like an interesting concept. Dibs on the medic or some other support role (although, I was in a military RP once where somebody played as the team's attack dog, I think he had more fun than the rest of us combined)
