Hehe, that post made me laugh, El XD Ze randomness of Bear is funny. However, I have to ask why he knows Italian "perfectly". You never mentioned it in the sheet and while I do like those hidden facts that get revealed in-game, you didn't give an explanation in the post either. Please, elaborate =<

And oh, snap, Gabe was smart. Taking over another person's apartment just like that. Genius XD Great post! I'm happy that everyone got together and started the avalanche XD The only duo left is Julia-Que, as well as a post from Nadi. I'm seriously happy that we got moving so quickly after the break ^^

Also, it's morning here, so it's time for a morning warm up =3 Sharing!

Oh! Easily explained! Bear knows a bunch of languages. He loves videos and movies from the real world and he watches them nearly all the time when not doing his "job" as a key lol Bear has learned most of his other languages from watching foreign films and slowly picking up on the language through media outlets. He knows English, Japanese, French, Italian and Spanish. He especially loves the absurdity of Spanish Soap Operas lol

Ah, but when keys are in the key shop, they can't see things in the human world. That's why my character was somewhat shocked when she saw the human world for the first time.

Gabe you sneaky bastard choosing that apartment door.

Love the new posts, folks.

I'll have time these two evenings since I cleared off a few tasks that had to be taken care of, and a Julia post is to be expected after Que's post.

Okay, I'm going to rant a little. I may up sounding like an elitist or a jerk, but I'm getting kind of ticked off here. El, I'm not typically a Nazi for post size, but your post last night was practically casual level. Not even high-casual from my experience. You could have done a lot more in the time you had, yet you didn't. Sure, you may have been tired, but did you consider letting it rest for a while? Half a day isn't that long and if you just had a small rest, your post could have potentially been much longer and with much better content. Everyone's been tired before and posts don't exactly help in this area, but most players here have been able to stably churn out long, earnest and thoughtful posts when they have the time to do it, ie, no exams, no trips, et cetera.

And if I excuse the size of the post and its lateness (going so far as holding another, eager player back for a few days), I have a feeling that you haven't put much attention other to characters and the character you play here is only barely consistent with the character you wrote for the CS. Sure, it's perfectly excusable to play a character who deviates from what was written originally, but the amount of difference there is here is becoming simply astounding. You never mentioned your character knowing so many languages in the sheet and the personality seems almost like a completely different character.

To boot, I don't feel like you're being very serious about this. I'm all for having fun, but I get the impression that you think this RP is almost like a joke and you refuse to communicate on the OOC for most things, or even join the Skype group as the GM probably requested. It definitely doesn't help that the OOC looks dead, but that's because we're all there. You're the exception to this rule. Even if you only drop in to ask a question about the RP, it's fine and aside from RPing, we have a pretty great little community going on there. Personally, some of the people I've met there have become pretty good friends of mine, despite the fact that I've never met them in person and that's the magic of RPing and one of the fundamental rules of it; it's easier, funner and more enjoyable to roleplay with someone you can call a friend and all RP's require communication. Even if you've never used Skype, just download the darn thing just for the group, so we're all on the same page.

In short, you just don't seem very serious and in my experience, people like that are the first to drop out. Which, in this RP, would leave one human without a key and few ways to explain it. In particular, this would oblige us to kill off Oblivion's character, which I'm more than sure would infuriate her. Having a character you spent time and effort writing just to be ruined or disappear at the whim of someone else is simply the worst feeling you can get when RPing, with perhaps the exception of watching an RP you love die because of one or more bad apples.

And please, I'm going to sound like a major jackass with this, but if you respond with a post with 'lol' in it one more time, I'm going to end up killing someone.

From me and potentially many of the players here, thank you for considering and hopefully riposting in a positive manner to these words.

Thank you for coming to in the public form as it allows me to clear the air with anyone who may also have these concerns. :) I shall address these concerns in points.

-Firstly, about post size. I have always been a stout believer in quality over quantity and I have never been one to add fluff just to bump my post sizes. Furthermore, when I stated my post was crap because my brain was fried. I didn't mean I was tired, I meant my brain was fried. As in I had writers block, my creative juices were nearing empty. Do you follow?

-I am sorry, but how exactly is my character so widely different than how I described him? I wrote him as a described him. A nonsensical guy that does random things at random times for random reasons. How in the TWO posts have I deviated from that path? Last I checked ALL the stuff he was doing would be best described as random. And about the languages, though I had not specifically stated that he enjoys real world media by an unnatural amount but it was implied by how he loves Bears and how he acts like a Native American. Things from Animal Planet and Old Westerns. I always intended for him to be a giant movie buff and you watch enough foreign fills you will pick up the language.

-I am naturally a sarcastic and to some people comical person. I constantly joke around and like to have a good time. So if that is being interpreted as "I don't take this seriously" then I apologize but that isn't the case. Simply my personality. And about talking in the OOC. Sorry I am not talking much in the OOC but firstly I have a bunch of other RP's to attend to PLUS real life. Secondly, I don't see much activity in the OOC so I didn't feel the need to show up as much either. And I don't plan on downloading Skype as I will never use it. Simply because I have to many things going on to be stuck sitting in a Messenger. I would be far to distracted with other things to be able to properly pay attention to what is being said.

-I am sorry, but I do take this RP very seriously. If I didn't I wouldn't have stuck around for as long as I have.

-I am sorry my use of "lol" bothers you but I will not change how I talk. I use lol as a way of showing sarcasm and comical under tones.

Shin, I am glad that you voiced out your opinion, rather than keeping it in ^ ^ This is a free community and I expect everyone to express their feelings when they spot something wrong. I, as the GM with a final say in any matter regarding this role-play, will attempt to be an honorable judge.

In the case that has been brought up, I can not help but agree with the both of you on different parts.

While I do not expect everyone to always post five or more pages worth of text every single time, it should be clear that the quality of the text should be of high value or at least relevant. I understand that Bear is quite a random character and silliness if part of his act and I also agree that quality beats quantity every single time, yet there is a certain point where quality requires quantity for the sake of the text's worth.
Writer's block is writer's block and we have all had it. Indeed, it is a strong and devastating enemy. But, as a role-player once told me, the only way to defeat writer's block is through writing. That can be interpreted in several ways. One of them is to write for the sake of writing and I am definitely against that 9/10 times, but sometimes it is required. I tend to avoid it as much as possible and have not reached such a point in this role-play, but I am aware that sometimes one should simply add additional information, despite that the said information can be skipped.
Not to mention that an advanced player has to have some pride in themselves, but some of the members of the human race do not wish to have pride in their work, thus I would rather not delve into that topic.
In other words, I will agree that your condition hinders your writing, El, and that you are right when you say that quality is more important, yet you should have written more for your post with the spare time you had. I do take under consideration that you had real life and other role-plays to attend to, but something as small as your post makes it seem like you posted for the sake of posting, which is different from "writing for the sake of writing", because the entire post is just thrown at the wind, which is an indirect insult. (it was still funny, though)

As for the languages, I will have to note that languages are not relevant to Keys. They can speak any language in the world, since they have to be prepared for any kind of owner that might pick them. They do not learn it anywhere, but simply comprehend any form of human speech. Even baby talk. This can be explained by the absence of language barriers in Cell City, where everyone can comprehend what the other is saying, even if they hear speech in a different language. I will have to admit that I had thought of this before, but it didn't come to mind when you said that Bear knows Italian perfectly, hence my confusion and question. Excuse me for that.

However, I will have to go against the idea you propose, El. Bear can not simply watch videos and movies all the time as he wishes. Of course, he can wander around in Cell City, but there are aren't any TV sets there, except those who are actually moving and, well, alive. Only high-level players can afford an actual entertainment device such as a screen that broadcasts channels, but those channels have information related to Cell City only. They don't display anything about other worlds. Also, the movie industry has not really picked up in that world, albeit the music one has. This being said, there are only a few movie theaters out there and they are mostly in Akasan and one or two in Underground. I do understand that this information is new, but you should have asked about it in the first place.
This all being said, the only time Bear would be capable of watching movies is in the human world, where he would have to enter the Internet or watch a movie with his owner on television or at the cinema. While that does count as the time when he is "not doing his job", you should have been more descriptive in your post on this specific moment. Fortunately, it does not truly matter, because, as I stated above, Keys do not need to learn languages, because they can speak each and every one of them.

When it comes to OOC and Skype speech, I am not forcing anyone to download Skype, if they don't want to. If someone told me to make a new Facebook account just so I could be part of the gang, I wouldn't, because I don't want to make a new one after I deleted my old one. But I must say that not wanting to download Skype isn't an excuse to not post in the OOC. Yes, we don't post here that often, because we're engaging in conversations elsewhere, but if you don't prompt us to come around by posting, how would we talk to you? At the very least, you should post when you have some business or writer's block, El. It's not right for Shin to force you to download it, but it's also not right to stay silent for far too long.

Regarding the "taking it seriously" moment, no one can truly tell if someone is taking something seriously, because you are yourself and you can't read another person's mind, not through a screen at least. However, El, I can understand where Shin is coming from, because the shortness of your post definitely irritated him. That is why we can not say that he is baselessly accusing you for not being serious, because there is a definite motive behind it.
About the "lol" part, it did not irritate me as much as it did other people and I dislike limiting people when it comes to personal things, but sometimes habits should be oppressed ^ ^" Here, I admit that I use emoticons. The cat =3 is more or less my trademark now XD (see, again). The "lol" is no doubt one of your specific ways to display emotion and not sound overly serious when writing. However, you haven't seen me use emoticons twice in one sentence or, if you have, it isn't often, right? I'm not going to say "Don't use lol", because, lets face it, everyone nowadays uses "lol", but do pay in mind where you place it. If it already exists in one sentence, don't write it again or in the first following one. It will annoy some people.

Hopefully I haven't come off too harsh here. I'm trying to be as objective as possible. Lets not fight and try to settle our differences. =3

Yah.

Reminder that, as mentioned a while ago, I'll be away from the 6th until 12th of June, to a place far, far away that...actually has an internet connection, which doesn't help, however, because I probably can't manage to bring my notebook, or find time to write, for that matter.

I should be able to throw in a post tomorrow and take care of Julia and Ruée's C2 entrance and to make way for the system post. If Shin doesn't post before then, however, I'm afraid we will have to perhaps work out flashbacks or other methods to fill that back in.

Sorry to keep you waiting everyone! And I wish you and this roleplay all well during the time I'm away.

Alright, glad to see you're ready, El =3

Awhile ago Ero asked me to explain the numerical values of the stats. Today, I wish to display to you all the system I have come up with. Hopefully, it's not too hard to explain.

Basically speaking, there would be four "stages" or "marks" for the stats.
1. Very Bad
2. Good-Bad
3. Good
4. Excellent

These four stages do not contain the same numbers as players and keys alike progress in the game. Allow me to demonstrate.

Beginner Levels 1-3

Very Bad: 1; 2; 3
Good-Bad: 4; 5; 6*
Good: 6; 7; 8*
Excellent: 8; 9; 10

The numbers marked with a * are called "mid points". When the stat is at a mid point, the chances of the skill dropping or increasing in value on its own are high. This change in quantity can occur temporarily or periodically.
For instance, in a battle Gabe needs enough strength to crush a monster, yet his physical ability falters when trying to use it, due to his Strength being at the mid point of 8. Still, it's a higher mid point, so he will be able to deal some damage, but whether that will be enough depends on the situation. I, who plays the System, will post short System messages IC when such clarification is needed. I will most likely do it when I post with either one of my characters and I don't mean only Rasui and Sophie. Now that we're in Cell City, it is expected of me to post a lot, seeing as I control many NPCs, so don't worry. It won't be blocks of text, but it won't be something extremely short either ^ ^ (I hope)

When it comes to how the numbers change with the passing of levels, every 3 levels they change ( 1-3; 3-6; 6-9; etc.)
As to how they change, simply take away the first two numbers of Good-Bad and place them in Very Bad. From then on fill in the other sections so there may be equal numbers in each one. The last numbers of Good and Good-Bad are always mid points, so they remain.

Beginner Levels 3-6

Very Bad: 1; 2; 3; 4; 5
Good-Bad: 6; 7; 8; 9; 10*
Good: 10; 11; 12; 13; 14*
Excellent: 14; 15; 16; 17; 18
