He intertwined his fingers with hers and he looked into his eyes as he told her he trusted her, and just wanted it to be easier on her. She smiled, glad that he hadn't started to become paranoid on her, glad that he trusted her so much, even as she could easily kill him at that moment.

She still, when it came time to it, she saw that he was nervous. Of course he was, they weren't sure that it would cure her. For all they knew, it could actually be poison for her. She hoped to God it wasn't poisonous. So, prayers sent upwards. She smiled at him again, also a bit nervous. "Yes, please."

The joke didn't help with her nerves, but she had tried at least.

She stepped closer to him, closing the distance, and kissed him on the lips softly before moving over to his neck. Her lips grazed his warm flesh, his heartbeat right beneath her fangs yet again. She didn't let o of his hands, keeping their fingers intertwined, but her other arm did come up and over his shoulder as if she was feeding normally. For a moment, she hesitated as she thought about the last time she was at his neck and ready to bite. She thought about how much he trusted her and loved her to let her do this with complete trust. She almost didn't want to bite him...to expose the most inhuman quality about herself by biting him. For a moment more, she just listened to his heartbeat, and felt it through her lips.

Finally, she figured she couldn't delay it anymore. She couldn't back out of the experiment without feeling regrets.

"I love you." she whispered quietly, focussing on his heartbeat, warmth and breathing to help drive her instinctive side past her mental barrier and bit down into his neck.

She felt the familiar rush of blood in her mouth, and she eagerly drank a few mouthfuls. His blood was sweeter than she thought, but that was probably from all the fruit he ate. She pet track of how much she was taking in, and although she couldn't help but drink a bit more than she had intended, it was by no means anywhere near serious blood damage. It was perhaps, only a couple swallows more than a pint. When she was slowing down, she noticed a slight burning sensation that wasn't there with other blood. This must have been some of the effect. Pulling out slowly, she kissed the spot she had bitten down on, and then his cheek. His neck would heal fine with a little pressure and cotton..she hadn't tapped directly into his carotid. "Now...we wait I guess. I told him to give me until tomorrow evening." She nuzzled into him a bit before letting go of his hand. "You need to tend to your neck." she said quietly, walking over to sit on the edge of the bed. The burning was faint, like mild salsa, but she noted it was still strange that it was there to begin with.

As Elizabeth stepped closer to him, Connor took a few quick, deep breaths as he returned her kiss, shivering as she moved to his neck. For once, his heart beat stayed steady, even as her lips grazed his pulse. He let his eyes closed as she seemed to hesitate, and he just stayed there, content to let her do anything to him.

"I love you too" He replied softly, giving her hand a squeeze, knowing she would be okay. And then she bit into his neck, being bitten was obviously not a new thing for him. Being bitten wasn't exactly the pain, you almost didn't feel that, it was the sting of having the blood come out your veins backwards. It was the sting of vampire venom. He barely managed not to flinch, and simply let himself relax. It didn't last long, as she drank, but it could have been anywehere beween 60 seconds, or hours, days, months, years, and then she had pulled away.

Connor took a deep, steady breath. He gave her a smile, and nodded, grabbing a band-aid from his first aid kit, and, after a visit to the bathroom, stuck it over the puncture wounds. Well, now he had a matching set of bite marks on his neck, and as far as he knew, the scars never faded. Which was why he tended to cover it up. He returned to the room, grabbing a packet of cookies from the coplinatary coffee tea assortement , and eating them to help prevent dizziness, and replace the blood.

He went over to Elizabeth, "How are you feeling?" He asked

She watched him as he tended to himself, thinking about how she'd describe his blood if he asked. Sweet and spicy came to mind, and she smiled a bit to herself. That sounded more like a food description than blood. She turned her attention to how she was feeling, for the sake of the experiment, and found that she was feeling a bit lighter. Curious, if this was the cure, that it should act so slowly when turning into a vampire in the first place was a very fast and painful transformation. Maybe it was because you were losing your humanity that it hurt.

She looked up to him as he asked her how she was feeling, and offered him a light smile, "Not all that bad...actually...a bit light-headed...and d-dizz-"

and as if someone had suddenly flipped an 'off switch', she fell forward, unconscious. She was not breathing, either. She probably should have figured that a virus spreads faster than antibodies do.

(I think)

Connor blinked as Elizabeth started to reply to him, and then she seemed to faint. He caught her before she could fall to the floor, and gently pushed her back onto the bed. There was absolutely no way he could tell if she was alive or not. At least not yet, but it troubled him she wasn't breathing.

He swallowed his mouthful of cookie, and he sat to keep watch, to keep vigil over Elizabeth. He was troubled, hoping his blood hadn't killed her. If it had, he didn't know if he could ever figure Marl.

He didn't know if he could ever forgive himself. He lay a hand gently over Elizabeth's heart, as if his touch could make it beat. Or at least to feel her chest rise in a breath "Please" it was almost a pray, and his voice broke on the word

Her consciousness floated among an eternity of warm blackness. She had no idea what happened, or what time it was. She didn't particularly care either, enjoying the touch of the black around her.

For a while, nothing happened in response to his touch. Her heart did not beat, and no breath was taken...but after a few moments, he may or may not have noticed a slowly building warmth around her chest and gut area. That and the fact that she had not disintegrated into dust already despite her age were his only proof that she was not yet gone from him.

Connor sighed as time went by, his only reassurance that something was happening was the fact that she wasn't dust, but that wasn't very reassuring. He rubbed his eyes, suddenly very tired and exhausted, the last few days catching up to him, and now this. He let out a soft sigh, and continued to watch Elizabeth, finding himself unable to move, until he knew beyond a doubt that Elizabeth would be okay.

He closed his eyes, and took her hand in his. He was sure she would soon be in pain, if his blood would work. Even with the little amount of time vampire blood had been in his system, had been enough to cause him great pain when Marl had given him the dead mans blood.

He sighed, wondering how long he'd have to wait for any sign.

Not too long.

The warmth that he had not noticed building in her torso started to bleed into the rest of her, eventually bringing warmth to her hand and fingertips as well. It could probably be felt radiating slightly from her, too-just like any other living being.

After that, her she was no longer floating in the comforting blackness, but her eyes snapped open and she gasped as if she had been holding her breath against itself. Her grip would tighten around his hand, her nails probably digging in. Still, the strength was nothing compared to what a vampire was capable of in this situation. And she screamed in pain as her entire body jerked, her back arching up as her chest rose . It would look similar to someone being treated with defibrillator. Her body barely was able to settle back down, her gaze just staring at the ceiling above her, before a whole new wave burst through her, again causing her to grip onto him and scream.

Connor could feel the warmth in her hand, and he looked up as she gasped, wincing as her grip tightened, her finger nails digging into his injury, but he didn't complain as she let out a piercing scream, jerking. When she calmed down, Connor pulled her into his arms, holding her tight, and trying to help sooth her, but he felt hopeless.

He held her close, trying to help keep her still as his blood worked through her, tears prickling at his eyes, wishing he could take the pain away, hating the fact that he was the reason for this.he shifted so they were on the middle of the bed, so neither of them would fall off. Her warmth seemed shocking to him, after her normal cold, and the flush of colour that only warmth could bring seemed strange but reassuring

Through her pain, she could feel his presence, his touch. And even as insanely painful as this was, it gave her a note of comfort to know he was there for her. Loving her. A third body jerk caused her to cry out yet again, and briefly she wondered if she was being poisoned or being brought back to life. Even after the major jerking stopped, she wasn't sure what was going on. She felt a smaller pounding in her chest, felt it resonate through her entire body, which was feeling a pain combination of tension, intense soreness and really strong prickles like when you hit your funny bone or your foot fell sleep so bad that you can't feel it when you touch it.

But she felt compelled to breathe, and that too was a strange feeling.

"connor" she whined, just wanting him to hold her close. (or closer, as the case may be)

To Connor, if he felt for it, it was unmistakable that she had a heartbeat - though it would be really fast and really weak at this time.

Connor held her still as best he could, bowed over her, he kissed her cheek lightly, laying his hand on her chest, above her heart, just as the pounding started there, feeling the unmistakable beat that could only be a heart beat, even if it was fast and weak.

And she drew in a breath, and said his name, and he held her as close as possible, "Elizabeth" he replied softly, his voice breaking with emotion once again. "I'm here" he kissed her forehead, content to stay there, to
Hold her, until it was all alright.

His blood had worked, it seemed, and immense relief ran through him. Only now, he knew he was putting her in immense danger, if vampires found out he was the cure...he grimaced, and then he just focused on her. "I'm here" he repeated, "I love you"

Being held as close to Connor as she was, she could again hear his heartbeat and feel his warmth, though she noted neither were as intense as before. She smiled faintly, as he comforted her, her body slowly relaxing as the pain ebbed in intensity. She was glad, whatever outcome it was, the pain was leaving at least.

When she could think clearly enough, she whispered an 'I love you too" through her now quite course throat. She coughed after that but otherwise felt fine. With the ebbing of pain, her heartbeat slipped into a stronger, more steady rhythm...leaving her tired - drained physically and even emotionally from her ordeal. Since she was relaxed, Elizabeth noted the presence of a pounding within her body, one that did not hurt her but was strong enough to feel through out her entire body. And she looked up at Connor with the unspoken question, almost afraid to let herself believe the truth, "Connor...?"

Connor smiled, "your heart beats" he said softly, and a whole world of possibilities opened up to him just then, and he had to push that all away, and just focus on her, and how she was. He brushed back her hair from her face, softly, feeling the warmth of her skin.

He let out a soft laugh, and said "now you really need to become a hunter" he smiled brightly, "but for now, I think it's best to rest. There's hours of night left, so we can sleep, and then leave in the morning" it would be odd adjusting to daytime travel again, but he was sure that was nothing compared to over three hundred years of night.

"I think we can both use some sleep" he said, thinking in what other human needs Rlizabeth might have right then, "are you hungry? Or thirsty?" After all, food and water were essential. Still, she might not feel like she could stomach anything, but it was still polite to ask, he thought.

as he confirmed her thoughts, her happiness soared- and so did the beating of her heart. It almost knocked the breath right out of her with how much it was beating suddenly. A big smiled curled on her lips as he also noted that she would need to become a hunter. For a moment, although she was tired and agreed that she should sleep, she wondered if she even could. She was just so glad that she had accomplished her greatest wish for three centuries...she felt that there should be an entire ball scheduled to celebrate such a big event...but her tiredness returned (being in a nice soft hotel bed) and she nodded.

She was about to try and move to slip under the covers when he asked her about hunger and thirst. It seemed odd to her to think about those things as a seperate state of being...but she focused on it a bit and was again reminded of her course and dry throat. "a bit thirsty" she admitted, "But mostly...just...tired."

Connor nodded, and let her go, to rise and go grab a bottle of water, returning and sitting back down, "drink slowly. Little sips, and not much at a time. You might be sick if you drink too fast, and a lot." He said, some vague recollection from a first aid course came to him at that, and he thought it was useful advice. He glanced to the time, seeing that perhaps an hour had passed.

As he handed the bottle to her, he took out his phone, sending off a quick text to Marl simply saying we will talk in the morning before turning his phone off, and chucking it on the other bed. He shrugged out of his jacket, chucking that on the bed as well, but kept a stake in the waist band of his jeans. Just in case.

Connor was troubled. Would they abandon their mission for he medallion now, or continue it? He was worried about te rising dark, and most likely the medallion would be alright, and in anycase, it could only help one person. There was a higher danger to himself then to the medallion, he thought, if it did get out that his blood was a cure. Which meant that his time would be better spent training Elizabeth to be human, and to be a hunter.

He decided to sleep on it.

As he let go of her and went off, she used the little bit of energy that she had left and pull the covers away enough to slip in. The coolness of the sheets was a sensation she was never aware of before and it caused her to shiver slightly. Reaching for the offered bottle of water, she found it slightly awkward that she was intending on consuming a liquid that was not red. still she listened to his instruction, nodding slightly before unscrewing the cap and taking her first sip. The instant the cool liquid touched her throat, her thirst burned more intensely, instead of causing her to gag like it had before. She still continued to take in only the smallest sips, but it was obvious that she was really thirsty as she tried to take those small sips in as fast as possible. This caused a small, but steady stream down her throat.

When she finished about 1/4 the bottle, she put it down and gasped in need of air, and that caused her to cough a bit. "Why do you humans insist that water has no taste?" she asked, incredulous, as if water was the most amazing thing she's tasted in her entire life...and forgetting that she was human again already.

Connor chuckled, watching as she drank, rising to go to the door, he looked out to check that no one was coming to investigate the screaming Elizabeth had caused, but it seemed that a lot of people prefered the "don't ask don't tell" motto of many typical low prices inns. For which he was relieved. They didn't need cops coming down on them, what with enough weapons to arm at least 10 people in his duffel, and that was armig them with more then one weapon.

He returned back to the bed, content to sit and her move into normal, human sleep. "Because we drink it every day. But I swear to god, in the morning it's always the best thing in the whole wide world to drink" he said, sitting down, "you need to learn your identity again. You're human now-mostly. I mean, I have more...well abilities that a human doesn't after all, and I was technically a vampire for like two minutes...it will be interesting to see what, if any abilities you may have. But that can wait till morning" he said. If course, there was also the possibility that Connor was just special. And then a horrifying thought struck Connor. Would Elozabeths blood be a cure too, now? He would have to broach that subject with Marl later too.

"For now, sleep"

She listened to him, returning to sip at the water in an attempt to quench her new thirst. She blushed though, when he reminded her that she was human and needed to talk like one. Yes, she would need to add that to the list of things she would need to work on. A list, she was sure, that was going be be quite long.

At about half the bottle, she finally succeeded in ridding herself of her thirst for the night, gasping for air again. Number one, call yourself human. Number two, learn how to drink water properly. She was quite certain she had never seen Connor gas for breath when drinking out of a water bottle.

She sighed, yawned, set the water bottle bottle on the nightstand, and then slipped further into the blankets and close to his body. She was only conscious long enough to listen briefly. Soon though, she smiled as she was lulled to sleep by not one-but two heartbeats.

And the next morning, he would -again- find her sucking on his shoulder...though this time, there is no chance of her biting him for blood.

Connor smiled, and wrapped his arms around her, listening as she drifted off to sleep, listening to the slow, even breathing that was pruly human. For once, he could listen to her heart beating, and he went to sleep easily, knowing that they were both human. Or mostly.

He woke before the sun, once more finding Elizabeth sucking on his shoulder. He wondered if that was comforting for her, like a baby with their thumb or pacifier. He wasn't qualified to say so, but he smiled, and this time, he didn't make an effort to move away, but he did reach for his phone, turning it on and using it one handed.

There was a text from Marl, merely asking what was wrong, so Connor sighed, reluctantly moving away, failing Marls number, moving towards the bathroom so he wouldn't wake Elizabeth as he talked. He spoke softly as Marl answered, and said "you owe me a lot of explanation Marl. You should have told me your theory. Hell, Marl, I could have been home, helping to deal with the vampires, then chasing after the medallion. Why when you knew that's what I was doig, didn't you say anything?"

There was a sigh "because you hadn't been attacked them, and I wasn't sure if I was ever going to tell you. But you needed to know, because that's why they attacked you"

Connor sighed in return and said "we are probably coming on" before hanging up, turning to look towards Elizabeth

Elizabeth, needing more sleep than Connor, would have been asleep longer if something hadn't stirred her from it early on. She blinked awake...well...half awake, and saw Connor looking at her. She looked at him, confused, before her stomache growled loudly and her face scrunched all up as a sort of pain in her guts made her clench up in a ball in the bed and groan slightly.

This was followed by another loud stomach growl and a slight growl from her in frustration, "what is wrong? what does it want?"

A little more wiggling around before setting into the fetal position, facing connor. "Gha, Connor! My body is acting weird! There's pain, and weird noises, and a tight tickling sensation down lower...and I don't like any of it."

(this is where I start getting my amusement for the rest of the thread :P)
