The music was almost hypnotic that filled the main ballroom of Enchanted Academy's Recreational Wing. It was pumping and filling the air with an atmosphere of fake normalcy. Nothing was normal here, even if it appeared so, nothing was. No one here was fully human, and everyone knew that. Despite it all, humanistic activity still came on as they moved to the beat of the music playing. At least, that was what the vast majority was doing. Others sat around tables talking or were making their way out of the side doors into the courtyard to enjoy the bonfires outside. In short, everything was relaxed and laid back for the night, and all of the students were eating it up.
However, a skinny brunette with her long hair in curls and a slinky, short, black dress hugging her form was merely observing. A denim jacket covered her arms, and her black high heels gave her some height. Ophelia Rizolia, Demon extraordinaire. Around her neck hung a beautiful crystal pendant that glowed brightly on the inside, but the light barely showed outside. It was her pendant, and one no one would understand. In her time at the academy, Ophelia had successfully hid her angelic roots, no one even suspecting she was anything other than her demon self. She walked, confidently towards the bonfire where a few heads turned to her. All of them demons, and all of them smirked when she sat with them. Males. All of them.
"Nice of you to finally grace us with your presence, Lia." The brunette male with stunning eyes commented. Lia smirked, and out of her jacket pocket, she pulled out a cigarette and lit up.
"Shut it, Ayden. You know how much I love these events. Getting hit on by boys who can't string a thought together is such a turn on." She said, taking a long drag and blowing out her stream of smoke. Three things that Lia was known for. Her rather unique immunity to allure and mind powers, her ability to call upon and control hell hounds, and her ability to be a stone cold bitch. Most guys who met her either try to get in her pants, or they figure out she is impossible. But then there was her demon crowd, who tried to get her to teach them her ways. Ayden Locke, however, was a rather interesting sort. An outcast hanging out with one of the most known girls in school, and why?
Because oddly enough the two were branded demons, meaning both of them had a single symbol branded into their human forms that set them apart. Though the demon dialect used on Ophelia's was much too old for Ayden to understand, but he knew his meant 'demon of fire.' It gave him the ability to manipulate and create fire, and not to mention it gave him an edge over regular demons. It was why they bonded because of the three types of demons, the branded ones were the fewest and furthest between. There were the regulars, who normally took on attributes of an animal in human form; the summonsed who are the most dangerous and dark; and the branded who are given special abilities and strengths from the time they were branded.
"So, Lia, you going to play nice for a bit tonight and actually enjoy yourself?" Ayden asked, and Lia blew out her drag before chuckling.
"Has hell frozen over yet?" She retorted and soon she could see more people flocking outside, and the music from the inside was seeping outside. "These welcoming shindigs are a waste of time, Ayden, but it gives me time away from my studies, so I can't complain."
Ayden nodded, his eyes travelling over towards a girl he didn't quite recognize, and he brought his finger up and caused the fire to create different shapes, more.or less to impress but also to cast more light on her face. She was beautiful, her face breathing an almost Asian but not nationality. Her eyes were dark, but gorgeous nevertheless.
Ayden looked to Lia who had put out her cigarette, and leaned back against one of the regular demons, Arik if he recalled correctly, and he shook his head. "Arik, you know you don't stand a chance with her, right. Nobody does."
Arik shot him a look, but Lia laughed. "You are so right, Ayden, and there are plenty of reasons."
Ayden stood though, "But I will be back. Going on the prowl."
Lia.shot him a sidelong glance, and he gave her a look. The two actually had a rather deep understanding of each other, which was odd for Lia and anyone really. And Ayden was an outcast in the school because.of his abilities and his temper, but he still had a few friends. "Call me if you need anything, I am sure Rose and Lily are wanting to pounce."
Ayden chuckled when she mentioned her hounds, and he headed off, and he saw the girl, casting her a wavebefore motioning he was heading inside. If she didn't follow, she didn't follow, but he would catch her later. As he was heading in, he bumped into the shoulder of Luca Winters, a very popular boy in the academy. A notorious play boy, but Ayden cast him a smile, his normally dark eyes dancing like fire. "Have fun, all the best people have been out there for a while." He commented before finally heading inside to grab aome grub, and something to drink.
