I know that. But Grey said that I was "basically outright plagiarizing a canon character" after I edited in his equipment and abilities. So when he said (read; typed) "cannon character" I thought that he was talking about a character from a Tales of game that I hadn't played

Um... this isn't a crossover, basically. Using a character as a base is fine but straight copying them isn't.

Anyway, um, thinking of some kind of light speedy melee fighter maybe.

Canon means any and all character from an established media or franchise. Now please either edit your character or come up with a new character if you are still interested in joining.

I think I have a really unique idea for a Hunter. I'll have their CS up in a jiffy.

Would I be able to play as someone from the Parthos Empire? A villain, most likely.

*Name: Justice Emerson
*Age: 16
*Gender: Unknown to all others but themselves. Identifies as gender fluid, and will respond to both female and male pronouns.
*Appearance: Minus the wings:
*Class: Hunter
*Equipment: A bow and quiver of arrows.
*Abilities, Artes, and Skills:

Justice has decent hunting skills, due to coming from a family of hunters. Justice also, while weaker than their proficiency with a bow, can use a couple of kicking Artes.

Justice can also sew and cook decently.

Justice's starting Artes are: Piercing Line, Inspect Eye and Hell Pyre.

*Personality: Justice comes across as calm and relaxed except when provoked. They prefer to take things by their own pace and venture the world on their own time. In battle, Justice is disciplined and keeps quiet in battle except when they're calling out their Artes. Justice is socially awkward around others, but tries to cover it up with a subtly flirtatious personality towards both genders. Justice, despite their namesake, believes that justice is a dead act, which gives Justice a hatred for authority and rulers. Helping Justice's androgyny is their voice; having a calm, higher pitch than some others, but having a husky undertone to it, leading to the fact that Justice really could be either female or male.

*Brief Bio: Justice was adopted into the Emerson family at age 8 in the Halderon Empire. Even back then, Justice didn't have a certain gender they went by, being an androgynous child. As Justice grew older and learned about hunting from their new family, they began to wonder who their biological parents were. It didn't help matters that in the town Justice grew up in that people would pick on them just because of their gender fluid nature. At age fourteen, Justice left home to travel the world to become a Hunter and merchant selling animal and monster meat and hides, to leave the judgmental eyes of the town, and to eventually learn who their biological parents were.

However, what Justice didn't know was that Justice was a Zaelborn and technically did not even have a parent. While Justice still has little knowledge that they are a Zaelborn, they resent the war both for Parthos's ruthlessness and for the war inadvertently ruining their business. They wish to join the strong to dismantle Parthos (with pay from the group of course), having no want to settle the conflict by peaceful means but if Parthos pays Justice well, Justice would also work for them.

Name: Nyoria des Vair

Age: 22

Gender:Female

Appearance:

Class: Twinsword

Equipment:
Weapons:

Dirge- A short sword made of sharpened bone, it's pommel is black. It has several unique markings on the side of the blade, carved in by its owner.
Miasma- A larger and heavier blade than Dirge, it's strike is often critical. Its blade is made of gilded steel, showing the picture of three angels ripping the heart out of a monster. The blade flashes a blinding light when exposed to blood.

Armour:
Gilded armour- A basic set of steel armour, with the Halderon Republic symbol gilded into the plate armour.

Accessories:
Token of Fealty: A unique ring worn by sleeper agents to show their loyalty to the Parthos Empire. It has the power to make the wearer immune to being blinded.

Abilities, Artes, and Skills: Demon Fang, Tiger Blade, Tiger Rage

Personality: Nyoria is very competitive and always feels she needs to be doing better than her best effort. She sets unrealistic standards for herself and is her own worst critic. Failure is never an option and she'd pursue her objective out of duty and honour to her homeland. Strength is important to Nyoria, not only physical strength, but emotional and mental strength are great values that she respects. Although she knows these traits are necessary in war, Nyoria is very impulsive and disobedient against direct orders and often far more inquisitive than a military officer should be. According to her, as long as the job gets done there shouldn't be any rules.

Brief Bio: Nyoria was born as the second child to a prestigious dynasty known as the des Vair family. The dynasty is well renowned in the Parthos Empire and known for their mass amount of wealth. Nyoria was drafted into the military at the age of sixteen and was expected to take command on day one due to her noble roots. The empire valued her hard work but she often bumps head with her superiors on how to tackle problems. She has seen much of war, but has yet to fail a mission, something which she prides herself on despite her impulsive nature.

Nyoria has been dispatched to the Halderon Repubic as a sleeper agent. She has been stationed in the army for two years as a spy and makes contact with her superior once a month to give critical information. Her rank has grown considerably since she enlisted and has now become a captain and is privy to secret operations against her homeland.

@Sarcastic Devotee: Your character seems very good though I do have a question. Is the Hell Pyre Arte a variant made for bows or does Justice have a sidearm tucked away somewhere? Since it's an Arte commonly made for swords, eheh.

@Superfly: Your character also seems fine. Though she's not a Zaelborn, right?

OOC?

EDIT: btw here is my character, he is based in the Symphonia universe atm (from a different RP) but here is his basic rundown

[Center]The Character Sheet[/Center)
Name: Miles Rohan
Nickname: 'The Ossa Trail Demon'
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Occupation: Drifter
Housing: Unknown

Height: 5'10
Weight: 163
Distinctive Proportions: rangy but solid muscular build
Frame: masculine
Description of looks:

Main Weapon (Primary) : Bastard Sword
Sub Weapon (Primary): Fists

Main Weapon (Secondary):
Sub Weapon (secondary) :

Type of Artes: Fierce Demon Fang, Savage Sword Rain, Twin Tiger Blade, Triple Fist, Dragon Dance, Beast, Shockwave Slash, Infernal Torrent, Eagle Dive

Fighting Style: Miles swings a very large bastard sword in combat and his insane strength allows him to wield it well with one hand, although he holds it with both for optimum precision. When swinging his sword he also fights with his fists and feet (similar to Yuri Lowell) usually stunning the enemy with quick martial arts combos before finishing them off with his blade. His style looks very wild and untrained to the novice eye. But this is very specific rapid and aggressive style that he has honed for 7 years of fighting bandits and monsters in the Ossa Trail.

Sexuality:
Hometown: Unknown, resides in the Ossa Trail

Weaknesses: Inability to work as a team, reckless fighting style with little defense, little understanding of events and politics outside of the Ossa trail.
Strengths: Very perceptive, Highly developed survival skills, Strong moral code, skilled carpenter.

Elemental Weakness: darkness
Elemental Immunity: lighting

Background: Very little is known about the 'Ossa Trail Demon' he was discovered in the Hakonesia peak as half-feral 7 year old who was hunting chickens with a sharp rock. a few travelling groups tried to take him with them but he was much to wild and unruly to control. It wasnt till a band of cutthroat bandits came along did he end up joining them. They trained him as a warrior all the way up to his 14th birthday when they gave him his first weapon and took him on his first raid, a caravan travelling back from palmacosta.
At this point Miles knew very little of what a bandit actually did. He knew that they stole to feed the group but it was only during the raid he saw the slaughter of innocent travellers and the savage nature of the hold up.

It only took Miles 10 mins, to realise that he didnt want to be apart of this anymore so he tried to run away from it all. But the bandit group were paranoid about letting witnesses escape so they shot Miles, one of their own with a crossbow. He took it in the hip and hit the floor wailing in pain. At that moment he felt his body go back into survival mode, just like when he would hunt chickens, he grabbed his sword with his new found training and strength and in a matter of minuites, slaughtered every single one of the bandits he was with. The grateful travellers didnt have time to thank him as he pulled out the arrow, crudely patched himself up, and rode one of the bandit horses all the way to the Ossa Trail.

Okay, at this point in time, I want to point something else. If you have an idea that involves things such as religious orders and such, please bring it up in the thread or the PM because odds are, if I don't know what you're talking about, I cannot put it in the setting. Also for the sake of at least asking permission too, since that would be rping etiquette and I might not be completely okay with some ideas, okay?

Secondly, please use the character sheet I set up in the beginning of the thread rather than your own. It's a lot easier on me this way.

@Pathfinder: I don't think I'm at all okay with the armor idea, and would you mind explaining more in depth about the Order you've concocted?

@Dynamo: Change your character sheet please. Also all your Artes are too strong atm.

Full disclosure warning, I actually have no idea what this game is so my knowledge of what is and what isn't a thing is limited.

Well the order is a collection of monks, priests, nuns, and paladins all dedicated to the Lady. The origin of the lady is a mystery to everyone, even the order. Scholars outside the order believe that the lady could be Gladrasil but don't pay too much attention to the little group, there are bigger things to worry about. The order itself is split up into two halves, the faith and the warriors. The nuns and monks stay in the monastery while the priests and paladins spread out, preaching and defending the Lady's will. Outside of this there isn't much for advancement and the people in the order are happy with their place but there are special select few, three, that are chosen for greater things.

During the right of placement, an act much like the christen baptism in which the person is held underwater for a time, there is a chance that the water will turn either red, gold, and black. These symbolize the three faces of the Lady, Mercy, Faith, and Vengeance. The vessel of mercy is almost always a woman and works to absolve those of their sins, like a priest in confession. However unlike a priest, the vessels method is a little more active, literally burning the sin from the veins of others. While painful the act does remove the sin from their bodies, but this act can only be used on a person once. If they were to fall to a life of sin again then the purge would kill them.

The vessel of faith changes genders each generation, meaning that every time there is a new vessel it will be the opposite gender of the current vessel. The job of the vessel of faith is much like a spiritual leader, supposedly conversing with the lady and making sure that the order stays on the straight path. The vessel of faith is able to tell the intentions of any who speak to it by looking not at the body, but at the soul.

Lastly there is the vessel of vengeance, a predominately male position. Unlike the vessels of mercy or faith who stay inside the walls of the monastery and lead the others onto the good path, the vessel of vengeance goes out into the world and punishes others for crimes against the Lady. However each vessel of vengeance is different, some take up a mantel of protection and avenges all wrongs committed against the innocent while others ignore all else unless it has anything to do with the Lady. It truly is up to each vessel of vengeance how much their judgment spreads. Unlike the mercy or faith who gain magic powers, vengeance is trained in the arts of martial war and in basic magical defense, there is little more terrifying to see than a vessel of vengeance fully enlightened.

@Pathfinder: Unfortunately, I will have to veto your idea as that does not fit all that well into my setting. Sorry.
