Alright, so I'm a little new to this site (bare with me, please).
Basically, I am writing a story for my schooling and although I have the plot and characters created, I'm looking for different view points to spice up my plot and maybe to uncover things that I cannot directly see. I need nine people to play characters, and I will be playing one myself since the story is in first person. I will also give credit to whoever is willing to help me out.
Plot: The story is about a teenage girl who is about to go to college, but is in a relationship and has been for two years. She has just moved closer to her boyfriend from a town a few miles away. But, she starts to see that her boyfriend has taken interest in a different girl, and she is worried yet intrigued but is being pulled in a different direction since her new neighbor is very interested in her. Throughout the story, her boyfriend runs off with this other girl and begins to experiment with drugs and alcohol, and she tries her best to save someone she deeply cares about from a world of addiction. While this is happening, her mother begins dating someone new, her brother also becomes involved in drugs and a stripper, and she has trouble with loneliness since she has moved away from her friends and knows no one in her new town.
Setting: It is summer, current time. The story takes place in an area like Southwestern Pennsylvania (although I will not disclose that in the actual story) in three towns underneath a ridge. Our main character is from the largest city, Chamberlain, which is more of a ritzy area, although she is not rich. She moves closer to the ridge to a town called Suthron where her boyfriend lives, and it is more remote but very prosperous and quaint. The third city, Folly, is a very run-down area with a drug problem, and every here seems to be more "country" than the people living in the bustling towns.
Characters:
Allie Cameron - The main character (I will be playing her). She is 18 and very innocent, she does not drink or 'party' but is open to the thought of it. She is the typical all-american girl and is attending a university in the fall. She has just moved closer to her boyfriend and is very excited about it. She is loving, caring, and very sweet, but craves attention and a male figure in her life due to her parents separation and no father in her life. She is very polite and follows the rules, but loves to be the center of attention and is absolutely head over heels crazy about her boyfriend, almost to the point where she becomes unbearable. She is described as very short, blue eyes, long blonde hair, and a very contagious laugh and smile. She is a typical girly girl, but loves outdoor adventures and fun.
Jack Casper - Allie's boyfriend. He is twenty years old and attends community college in Suthron where he lives, but has somewhat of a 'lazy' or 'unmotivated' sense about him. He loves Allie but does not show his affection well, and begins to take interest in a girl he has known for years (Dominique). Although his parents make good money, he began his life living in a run-down section of Folly where he originally met Dominique. In the beginning of the story, he is straightedge and hates the thought of alcohol, but becomes easily influenced after trying to impress her. He is still coming off of his ego of being a jock in high school. He is extremely handsome, around 6'2" with dark skin, eyes, and curly long brown hair. He also has a contagious smile and bubbly personality. He later gets a job at the same restaurant as Dominique to make their relationship closer.
Dominique "Dom" Jakubek - Dom is the girl who steals Jack. She is also 20 and looks almost identical to Allie, but has a more edgy aspect to her personality. She is from Folly, and has lived a very hard life. Her parents didn't seem to care about her whereabouts and over the years it has shown. She is a waitress at a popular restaurant in Suthron where she makes money to support herself and also attends community college. She has always been an avid party girl and uses hard drugs, which she influences onto Jack. She isn't actually 100% interested in Jack, but just likes to play mind games and manipulate people.
Finn Dunnivan - Finn is Allie's new next-door neighbor. He begins to take interest in her and offers her relationship advice and comfort when things begin to go sour with Jack. He is sensitive, funny, and genuinely cares about Allie as well as Jack, since they went to highs school together. He is twenty years old, at an average height, with red hair that he spikes up. He is attractive, but not a typical catch for Allie. Although he is a good kid, he tries to introduce Allie to a few parties and life beyond what Jack has given her.
Kendyl "Ken" Jakubek - Kendyl is Dom's younger cousin. Although they look very different, they both have the same attitudes. Kendyl is also from Folly and has grown into a partying lifestyle with drugs involved. She does not care about what others think of her and will be the first to tell you how it is. She defends Dom throughout the story and helps her manipulate Jack. She is 18, 5'5" with dark hair and dark eyes, and is rarely seen without her boyfriend by her side.
Chase Larsen - Kendyl's boyfriend. He is originally from Britain and has an accent, but moved to Suthron and went to high school there. Although he is a typical rich kid with a fast car and unstoppable attitude, he got mixed into the kids from Folly after becoming a regular at the party scene and using cocaine, which he got from the Folly. Since he went to high school in Suthron, he knows Jack very well and helps introduce him to parties and reignite the flame with Dom. He is shorter than average, with dirty blonde hair, always wearing a hat, and dresses extremely well.
Paxton "Pax" Clawson - Allie's older half-brother. He is 25, did not attend college, and is trying to make a living for himself cutting lawns and landscaping. He is a very good kid, but hates the thought of work. He has blonde hair, brown eyes, and is also shorter than average. He does not live with Allie, but visits her and her mother often maintaining a very close relationship with them. He has trouble with addiction, and it worsens after meeting his new girlfriend.
Asia Marks - Paxton's new girlfriend. She does absolutely nothing for herself other than strip. She has no personality because it is usually covered up by her constant use of drugs and alcohol. She is a stripper at a run-down club in Folly and drags Paxton down further into addiction and a hard life. She has black hair and is very tall.
Shawn Hibbets - Shawn is Jack's best friend. Although they were very different in high school, the two neighbors have always stayed close. Shawn has no experience with girls, but tries to steer Jack away from Dom's ways. He is very awkward, very backwards and shy. He has brown hair and a brown beard, with dark eyes and a medium build.
Blair Rodney - Blair is Allie's best friend from her first home, Chamberlain. Blair tries to convince Allie to move away from Jack although she knows her efforts will not work. She is a very good friend to Allie and will support her in any decision she makes, although she may disagree and may voice her opinion. Blair loves to drink and socialize at parties but has never let herself sink into drugs and the scum that live in surrounding areas. She has dark curly hair, blue eyes, and is built slightly bigger than average.
I am open to all suggestions! All characters except Allie need to be played, so let me know who you will opt to be, and after we get volunteers, we will begin!
