Edit: No longer accepting new players. If you want to join, you'll be put on the waiting list in case someone drops out.

Somewhere deep underground where the daylight doesn’t reach are the Dungeons of Asmodeus, built by the titular demon lord to torment the mortals trapped inside for eternity. Once inside, the mortals are given a faint hope of escape: if they can make their way to the dungeon’s only exit, they will be free to go. The dungeon is designed like a cruel game: magical doors are littered throughout the maze of halls and hallways, which will only open if sufficient blood is shed near them, forcing the prisoners to fight among each other for a chance at freedom. When a prisoner dies inside the dungeon, they are brought back to life to fight again, thus feeding Lord Asmodeus’ hunger for agony. Until now, no one has ever escaped the dungeons, and all those who tried have gone insane from their repeated deaths. Soon, a new group of heroes will find themselves waking up inside the dreaded dungeons. Will they finally be victorious over the hazards of this demonic place, or will they succumb to madness like all those before them?

So basically, this is an overhaul of ImportantNobody's Wizard's Dungeun. 4-5 players will newly enter the dungeon and try to make their way through it, while I serve as the dungeon master. It will be challenging, so expect to die repeatedly and try to adapt to overcome a stronger foe. At the start, the characters will find themselves nearly naked, with all of their equipment gone. During their run through the dungeons, they will have to loot equipment from their enemies in order to survive. At first this will come down to basic weapons and armor, but later on they will also find magical artifacts that'll increase their physical or magical prowess, thus making for a sort of character progression.

I'll write up a CS
EDIT: Here it is!
EDIT2: Can we have companions? It would fit my character's history

Name- Finn Adgaurd
Age- 19
Gender- Male
Race- Human
Personality- Adventurous, loves adventuring into the unknown. Brave, doesn't get scared about what's ahead. Unselfish, will focus more on allies rather than themselves. Not too smart, but nice.
Appearance-

Strengths- Doesn't get scared easily, knowledge of swords, can help his team when in need, and doesn't care at all about pain- so he'll fight through pain if it means killing the monster infront of him.
Weaknesses- Doesn't stop to think about traps, how much more powerful the monster might be than him, will focus solely on helping his allies, even if it means his death.
Powers- Intense knowledge of swords, when under great pressure or close to death, will allow him to swing his swords rapidly and slash through everything infront of him.

Physical Abilities:
See the Wiki

History- Was born on a small farm with a mother and a father, his mother worked farming and his father worked as a swordsman and taking care of them both. He would sometimes help make swords with his father and sometimes help farm with his mother. He would also sometimes attend his father's sword lessons, and ended up learning how to use a sword swiftly and easily. Being raised on a farm out with only his mother, father, and dog, he wasn't raised as selfish or lazy, but being stuck on the farm gave him a thirst for adventure, one when fulfilled makes him happy and joyous.

A few years later, his same old life, he lived and grew, often running out into the forest and plains to find monsters and caves, where he would love to find loot and fight the monsters, something that fulfilled his need for adventure. One day, while adventuring out in the forest, he was confronted by a demon, whom he tried to fight, but ended up knocking him unconscious. He woke up a few hours later in a small room, definitely the start to a dungeon. He was told that there was a chance to escape, and he would've loved to just live in the dungeon, living his life fighting monsters and gaining loot, but he knew his parents would grow sad and lonely at his disappearance, so he set off to escape the dungeon.

Good character. I'll have to think about having a companion for a bit. The dog would be useful at first, but would quickly fall into irrelevance unless i include dog-specific equipment somewhere...

Edit: Just as a note, you won't start with your own sword. There'll be plenty to find throughout the dungeon, of course.

What if the dog grew stronger, as well? Not just equipment-wise, but I sorta based this character off of a character of a cartoon character named Finn, his dog was magic and could talk, so maybe this companion dog could grow in power, maybe gain some sort-of dog magic? *shrugs*

Lol, Finn the human. I'll give it some thought. He doesn't seem to be at the max allowed powerlevel yet, so perhaps we can include the dog as part of his character, kinda like a hunter's pet in WoW. Maybe there's special things the dog can eat to get stronger...

Maybe so, but I know that if there was the dog's growing ability from the show... that might be a bit OP

I suppose we'll go for less cartoony powers than Jake's. It'll prolly mostly come down to physical upgrades, and maybe some minor magic. We can't make the dog too powerful, cause Fyran and him are still considered to be one character and should stay within the restrictions of such. That is unless i absolutely can't find a fourth player, but we'll consider that if and when it happens.

Damn, Yama sounds like something that escaped from the Dead Space universe. Very cool character. He might not be very suitable for this RP though. For one, he seems too powerful, with his exceptional self-healing on top of his great strength and superhuman speed. Check out the character guidelines tab in the first post and you'll see that the characters are intended to be of a fairly low powerlevel. Secondly, he doesn't use any weapons or armor (assumably), which undermines the sort of loot-and-scavenge-based gameplay i was going for.

It could be argued that his lack of using equipment makes up for being innately more powerful, but... still. I could consider letting him in, perhaps with a few nerfs, but you said you had another character, right? One who's suspiciously trustworthy. Perhaps that one is more suitable?

I thought we were going for Captain America levels.

Welp, since we aren't I'll write up Mr. Sunshine's sheet.

Later though, as I have a job I'm going to be applying for today.

The captain america levels were for infinite spirals. While similar, this one has a different character level. Im on my phone right now, but I'll post my character when I get home and to my computer. Hopefully we'll be able to get to the meat of the RP soon.

And yes, I was the one with the terrifying Sonic avatar. Ive beem tempted to put it back up, but i havent been able to decide yet

He seemed more powerful than Captain America to me at first sight, but i guess when you get into the practical matters, he isn't all that overpowered, as a good hit to the head can still kill him. The bigger problem is his incompatibility with the premise of the RP, don't you think?

About the meat of the RP, i've got the first part planned out already, so we can start as soon as we have 4 people with accepted characters.

Edit: Also, as a comic book character, Captain 'Murica's abilities tend to fluctuate. Some of the comics have him bench pressing 2000 lbs, which is supernatural in every way but in name. When i say peak human abilities, i mean more like the realistic peak, rather than the way comic books sometimes portray it.

I put all of his abilities below the current world records for everything but speed. I put that at Cheetah speed because apex predator.

Anyway, I'll have a bit more free time today. Unfortunately.

The strongest guy could lift around 1,000 pounds, but that's not realistic for most people, and of course he couldn't do anything after lifting that weight, putting all his strength into lifting so couldn't move it around, throw it, etc, which would limit the usefulness.

After reading up on BOTH of those job opportunities that I was going to apply for, I realized both of them were fucking useless to me for different reasons.

Woohoo, longer unemployment!

If you guys need an additional person to join I could come in with my priest in a weakened state. He has an intense rivalry with demons already. But then again he doesn't really rely on weapons either, using his powers, so it might not fit in in that regard. Too bad he both fits in perfectly and doesn't fit in at the same time. I'll likely just have to use a different character.

Edit: Maybe he has an apprentice. A...psycho nun who's a weapon master?
Edit: I could say he becomes un-possessed so that's why he looses his powers and relies on weapons, but that might take away a lot of his coolness.

Name: Alexander Beck Brighton

Title: Mr. Sunshine

Age: 36

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Random Descriptors: Trust me when I say this, there are no negative aspects of Mr. Sunshne. He's tall, dark, handsome, clever, and one of the nicest men you'll ever meet. Unfortunately, his incredible kindness and an attitude to always roll with whatever happens. Leads some to see him as boring, dull, and sometimes annoying.

Physical Description: Alexander Brighton is in the prime of his life, and blessed with a family lineage that lead to him being the thoroughbread of humans. A square jaw, soft curly hair as brown as chocolate, built like a house too. Alex here's shoulders are more square than Steve Urkel, he's as fit as a fiddle with a bodybuilder's complexion. Alexander's eyes are soft, showing kindness and glittering more brightly than should be possible. His irises are as brown as his hair. To some, his eyelashes are effeminate, but they're long and thick. Constantly looking as though he's put makeup through them. There is a deep cleft in his chin, and his cheeks have perfectly even dimples. There are no blemishes on his skin, anywhere. He stands at six feet and seven inches tall.

Alexander's hair is kept neat and tidy, with a maximum length of three inches at any point in time. As well, he is blessed with remarkable facial hair. Not a beard, but a magnificent moustache. Thick and wide, stretching over his lip and connecting to his sideburns to form a Muttonstache. Everywhere else on his body is cleanly shaven, waxed actually, he maintains this smooth skin with daily shaving. Everywhere. Everywhere.

Though very few, Mr. Sunshine has some very large scars on his body. The most notable being the one on his upper left thigh, a perfectly circular burn scar. From a branding iron. And the one running from his waist to his right armpit. This was a slash from a cavalry sabre, the man leaned down from his horse and slashed him from waist to arm with a great cleave. Left him with a very deep and painful scar. There are a number of other smaller scars, though they are all from blade slashed. The smallest measures three inches.

Personality Description: Here's where it gets a bit tricky. Mr. Sunshine is, well, a bright and cheery guy. There is absolutely nothing that will make him sad, as though he lacks the ability to feel any emotion besides happiness. At face value he's a great guy, the heroic sort of course. Donning armor and raising the flag of his cause, and never faltering in his good morals. And that's where the normalcy ends. Mr. Sunshine, as most come to call him, is nor quite your average hero. No. Mr. Sunshine has no concept of personal space. Mr. Sunshine has no concept of how eerie it is to stare at people. Mr. Sunshine has no concept of just how suspicious it is to never stop smiling.

Abilities:
Quick Learner: He's not a mage by any stretch of the word, the most magic he can do is grow flowers a bit faster. But if he were to be handed a spell book, or if he were taught by a skilled mage, he could easily learn any spell. As well, he can learn how to use practically any weapon. Put it in his hands and give him about ten minutes, he'll handle it like a natural.

Training:
Fisticuffs: Bare knuckles and shirt off, Mr. Sunshine is a skilled pugilist. With skills that would give Muhammad Ali a run for his money. 12 years of fighting bare knuckle, 4 years of professional training.

Olympic Wrestling: Don't ask him to wrestle you properly, unless you're cool with fighting a naked guy. Alexander took to wrestling when he hit adulthood, learning how to grapple with even stronger opponents. Tossing them, using his physical strength to heave foes over him that could easily crush him. 7 years hobbyist, 2 years professional training.

Western Swordplay: His father was an upper class noble and insisted that Alexander learn how to defend himself with a blade. Of course Alexander obliged and for the majority of his youth and young adulthood he trained with the sword, learning how to combat any and all weapon with a longsword/broadsword/claymore/greatsword/shortsword. 19 years professional training. Continued self improvement to this very day.

Fencing: As a hobby he took up fencing, though not as fun as swordplay was to him. He took to it well, besting his training in only a few short years. Though he has not practiced with it since he was a youth he is still trained to use rapiers. 4 years professional training.

Peak Conditioning: For his entire life he has exercised, trained, fought, and reached to be the very best possible human being. His body isn't the strongest, fastest, or most durable. But he's as close to each and every one of those as is possible without focusing solely on one of those traits. Able to lift 300lbs, benchpress 360 lbs. Able to run long distance at 16 mph, and sprint at 20 mph. As with all humans he can take a licking and keep on kicking, but he's a remarkable specimen. A wound that would prove fatal to normal men would only slow him down. Aside from his brain or heart being damaged of course.

Equipment:
None.

Weaknesses:
He's not a genius, he's not superhuman, he's got no precognition and he will attest to the fact that he's just a normal human. Teamwork is not his best trait, despite working with numerous allies in the past. Mr. Sunshine is the sort who runs into combat headlong without thinking of the consequences, though it has worked for him in the past, it might not work for him here. Mr. Sunshine is terrified of wasps, no other flying insects, but wasps and wasps alone. Why? None of your business. But it's a fear so deep seated that he will drop whatever he is doing, turn 180 degrees, and retreat to a safe distance from the Wasps. Until he is certain they are dealt with.

History:
Alexander was born into a privileged upper class noble family in a coastal city, his father was family to royalty and his mother was a merchant who had made it big by some strange circumstance. Selling scented soaps. Of course this lead to a childhood full of excess and anything that he wanted. Unlike most noble children however, he didn't want to carry on the legacy of his father and take his riches. Nor did he wish for a life of accomplishing nothing but carrying on an empire of want.

Alexander wanted to be a hero.

His father knew he was just a boy so he gave Alexander whatever he wanted, allowing him to burn out that passion of his. Unfortunately for his father his passion only grew as he did. Mr. Sunshine was born when Alexander took to wrestling, unfortunately his father didn't approve so he had to go under a false name to practice. Pugilism followed, and his skill only grew. Alex became a well known fighter and was payed quite a lot for his numerous victories in arenas and contests of strength. At the age of 20 his father passed away and left his fortune to him, Alex gave his father's fortune to his mother and left home for adventure and to earn his own fortune by working to help those in need. For the past 16 years he has done his best to fight for what he believes is right. Making numerous friends along the way, losing some and gaining others. Never forgetting those that he has lost, never neglecting those he has gained.

When you adventure with Mr. Sunshine, you're going to be in for an interesting time, I can assure you.

Oh i know that, i'm well aware of what humans are capable of. However, while the lifting record is about 1000 lbs and the sprinting record about 25 mph, no one comes even close to doing both. Should that be taken into account? I'm not sure. It's somehow only now dawning on me how unclear of a term "peak human abilities" is. God, i feel like i've been doing nothing but giving people misleading information for the past few days.

Lemme clean the slate and set this straight once and for all, i'm looking for characters of above-human ability, but not significantly so. The lower half of tier 3, i would say, even though the Multiverse tiers are kind of outdated nowadays. In my mind that's where Captain America falls, though it depends on which iteration you're looking at.

In return though, i'm lifting the restriction that they need to be a weapon user of some sort. Upon further thought, that rule seems unnecessarily restricting. That means that for you, Nobody, a nerfed version of Redden would be acceptable. For you, LeeRoy, if you still think Yama falls within the intended power level, i'll reevaluate him tomorrow morning and perhaps i'll let you use him anyways. Tomorrow though, cause i don't trust myself to make any significant decisions after 11 pm.

I swear this is the last time you guys will be forced to switch threads or switch characters or switch whatever. I'm getting tired of my own fuck-ups the last few days.
Ahum, i saw your new CS while i was typing this, LeeRoy. I've only skimmed it for now, but it looks good so far, and far more compatible with the RP. Gimme a moment to really read it.

Lalliman, yo, it's totally chill. Once I posted Yama I realized the actual limits of the RP and decided upon which character would be the most appropriate. Comically enough, The Suspiciously Trustworthy character I was talking about is the one I have just now posted. I realized that he would be much more suitable for this sort of RP, and if another RP with a bit more powerful characters within the tiers 4 and 5 range show up, I'll post Yama there.

God damn it, I'm trying to edit in one more line to his weaknesses but it's not working!

Fixed.

Phew, okay, good. I've been getting a little too worked up lately. Could use some lessons from Mr. Sunshine i suppose
Anyways, i like the character. Muttonstaches and fisticuffs for the win. Merely human physically, but very skilled in a bunch of things, so he should fit right in. Consider him accepted. I am suddenly tempted to incorporate giant wasp enemies at some point though...

So uhm, i'm gonna get some rest now. I'm looking forward to seeing ImpNob's and TheBiddz' CS's too.
