Name: Count Vladimar Draculia (or just Dracula)

Age (vampire): His true age is unknown, but he has lived since the days of ancient Romania, being born when Romania was still called Transylvania. He is estimated to be about four to five thousand years old.

Age of appearance (Human look): While he has no need to feed, how old he looks depends on how recently he fed. When fully fed, he appears to be in his mid-30's. When at his lowest feeding point, he can look as old as his 60's.

Slaves: He has no human slaves, but he is the de facto leader of the vampires, even if there is no official position of total leadership. He didn't take a position, but he commands a certain respect from his kin that makes it a good idea to take his advice (or commands) to heart.

Personality: Dracula can easily be described by one word: pretentious. Dracula deems himself a god above all others, even vampires of equal power to him. He demands respect from other vampires, and the fact that most grant him this reverence only encourages him more. He has a very powerful personality that makes others submit to him, and those that don't submit are swiftly punished. Finally, his opinion of humans is so low that he doesn't even consider them sentient, viewing them only as instruments of the pleasure that feeding grants him.

Powers/skills: Due to becoming a vampire through sheer force of will, Dracula is one of the most powerful vampires and is technically not even undead. As such, he is completely immortal in addition to the usual vampiric strength, speed, and regeneration factor. Unlike his weaker brethren, he is not affected by silver, crucifixes, holy water, garlic, stakes, etc. in the same manner as others. He is also completely immune to ultraviolet radiation. In addition, as with most vampires, he's a shapeshifter, possesses clairvoyance, and can hypnotize humans with ease.

As for skills, due to being a feared Transylvanian general known as Vlad the Impaler before vampirism, Dracula is a very effective leader and has an extremely tactical mind. After millennia of continued training, he is unmatched in swordplay and archery, as well as knowing his way around war engines. He is a strong foe in single combat without even tapping into his extensive power.

Weakness: He cannot be killed by the usual weaknesses, but he is still affected by them, with the exception of ultraviolet radiation. Silver, garlic, and holy water all severely weaken him, bringing him to the same power level as a human until his body is purged of the substances, which usually takes one to two weeks. He is also repelled by crucifixes, and cannot come within ten feet of one. There is also a way to incapacitate him; simply decapitate him, stuff his mouth and body with garlic, and bury the two pieces separately. This won't kill him, but he will be completely unable to regenerate due to the garlic. This still leaves a way for him to return, however, and it's not uncommon for the vampires to bring him back.

Background: Dracula may make the claim of being the first vampire, but this simply is not true. However, he was the first man to become a vampire through sheer force of will, making him the first truly immortal vampire. With his newfound power, he conquered his homeland of Transylvania and ruled it as a tyrant. All attempts to kill him in the same way as most vampires failed, merely weakening him instead. After thousands of years of tyranny, he suddenly retreated to his private estate, leaving humanity to take over. People knew him to exist for a while, but eventually he faded into legend. His house was said to house a demon, and all avoided it. Yet it still seemed to remain pristine, with an old man caring for it. Some thought he was a family member that only cared for it to preserve a legacy, others thought he was a servant of the demon. Nobody could understand that the old man was the demon-like entity they feared resided within the house.

Fast forward to Victorian times, and a lone journalist visited Romania. He was offered shelter by a strange man simply calling himself Vlad, an old but seemingly kindly, if strange, person. The superstition was long since lost to time, and people simply didn't acknowledge the estate due to the fact that all who trespassed, or even visited with an invitation, mysteriously disappeared. The journalist was no exception, and a vampire hunter named Abraham van Helsing heard of this and decided to investigate. He was invited to the estate, and found his suspicions to be true: it was the home of a vampire. All attempts to kill Dracula failed, however, but Van Helsing still learned from the encounter. Dracula was unable to come within ten feet of him, as he always carried a crucifix on his person. Van Helsing then left, deciding that if, after thousands of years, Dracula hadn't done significant harm, it was unlikely that he'd start making trouble again.

He was wrong. Dracula followed him to England and began to terrorize London, draining humans by the dozen. Helsing tried everything he knew, but simply could not do more than weaken Dracula for a week at a time, two weeks at the most. Then the bodies would begin appearing again. Frustrated, Helsing tried a desperate move that he usually considered excessive, and found it completely incapacitated Dracula. They buried him for the first time ever, and he slept for hundreds of years. People began to forget again, but the vampires would remember the impressive show of power that took a lifetime to end. They sought to revitalize this man, but even now he sleeps, his burial site lost to man and vampire alike, waiting for a lost archaeologist or a wandering vampire to find and awaken him.

Appearance:

Other: He is powerful, but what's a vampire roleplay without a classic vampire like Dracula? I did make some attempts to lower his power level a bit, but I couldn't do it too much or the character wouldn't feel like Dracula.

I assume they would sort of know each other because it's like a vampire neighborhood. Vampire neighbors and their slaves that you happen to come across every now and then. That sort of thing, maybe? Because it sounds like each vampire lives in his/her own individual house and not in some big collective.

By make it work, you mean? Since Blade was accepted without using an anime picture, I'm not sure what makes this anime style.

I'm not sure the GM saw that CS yet...she missed by CS the first time around, anyhow.
Also, maybe at some point, we should sort of the whole mechanics of vampirism thing...or we could keep it vague. I kept Karl vague.

Well, vampires are hard to have set mechanics for because there's so many different kinds and legends from different cultures. The only thing most of them have in common is some dependency on blood. I like the idea of vampires needing blood only every few days, but that would make for some very long breaks in hot feeding action in a role play.
But what exactly do you mean by "mechanics of vampirism"?

Well...my questions heavily depends on whether or not their all of the same type of vampire. So far, some of the vampires are changed and some of them are born. There doesn't seem to be any sort of definite half-vampire thing, but there have been vampire to human relations resulting in vampire children. There is quite a bit of variation of weaknesses, but those are flexible. There is a variation on powers, but you could always consider specializations and such. Are the common vampire races from the same source, or are they the modern result of a number of different vampire progenitors? Cause some of them seem alive, while some of them seem undead-ish. If there's one source, is there two strands of vampirism, alive and undeadish? And never gonna give you up, never gonna let you down, never gonna run around and hurt you~!

She has a hard time navigating through spam posts, at worst...she really hasn't seen the Blade CS yet. At best, she just has yet to decide what she'll request changed or not
