Life was once perfect. The humans, the environment, and Pokemon were in perfect balance. Sure, many tried to tip the balance one way or another, but brave trainers always righted it. At least, as much as they could...Too many imbalances took the Surface from us.

Something went wrong with the Legendary pokemon. They came out of hiding and fought with everyone. Trainers, wild pokemon, even people without any pokemon fell to their angry attacks. The bravest of trainers investigated every possible lead--old Team Rocket tricks, the newer but still deadly Team Plasma, and imbalances with our neighboring dimensions. But, they found no conclusive evidence for any of their ideas. Finally, they decided to team up and take down the legendaries once and for all.

That was a huge mistake. Yes, every legendary was killed, and they could no longer attack us humans, but the balance of life was permanently tipped in the humans favor. Soon the weather grew out of control. People became sluggish, depressed shells of their former emotions. Wild pokemon violently attacked humans and pokemon alike. It became dangerous to go outside, so many stockpiled all the supplies they could get and holed up in their homes. Finally the government issued an emergency evacuation from the surface. A sandstorm as big as the Red Spot on Jupiter was due to hit Kanto in five days, and nobody could breathe in that. So, the government poured all of its money and resources into the Magnet Train line. Those subways stretch over every region, and can hold over three hundred thousand people. With everyones stored supplies and the governments money, the population of every region could live there. And, we did! For thirty-five years we lived there.

And now, in Station 5, or Neo Saffron, the first Station-raised generation is ready to go to the surface. Most trainers like to make their Journey around the surface, scrounging for supplies, rare pokemon, and any treasures left, before they return to the station and officially start their life as an adult. Trainers have to be fiveteen to get their license, as wild pokemon are stronger than before, and life can be brutal on the Surface. Only experienced trainers who were old enough to remember life Before the Sandstorm have gone up now. They say Nature is still brutal, and the legendaries are still gone. There are bandits, angry wild pokemon, and crazy storms. But, there are also supplies left free for the taking, migrating tribes, and traveling merchants with all sorts of rarities, like chocolate and pokemon eggs. It's a true adventure just waiting for us to experience it!
NOTES ON THE WORLD

This roleplay is more gritty than the anime and games. More like the manga, if you guys have read it.

This section will grow as I answer questions and put that info here.
RULES

Be nice, obey the GM, site rules, blah blah blah.
I'll set the limit on characters to two for now. If we have a hard time recruiting more members, than the limit will be upped to four. This is so that each legendary will be chosen.

Are we not making character sheets, or has the CS just not been posted up yet?

Also, reserving Cresselia and Azelf.

I'm going to reserve Kyogre for my first character and Groudon for my second. I kind of plan on the two being twins if that is alright.

Name: Phoebe Jones

Gender: Female

Age: 15

Appearance: Phoebe is very pale, like most of the Station-raised kids of her generation. She's paler than them, though, from a lack of sun and genetics, so much that she's been repeatedly tested for anemia. (All tests came back negative, thank Arceus. Medicine is stretched then as is.) Her hair is a thick, curly mess of brown, which her mother keeps trying to tame but simply cannot, and so she ties it in a ponytail hidden under her hand-me-down fur hoodie. Phoebe has grey-blue eyes and prescription goggles that block out the strong winds and fix her eyesight. She's coming to the surface with a hiker's backpack stuffed to the brim with supplies, her six rusted pokeballs, and a damaged Pokedex.

Background: Phoebe grew up in Station 5 as one of the Station-raised generation. Her parents were brought there as young children, also used to life underground. Her dad does odd-jobs; painting, lifting supplies, working with the Pokemon herds, etc, while her mother chose to help the humans as a nurse/pharmacist, prescribing drugs and giving shots to the sick and wounded. Phoebe went to school in one of the many crowded "buildings" made of sheets of metal and plastic. She made lots of friends, both with humans and pokemon. On her fifteenth birthday, Phoebe went down to the local Pokemon shop and traded a bushel of corn ears for Twin the Girafarig. Quite a low price, actually. Girafarigs aren't good for much other than battling. No milk, not too much meat, and not too good for helping carry things. The shopkeep was all too ready to get rid of him.

Phoebe isn't quite sure what she wants to do as a career. She doesn't aspire towards the careers her school prepares children for: trader, doctor, farmer, ranch hand, council member, or breeder. She loves pokemon and people equally. She knows she wants to explore the world and train pokemon, but you can't make much money out of that.

Team:

Twin - Girafarig - Male - Level 5 - Inner Focus
Confusion - Tackle - Astonish - Odor Sleuth

Legendary Egg: Mew
Name: Artyom Chernov

Age: 15

Gender: Male

Background: Artyom grew up in Pallet Town, the tiny point of civilization in a giant desert known as Route 1. His father was a trader, constantly on the road, trading with Stations and trainers for much-needed supplies. Artyom worked on their family's farm instead of going to school, like many of his generation were required. He and his siblings grew the crops needed for their family, while his mother ran the house, fashioning clothes, making dinner, milking their Miltank, etc. When Artyom's birthday came, it was expected of him to leave and make riches out in the world, like the other trainers who left and came back with strong, useful pokemon, and all sorts of luxuries. Artyom wanted to leave and make a name for himself, so he was all too happy to accept six pokeballs, and take his pet Sandile along.

Team:
Sandy - Sandile - Female - Level 5 - Intimidate
Leer - Rage - Bite

Name: David Rustler

Age: 15

Gender: Male

Appearance: David has pale skin, similar to most of the other children in the Stations. He is taller than average, and is a sturdy young man, showing to be in good physical condition. He has dark blonde hair and grassy green eyes, and is almost always seen in the same outfit; His straw hat, a white T-Shirt with a light brown jacket over it, and blue jeans, as well as a pair of black boots that he assumes could trudge through anything. His family ensured he went off prepared with food and water in an average sized bag, but he didn't have access to much else, aside from six Pokeballs and a Pokedex which he honestly doesn't completely understand.

History: David was born in Station 5, To a duo of farmers that worked hard every day. He always had a firm interest in what they did, learning from his father as he grew. School was still there, of course, but his future was pretty much already sat in front of him. He'd gotten along with the kids around the Station, though not really with some of the more bratty types, or bullies. Though he was still young himself, he kept an eye out for the smaller kids and even some of the kids his age, and ensured they weren't picked on, kind of like a big brother.

Sometimes, David would hear the other kids talking about the surface. The thoughts of the outside world slowly edged into his mind over the course of a year. At his current age of fifteen, he consulted his parents about the thoughts, and though his mother seemed worried sick, his pa just laughed and patted him on the shoulder, telling him his life was his own. It was at that moment that David was entrusted with his Father's best friend; a Bidoof named Rupert. David had fooled around with the Pokemon since he was a baby, so they were already close. They were an excellent team in the making, David could feel it. His family packed his bag, and with six Pokeballs and a Pokedex, he was ready to set off at any time.

Team:
Rupert - Bidoof - Male - Level 5 - Simple
Tackle - Growl

Legendary Egg: Azelf

Theme: Scenery Called Everyday
Name: Jezabel Rose

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Appearance:

History: A resident of Pallet Town, Jezabel has always been a sneaky rascal. Ever since she was young, she snatched whatever she wanted. Food, money, pretty much everything that wasn't a Pokemon. (Not worth the effort, in her opinion.) She usually didn't get caught, either. She was good at staying out of sight, and great at slipping away once she got whatever she wanted. Her parents weren't the most responsible couple, or at least never knew enough about what she did to take action against her for it. Her father was a merchant, and her mother was a bartender. They focused more on work than their daughter, which gave Jezabel plenty of chances to slip off and get to snatching things.

At the age of fourteen, Jezabel had slipped up and was caught stealing some chocolate, (Which she may or may not have a mild childish addiction to) and hid in a dark alley to escape the man. It was here she found a rather odd Pokemon, it was dark purple and had odd gemstone eyes that sparkled. It came out of the shadows and approached her, scaring the poor girl at first, until she realized it was actually just examining her. In an attempt to befriend it, she offered some of her chocolate to the small beast. It took a bite, and seemed to like it. Though soon afterwards it started snacking on rocks. How rocks could be better than chocolate, she'd never know.

The two became a pair, and though she didn't have a Pokeball, the Pokemon stayed with her. She became distracted with the Pokemon and actually didn't steal as much, though occasionally she still did it when she desired something. Once she turned fifteen, she knew she wanted to get out of Pallet Town and into the world beyond the walls. She managed to snag a few things for the trip, including finally getting a Pokeball for her Pokemon. Added with what her mother gave her, it equaled out to a week's worth of food and water, a single spare Pokeball, and a knife that belonged to her father. At this point, she felt ready to explore. And possibly find something that'd make her stupidly rich. So she could buy chocolate.

A lot of chocolate.

Team:
Quartz - Sableye - Male - Level 5 - Keen-Eye
Mean Look - Leer - Scratch - Foresight

Legendary Egg: Cresselia

Theme: The Stage Is Full of Miscast People

EDIT: Oh, man. I didn't read your second character yet, I didn't know he had a father that was a trader. Should I change mine? o.O

Without the sableye

Name: Max Vincent Corbin

Nickname: N/A

Age:15

Gender: Male

Personality: Max is protective of his sister. Any time people mess with Lily, Max would pay them a visit. Max has always been a bit violent but he has always been able to control it. Max prefers to be around trouble makers and has been a trouble maker himself. Max often does jobs which are not exactly plesant. He would burn trash or clean up the droppings of trained pokemon. Max rarely sleeps more than five hours a day.

History: Max was born before his sister was and they were both raised in Station 5. Max's mother died from pneumonia when Max and Lily were three years old. Afterwards, the pair were sent to an orphanage and lived there till they were ten. Max started doing odd jobs every now and then so that he could feed his sister. There were weeks when Max rarely slept more than three hours because he had to be up early for a job. There were many times when Max would see his sister handing out food and get enraged at her.

Max has never hurt his sister but there were times when he made her cry because he was angry at her. Eventually, Max stopped to visit their small apartment and instead lived with some friends. He still payed for the apartment Lily lived in and for her food but he found it better to teach Lily how to live alone. Max has started paying Lily a montly allowance for a few months now and hopes that she is doing well.

Lilina is ambitious to prove herself capable and strong so that her brother no longer has to worry about her.

History: After Lily and Max left the orphanage, Lily was mostly out in the streets. While her brother worked to pay for their food and housing, Lily took care of children who lived on the streets. She would bring them food or old clothes she and Max no longer wore. Max would get angry whenever he saw Lily give away their stuff but Lily kept doing it. Eventually, Lily started seeing her brother less and less. After a while, Lily thought her brtoher abandoned her but she started reciveing an allowance from him. Judas “Jude” Rivers
(Jude's Theme)
D.O.B:
September 17th (16 years of age)

Physical Appearance:
Jude is surprisingly not that pale, with a fine complexion. He typically wears a blue scarf, also worn over his mouth and/or nose when in more harsh weather conditions. His clothes perpetually look dark and worn.

Dimensions:
MEDIUM build | 5’11” | 143 lbs.

Bio:
Judas Rivers’ family of four worked a local supplies store in Station 5 ever since his parents arrived in there. Naturally, Jude and his older brother worked there, although Jude hardly ever got front-desk work due to his… illegal nature.

His brother left when Jude turned 16, leaving him completely behind without even a good-bye. Not a day after he left Jude decided he NEEDED to make chase and get his licence. His parents, however, also decided that Jude NEEDED to grow-up before he would even be let out into the wild. Luckily, he managed to snag one with the endearing help of his adult cousin.

Living in Station 5 for his whole life, his excitement to finally leave and go to the surface world was rather intense. With his trusted partner, Rate (whom Jude took from a merchant), he left with harsh words to his (supposed) loved ones. After all, he sincerely thought he would ever willingly meet them again so might as well just say what he wanted to say before never coming back. With nothing more than a bag of supplies and a few pokeballs, his journey to a more fitting and adventurous life began.

Personality:
Having always been a trouble-maker as a child, it was no surprise Jude became a bit of a problem for people. He always said exactly what he thought and what he thought was pretty much evidence of some sort of superiority complex. Everyone was obviously below him and as such he was an entitled and rude bastard. Theft and trickery were his main tricks and that’s essentially all he did until he acquired his license at the age of 16.

Equipment: Judas is armed with only:
- A large tan and grey messenger bag
- A change of clothes (and a towel?)
- A (stolen) Pokedex
- Three Pokeballs, none of which are for Rate
- A sturdy waterbottle attached to his bag
- Some light provisions (food, first aid, etc.)

TEAM:
Rate ♂ [GROWLITHE lvl. 5] [SERIOUS]
[FLASH FIRE]
[BITE] [ROAR]
[CRUNCH] [N/A]

() "This Egg..." [MYSTERIOUS EGG]

DoonNNNEeeeee my first character. I'll try to make the second character tomorrow...

Hey, Sen. I want your opinion on this; What do you think of David and Judas disliking each-other?

I feel as if them taking venomous and sarcastic jabs at each-other would be hilarious.

David seems like someone Jude wouldn't get along with very well, and vice versa. I really doubt many people would really like Judas as he is, but that's what character development's for!

Jude would take jabs at everyone anyway so to have someone to put him in his place would be great.

(also I'm talking with the assumption that I'm accepted which I'm not yet so uhh)

Hold up hold up hold up, let me get this straight. Did you just combine Fallout and Pokemon into one thing?

Probably not but hey it's close enough. Totes going to read through and might probably give you a sign up. I'll let you guys know tomorrow if the idea I have in my head will work for what I'm thinking for this type of setting. If not, oh well, we'll see.
