Name: Thomas Wakefield
Age: 34
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Thomas is a man in his thirties, somewhat average looking with unkempt stubble adorning his face and thinning blondish-brown hair combed off to the right. Thomas boasts a set of very high, pronounced cheekbones and a gaunt face, accented by his ice-blue eyes. Thomas has no noticeable scars or tattoos, his teeth are in good condition and his skin is free of freckles or blemishes, he is featureless so to speak. He is average height, standing at 5'10 inches tall and weighing 170lbs without very broad shoulders or bulky arms. He is commonly seen wearing finely made suits ranging from dark blues to his favorite white Italian apparel. He generally wears a vest with his suit as well as a pocket watch and sometimes a set of open-bottomed sun-glasses.
.
Personality Rundown: Thomas has, since childhood, had a fascination with serial killers, however his interest in killers is a bi-product of his interest in death. He was sent to therapy as a young child when his parents found him examining the corpse of a raccoon he had supposedly killed, though they never found out if he actually did or not. The therapy had a large impact on him, though nobody ever made any progress in decoding his psychological state (If they did they soon found themselves changing details when new evidence was presented) because it was simply too difficult for anybody to understand that Thomas was simply intrigued by death and didn't actually want to cause it. It can be said that Thomas' strongest weakness is his lack of desire to work as part of a team. His other major downfall is his belief that he is considerably smarter than many of the people who surround him. His greatest strength, however, is his genuine interest in the work that he does. It leads him to go the extra mile to ensure that everything he does is done correctly. He is honest, sometimes harshly, and likes to act in a 'classy' manner.

Bio: Thomas was born in Swansea, Wales thirty four years ago to a middle class family. His mother was a stay-at-home mom and his father was a high school Economics teacher and former member of the Royal Navy. They were very loving and enjoyed spending time with their son. They became very concerned for him when he was seven and they found him examining the body of a raccoon that they suspected him of killing. They put him through therapy for several years. The therapist he saw made many theories about what was going on in Thomas' head over the years however the truth was far simpler than anything she had come up with. He just found death to be a fascinating concept, he didn't want to hurt anybody and he didn't want to murder animals he just wanted to examine it. When he was fifteen he decided that he wanted to be a criminal psychiatrist when he realized that he could dig into the minds of people who actually committed crimes involving death and he could learn more about it and about other people who were as interested in it as he was, he went to college for psychology when he was nineteen years old and received his M.D. several years later.

Tragically, whilst in college, both of his parents were killed in a car accident and upon graduating from college Thomas relocated to America to live with his Uncle Michael as he had no way of making it alone in Wales right out of college with all of his student loans to pay back. Three years passed in America before he finally established himself as a psychiatrist and after spending six months in his field he applied to join the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He now works within the FBI as a Criminal Psychologist, he helps analyze a Killer's Modus Operandi and often interviews and psychoanalyzes them for the Bureau. Once he's done that, the evidence he gathers about said killer's mental state can be used to build a case against them.

Notes: Thomas has received several citations throughout his career for insubordination, however he has not received one in the past year. He also wears suits as the FBI asks of him, however he wears brands that he finds suitable and likes wearing vests though they're not exactly encouraged by the Bureau.

Very, very interesting character.

Could I inquire, how long has Thomas been in the Bureau?

I see no reason why Mr.Wakefield wouldn't fit in perfectly here.

Well I did the math, taking into account his age and the time I said he spent in school, college, living with his uncle, and working before joining the Bureau it tells me that he has been in the FBI for six years.

That sounds great.

Consider yourself accepted!

You can put up a sort of preliminary post if you'd like, I'll try to have something up tomorrow. Oh, and let's say that Thomas just got off of leave, so he doesn't have any cases on the docket.

Yes, sir. I wanted an Ouroboros, since it kinda provides an aesthetic metaphor for what I want happening in the IC, and I found that amazing rendition on Deviantart and I couldn't pass it up.

It is a captivating picture I really like it.

Also, I'm not going to read more than the first post of the IC since my character should just be coming into the building for the first time in a couple of weeks so I don't want to tempt myself to meta-game, I'm going to make sure I don't really have any knowledge of what the characters are up to. Unless you want me to of course.

I'm just going to do a post introducing my character, giving some insight into him, and then I'm going to wait for somebody to call me to their office or come see me or something so that I can get into the story. Unless you want me to do something different in which case I'll delete my post and redo it, no big deal.

Do whatever you feel works best for you.

I personally take great joy in thinking of this as a fully collaborative experience. Which, I believe, means that we should share our story as fully as possible. I'd like it if you read everyone else's posts.

Alright I'll read everybodys posts, if you see anything wrong with the one I put up then tell me and I'll rewrite the whole thing if you'd like. I'm not really sure how to do it since I've never started in a roleplay that's already going before. I was kind of going to wait to be approached.
