We've had a lot of Superhero RPs go down the can when things were just getting good, so I've decided to try my hand at running a Justice League roleplay in addition to my other ongoing roleplay (shameless plugs ahoy!), this roleplay will focus on the DCAU incarnation of the Justice League and details the events after the show ended. It'll feature storylines about plot points that were left unresolved by the show, the Thanagarian Resistance, Ra's Al Ghul's Apocalypse, the remnants of the Legion of Doom, and much more.

The choices and actions of the players will determine the outcome of these stories and there will be as much focus on character interaction and development as on action. At the beginning of the RP players will be able to control two characters, those these must be existing DCAU characters for the most part as I find OCs can be somewhat iffy. Although they could be heroes that exist in the DCU such as Katana, Geo-Force, Black Lightning, Zauriel etc. PCs will be deployed on missions of various varieties often simultaneously and the Watchtower will act as a hub and allow PCs to interact with each other, upgrade equipment, and much more. Hopefully this Justice League RP can flourish where others have not. Who would be interested in playing?

How do you feel about villains?

Well to start with you can play characters who aren't the most heroic like Huntress and even... Lobo. But the initial stages of the RP won't allow you to play out-and-out villains.

How about former villains turned hero?

As long as they are an established character who could conceivably exist in the DCAU, like say Cassandra Cain then that should be fine.

I'll do that then. I'd start working on the bio, but it doesn't look like too many people are dying to join this :/

That weird considering people typically flock to these kinds of things.

I just realized that you said we have to play canon characters.

That's probably why no one else has showed up yet. Most people don't like that :/ I know I don't anyway. If you're unwilling to accept OCs, then I'm not too interested.

I'm interested. I actually like the no oc rule. Don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to originals, it's just a nice change.

Metronome, the no oc rule is out of all the issues that have cropped up in RPs that heavily feature established characters, such as the OCs being special snowflakes that often fit poorly within the Universe and often bogging down the RP. Players would be free to take over canon characters and put their own unique twist on them, hopefully balancing individual creativity while keeping the RP focused.

riurik, Thank you, It's just something that could give an RP more direction and hopefully more life as players often get bored with their OCs and then leave massive holes with their absence. We just need handful of other players to get properly started.

Can we use Vertigo characters?

As long as it would make sense for them to be in any way affiliated with the League or even exist in the DCAU. That's the general operating principle for any character really. Shade the Changing Man, Icon, and Amethyst could exist in the RP because they fit those criteria and also fit the tone and atmosphere of the DCAU.

Or alternatively, characters and their background can be altered to better fit in and connect with the DCAU like Amazo's or Hawkman's alternate origins in the show.

Uh, if it's not done really well then no, cause again they clash way too much with the Universe as they are.

Have you read We3? It's written by Grant Morrison, and they are the product of miliary experimentation which could mix with the whole Cadmus and other secret government projects that are in the DCAU

I haven't, but I have heard it's a good series. It simply raises all kinds of head-scratching questions about why the heck Cadmus or any other secret government group would put all the time and effort into doing such a thing. Superman clone? Doomsday Weapon? All sound stuff. Mecha-Animals, not so much. The DCAU isn't like the Brave and the Bold, and all of the more.. outlandish facets of the DCU don't really fit the tone. Shade-strange or Resurrection Man-strange fits the tone but that brand of strange doesn't. By tone, I mean how the DCAU is somewhat more "grounded" in a sense.

By grounded do you mean realistic? Because We3 is fairly grounded and it is very violent. The animals are used in a similar manner to drones as way to not have soldier casualties in battle.

Yog, perhaps I'd just rather you play other characters because it would just be odd to have a dearth of humanoid PCs :P

riurik, Apparently they're part of a Vertigo Mini-series. Out of curiosity which two characters would you think of playing?
