"Oh, you didn't need to return it" Cassandra said, stepping aside to let Kiddo in, "Its just a pen, they're ike a buck at any office store" but she smiled, settling back on her bed. "Oh, no, its okay, I wouldn't want to impose on you, really. I was just wondering if there was a cafeteria in this place somewhere" Cassandra didn't want to just get things give to her, and besides, she had money saved up from working.

Cassandra felt good, and it was nice to try and make friends with others, who wanted to become exorcists, who had some idea of what it was going to be like. She looked over them all, and smiled a small smile, leaning back against the wall again.

She shifted, making sure her glove was on properly, an it wasn't like to fall off. She wasn't too sure how Ren or Kiddo would take to knowing she was half demon, and she didn't want to find out, not today.

"Well its getting pretty late for my tastes." Ren said with a yawn. It wasn't really all too late, but he was anything but lively at this point. Keeping his eyes open was a struggle, and he doubted he'd make it back to his room if he stayed any longer. Gathering up his homework he said, "Thanks for the help Cassandra, Lorenzo. And always nice seeing ya Kiddo. I'll see you all in the morning, yeah?" With that he walked out and closed the door behind him.

Well that was nice, not too sure that Kiddo is fond of me, but the rest are I'm sure. He'll come around though I'm sure. He was used to people seeing his attitude as cocky. He got that from everyone. They brushed him off and tried to ignore him. Mainly because they were annoyed by his rambunctious behavior. He never had too many friends because of it. He just hated being serious. It reminded him too much of the years before school. No. I'm not going to think about that tonight. It's too late for that. It's done anyways. He thought. He realized he was still standing outside the closed door. He hadn't even moved a step. Woah, must really be out of it. And with that he walked down the hallway, descended the stairs and entered his dorm. Immediately walking to his bed not even bothering to take off his clothes he collapsed on his bed falling into a deep, dream filled sleep.

"Are you sure? I mean I can buy you food. My dad sends me like $200 a week. It really isn't that much trouble." Kiddo noted with a smile. "Besides, food isn't really that much." Kiddo noticed Cassandra smile and adjust her glove. "why do you wear that glove? It looks super uncomfortable, if it's to personal sorry for asking. It was kind of a rude question" Kiddo said hoping he didn't upset her.

"Oh and Lorenzo, you're going to try and be a Dragoon right? That's pretty cool. I hope you make it." Kiddo said attempting to make small talk. He wasn't very good at it so it kinda made him feel awkward. Then Ren stood up, said bye and left, before closing the door Kiddo said back, "See you tomorrow Ren, sweet dreams."

Cassandra blinked, not realising that she had been fussing with her glove, and she looked down, biting her lip, muttering a good bye to Ren as he left, hesitating, wondering if she should lie or not, and she eventually sighed, "I was a clumsy child, and an curious one. I split extremely hot water, luckily only getting my hand. The glove protects the skin, which never really healed right" She said, repeating the excuse she had been taught to give. It probably sounded rehearsed, but it wasn't like she could come out and say she was half demon.

She shook her head at the continued offer for food, suddenly not hungry. She felt bitter, and hateful at the fact that she had to lie to potential friends. "no, its okay. I really couldn't take your money, I have some savings" She said softly, falling silent as he began to speak with Lorenzo.

She sighed, and packed her notebook away, taking the pen from behind her ear, and throwing it in the bag, before leaning her sword against the wall by her bed, trying to seem busy and not at all thoughtful.

Lorenzo smiled at his sisters excuse thinking it was better then Lorenzo always saying that he liked acting like a fighter with a glove on. saying goodbye to ren as he left then he turned to kiddo trying to make small talk by asking about Lorenzo wanting to be a dragoon and he nodded "yeah covers all the bases of being a fighter and helps with the way I fight. crazy speed shooting and slicing is kind of my thing" Lorenzo said not wanting to say that if he went berserk again that having a pistol and his sword would mean he would end the fight that much quicker and could try to become himself on his own. if Lorenzo could end a fight quickly then maybe he would be able to sheath his sword on his own before he got to far into his berserker rage at least Lorenzo hoped that this would be the case cause of course this was never tested considering he was never allowed to have a gun before but that's why he was here to learn how to handle using both at the same time

After a while Kiddo got up, the 3 had hung up for a while but it was time for Kiddo to sleep. He had already stayed up past the time he wanted to sleep. Kiddo left with a wave and a smile. Kiddo quietly walked back to his room not wanting to wake anybody up. When arriving he began to write a letter to his dad. He told his dad he would tell him all about the first day at the new school that would basically start and determine the rest of his life. The letter said:

"Dear, Dad

Today was very eventful. It has been pretty hard to adjust, the people here are really nice and it's going to be easy to make new friends, I hope. The homework they gave us was pretty easy, but it is only our first day so it probably should be. And, get this, I borrowed a pen from a girl down the hall in our dorm rooms and as soon as I got back to my dorm I opened my desk and found my pen. It made me feel very forgetful. But anyway, good luck with work and I hope you get that promotion.

Love, Kiddo"

Kiddo put the letter in an envelope and sealed it shut. He then went outside and dropped it in a mail box. Kiddo Smiled on the way back in. Him and his dad were always close, they did everything together. He was a daddy's boy you could say. And, Kiddo had always respected his dad, when Kiddo's mother died his dad kept it together because he knew he had to raise Kiddo. that always made Kiddo respect his father, and Kiddo had grown up being told, Stand up for other people, It'll make them happy and make you happy because you helped them. Kiddo was also told to only worry about himself but he trusted his dad more and Kiddo came to find he found joy in helping people, he found join in taking other's pain. He didn't want people to get hurt. thinking about that topic made Kiddo remember the very first time Kiddo ever stood up for anybody.

He was 6 years old and it had been 2 weeks after his dad told him to stand up for people. He noticed a teen girl getting picked on by some older boys, They were about to beat her up when Kiddo stepped in. Of course he was 6 and they weren't scared of him but he bought her enough time to run before the boys noticed she was gone. But, once the boys did notice they started beating up Kiddo, he took it because he knew it was coming. He knew by letting that girl run he was going to take her pain. Luckily for Kiddo an older man saw what was happening and stopped it before it got really bad. Kiddo then of course thanked the old man and went on.

2 years later Kiddo saw the girl on the subway, he didn't talk to her until she walked up to him. The girl thanked Kiddo and tried to offer him money but Kiddo Declined knowing she was still alive because of him. If he wouldn't have stepped in Kiddo knew she was going to die or face severe wounds, of course Kiddo had a broken bone here and there from getting beat up but he was glad to spare the girl the pain.

Kiddo was in his bed know, smiling at the memory. he knew others would call him stupid for what he did and how he acts but he doesn't care, he just wants to help people. Kiddo drifted off to sleep with a smile.

Cassandra said goodnight to Kiddo when he left, before going about getting ready for bed. She packed away her note back, and set her bag at the foot of her bed, keeping her sword leaning against the wall at the head of the bed.

Cassandra had never shared a room with anyone before. So she wasn't sure of the general rules and etiquette. Mostly she was just aiming for not annoying Lorenzo. She crawled into bed, laying on her back, looking up at the ceiling.

hey mum, why didn't you tell me?. Did you not know? How could you not? she thought to herself, looking over to Lorenzo briefly, before curling under her blanket slightly and pulling it up, over her head, and closing her eyes. Perhaps it was for the best that she hadn't known about Lorenzo, if she had, she was sure he would have died just like her mother, and step father. At least this way, she found herself with someone, and not alone.

It was good not to be alone anymore. She slowly drifted to sleep, muttering a "night" to Lorenzo

Lorenzo said goodnight to kiddo as he left as Lorenzo got up and went to take a quick shower in the locker room and after a few minutes he came back and laid down his sword in the drawer underneath his bed so he hide it in case someone came looking for it but he would still be able to get to it easy. Lorenzo knew now that he wasn't the only one with this kind of a curse, he actually has a sister now. someone he can relate to now, someone he can trust with knowing his secrets and not running away when he talks about it. he can only hope the others will be so understanding when the time come but for now he was to tired to think about it when he heard Cassandra say goodnight he smiled a little and said "night sis" and he fell asleep

it was early in the morning as Lorenzo yawned waking up, apparently he was the first to rise since his sister was still fast asleep Lorenzo never really needed an alarm clock since he was an early bird so he got up and started his usual morning routine. he got up grabbed his school uniform and went to the lockers to shower and change before he went back to grab his stuff for school then a quick breakfast downstairs in the cafeteria. it was a new day for Lorenzo cause this was also his first day with having a sister so now he had to start acting like an older brother......if he actually knew how

Cassandra slept badly, as she had for the last few months, and as such, she was still asleep when Lorenzo woke, but woke herself when he left the room. She blinked, bleary eyes, looking about. She rubbed her eyes, ran a hand through her hair, and rose to get ready.

She showered, and changed, returning to the room to grab her pack and sword, walking down to the cafeteria, she got lost, and had to back track her steps, but that just made it worse. She sighed, looking about trying to find anything that was familiar, that could lead her to somewhere she knew.

She couldn't find anything, so she took out her map and tried to work out where she was, but failed spectacularly at that, so she finally started to walk again, hoping someone would eventually help her.

"SECOND PLACE REN? THAT'S ALL? YOU'RE A DISGRACE! DON'T BOTHER COMING HOME TONIGHT."

"I'm sorry, it wont happen again I promise!" Ren yelled as he shot out of bed. Just a dream? Remembering he was in his dorm, his head shot to his left. Empty, thank god. That would have been embarrassing! He didn't think his roommate, if he even had one, would appreciate the noise this early. He rubbed his eyes and stretched. Sitting up, he shivered. Not from the cold, but from that dream. No matter how many times he had that dream he always reacted the same. He woke up yelling apologies or crying more often than not. The memories were old, but it kept the pain fresh.

That was his life before this place, a life filled with stress, constantly having to please someone. He couldn't stand it, so he jumped at the opportunity to come to Silver Cross. Anything to get away from that. But, the past is the past for a reason. No need to dwell on it. Ren thought standing up from his bed. He started to prepare for the day. He hoped it would go better than the wake up call he had this morning.

Lorenzo finished his shower and soon he went and got changed grabbing his sword and putting it behind his back so he would be ready if he needed it. once he got his school stuff he started to walk downstairs to get his breakfast and obviously he spots his sister getting lost so when he walked by he patted her shoulder "follow me to the promised land" Lorenzo joked meaning to the cafeteria since he walked past it when he first came to the dorm he lead the way down to bottom floor and the cafeteria where their was food already prepared for everyone on the counter near the kitchen so Lorenzo grabbed a plate and sat down at a table putting his hands together and saying "thanks for the food" before he started to eat waiting for his sister and everyone else to come down so they could walk to class together

Cassandra was relieved as Lorenzo found her, and leaped at the opportunity to be led out of the confusing halls, towards the cafeteria. She eagerly grabbed some food, realizing that she hadn't eaten at all the day before, except for breakfast. She whoffed the food down m as quick as she could without chocking and didn't care about looking lady like. That was one things about Cassandra.

Beyond not wanting to be judged for being half a demon, she didn't give a damn what people thought about her. When she finished, she tied her wet hair, from the shower, back, deciding not to go to the trouble of drying it and of making it look perfect.

She wondered what was in store for them today, and took her notebook out to make sure she had done the home work right, tucking her pen behind her ear, as she munched on an apple. She looked up at Lorenzo, and smiled, "did you sleep well?" She asked

"Of course!" Ren said while sitting down. He shot a smile at Lorenzo, knowing it probably pissed him off a little. "How about the twin swords here? Good I hope? I'm still pretty shot from yesterday even so." Ren lied about his sleep, but he genuinely did hope these two had a good rest.

He lifted his fork to his mouth and took a bite, he saw a scar forming on it where the goblin had bit him. Hmmm... Well that's an unsightly thing. He looked over to his classmates and noticed that they both wore gloves over one hand. "Hey... Is that for your scar from getting a Temptaint? That's such a good idea! I was just thinking how ugly this scar is. Gross, messing up my perfect body. I think I'll get one myself! So stylish! I'm personally thinking red." He rambled while stuffing his face.

Cassandra gave Ren a smile, "You're a shocking liar Ren" She said, "I slept about as well as I have for the last few months, so crappily" She said, as she bit into her apple, chewing thoughtfully, "I think you worry too much about your looks. Have you seen an exorcist without a scar?" She asked rhetorically, "Even Oliva has one, that can be seen. On her arm, just here" She said, pointing to halfway up her own arm "As for my hand, I got burned badly as a kid" She decided to just go with the same lie she had with Kiddo, "Glove protects my skin"

She finished her apple, and made a note in her homework, leaning back, satisfied with it, she nodded. and packed it away, taking a drink of water, she pushed her finished food dishes away, and checked on her sword, "I use to go about without the glove on, but that proved too painful, and its kind of scarred, so I started to wear a glove. Most people think I'm mental, wearing on glove, but it works" She shrugged.

Lorenzo ignored him smiling glad he thought that we had scars from out temptaint instead of birthmarks we were trying to hide so it might as well play out in the long wrong until he knows the truth about us "like you had a good body to begin with" Lorenzo said grinning at his witty comeback for stealing his question from his sister as he ate slowly so he could enjoy his food smiling at his sister seeing her scarf down whatever wasn't nailed down it wasn't ladylike but who was Lorenzo to judge on that. right now Lorenzo just concentrated on eating and giving a comeback to whatever smart ass comments ren was willing to make at his expense

Kiddo sat up, feeling lazy. He threw on his glassesand combed his hair, he didn't feel like taking a shower or putting in his contact lenses like he was wearing the day before. He put on some jeans and black V-neck. Kiddo put his ring on his finger, his necklace on of course his neck and lastly his pocket watch in inside pocket of his leather jacket. His jacket was a nice black leather with some white strips and the shoulders. He loved it. Kiddo grabbed his sword and back pack and walked to the cafeteria.

Half asleep he almost went the wrong way a couple times, It wasn't that he slept bad it was that he slept to good. He slept like a baby, his muscles didn't feel tense, which was good. Finally arriving at the Cafeteria he spotted Ren, Lorenzo and Cassandra through the crowd of kids filling their stomachs. Kiddo went over to the coffee machine and filled up a cup, added a little sugar and creamer then got some bacon. He then made his way over to the the table. "Hey, guys." Kiddo said. The tone of his voice indicated he was still half asleep. His voice wasn't happy and cheery just yet, it was early. "Did you all sleep well?" Kiddo asked taking a drink of his coffee.

Well that makes me feel stupid. Ren thought as he heard Cassandras explanation. Apparently it wasn't from a Temptaint. Lorenzo just brushed it off with a sarcastic comment that made Ren smirk. He kind of liked the back and forth they had going. "Well sorry to hear that Cassandra. I didn't know. I still think I'm going to get one even so... We should make Kiddo get one as well. Then we'd all match!" He said excitedly. As he finished his sentence Kiddo walked over and sat down. "Speak of the devil! And so he shall appear! Hey Kiddo!" The tiredness washed away from him as he ate and talked. He started to like these people more and more.

As well as to be expected if a hard first day" Lorenzo said smiling to kiddo as he finished up his breakfast putting it away near the kitchen as he listened to ren go on the guy was a regular chatter box never shutting up but it's not like Lorenzo didn't like the back and forth they had going on "let's hurt guys don't want Olivia to scold us on the second day" Lorenzo said smiling as he walked out of the cafeteria waiting fit them outside the dorm

Cassandra shrugged, wincing to herself as she realised that she would, eventually, have to state the lack of absence of a scar from a temptaint eventually, and then what was she going to say? She glanced to Lorenzo, knowing it was harder for him to hide what they were, then for her at the moment. She looked up as Kiddo joined them, gave him a smile, "Good morning. Class will start soon" She said, as she rose, gathering her things, shouldering her pack, and sling her sword across her back, "I'm going to head to the classroom, just in case I get lost again" She said, taking her empty food tray, and returning it to be cleaned, before heading out the cafeteria.

She made her way to the classroom easily enough, settling in the same seat she had chosen yesterday, taking out her things, and placing her sword leaning against her desk, as she waited for the others, and Oliva to show.

"Well Ren I guess it's me and you now". Kiddo said standing up and throwing his coffee cup away. Ren of course got up and followed. They met Lorenzo outside the dorms and they all walked to class together. "Why were you guys talking about me before I came to the table?" Kiddo laugh. "I heard Ren say speak of the devil. What was that about? am I already getting talked about behind my back?" Kiddo said jokingly. Kiddo knew they wouldn't do that, they all were very nice and Kiddo knew he was going to be very good friends with them all. He might not be able to stand Ren and his comments sometimes, but he knew he would get used to them.
