Ren sat in silence as Kiddo explained what had happened. He sipped his coffee that Kiddo had handed him, while contemplating what had happened and what could be the cause of events that had just unfolded. It seemingly made sense to him that Koltar had been swarming over his unconscious form, given the nature of day dream, or maybe a trance that had befallen over him. One fact just didn’t stick though.

“So, Kiddo, it was just Koltar? Nothing else?” He was bewildered at the thought of being overcome by such low ranking demons. Yes, they had learned in class that they swarm to negative feelings, and what he had felt definitely fell into that category. The thing he didn’t get is how had he spiraled that far out of control, to the point of being unconscious and unknowing of his movements.

“It doesn’t make sense Kiddo, if it were just the Koltar, I should have been able to see them and react. I wasn’t in a present state of mind and was completely unaware of my surroundings. Something else happened to me between the time on the train and the hotel. We need to be more careful than before, at least until we know what we’re dealing with. Maybe even more so once we do.” Ren sighed after his speech. It’s just always something isn’t it?
hahahahahahahahahah what the hell angel.

btw, ill post in everything tonight. Ill get some length to it.
So this is power?..

For the first time since his death Tetsuya felt good. No, not good, he felt great. The power flowed through him uncontained. His arms and legs felt lighter than normal, and he could feel the muscles around his body pulsate with the beats of his heart. The physical changes were not the only things that he noticed were different. His mental powers as well were increased. He could think, hear, and see better than ever, along with one other new ability. The ability to sense life, and energy in his immediate area.

He watched the ice witch attack Lorenzo, he was fine with her going first. He wanted to revel in his new found power for a while anyways. He wanted to adjust and think of how to get that same effect he had on the dummy. This time though, he planned to amplify that strength. Many, many, times.
He's really not messing around. He seems like he has a switch he can just flip on and off at will. Emi couldn't believe the speed and power Kenji had just demonstrated. If he had finished his strike, she would be dead. She didn't doubt from the start that he could kill her, but she had no idea it would take that little effort. What did he say again? Just fight? She pondered it while pacing to the side while Kenji observed her next move, he looked unamused. Instincts. She thought of her beloved Tetsuya, and what she had went through to get here. So much pain on both sides, so much anger. She channeled those emotions into what she was about to do.

She charged towards Kenji, her footsteps were flame. Her soul was fire. She would burn him. She would maim him. She would kill him.
Ren broke out of his inner trance, and saw Kiddo standing over him. He was in a completely different place than when he had originally thought. How did I get here? Was I really out that long? These thoughts frightened Ren, he had moved without being conscious of it. All that had occurred in the time past had not been himself. It had him confused, and as stated earlier, extremely frightened.

"Yeah Kiddo, I'm fine, I just don't really know what's going on I guess. Last thing I remember was the train ride." Ren said as he reached up to grab his friends hand. He hefted himself off the ground with a little more effort than usual. Apparently that little internal struggle took a lot out of me. Ren let out a sigh and placed a hand on his head. 'What the hell was all that even about.

"Kiddo, was there anything strange about me in here? Besides the obvious, of course."
Yeah, that's kinda what I was waiting for... but I'll edit it tomorrow and change it to match.
Invariant, check yo PM's!
"I'll let you swing for the fences, but don't go overboard champ. I might have to bench you." Ren smiled. His family's almost as messed up as mine. I feel for him, I mean, they sound like dicks. I can't just let Kiddo pound the piss out of some kids that can't defend themselves. He sighed. This... will be interesting, to say the least.

And with that thought Ren boarded the train to Kiddo's family circus. Weird feelings popped up into his head as he boarded, thoughts of his own home, and his own family. He couldn't say he was glad for them. The images and memories that he had thought were forgotten flooded back, overwhelming him. He turned to Kiddo and whispered, "I'll be right back, man, I... I just need a minute ok?"

He half sprinted to the bathroom, and slammed the door shut as he blew past it. Sitting himself down, he rested his head in-between his legs and curled his hands over his head, and tried to think of better times. The terror that had gripped him in those dark times reinstated itself in his heart, and in his mind. It took ahold of his thoughts and drove ice into his heart. No, please no. It was like a movie playing in his mind, but he couldn't pause it, or even look away.

So, he watched.

He watched as his younger self turned the corner into his parents room. He cried out inwardly as he saw his mother hanging there, just as he had so many years before. The anguish and guilt rushed over him as his previous self collapsed to his knees and wept. Ren wanted to tell him that it wasn't his fault, and that it'd be alright, but terror replaced any other feeling soon enough.

That look.

The look of a demon. The rage, the pure fury. It swallowed him up, and he was petrified. He was tossed around the room as his father ranted. He bled, and was bruised, but nothing hurt him more than the hurt he felt in his heart. The loss of a loved one, bears more pain than any wound he could have received that day. He blacked out, soon after and when he woke, he walked into the kitchen, devoid of emotion. He was a blank slate, he saw his father there, collapsed upon the table. A revolver in hand. Ren walked up to his unresponsive father and grabbed the pistol, cocked it, and fired, but the gun was dry. So there he sat. Next to his parents. No more tears were wept. No words were said until a mailman came and saw him through the window.

Ren sat in the bathroom in the train, just like he had after that day. Unmoving. Like a blank slate.
"Yeah Lorenzo, you need to keep her under control. No telling what she could do if she couldn't keep that crazy side behind bars." He stated to his friend. "Besides, me and Kiddo can handle ourselves, I think. I'll look out for the little guy." Winking at the joke, and laughing to himself slightly. The joke was to mainly put Lorenzo off guard and to help convince him the threat was minor, even though it could be much greater than he ever imagined. It was hard to tell what would happen, would they be attacked or would it go back to normal. Either way they all had to prepare for the worst, it wouldn't be good to be caught on your heels in a situation like this. The difference between life and death could ride on this very decision, and Ren tried not to think about it. He knew that the best be they had though, was having Lorenzo with Cassandra, to protect Lilly, the new student that barely knew anything yet. He wasn't even sure if she could defend herself. The chivalrous side in him couldn't stand to see women in harms way.

He put an arm on Lorenzo's shoulder and said calmly, "I know you don't care for Hax, but you should really try to work with him. It'd provide an even number of people, so we don't have to be alone. An extra set of eyes and ears, well in his case, swords as well, wouldn't hurt. I don't want anyone to get hurt out of this little ordeal, so we need to be prepared for anything. Like I said before, no one will get the jump on us. Just watch out for the girls alright?"
Hey guys, been busy starting up college and whatnot, now that I'm back in the swing of things I'll post more often.
“This was so worth coming to.” Saru whispered under his breath gleefully. The comment was to no one in particular, but after watching the last match between Kita and Captain Masumata, he felt the exclamation was necessary. The outcome of the match was not one to be expected, but it goes to show, hakuda is all about small openings and fast reactions. A contest where anyone with skill, accompanied by a little luck, can conquer, and conquer was what Saru planned to do.

The trophy last year had gone to his own barracks last year, and it would be shameful if it were to leave its rightful place so soon. So, with Saru being the only competitor from Squad Two in the competition, it was all up to him. The anxiety had hit him as soon as he heard the captain or lieutenant wouldn't be attending, but if there was one thing he had learned from years of constant pressure. That if you smile while nervous, it tends to turn into excitement. Saru wasn't sure if his grin could get any wider.

Although he had pre-match jitters, he happened to be one of, if not the best practitioners of hakuda in his squad. He had practiced it ever since youth, and through all those years came skill and confidence that were unmatched by most. His technique was solid, movements were precise, and speed was more than impressive. If Saru called any place home, it was a sparring ring. ”Is it time yet? I’m going to explode from this constant waiting”
I can’t believe that asshole left me in charge.” Hebi pouted while bringing his fist across a rowdy prisoners face, sending him to the floor near the pile of other unconscious bodies. “I get that he’s better than me, but it’s not my job to control this rabble.

Saru had left for “important business” or so he had said. "It was probably that damned tournament, now that I think about it." Only saying a few words before he dissipated, and left Hebi in charge of the Nest of Maggots, a type of prison for potential threats to the Soul Society and its inhabitants. The inmates were all considered dangerous, some were even ex-shinigami. A had been in for ages, while more were newer to the cave like setting the now dwelled in. The latter provided much more “attention” than the inmates who had accumulated a longer stay. They still hung onto hope that they would escape, and caused trouble for any who entered, so Saru had taken to beating the living hell out of them every day as their rehabilitation, and for a nice morning exercise.

Today though, Hebi ran rehabilitation services for his elder brother. Even though Saru could immediately destroy him, these ex-shinigami stood little chance. Lazy or not, he was a Feng, and hakuda was prioritized. Which made Hebi a perfect replacement for the third seat when he wanted to go on little outings and shirk his duties. He hated it almost as much as he hated his brother. I hope he gets his ass kicked today, he more than deserves it.
