For the members of this roleplay, expect the game to start this Monday night as I work all weekend, starting Friday. I'll post the result of the rolling as well for the opening.

Once the last character is posted, I'll start working on the actual initial post, just a notice for the participants of this topic.

On another note, feel free to include a link to your character's image if appropriate in their topic (Jacob Schmidt's is a reasonable example) - I was primarily more referring to avoiding anime-ish art but never specified that now that I've re-read it. I myself included a sketch done of my character's alternate form.

I advise everyone reads over the profiles to know as players how to treat things (self implosion of a group is never fun) between characters and still enjoy themselves.

I was wondering if there will be a posting order? Also, what is a reasonable amount of time that we could be given to respond before we are removed from the roleplay? That is unless you don't want to do something like that of course. I just figure from what I've seen in the past it's best to keep some deadlines unless you want everyone to be waiting on someone who just decided to drop out without warning.

Also, how long do you expect this roleplay to last? I'm very much hoping for something long term if this turns out to be as interesting as I think it will. I know that dragging things out isn't always the best though.

Again I'm very excited to get started and personally I can't wait to get into the story! :)

Players should be posting at least two to three times a week with at minimum, two to three solid paragraphs; multiple sentences, detail, explanation, interaction, what have you. While characters won't "die" they'll simply vanish as if they had other matters to attend to if they disappeared for a long period - I'll simply just move them along as the gamemaster and away from the other players. That said, given my schedule, players should post roughly every two days. This is largely because I work pretty extensive hours, but what time I have off I can write in.

This roleplay will hopefully go for as long as people want it to and for as long as I can allocate time to events happening, which is easy enough since things are randomly occurring and or solving themselves on their own given the dice playing a factor.

In short, a few things I think are worth making just into bullets:

  • Post at least twice a week as people are waiting on you. Fail to do so, get skipped. Disappear too long on the forums, disappear in game.

  • Post a solid two to three paragraph post; I get this isn't always easy or practical, but you can still note events or take a twist on what someone else says and elaborate.

  • If two characters are going back and forth in discussion, that's fine, but if someone interrupts in between, don't skip over them; include them because they're trying to include you.

  • Don't try to hustle events - let me try and play them out as a game master otherwise things are just going to fly by. Feel free to keep a plot moving however, just not pushing it.

The only reason we're not starting this weekend is that I am working from Friday to Sunday, with Monday being my first day off (and I work on a night schedule).

The first post is up, essentially giving some current backstory and motivation, and giving the characters a chance to meet by a twist of fate on truly neutral ground. Enjoy, and I look forward to seeing your posts.

I suppose it doesn't make much sense to wait on the vampire in daylight. I'll post tomorrow

Her profile has not yet been approved and I've seen no edits on it, so it is safe to proceed for the time being. If she's approved at a later date, I'll work her into the story.

It is only fair to us as players that the established deadline be followed so we can enjoy ourselves without finding our current group left hanging.

I'm sorry I'm not posting tonight, but was wondering if we can coordinate like, how we interact in here, before I post something? Do you want Jacob to just walk up to Asher, and be like "I know" and just go outside to talk to him. Spill coffee? Come over and just sit down and talk? I'd prefer to plan this out instead of just freestyling, and waiting for the next person to post to actually initiate the conversation, or something. August could possibly eves drop? If you guys have any better ideas, please, let me know, as I feel like mine are kinda weak, and thats why i'm asking.

In all truth it is however the character would like to approach is my opinion. Jacob, as a lycanthrope, can roughly "sense" Asher as a zoanthrope even though he is not a lycanthrope; it is an uncanny sense of something is off or different, that not everything is in order. One could attribute this general "knowing" to subtle things humans regularly don't utilize to such an extent like scent, or even posture. Small details like a zoanthrope's faint gold to their iris near their pupil are other subtle, otherwise unusual qualities another zoanthrope might accidentally pick up on. It isn't a supernatural sense, it is just an extent of unusual familiarity. In the case of August, a zoanthrope could find subtle clues about her scent, mannerisms, and the like unusual but not in a sort of familiar way - just a sense something is off.

Digressing back to the point, I am not of the belief that it should be upfront and direct - just small things. The spilling of coffee, accidentally bumping into each other, a minor traffic accident in the parking lot, all sort of normal interaction. It could also just be as direct as Jacob staring at Asher or August, or giving either of them an unusual friendliness or approach, or doing the exact opposite and being uncharacteristically cold because that unusual feeling he'd receive about either is perhaps unnerving.

At very worst if neither character opt to interact, I as the game master will just conjure up an accident (or incident) of the same level I described to sort of steer the characters into one another, even literally if need be. All in all, however you think Jacob as an individual would react to Asher or August is best given it is your turn to post, provided it isn't disruptive (as that isn't befitting of his aforementioned and described personality).

Yes, that they are, and one slot remains; the first individual to be approved can fill that final slot as it is "first come, first served".

There is one slot open for the last and final approved character. Thus far no one has applied.

Here is my character sheet. Let me know anything that needs changed. Please forgive typos and such. I was forced to type this up on my phone.

In general my request is that you add more detail as to why. For example, what exactly makes him depressed; what was the exact scenario that happened prior to his suicide that drove him that far, and why did he rise as a Revenant? How does he contend with an addiction that can no longer give him his high, as his biological functions have ceased?

Given you wrote this on a phone, it isn't bad at all. I would just like to know more about the character and who and why Wraith exists as well.
