"Oh, well, please don't call me "sir". Makes me feel old.", said Hugo, slightly taken back by how direct the girl's answer was. "The name's Hugo. I've been here for several days, but somehow missed the whole welcome committee." Hugo let out a slight chuckle, trying to make it clear that was supposed to be a joke. "Are you familiarize with Last Hearth at all?"

"No I am not kinda new here too I'm Max sorry about the Sir thing" she laughed slightly putting the goggles on her head to see him better.

Savo Time to go to Hell

As he continued moving through the streets, he wondered where he would go from here. Would he stay with this solemn community, would he leave for somewhere else, or would he fall by another human beings hand before either of those two would happen. "(It's too early to be thinking about things like that... However,)" the boy thought to himself. "(I want to see my old house, and see how bad of a condition its in... Maybe I can head there some time while scavenging.)" As he continued on down the streets, he noticed a few different people that piqued his interest.

"(Maybe I should socialize.... I haven't talked to a single person ever since I came here.)" Sven came to New Hearth at least ten hours ago, and has been wandering the streets for quite some time. "(The more allies I make, the better chance that I can trust someone.)" As he looked at the few people of this community, he decided to go talk to a man who looked like he was in his sixties and a younger looking girl.

"(How should I greet them without looking rude,)" Sven quietly contemplated to himself. First impressions to him defined how a person would see you, no matter how much the person changed. He sighed before deciding to just walk up to the two and say hello to them both as a start. "(Hope I'm not butting in on them...) Hello," Sven said walking up to the two.

"Hey there" Max said to the guy walking up to her and Hugo.

Well, busybody was a reputation he could live with, even appreciate so long as it didn't turn into people getting jealous. Still better to just go it normal until it was over. The happiness coming from the woman was strange, if he was more judgmental he'd call it off putting but as it was she just felt incongruous with the desolation and depression of the recently trodden over world. They hadn't even properly lost water and electricity in some places he'd seen, the luckier ones, but it was already down to their loose little commune of strugglers. It wasn't even sad at this point, or maybe her smile was just infectious. "Boston," he said, miming the accent everyone in Oklahoma assumed he would have. "I liked it better where there was water around." He was stopped when a third person walked up to their group. He lamented the attention but in some way... it almost reminded him of standing around the water cooler. George played along. "Hello to you too," he said to the newcomer, "George Walsh, pleased to meet you," he stuck his hand out to shake. The boy looked much younger than him, but was plenty taller, something he was used to.

"Well Max", said Hugo, "I'll keep looking around, try and find out what's the deal with these place. If you want to come along, you're more than welcome."

With those words, Hugo started walking towards the gate. Maybe one of the guards would know something.

Max shrugged slightly and followed him.

Derek had just arrived in Last Hearth, the gates still closing behind him, and already he didn't like the place. It just felt like too many people were happy. Like they were blissfully ignorant of the struggles going on outside their own community. He had been on the road since the cities were first evacuated, and in that time he had learned that no matter where you are, you were always at risk nowadays.

His attention turned to the blood dripping off of his buzz axe, and he wondered why he hadn't cleaned it off immediately, instead of strapping it to his waist right away. He undid the clasp holding the weapon in place with one hand while he grasped the grip with the other, then adjusted his hold on it. By pulling the motorcycle handbrake he started the blade spinning, causing the blood on it to fly off due to centrifugal force.

Weapon now clean, Derek went looking for a job to do. Cash was still king nowadays, those lucky enough to have it were always better off than the rest, and that was the way he wanted to live. He just had to earn it first. Off to his side, Derek heard someone talking about getting a group together for some kind of supply run.

Could be lucrative if I found some nice weaponry to sell... He thought to himself. Deciding on joining this group, he began walking over to the male.

"Hey there. The name's Gantz. I overheard that you were looking to get group together, and I wanted to let you know that my services are for sale. I've survived a few trips into the cities and I'm still alive, that's testament enough to my ability. If I'm right, and I usually am, I'm your best hope in the way of protection."

'piter patter' was the sound Charles heard from his house. 'piter pater' was the dividing line between a good shot and a poor shot. 'pitter patter' the only thing stopping him from a kill.

from his small apartment block over looking the new haven complex he had a rather good view. shame that the rain was clouding the scope of the rifle. "come on, where are you?" he searched through the crowds looking for a human. any human he could find would do the job just fine, he checked the gate for the 5th time this day to find a man standing there seemingly yelling at some unseen man behind the tree blocking a perfect view.

"he'l do just fine" he lined up the sights and prepared to pull the trigar.
