Name of nation: Vedian CommuneSpecies: The Vedians, a peaceful race of magically inclined beings with an average lifespan of 750 years. A tall and skinny species with grey leathery skin, yellow bulb like eyes and no hair on any part of their body. With no mouth, they communicate entirely telepathically and can even use their telepathic abilities to manipulate people, although this doesn't work on hiveminds. Vedians oppose violence but are not pacifist, willing to fight to defend themselves in the event that they are attacked. Their primary objective is to create a strong network of political alliances to deter any who plan to attack them, although Vedians prefer to keep themselves out of any conflicts that are initiated by their allies.Their homeworld (and only world) is the large planet of Auzhan.Description of government: The Vedian Commune is ruled by an unknown entity known as Zoram who has telepathic connection with any one who is on Auzhan as well as those who are nearby the planet. A council is responsible for organizing the food and water supplied to local citizens, each council responsible for one region of the planet. All councils are governed by the Supreme Council, an organization who's members are chosen directly by Zoram himself, only being replaced if a member dies. Any citizen who wants to join a local council may apply to be elected, with a new local council election happening every 5 years. All policies are decided by Zoram. All supplies are magically created by a volunteer workforce, with the planet having run dry of resources long ago. Citizens who do not work receive supplies for free, although slightly less than those on the council, in the military or workforce. Voting in local council elections is compulsory. Description of military: The Vedian Commune utilizes offensive magic rather than weapons, with no weapons ever having been made in the history of the Vedian Commune. During schooling, all citizens of the Vedian Commune are taught to use offensive magic to ensure that they are ready in the event of an attack, with the standing army being almost entirely made up of military researchers who attempt to discover the secrets of greater offensive spells. Since the majority of citizens remain unemployed, drawing up an army quickly is easy.History: Auzhan was once a lush and beautiful land covered with trees and grasslands, with the Vedians being a small primitive tribe that suffered constantly from raids by hostile wildlife. However, the tribe fell under the influence of Zoram at a point when they were almost destroyed, causing their innate magical energies to be unlocked. Using their new abilities, the Vedians exterminated all hostile wildlife and began using magical abilities to synthesise construction materials and building a massive city raised above the ground that soon grew across the planet, transforming Auzhan into an ecumenopolis.Beneath the city lies an overgrown forest that is teeming with natural wildlife. Expeditions down into the forests are rare, with the Vedians deciding that they would rather expand their influence to the stars. If only they could unlock the secrets of space travel...( I never was very good at apps and this isn't a great one. But then again, it's about the RP, not the app.

I was in response to the LCF's use of Draconians.

Those were alternate universe Draconians, being used by the mirror universe counterpart to the old Earth Alliance. Lakfakalle has nothing to do with it.

BS Wilson
The Supremes do not have any warp research because they have never encountered chaos before. They can't possibly know of the warp/

Warp is the old-way to getting from one place to another, is it not? It is, after all, warping... and at one point, everyone warped. Even Draconians.

Unless you decided to make something completely different under the exact same name, in which the fault is not mine.

The warp in this case is a parallel dimension thing ruled by the chaos gods

A parallel dimension ruled by gods of chaos? We no longer have the right to call this a Sci-Fi RP.

This is a different warp. With the old warp, I don't remember peoples ships being eaten by it or their souls being sucked out and tortured or coming back cursed with mutations and the next black death...

We had magic and Faust the goddess a long time ago, this is basically sci fi fantasy lol

This community seems kind of toxic, half of this OOC is just a massive argument about whether or not [OP WEAPON] could reasonably destroy [OP DEFENSE].

>Claims Warhammer 40k warp travel means the RP is no longer sci-fi.

>Fails to realize entire RP lost its sci-fi title long ago, considering magic is present, while his own nation is literally comprised solely of magical telepathic aliens that can control the minds of others.

"Void of the Stars II: Return to the Stars [Sci-Fi] [Always Accepting]"
That looks like a Sci-Fi title to me, mate. Not to mention my nation is only entirely magic because I considered it less out there than some other things that have happened.

So you complain about the RP losing its science fiction premise, but then you decide to add a magic-orientated nation and species to the roleplay?

I wasn't complaining about lack of sci-fi, just that we still call ourselves sci-fi

Yeeeeeeeeeah. It's like saying Star Wars is bad because the Force is too close to magic, then making a Jedi OC. To be honest, we do kind of need to change the title from Sci-Fi to Science Fantasy.

Of course, all these Gods and Goddesses are actually extradimensional beings, and magic is basically the force. Honestly, we're just not sure what to classify it as. You see, it's been my policy to never reject something based on how strange it is, but only based on whether or not it will disrupt the RP with OP power levels.

The Supremes haven't intervened or identified much of anyone. The Equestrians are about as clear as a floating ball of light in a dark room, while everyone else is more or less shadowy figures, besides the Triarians and humans.

Just a word of warning with the Embassy treaty thing

The party owning the Embassy should not be able to choose what planet. That'd give them free reign as to what systems that they can legally say "I can be here" without punishment or somestuff. While the Equestrians might not think of it, one could set up an Embassy on, say, a very important industrial planet, and then some time later, after more negotiations, the person with the embassy may decide to attack. With access to one of the pre-existing big-and-important industrial nodes, they'd have a major source of information, assuming that when a ship is built, it comes standard with galactic maps, planet locations, etc., which would lead an attacker to not only have a brand-nes industrial planet, but also where all the other ones are.

That is, unless you don't just have different planets make different parts and then throw them across the galaxy, which would be expensive, since I don't think light-travel would be CHEAP, especially with big cargo, to assemble somewhere else, and then to go elsewhere for each bit of information to upload into the ship database.

Or I'm entirely wrong, in which case, you can ignore me.

Apologies for the lack of posts, I promise that tomorrow I will put up a nice, long one. It might take me all day to write a good post, but I'll do it.
