I can think of a good explanation for why they would still make that program. Of course, Srath himself wouldn't be aware of it.

As long as it is the human government sending him, it makes sense for him to be there. The initiative itself is not secret per ce, but neither is it advertised to the public, at least not at the current, early stage.

Sweet cheers elite, in that case he's mostly there for good relations between the initiative and UN since he's semi famous and it looks better sending a well known person than a random bod sort of thing. I'll give it a little edit in a minute :)

EDIT: Also of course he is there for if and when we have to deal with press ;)

Name: Dr. Natalia “Coin” Ricard

Species: Human

Height: 5’7

Age: 34

Gender: Female

Appearance:

Equipment: Coin’s weaponry is vaguely based off of standard issue UN weaponry, though she has made so many modifications and improvements to them they might as well be of her own design.

Her rifle has been stripped down to its basic parts and rebuilt almost completely from scratch. Firing standard 5.56 rounds at 2200 rpm in two round burst fire at almost 1500 meters per second with an effective range of just under a 1000 meters, the weapon is extremely lethal at medium to long range. In order to maximize the range of the weapon, Coin has attached a 4x scope, as well as modifying the underside of the body of the weapon completely, replacing the underbarrel rail with an integrated angled grip. The scope itself has a targeting computer built into it, providing a firing solution taking into account any environmental effects. With a limited magazine size of 16 rounds, Coin finds herself making shots count more often or reloading frequently.

Coin’s sidearm has received similar treatment to the rifle. Packing seven .22 rounds and firing them as quickly as the user can pull the trigger, the sidearm is remarkably powerful with almost zero recoil. However, the weapon is also limited on range, with an effective firing range of barely 40 meters.

Skills/Abilities: Coin is an avid believer in the age-old idiom, “knowledge is power.” She is a scientist before a soldier; her combat skills are slightly below par, but her intelligence and mental ability are unmatched. Having extensively studied weapons design and human psychology with a brief stint in studying the cultures of nonhuman sentient species, Coin is valued for her expertise in a non-combat role.

However, Coin is still more skilled than most on the battlefield. She has been given crash courses in special forces training; she is skilled with a weapon and has standard understanding of combat tactics, but is by no means an all-star soldier.

Background: Raised on a military base on Earth with an army veteran in her father, Coin’s entire world has always been related to the military. Her father had her learning military history and the basics of how to operate and manipulate small arms weaponry at age four.

By her teenage years, Coin was modifying her own firearms. Many of her modifications were minor, but often caught the attention of the officers of the base she lived on. Following in her father’s footsteps, she enlisted on her eighteenth birthday, but her commanding officers had different plans for Coin than a standard army service. Her weapons modifications caught the eye of UN special forces groups, and they wanted to take full advantage of her brain rather than put her to work as a soldier.

Coin was put through college for the next ten years, focusing her talent with weapons design and receiving a Masters degree in mechanical engineering. Her thesis paper for her doctorate explored the integration of magic in modern human weapons systems; although no substantial steps were made, the doors were opened for potential study. During her time studying for weapons design, Coin also spent time studying human psychology as well as nonhuman cultures, diversifying her intellectual arsenal.

At the end of her collegiate stint, 28-year-old Coin’s career took her to space. She served on a number of ships over the next six years, her roles varying from being the ship’s quartermaster to working in the ship’s tech bay on high-end weapons modifications. During this time, she received substantial military training, further rounding out her skillset.

As for why she's called Coin, let's just say she had a bad incident with weapons design during college. There was a projectile weapon, a coin, and a professor may have lost a couple fingers.

Just so you know only about ~5% of the Sovereign military uses magic. I'm pretty positive that the Rothian millitary is either more than that or equal.

It's only 5% of Rothians in the OP, though now that I've actually checked it doesn't actually mention how many species within the Sovereignty can use magic.

Well that's the only way I could think of getting him the armor that made sense. If you have a different idea I'll gladly change the bio.

I think it would be best if I didn't say the reason yet. They would still say it is for the same reason.

It won't take that long. Maybe a day or two, probably sooner. Just want to give everyone a reasonable chance to figure out their bios.

Also, just added all the bios so far to links in the OP.

Here is my CS for approval. Btw, Opus is meant to be a Black Ops kinda mysterious character, hope that is ok :L

Name: [REDACTED], Call Sign “Opus”

Species: Dirophyd

Height: 5’6”

Age: [REDACTED]

Gender: Male

Appearance:
Opus’ face is completely concealed by his breathing apparatus, which is a full face mask with a single round porthole, capable of cycling various visual modes indicated by a change of color (colour changes can also reflect a change of emotion, or several other actions). He is typically only seen in his armor, as it houses most of his life support systems that stop him from collapsing. His horns are quite small and rounded, filed down to allow him to move around easier and fit his helmet securely and air tight.

Equipment:
Cykiss Industries “Mystic” Recon Armor: Developed in secret for the most part, for counter-operations and deep strike infiltrations, the Mystic series is used by Special Operations members and various high profile assassins, who primarily work solo on extended critical missions. It’s most obvious feature is the Mystic’s Reaction Control System (RCS), that allows for incredibly fast dodges and movement for short bursts, to close distances or avoid life threatening attacks.

Zamatti Corp. “Precision” Vibro-blade: Using tiny microscopic oscillations along the blade’s edge, the Precision has unprecedented piercing and cutting power against flesh and armor alike, considering it is not an energy based melee weapon.

Cykiss Industries “Poolta” Pinch Pistol: The Poolta is a specialized plasma pistol that uses hyper magnetic fields to ‘pinch’ the plasma projectile into a thin pellet as it leaves the weapon. This makes the shot much quieter and less visible while maintaining the lethality and effectiveness of standard plasma weaponry, though causing the weapon to deplete charge and overheat quicker.

[REDACTED] “Mirage” Thermal and Optical Dampener Gauntlet: The Mirage is another specialized Special Operations prototype that has been likened to a ‘rumor’ by the current Dirophyd administration. In reality, it bends light and other multi-spectrum rays to project a barrier that obscures whatever is behind it and mimic the background. However, the operator must remain still when using it or the barrier is overloaded and shuts off automatically. It is also vulnerable to electromagnetic radiation, and can be rendered useless by an observer moving to the flanks of the operator.

Skills/Abilities:
Opus’ Special Operations training makes him almost unprecedented in both hand to hand combat, as well as stealth and evasion operations learnt during his Advanced Tactics training. Combined with a visual sensor that can cycle between infra-red and normal visual modes and his modified Mystic armor, Opus is nearly unmatched in infiltration and assassination. To top it all off, Opus possesses some knowledge of bypassing security systems to mess with things such as doors, alarms and other minor electronic devices.

Background:
Most of Opus' file on his early life and early career has been deleted and changed numerous times, but most sources seem to point that at an early age, he had joined the Peacekeepers on the Dirophyd colonized world of Uptaiis III. Apparently, he excelled in most fields of his basic training, and was quickly transferred to Advanced Tactics training with SpecOps, after a short career in Colonial Security. Once training was complete, Opus was made a member of a Special Operations team, who went on to have several successful missions, sabotaging and assisting various parties in tasks from demolition and assassination to total government dissension for various clients, Dirophyd and otherwise.

At some point, however, the team undertook an assignment that, to this day, is still classified, more so than the others. Conspiracy theorists all agree it was called “Operation Veil”, but other than this single piece of information, the details are open to speculation. All that is known is that it involved Opus being critically injured and losing his ability to breathe independently, the death of his comrades and several SpecOps teams, not to mention an entire colony blasted into oblivion.

Records show that after this event is when Opus is referred to by this name, and little else is known or indicated. Currently, this enigmatic individual has been augmented with life saving cybernetics and prosthetic organs, and re assigned to an undisclosed Assembly unit, for what was termed “Rehabilitation” by higher ups. Due to his numerous secret assignments and strict training, Opus is calculating and efficient, and is very unapproachable at the best of times, coming off as aloof to most individuals. When in a good mood, Opus will act sarcastic but entertain some conversation.

I should probably have mentioned somewhere that cloaking technology does exist in a form that allows people and small vehicles to become invisible, though it does not usually work against all wavelengths of light, so the gauntlet would have that advantage.

Quick question for future reference, do energy swords/axes/meleeweapons of any sort exist? Thinking perhaps later game i might upgrade august to an energy based sword provided that technology exists

Depends on what you mean by energy based. Nothing made of pure energy, but there are energized melee weapons. My character has a blade with a microfusion cell that energizes the edge of the blade, allowing it to cut through most materials.

I am hammering down Telmeck and Luna's CSs, work and a few family events have delayed my work but I am not mostly free for the majority of today and tomorrrow so can get some serious work done if not all of it done.

Also that awkward moment when the other male Rothian has almost the exact same scale pattern as Telmeck. XP

Though I should ask, Commander, would Telmeck still have been transferred to the Assembly team after the events of the first mission? Or did you want to work out him joining in another way?
