I feel you on that point... I have had some rough issues with posting orders, but in some cases it is useful to have a basic one. My favorite is to wait for two posts or an hour. I only really have issues with not having posting orders if a set of people run away with the RP and a couple are left in the dust.

Yeah, posting orders sometimes work, and sometimes if they are enforced too strictly the RP dies because some people get impatient and lose interest. Or if someone has something going on that causes them to not be able to post, you run the risk of leaving people behind, which again causes RPs to die.

It's a common problem with RPs with a lot of people. A few of them can get trapped in dialogue, while everyone else is trying to move things along. Suddenly you have things all happening at the same time at different times of the "day" in the RP. Everyone gets confused and either does their own thing or simply leave and once again, the RP dies.

There has to be some sort of order that the GM can enforce.

Wow this got so much more attention than I believed it would but this is good! I'll have the OOC up as soon as I get on my computer (on my phone currently).

I see a lot of you discussing posting issues and concerns that revolve around activity. I have a few ideas how to fix this we can discuss in the OOC but for now if anyone has ideas I'd love to hear them. For now I'm thinking as long as people are dedicated and keep the intention to move forward individually there shouldn't be too many problems. I've noticed a lot of activity drops when people begin to rely on the GM alone to run the RP and give them purpose when players themselves should find something to drive them in continuing. Because this world is created to be so massively expansive everyone should feel comfortable in designing landscapes and settings, creating characters and stories as we go along. I also think if we don't get too caught up in the little things we could easily establish a story and get the RP going. I don't like the idea of a posting order because as you might tell I'm all about the individual and not having to be in control of everything. What do you guys think?

Also what characters, if any, do you guys think you might want to play? Are there pieces of technology or aspects of your character you feel need to be discussed? Say guns for instance, I imagine flintlock would be okay but others tend to enjoy pure sword & shield fantasy.

I do enjoy a pure sword & shield fantasy but since there are so many people interested, I would like to see some magic / low-tech for charrie variety.

As long as tech levels are around steampunk levels, guns could work. At least in my opinion.

Y-Yuuji also believes the problem of inactivity could be dealt with rather easily. Inactive players could be simply marked as inactive players.

A-After all people do stop showing interest in role play like they do to games. If a player were to stop being active, they could just be said to stopped logging on, and whatever problems they're absence might cause could be role played out.

How often would Ike-san like people to post?
