Vixen panted and shook in the corner of the room . Im not going down with out a fight' she though she let out a yell of anger as she swung her katana once more the blade turning to light. She caught her way to maktane and stood her back to him. She swung. At the creatures "take a rest i got this."she chuckled. She turned to kaito "you okay?" She called out to him her voice full of a new fighting spirit and slight concern

Maktane breathed heavily and looked around the room in a state of panic. Suddenly he spotted something in the corner of his eye, it was a small unnatural indent in the wall. He ran over to it and investigated it for a short time. He then punched the indention with his fist, the room opened up and the monsters all bursted apart. Maktane chuckled with both nervousness and relief, "I found the emergency switch..." He was still shaking and soon dropped to the floor past out from exhaustion and anxiety.

Kaito ran over to Maktane and lifted him up.
"That was great buddy but we should get back to the base camp and let them know about everything." he said looking over at Vixen.

Sora ran and helped kaito hold maktane up. She closed her eyes and slowly made her way out of the cave. As they entered the forest vixen fell to her knees panting and feeling sick. The world became blended and blurry. With out any warning the world went black.

Kaito knelt next to his two friends and tried to figure out what was going on. After a while he lifted them up and started carrying them toward the nearest town. Upon reaching the town Kaito, now drained physically, begins to slump and sag before finally collapsing on the ground exhausted and weak.

Maktane slowly rised, regaining consciousness. He looked around, the town they arrived in looked as if it was raided. Buildings were destroyed and abandoned, vender kiosks were ransacked, the only sighs of life were a few fires set up next to old makeshift shelters. Maktane turned to his companions and sat next to Vixen, running a hand through her hair gently and sighed with sadness. There was no one close that he could call for help and he would never leave the two laying her like this. He sighed again and stood up. Maktane picked up Kaito throwing him over his shoulder and gently set him up against a wall. He then slowly picked Vixen up bridal style and sat next to Kaito still holding Vixen in his arms. It's my fault we're in this situation, I should have never opened that chest! He looked at Vixen, I was too terrified to protect her...

After what seemed like hours Kaito woke only to see a shody town that was seemingly abandoned.
"What in the world happened last i remember I was running....and thats all I remember is the running to get Maktane and Vixen to safety." he said looking to see Maktane holding Vixen. "Speak of the devil and he shall appear." he adds with a weak smile.

Maktane laughed weakly, looking over at his now revived companion, "Well look who decided to return to the land of the living." He gave Kaito a slight smile and then returned his attention to Vixen. "I'm an idiot for putting you two in danger." He paused for a second, "I should have left the chest alone and we wouldn't be in this situation." He sighed he knew deep down it wasn't truly his fault, but he couldn't help but feel responsible for putting his only two friends in danger. His mind continually went back to the moment he opened the chest and reminded him of that sinking feeling, that feeling of lost hope or lack there of. "I hope she's okay." Maktane thought out load.

Kaito laughed and clutched his side in pain.
"Are you kidding I think she took out more of those things than we did shes probably just worn out." He said looking at the two of them still smiling.
"And hey for the record I would have opened the chest too." He added still half smiling.

Maktane sighed, "Yeah I guess you're right," He looked over at Kaito, "Yeah, I assumed you would have opened it.." He paused for a second to weakly laugh, "That's why I got to the chests first." He stuck his tongue out at him, and chuckled again.

Vixens eyes shot open as she looked up to see maktane carrying her. Sighing softly she leaned her head against his chest. "Maktane" she breathed softly letting her eyes find kaito she felt tears filling her gaze. "You both are alive..." she burried her head into maktanes chest trying to hide the. Tears that spilled out. Pulling back to look at them her eyes glistened in the moonlight

Maktane's eyes widened when he heard Vixen sat his name, he quickly looked down a large smile on his face, "Vixen!" He pulled her close and hugged her tightly, "I'm so glad you're still alive." He loosed his grip and looked at her a few tears ran down his check. Maktane looked over at Kaito, "Looks like we're all okay," He chuckled slightly, "That was quite the adventure," He was trying to lighten the mood, but his face was covered with sadness. He was thinking about the risk he took in opening the chest and what could have happened if he wasn't able to find that hidden switch.

Vixen laughed a bit at the comment. Thanks. Bit if i were dead you wouldnt even have a body..." ot was a morbid joke but it was the truth. She hugged maktane back and wiped the few tears away. "Everything is fine so please no more sad faces." She grinned and kissed his cheek. "So what now"

Maktane nodded slightly and chuckled under his breath, "Yeah, I guess you're right." He looked at Vixen smiling slightly. He leaned his back to the wall and continued to look at her, a look of peace washed over his face.

"Yeah, let g...." Maktane stopped as his eyes widened and his gaze landed on a man exiting one of the shelters, "B..brother?" He asked quietly as he started to walk toward the man.

"I agree food sounds great." He said with a grin reaching his arm out to help Maktane. As he walked past him he turned to look at the man walking from the shelter.

Vixen looked at maktane then kaito. as she bit her lip. She rose slowly and frowned moving closer she took maktanes hand in her own. Eyes becoming deep. "Maktane...." she breathed looking at the man.
