I live in the US, but I'm terrible at geography and have only been to New Orleans a couple times, most of what I know about it comes from crappy tours as the internet :)

It looks good to me, but there's just one thingI live in the UK and actually have barely any knowledge on the climate/geography of the united states or what buildings might be there. Fill me in anyone?

I'm from the US.

Louisiana is southern and near the Gulf of Mexico. It's hot there if its the summer, like 90 degrees+ most days. Also it might be a valuable piece of information that New Orleans is host to the country's biggest party every year, Mardi Gras. It's pretty much where everyone gets drunk in the streets and throws confetti everywhere and stuff like that. maybe we could say that the outbreak happened during Mardi Gras so that there's like remnants of a giant party everywhere?

No he's right. I was in Atlanta a few weeks ago and most days it was 95 degrees. On really bad days it hits 100.

They're using the retarded American measurements. You never get used to it.

Also here is my 2 second lesson on New Orleans

It's easily the most interesting city in the U.S. and has a weird culture that's a combination of both French and Redneck ,called Cajun. Like Holland, the city is below sea level, and the water is held back by a series of levies, which break down quickly if left unattended (and in fact, already have during Hurricane Katrina). It is surrounded by swamps, and is the center of American "Voodoo" culture.

Pretty cool place.

YES haha we're getting our units mixed up.

FOR THE RECORD 100 degrees in America is about 37 degrees in the UK. So it's hot, but you're not literally going to melt.

Now i have a question about the UK... but I might seem extremely ignorant.

Is The UK itself a country? Or a collection of countries? What about Great Britain? Isn't that made up of like Wales... and Ireland...? Please someone fill me in on how all that works.

Fixed that for you.

Also, being from Canada I think I actually would melt at 37.

The United Kingdom is made up of four countries (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). Great Britain is made up of the mainland countries (England, Scotland and Wales).

I'm glad everyone is excited, but I am afraid we won't be starting yet. I'm going to be very busy for the next two days with work, after which I'll have an entire week free, so I'll probably start the IC on Monday. I also told Penguin that I wouldn't start until he was back from holiday, which I think is either Sunday or Monday. In the meantime, feel free to ask questions of me about plans for the story, spitball your own plans with fellow players, and generally try to educate yourselves.

Being from Britain, and a one-time Historic Tour Guide, I can tell you that 'The British Isles' include the five countries; Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, England and Wales. The United Kingdom was created originally as a union of England and Scotland back in the 1600's when Scotland's King James VI, who was the closest living relative of Elizabeth I (who never married or had children), became King James I of England. It's also worth noting that, despite what many people believe, Queen Elizabeth II and the current royal family can trace their heritage directly back to King James I so technically... England is still ruled by the Scots.

And it's usually around this point that I bring up that I'm half Scottish and lord it over my English subjects.
