I wouldn't be afraid to toss out ideas, would be great if we can get as far as a second arc and who knows, you might have a real gem on your hands that we decide to try first. (Permitting everyone agrees of course)

I'll probably come round to the idea if everyone wants it but I kinda fancy a good 'ol fashioned Bleach RP, meaning we would play the Gotei 13. They coudl all be new, I have no problems omitting cannon characters but, I don't know, I just kind of prefer the idea of being in the Gotei 13 as a Captain more than a rebel who will be on the opposite side. This is just me being picky though. Just to reiterate we do not have to in any way shape or form use my old plot, just throwing it in the idea pool.

I am myself more fond of playing the Gotei 13 as well. Old school, for the win.Just, me being picky too, I never was able to get as immersed in the plot while canon characters were present. But I believe that is the least of our concerns, as we can easily opt out for an all fresh cast.

I'm with you guys, I find it makes the characters less scattered. But because there's the hierarchy, I find that a lot of people look to the GM to keep the story flowing alone - which is where the RP sort of dies. Not that you couldn't come up with a strong enough story, but when there's only one person working hard to keep the plot alive, it gets hard.

Reaper vs Reaper is good for the tiniest while, but then it needs to branch out, because as a lot of you said - it gets old.
But I'd be happy to sit on it for a couple of days and come up with ideas to toss out for future arcs.

Toss them out!

First...

Following the initial discovery of arrancars x amount of years(or centuries) ago, the twelfth division took an special interest in the research of the evolution of hollows. Exploring not just how they evolved, but also what factors led to certain evolutions, and the origins of hollows as an whole. It was during the process of investigating the latter, the specie's origin, that an 'new' type of hollow was discovered. One that had never evolved. This 'Alpha hollow' (pending better name) was theorized to be prehistoric, and was even believed by some to be the source of all hollows.

Thus, beneath the shadows of secrecy, the shinigami sought out this ancient being. Hoping it would be the key to eradicating the hollow plague once and for all. It was only following their success that they realized just how mistaken they were. As denizens of the soul society start to vanish by the troves, it soon becomes clear why this predator had never sought to change its form.

-

In a nutshell, they unearth an parasite-like hollow that is capable of infecting its prey with a venom that lingers in the infected, then repurposes their physical body functions after death. Morphing them into hive mind beings that seek to infect, then kill healthy beings as an means of spreading its influence.

The idea being that this would be an universal threat, opening up the possibility for players to introduce non-shinigami characters and/or frequently explore all relevant worlds. Hence why I intended it to be a sequel arc.
Second...

It happened suddenly. In one instantaneous flash, humanity vanished. Disappeared entirely. Homes, streets, even cloths lay empty scattered across the globe with their owners absent. Missing with no trace to be found.

It wasn't twenty-four hours later that the soul society received a massage. An ransom. Humanity's safe return, in exchange for their surrender, and their lives. Left with an unanswerable ultimatum, the reapers were parylized by indecision. Their society standing at the edge of collapse as they sought to fight among themselves in question of the right response. Then she arrived.

According to her, they called themselves the (name). Featureless beings as white as snow. When she inquired as to their answer, they threatened to cut her down. She threatened to wipe them out. And so waged the first battle. With her defeat, and her capture, they learned the truth. Learned of their world, a place once deemed to dangerous to ever attempt to reach. A place the shinigami would now wage a war. Hoping to save save not just themselves, but also humanity from a foe they knew little about.

-

This one is simple, but can be built into something complex. New race, new abilities, new world. Possibility for human (and fullbringers) as well as quincies to be tossed in.

Thoughts?

I like them both - there's a lot of potential for growth for the story as a whole in them.
There's a lot of room for change too - wrapping it around to suit previous arcs and perhaps entwine them if need be.

I agree with that hierarchy point, but I believe that's easier manageable than a lot of scattered characters :3

In my opinion, Reaper vs. Reaper is really good when it comes down to settling some rivalries or disputes that arose between PC's over the course of RP. Then Reaper vs. Reaper is, of course, good. But yeah, if R vs. R is a basis for the plot, then It would have to branch out at some point before getting old.

@Myst - ah, reminds me of a sorta Resident Evil-ish scheme with Plagas and other parasites (if you guys are familiar with RE universe). That's not a bad thing though, I love RE.

This kind of an arc would be good for introducing and adding stronger Arrancar/Espada antagonists to the fray, as they'd certainly want to have their hands on such powerful parasite. And it could be easy to link with the plot against Jacks - be it before or after it's resolved.

That said, the second one has potential to be linked as well, like Riddle said, and it's always good to have that sort of a plot in mind, in case we decide to go into that directions. Like you said, that's where potential lies to mold a completely new race with new abilities and of course, their home world.

I do like them both and was thinking. The general outlay of the RP would be something like (mind you, this is just a roughly sketched concept):

1. Introduction to the new era of Shinigami
2. Shinigami vs. Jacks, part 1; Revenge Arc
3. Shinigami vs. Jacks, part 2; Enter Nobunaga
4. Shinigami vs. Jacks, the end; The Silent Legacy
5. The Plaga Arc / Slenderman Arc

Add to all of that personal quarrels between PC's, their own ambitions and goals - and you get a nice general outlay.

Then again, I love RE, so I would't be complaining.

@Grim: I was thinking dead space honestly, but RE for the win. :)

I'm fully content with that plot layout though, assuming everyone is on agreement, I suppose its on to Character Sheets and an OOC?

I've had an idea. The first arc, which entails the Jakakumei reaping revenge for the imprisonment of Nobunaga is the mainstay. The ending of the first arc would involve the Jakakumei finding and releasing Nobunaga, then with this insanely powerful new leader they are more or less told to join him in an overthrow of the Gotei 13.

The Jakakumei are reluctant at first but think, why not? They took and imprisoned our captain for no reason and he deserves his revenge. So there is a time in which the Jakakumei and Gotei are at war all over the Seireitei, but as the fighting continues the Jakakumei and more prominently Nobunagas old luitenant start to notice that the love they hold for their old captain isn't mutual. He continues to use them as pawns in the war and sacrifices them as soon as it is a profitable move. This really unsettles the Jakakumei, their captain isn't the great man they once knew right at the end of the arc the head of the jacks and past leuitenant of Nobunaga goes in secret to the Gotei in an attempt to reach an agreement.

So starts the second arc and now the Jacks have seen the truth they join forces with the Gotei to take down Nobunaga together.

Now I also had the idea that all through the first arc the Jacks actually contact some Arancar to try and gain their help to rescue Nobunaga and once the Jacks abandon their old Captain, nobunaga himself returns to those Arrancar and has them fight for him against the joint forces of the Gotei and Jacks, but that seems a little to much like Aizen to me has, ordering round a group of Arrancar against the Gotei.

But what do you all think about it?

P.S I've probably made. Shit ton of mistakes in this post, but you will have to forgive me I'm using my phone.

Never played Dead Space, but you're right, parasites are featured there as well :D

Ever - I think that's great for the Jack arc. But yeah, if Nobunaga ends up only with Arrancar, that's going to be a lot like Aizen, although thinking about Nobunaga, he somehow seems much more bad-ass than Aizen.

Otherwise, I like it.

EDIT: Also, as we sort just those few details out, I'll be making an OOC - and also, I was thinking of putting no limit to the number of characters one can control. Unless you guys have a problem with that? I've been in a few RP's that limited it to one character and it ended up having very few PC's.

I don't mind. Personally I stick to one character sometimes two if players can play both sides.

One more question before I go to sleep (CM Punk reference anyone?) - so I can focus on sorting everything out tomorrow.

I am kind of split apart between Captain PC's or Captain NPC's. Since I was RPed in both systems and personally can't tell which one works better. There are some people that prefer that all Captain's are NPC, because it's easier to make 13 partially NPC's, than having four captains and a lot of vacant spots.

And there are other that like having PC captains, making it more fun to interact with another RPer.

Your take on this, guys?

That works for me, both the plot and character limit. I do think we should only allow players whom prove consistently active to play more than three characters though. So that if they vanish, we don't have to kill or redistribute a quarter of our cast or something similar.

Edit: I say both Grimm. In the last bleach rp I did, the Crew, GM and Co-Gms were the only ones allowed to fill the seats at the start. The rest were NPCs until a member of the cast had their PC earn the spot via their actions ic and the player's contribution to the RP. It worked out pretty good, seeing as the Crew used the positions to keep things focused IC, and the cast all tried to contribute to get their Lts or lower ranked characters promoted to the spot.

(Then RPG crashed :( )

I prefer PC Captains, hell, if I have to I'll just make up a few NPC's for the vacant spots and they can conveniently die in a house fire when someone wants to take on the role :P
I just think it's hard to keep all of the Captains NPCs. Especially when the captains will probably have a big part in the upcoming arcs.

I'm happy for no limit on characters, but I agree with MysT3CH, if someone isn't that active and have 5 characters, it'll be a disaster.

On a completely unrelated note,

Has anyone ever thought about how the writers of massive anime shows like Bleach come up with their content?
I so wouldn't be surprised if they stalked sites like this and just adapted the plots to fit the characters.
I don't know, just a random thought that popped into my head :P
