Now I must say this now seeing as how Fate/Kaleid Linear Prisma Ilya is now a thing, but that is not the Fate series, actually. I know many will probably know that, but best to clear it up now.

Now A quick explanation of what this will be.

The Holy Grail War is Kill-or-be-Killed battle between seven Magi chosen by the Holy Grail, a mystical object which can only be owned by one to grant its owner one wish, to be Masters. These Masters fight for ownership of the Grail. However the Masters are not alone in this fight. Each Master is given a Servant by the Grail. These servants must be summoned by the Master. The Grail does the rest. There is one servant from a set class. These classes are:

Saber - Knight of the Sword

Lancer - Knight of the Spear

Archer- Knight of the Bow

Rider - The Mounted Knight

Caster- The Magus

Assassin - The Silent Killer

Berserker - The Mad Warrior

Each Master summons one Heroic Spirit to be their Servants. Heroic Spirits are Heroes(or Villains) of Legend. It matters not if they actually existed, but that their are those who believed they have. The more well known the spirit, the more powerful the Servant. However, a Servant, no matter how powerful, will be at a great disadvantage if their enemy discovers their identity. If one know a Servants identity, they know their strengths and weaknesses. Even knowing the name of their weapon can lead to the discovery of a Servants Identity.

A Heroic Spirit is a being of legend. These legendary beings always have something in common: they all have a weapon equally as legendary. These are known as their Noble Phantasm. They are activated by their names. Normally a Noble Phantasm is a weapon. However, they are not limited to just that. They can be armor, a tome, an amulet. They do not even necessarily need to be a physical object. However, a Noble Phantasm is always connected to the Heroic Spirit as the weapon they used in their life time.
For those unfamiliar to the series, you will most likely not understand it all, so feel free to ask. Whats more is I have a Discussion Thread on possible ways to run this rp out, as it wont be the easiest to run. I will likely touch more on the explanation of Magi and the importance of Magi Families later, but it isn't a required part of this rp.

Ooooooooh, theres already one. Aw well! I shall leave this here and see what happens.

I am not 100% interested... For it would take allot of people to play this... There are 7 Masters and 7 Servants... So it would atleast take 14 peeps to join this aswell :)
But i am wondering how you would do this, for a fact that most hate when their character dies, and the plot about Fate/Stay Night is the fact that only one survives :/

Not... Exactly. Most Fate RPs I've seen have made it so that there's seven players, and each plays a Master and a Servant, although to make sure they're not RPing with themselves the entire time they have their Master paired with someone else's Servant and vice-versa. XD

Anyways... Tentatively interested I guess. I love Fate (and the Nasuverse in general really) but um we'll see how things turn out I guess.

Also, checking the discussion thing the OP linked, and... Minor nitpick buuut...

...Also have a friend who would probably be really interested in this but she's out right now so is it okay to reserve a tentative space for her for the moment? ^^;

Oh right, um, considering either Berserker, Assassin (because no-one ever seems to want to do those two) or Rider, but we'll see how things turn out. ^^;

Well said Rin. I originally planned for each player to play at least two characters. Now as i stated in the discussion thread, killing off characters seems like the biggest problem.

Perhaps the best way to go about doing this is either with a randomized system of sort, OR(and more preferably by me) everyone understands the importance of the killing of characters and will occasionally allow one to be killed... Actually that may not work so well...

After giving some thought, it may be better to have each set of Master and Servant be played by one person FOR THE BEGINNING. that way, if one of their characters dies then they are dead... Ish. We all know a masterless servant can form a contract with a servantless master, so as thing go along, and characters are killed off, it goes from single solo roleplay teams, to a mess of everyone with each other... That description didnt sound so great actually...

A randomised system is bad (as is making everyone play BOTH their characters), because it means you're basically rolling a die and saying "okay, regardless of logic, you're essentially being removed from the RP". Making someone play Servant AND Master assures that most of the time they're out of the RP entirely if they lose.

Why not just have a rule that you can get killed if you don't have an 'out' to a situation? Like a Command Seal to pull you out/boost you up, or an allied team close by, etc.

EDIT: Or hell, just make a Grail War where more than seven pairs can participate. So if our characters die we can just make more.

Um, if everyone makes a Master and a Servant I also don't think you should play both your Servant and their Master. I'm not sure what to do about character death but um, we ARE all in a Fate RP so isn't it just expected and agreed upon?

To be honest, when it comes to RPs with this general setup, I'm always willing to kill off my characters if it gets to a point where that's the most logical outcome. And I like to think we're all mature people here who won't moan if they end up in such a situation and don't want their character to be killed off, so yeah. XD

Hm... so its more like an "I am out of ideas and thus concede..." I think it would work, but I'd be a pain if someone kept pulling trump card after trump card out of their ass. Also it would be important that fight scenes be closely monitored. After all there are some things even a Servant can not escape from. That said it would invoke a great amount of strategy and imagination

Yes a very valid point. Even if Masters and servants can form contracts with other masters/servants. With that said, I say we discuss which Servant our master would be and which servant you would be playing

I personally don't care about the master, but I do know I'd like to play Berserker as the a Servant

No. If I count you and everyone else who has shown full interest that would make seven, so you are right on time.

Ayyy, best part of the war is when your character is brutally killed/torn out of the game.

I say it all works out in the end.

Also, Lanca/Ridah/Bahsahka here

Well, if Berserker is already taken, I'm going with either Assassin or Rider, but yeah.

...My idea for Rider is an original idea, but my idea for Assassin is... Actually a canon Servant if that's okay. None of the ones that have been animated, though, since... Well, not sure if we're supposed to be stating who our intended Servants will be or not so um. Hmmm.

I'll nab Archer/Assassin/Saber (if RainehDaze doesn't get it for her special idea) then.
