I updated the rules with some new things about overused character archetypes i.e. things that are just bad writing, meant to facilitate improvement as writers, and another rule about grammar and spelling correction. All this means is I will be grabbing the reins more tightly and will look at things with more scrutiny for the sake of quality and improvement. I'm sure nobody here would mind terribly if I just made a small polite correction anyway, since you all seem fairly reasonable. ヽ(´▽｀)ノ

I also made a help section to explain to those new to the roleplay that, since the world is of my creation, it is perfectly fine to ask me about it.

Usually bombshells have a negative connotation and that implies the utter destruction of all order via bombing. Are you sure you don't mean "I have a character that won't get out-of-character and doesn't have an overused backstory and won't strive to be the center around which the entire role-play revolves"? Because in that case, we are accepting.

Nah, it'd be difficult for her to get out of character. It's not in me to make a character I'm unable to play. Though I do warn you, she's quite the optimist and quite carefree. I understand the dark histories of this roleplay and respect them, but I'm sure a little cheeriness wouldn't do too much harm! Of course, still abiding by political, religious, and everything else's rules and whatnot.
And no she won't struggle to be the centre of attention pfft...not to worry, not to worry.
Though do keep me in check if ever it seems it!

Well, I mean our planet Earth has a pretty dark history and we're still up here partying... And there's no reason not to respect it and we still have cheeriness in Uldor, given the sunshine and rainbows of our introduction and surface happiness of most of the cast thus far.

Ah, I suppose it was lost on me, unfortunately. Yes, I blame my bad skimming ability and hastiness to want to apply as to not going through everything. Which I have now, yay! I do sincerely apologise if I sounded more than a little uppity, ahaha.
I meant no ill-will, really. And yeah, it's not like everyone has to be fixated to one religion or doesn't have their mortal flaws, right? Drinking and whatnot. Hell, I like how characters take it in their stride. It's quite becoming.

I'm not accepting you until I see the character sheet, please. Really there shouldn't be such frivolity surrounding something like this. Just make a character, and if it's acceptable, you'll be allowed in.

The term bombshell is a forerunner to the term "sex symbol" and originally used to describe popular female sex icons. Modern usage refers to a bombshell as an extremely sexually attractive woman. The Etymology Dictionary by Douglas Harper attests the usage of the term in this general meaning since 1942.

That being said, I can't wait til these thread really kicks off! I'm pretty pumped for this setting, and all the characters.

Well, using deduction, I don't assume he/she meant a bomb, since he/she said bombshell, and he/she didn't say shell, so it must be the first definition that actually reads as bombshell, and is a general figure of speech used to describe someone's character, or physical appearance.

I've always preferred that approach to plots, especially player driven ones. Players are so unpredictable, and having a plot made up somewhat on the fly keeps the GM interested as well.

BlackCat, I don't recall reading anything about your character having a penchant for stealing and thievery. Furthermore, when you said magic tricks, I thought you meant illusions and slight-of-hand movements with explanations, not outright witchcraft. If Arisu isn't capable of magic, how can she take a person's wallet without his noticing if he's right in front of her, he's watching her, and she cannot take his wallet with anything other than a physical, visible movement?

Yeah, reading that was kind of wonky. I didn't get really what she did, besides taking her cards and the wallets at the same time.

She did some serous distraction. She stood between the two with her deck in front of her and made them focus on the deck before reaching into their pockets and grabbing their money.

But... how does anyone act that fast with only one hand? Surely someone would notice in that split second, especially with so many people around. Moreover, who would be so incompetent as to miss a hand clearly reaching for their pouches, and then not check immediately after the trick to verify it? Either way, there's a little bit of power-play involved for something like that to happen, for she wouldn't be able to get out fast enough for a nearby guard to stop her, and even with a distraction, people still have enough peripheral vision to catch things happening in the corners of their eyes.

Like, it's still to some degree one of the lesser forms of godmodding and thus excusable, especially since it's being done to an NPC, but it's also necessary to make sure we have a logical timeline of events for the player characters there.
