Yes, you read right.

In order to restore your lost honour and regain your rightful place amongst your peers, you must sally forth and commit the sanctified ritual of Sudoku, a ritual which to date, no one has managed to complete. Once the deed is done, you shall have to venture forth from the dungeon of your lord, and search throughout the land, sky and sea for the four-and-fifty lost pieces of Sudoku.

Some are guarded by the liches, great men of the past whose codes of honour and loyalty tied them to this earth even after their bodies decayed and became dust. Some may be found cast into the bottom of the ocean, where the sand and dust and sea creatures has almost eroded their polished lustre of the purest cut orichalcum with their numerals bright and gleaming scarlet in the watery depths. Some may be found in shops, dusty antiques kept from merchant to merchant for the promise of gold. And it is your duty, young dishonoured one, to find and collect all four-and-fifty of them, and complete the ritual before the spectre of the King's Peace be upon you.

--

Long story short, a Samurai Clockpunk Action Rp set in the far east of madeupistan where you play a dishonoured warrrior, magician, or civil servant sent on a quest to recover Macguffins in a Clock Punk meets Samurai Jack style setting. Anyone interested in this idea?

Welcome aboard. Do you have any questions about how this setting works, any idea for what kind of character you're going to play?

Steampunk, but without the industrial revolution and more of an emphasis on gears and mechanisms. Most of the actual work is still being made by humans and horses (and undead workers, since necromancy is a thing but doesn't have the bad rep it has in our world)

Magic is pretty standard mechanically. Gesture at things and shoot fire at them because you're a wizard, 'arry.

In-universe, magicians are individuals touched by insanity who burn up their crazy ideas in order to fuel their magic. Some theorize that too much magic might set the universe off-balance, some think that its the mark of deities giving you their blessing, and yet more think that it's tied in some way to the four-and-fifty lost pieces of Sudoku. Magicians are loners, tend to not seek employment or governmental benefits, and their greatest weapon is always their minds. Necromancers, by contrast, tend to work in groups, live in cities, and lend their powers to the common cause. When you die, you can be assured that your friendly neighbourhood Mortician will preserve your body and soul for community service in a healthy and stimulating environment of manual labour. Necromancers tend to be social animals, work in a unionised guild, and their greatest weapon is their wit and charm.

Once we've got a decent number of players, eight or nine or so. We're five, and two more on the other thread right now, so two or three more and i'll put up the OOC.

I suppose I should officially add to the numbers here instead of pestering you on skype about proverbs that make no sense to a western audience due to the existence of salmon.
