No, it's against international law to claim any part of Antarctica as territory of a nation. There are research outposts, but they are not considered territory of the nation that operates them.

Of course, instead of just rebelling against a nation that claimed Antarctica, now the Antarctic Union is breaking international law that has held for over a hundred years (I think). Meh, it's 2070, the Antarctic Treaty might have just been forgotten. Along with basically everything else we have, including the Geneva Conventions.

Actually there were sovereign claims before and still are. The UK subscribed the Antarctic territory as one of its 14 oversea territories... Giving it the same status as area's like Gibraltar and the Falklands... Yet also signed the Antarctic treaty. In addition. I believe France integrated theirs into the same office used to administrate French islands, but also signed the treaty.

In other words, their claims are pretty much indistinguishable from their claims on various islands... But they also signed a treaty stating they are not sovereign lands.

If I remember correctly, either the Brits of Argies named their claim... Which overlaps with the other and resulted in tensions in addition to the stink about the Falklands being risen by Argentina again at the start of the 2010's, and it turned into a little bit of a territorial argument between UK and Argentina, as another side show to the Falklands... Cant really have a territory dispute if you don't own the land (Basically the Argies started whining about how it was unfair they lost in the 80's, and eventually shut back up again after the Falklands held a referendum where only 2 were against being Brits rofl)

The entire thing is a big political mess, and technically the UN collapsed and its treaties are void anyway, so its not unreasonable to think some might want their claims formalised (A nice huge chunk on the map fir for... And an isolated place to hide away those top secret projects)

Dark is right, Antarctica treaty prohibited New claims on Antartica but didn't remove ones already in place. So creating the Antarctic Union may make nations with claims on those angry.

Military: The military of the Empire is ran in 3 groups Army, Navy, and airforce. They have all of the American, Canadian, and Mexican types of guns, planes, boats, and tanks. They have mechs. They have 5 orbital space platforms, they are highly trained. They have 5 military satellites.

History:
The EoA wasn't founded until WW3 but the founded of it was put in swing during the 2020's when Canada asked to join America, which America accepted. After this they asked Mexico if they wanted to join to, which Mexico did not do. America threatened to go to war with Mexico saying that North America should be a united country but then WW3 struck. America chose the equivalent of the Allies while Mexico and the Central American countries chose the equivalent of the Axis. America started a full scale invasion on Mexico managing to Annex it within 3 years. After this America started to advance on Central America and they took every country in Central america within 5 years.

After they grabbed all of the countries around them, the president (A relative of George Washington) decided that America should be an empire. A civil war started between those who opposed the idea and those who accept it. The ones who Accept it one and the EoA was born, with the new capital being New Orleans, the state of Louisiana became the melting pot of the empire with the highest amount of different races.

Then WW4 struck, the EoA tried to stay peaceful but you know that since they are American it could not happen. They started fighting the Union of South America, which was not good. It was the unmovable object vs the unstoppable force, but no war can last forever, they signed a peace treaty right before Ww4 ended. Since then relations around earth have been pretty good.

History:
KoP was founded in 2015, they started there mass conquest of other countries during WW3, they started with Belarus. They moved in and managed got everything around the Belarusian capital. They asked Belarus if they surrendered, Belarus said no, Poland smashed Belarus. Ukraine saw this and they declared war on the KoP stating that the KoP was evil and they must be destroyed, sadly this failed. The KoP did the same thing to Ukraine as they did to Belarus, the conquered everything around the capital of Ukraine and they asked if they surrendered, Ukraine said no, and they also got destroyed. The KoP stopped there conquest for a while...

Until WW4, where they started attacking Lithuania, which was the easiest country to conquer out of the ones they did, They just went in, destroyed Lithuania, declared it part of the KoP and left. This made Russia mad, Russia forced Estonia and Latvia to go to war with KoP, which failed, insanely, Poland managed to destroy those 2 countries with relative ease. Soon after, when Russia was weak, Poland invaded. The took half of Russia before the real fighting started, both armies where battered and broken and the war lasted till after WW4 ended, but the KoP managed to win, and they officially annexed everything they just fought and conquered.
