Name: Eika
Age: Created 18 years ago.
Appearance:
Two sides ->
of one coin.Personality:
In order to contrast her rage, Eika's personality is actually a calm one. She is able to maintain her head in most situations -- until it comes to a point of her "Master", as she refers to Tomoe Akihiko, being harmed. Once his safety comes into play, she loses all pretense of her own well-being and her own desire to retain a calm persona and shifts into an increasingly angered persona until she shifts. When regarding new people, she's usually taking her time to gauge whether or not they'll hurt him, or seeing how he responds to him. If he doesn't like them, she's quick to get in the way. If he does? She can be courteous.
She does actually have two issues, regarding her state.
The first is a phobia known as "Athazagoraphobia". It is a fear of being left behind or abandoned, created from being kept in a cage for so long. Thus, she can be come easily angered or upset if Akihiko opts to forget she's around for him.
The second issue is her Berserker side. She's afraid of letting herself get to that point around other people because she does not want to hurt his friends. Thus, should she be forced to shift, she'll feel all too remorseful or disheartened when she returns to normal and communication won't be the best in terms of capacity.
Abilities:
Affinity: Perserverance- Perserverance is Eika's own, granting her Master a lowered maintenance cost to keep her going and allowing her to use any mana that is normally flowing through her body to heal her at an extended rate in order to enhance or alter her body's natural processes. Rather than needing rituals or runes, she simply converts this mana inside of her body to speed up or enhance natural processes. It's a self-helping Affinity as such.
Strength - As she was created originally to be a guardian of sorts, Eika's strength is far beyond the capacity of any human being's -- able to punch down concrete walls, stop trucks with her foot, etc.
Rage | I'M A MONSTER - Eika is classified as a "Berserker" or a "Rage" Familiar. The angrier she becomes, the harder she hits. If she reaches a point where she can no longer control her emotions or is overloaded by mana, her body shifts into its "Berserker" form, as seen in the second image above regarding her Appearance. She's twice as strong, twice as fast, and twice as durable -- at the cost of losing the ability to identify anyone other than Tomoe as friend or foe. Alone, she doesn't know when to stop, which can lead to excessive damage to her body until she's completely incapacitated and requires extended periods of rest or healing. Another method of enraging herself would involve wiping her own blood into her eyes to give her "Red Vision", essentially angering her in a similar manner that a bull is believed to be angered.
Parkour - Because she didn't want to lose her damn Master when he went running on top of buildings, she picked it up. Smashing through a wall like the Kool Aid Man doesn't help with everything, it turns out. She was a little disappointed to learn.
Weapons/Equipment:
Her Body - She a tank and a fighter. She's the one that goes on the frontline to keep Tomoe safe, reflex and pure force of will used to shrug off any pain that comes of it. In return for her lack of range-based abilities, she hits harder than a sixteen-wheeler. Her punches and kicks can hold enough force in them (or channeled mana) that she can actually hit hard enough to force air to become an added hit behind her attacks (essentially, making it so she could punch one person and have the force of it travel through two people behind that person).
"Pancangan" - The name of her oddly-shaped blade forged upon going Berserk. It's capable of slicing through metal in clean swings due to her strength, and she is able to use it single-handedly, despite its weight. Unless someone had her natural strength, they'd have to use both of their hands and still probably struggle to even lift it.
Demon Sense - The ability to sense when demons are around as if they were on a radar and pinging to her. She can track them down this way.
iPod - Bought for her by Tomoe. It's loaded with a bunch of songs (most classical, J-rock, or rap) as it's been shown that listening to it can calm her down. She's actually very protective of it, since it was a gift from him. Kept in a survivor series case to keep it from breaking during combat.
Brief Backstory:
Eika was created as a Familiar for a cult leader, originally. She was to be a symbol of strength and a sign of his ability to lead and guide his people. Unfortunately...It didn't go quite as planned. This man that created her did not understand the nature of his Familiar, and he kept her locked up like some sort of animal. The consistent drain of her Affinity trying to keep her calm made him sickly as a result, and it eventually came to a point where the cage she was kept in couldn't protect him and his people from the Monster within her. The overflow emotions that came running in as she watched his cult followers cursing her and treating her like a circus show day by day made her snap, breaking free as the other side took over and tore her cage in half. Within ten minutes, a cult of seventy people had been slaughtered with her own Master bleeding out in his bed.
Not quite thought out, on her end. But then again, she hadn't been thinking when she'd opted to start a murdering spree.
She fled the scene, realizing what had been done, and running to the nearest town she could find -- Kawa City. It was small...Small enough to try and resurge the belief she needed in her to keep herself from fading out of existence. So, as much as she didn't want to do it, she had to terrorize the town. No killings, no acts of bombs or anything of the like. ...Just...displays of her strength. Signs that something like her existed. It took a while, and the longer it took, the more of a drain it had on her body. It hurt to move, hurt to try, but...she forced her way through it, body feeding off of the small traces of mana that she'd manage to come across here and there. It was a painful life, that was a defnite.
Enter Tomoe Akihiko.
She'd noticed him. A mana source. A person like the man that had created her -- someone that could keep her alive. So she followed him out of curiosity -- and lucky him! -- she managed to come just in time to see a demon of sorts attacking his home. Parents not quite lucky enough to survive, she jumped in as it was about to kill the poor boy and offered him a deal while she held back the killer.
She'd save
his life if he'd promise to save
hers.
And he agreed. The willing donation of his mana surged through her body like an adrenaline injection, ceasing the pains she'd had for the past years of lurking through this town and allowing her to punch her way straight through the demon, dropping it to the ground and taking it out in a prompt manner.
That's when she began to explain to him what she was -- a Familiar. By accepting her offer, he promised to take her on as his own, keeping her alive and going in return for her protecting him no matter where it was he went. And with her own brand placed on his body, the deal was sealed, rendering her with a brand new life that didn't involve her trapped in a cage as a result. Thus, when he went to go to the organization known as Fu Sonzai no Genso, she followed right behind him.
