"Hey, kiddo, it's your Mom. I hope you and Dad are doing good. Remember the stories I told you about fighting warlords and evil sorcerers? Well, if you're getting this letter it means I went and fought one of those warlords and evil sorcerers..."

Your mom (or your dad, I suppose) was a hero! They would go to delve into dungeons and fight monsters, they traveled across the sea to stop evil warlords and their armies, and they found amazing treasures. They'd come home and tell you amazing stories about their adventures, and how one day they'd actually save the whole world. But then you got a letter. They died a hero's death, fighting against the baddest of the bad and defeating them. Unfortunately, the World Heart that supposedly kept order in the world in the Golden Age was scattered before it could be put back together. And to make it even worse, somebody else may have them now. And now they want you to find them. But... One kid can't do this alone, right? There were other heroes that used to adventure with your dad/mom, and their kids are saddled with the same job. Even with your dad/mom's gear, and even some of their powers, you're no hero. But damn it if you aren't going to train your hardest. Every hero starts somewhere, right?

And thus your journey begins. You and your new found companions are left to carry on your parent's legacy as a hero. You maybe be the daughter of a wise sorceress or the son of a righteous paladin, and it's your job to find the World Heart and put it back together... Eventually.

"Hey kiddo, it's your Dad. I know we're not exactly on talking terms, and I'm sorry about that whole thing with your girl friend and the raising her from the dead for my zombie army and everything, but I've got something I need you to do..."

Your dad (or your mom, I suppose) wasn't exactly the best parental figure that you could have. He never had much time to bond with you. No going to the market hand-in-hand to get a wooden sword so you can pretend to be an adventurer like the other kids. No stories of knights saving princesses from dragons. No tucking you into bed at night. He was too busy terrorizing the general populace and conquering kingdoms and raising the dead and summoning demons etcetera, etcetera. But then, you got a letter. As it turns out, they're dead now. And so were their archnemesises... Archnemeses? Archnemesi? You dunno (or maybe you do, you smart cookie you), but you've apparently been entrusted with a shard of the World Heart, some magical MacGuffin that you unfortunately have next to no information about, and their powers and belongings. And your mom/dad expects you to keep the damn thing safe. But you gotta wonder... Where are the other shards? As it turns out, there's a couple of other kids who's parents were pals with your mom/dad, and you've got a plan... You'll build a dungeon. All of you, together, as a team. It'll be a base of operations where you'll all keep the World Heart "safe" and yadda yadda yadda. It's what they would have wanted, and even if they weren't there for you all the time, they were your parent, right?

And thus your journey begins. You and your new found partners-in-evil are left to carry on in your parent's footsteps as a villain. You son of a powerful lich necromancer, or the daughter of a demon lord, and you have to keep the World Heart safe and sound out of the reach of greedy adventurers. That's what your parent would want... Right?

Name: Soren DarkStorm

Concept: Surprisingly Friendly Cyromancer

Role: Villain/Dungeon Keeper

Age: 16

Sex and Orientation: Male and likes the ladies. (Thinks he's a ladies man...)

Appearance: Soren

Personality: Soren is in fact pretty friendly for a villain. When he isn't freezing Heros solid he is often seen smiling and laughing. Easy to talk to and more than
willing to work as a team rather than solo. Is intensely interested in tactics and fortress building he is more than happy to spend his days building the ultimate dungeon.
Dislikes being to warm as he was raised in a cold climate. Also, his personality tends flip whenever his mother is insulted turning him into a heartless killer.

Background: After basically being abandoned by his mother who was an infamous Ice Mage he spent his days studying in the large tower his mother and him called home.
After studying he would often go to visit a near by town and play with other kids his age. Being naturally charming he easily made friends. Now that he knows his
mother is dead he has chosen to follow in her footsteps. For even if she was a cold and distant mother she still deeply cared for him and wanted what was best for him.

Skills: Excels at all types of ice based magic, though specifically in Ice construction. Being able to make anything from swords of ice to massive ice walls. What he
can't do is any fire magic and only the most basic of other normal spells.

Equipment: Basic magic robes, A tome of extremely high level ice magic spells, a medium length dagger with a silver blade, a bag he carries over one shoulder that he
uses to carry his things, and a gauntlet for his right hand and fore arm that his mother had made for him.

Parent: Shiveria DarkStorm the IceWind Cyromancer of the North. A cold, cruel and powerful women. Soren's relationship with her was very distant as she spent the majority
of her time on her work as a villain. However she did always send him money and things from dead heros and villages. Due to this Soren Idolized his mother and hopes
to follow in her footsteps as the greatest Cyromancer of all time.

Inheritance: Soren not only got the Shard from his mother, but with her letter and the Shard he also was given an extremely powerful tool his mother had spent her
entire life creating. The Gauntlet she was able to make out of Cold Steel was then infused with ice magic everyday of her life. Now almost twenty years later it looks
to be made entirely of ice. When Soren wears the gauntlet on his right arm his ice magic becomes much stronger and easier to wield allowing him to use very little magic
to make things such as an ice sword or a small storm of ice shards, where as larger spells are simply faster and easier to cast.

Notes: Carries a large bag of hard candies and often hands them out to others. Also, is often found whistling or humming as he works on his ice constructs.

Name: Shastity "Shasi" Lim
Concept: “Extremely Unlucky Psychic”
Role: Villain/Dungeon Keeper
Age: 17
Sex and Orientation: Male, asexual | homo-romantic.
Appearance:


Personality: Shy at first, but once more comfortable with a person or group he gets… testy, to say the least. He’s sarcastic, mostly uncaring, and entirely uninterested in anything that won’t lead him to his goals in life… or to a fun time. He can easily be persuaded to join in on a group endeavour, but he won’t do anything involving others of his own accord. He doesn’t like to be alone, though he won’t seek out someone to be a confidante. He prefers the company of the cold-blooded--that is to say, his pet salamander.

Background: He saw his mother once a year at most, twice when things were going well. She was too busy making heads explode to visit him any time other than on his birthday (or more often, a few weeks after his birthday). He lived with his aunt, his father having long been absent from his life. His mother would tell him, once or twice, that she was just ‘too busy’ for a man, but that didn’t answer the question of where his father had gone. He’s still waiting on an answer for that, actually, though he isn’t likely to get it from his mother.

He was never interested in doing much of anything other than exploring and reading, so when the opportunity came up to do something else, he wasn’t exactly sold on the idea. World heart? Dungeon? Why would he care? In the end, his aunt had to convince him to go, more for her sake than his. He was starting to drive her crazy with his constant comings and goings, coupled with the days he never left his room at all.

And so, after his aunt promised it would be a ‘character building opportunity’ and a ‘way to honor’ his mother’s memory, he reluctantly left to go assist in building a dungeon.

Skills: He calls himself a psychic, even though he can’t read minds. He can feel, more than anything, an event that is going to happen… but only in relation to himself and the person nearest to him. It’s that useless kind of ability. If he’s going to trip, he’ll feel the fall before he actually does fall--though this never prevents him from not falling. On the rare chance that he does get a vision of the future, it always has to do with a misfortune involving him, and he can never avoid it. If he focuses and is not interrupted by movement or sound, he can temporarily disable a person (or animal) by overloading their brain with sensations, though his opportunities to do this tend to be few and far between. He’s useless with weapons, though he can fight hand to hand in an incredibly scrappy, self-taught manner, having practiced with friends but never actually training or having been in a real fight. He’s not entirely helpless--after all, he isn’t dead yet, but he can’t say he’s anything other than below average when it comes to fighting.

Equipment: An old set of armor belonging to his mother, refitted for him, and a staff that doesn’t do much of anything, though he doesn’t know how to use it correctly. He’s been told to use it to ‘channel his powers through’, but has taken that to mean ‘concentrate really hard on the jewel and hope something happens’.

Parent: His mother was Valerie Lim, a centuries old wraith of the not-terribly-attractive sort. She would do anything for any amount of money, fueled more by a sense of adventure than any knowledge of economics. She wouldn’t call herself a villain, but the thousands of families with lost loved ones would beg to differ. Valerie made it a point to visit her son every year on his birthday, and they got along quite well. He loved his mother, in a detached sort of way, and she loved him in the same way. Her sister hoped a son would tie her down, but the promise of distant lands and exotic enemies proved to be more enticing than being a maternal figure.

Inheritance: Vague psychic powers, and a suit of armor. He’s not terribly pleased with the armor--it’s been refitted for him, but it still looks exactly like it did when his mother once wore it. Still, he wears it to honor her memory… and because it was incredibly expensive, and waste not, want not.

Notes: His favorite color is blue, and his pet salamander is named Jia Li.

Name: Cedric Robin Cooper

Concept: “You must accept me as I am!”

Role: Villain/Dungeon Keeper

Appearance:

Personality: Robin may act calm and serious. One could almost think that ze has no feelings at all. That’s not really the case but others may see this only if they get Robin to talk about something ze has passionate feelings about. Otherwise, ze is pretty indifferent towards everything.

If you want Robin to start talking, say something, anything, about genders. You instantly get a firm passionate opinion about how this society revolves too much around genders. If you don’t manage to stop zir, ze may broaden the subject to prejudices in general. Robin thinks that people should be valued by their actions and words only. Ze isn’t really wrong about this, but tends to go overboard. Ze hides zir sex by wearing rather shapeless and covering clothing and using zir second name because it’s unisex, and gets instantly mad if someone dares to ask whether ze is a boy or a girl because “can’t see why it matters”.

Robin is almost obsessed by the idea of being a person who ze is and being accepted as such. Ze wants to find a place where ze belongs and where is someone who loves zir. Obliviously, it’s not easy for you to find love if you’re asexual and don’t even reveal your sex, plus you act serious and somewhat distant and to the top of all, are pretty obvious to flirting because you think no one would be interested in you. Thus Robin often feels lonely and misunderstood. Ze dreams about changing the world to a place where ze would be accepted, though because of zir tendencies to go overboard, a world created by zir wouldn’t probably be that great place.

Robin absolutely loves fantasy books and about everything else which resembles it at all. Paranormal love and “Adventure-Horror” (I don’t know what stuff like Vampirates and Skulduggery Pleasant should be called) are close to zir hear as well.

Background:
Robin’s mother was always far away. She used to call zir once a month and that was pretty much all the connection they had. She never told Robin about zir father, even though ze started every call by asking it. They talked only about things like weather and boring news. Sometimes the mother mentioned something about some enemy she had defeated or a spell she had learned but never gave Robin a proper explanation about what she did. She rarely asked Robin about zir life. The fact that she didn’t know about ze being agender tells something.

Robin never had a firm home. Ze was handed from relatives to more distant relatives and their distant relatives, because everyone could keep zir only until ze found another place to stay. People ze lived with were usually nice but zir terms with them were always distant.

When Robin was small ze used to dream, that zir father was some sort of a king and ze wasn’t told zir heritage to keep zir safe. Ze knew that it was a foolish dream but couldn’t really come up with anything else, until one time when ze was talking with zir mother when ze was 13.
“Hi mom.”
“Hi Robin.”
“Mom, who my father is?”
“The weather has been nice there lately, hasn’t it?”
“Mom?”
“What Robin?”
“Could it be that you don’t know who my father is?”
There was a long silence and Robin knew ze was right. That was the last time they talked. The mother tried to call Robin every month until her death, but Robin never answered. A couple of days after her death Robin started to wonder why she hadn’t called zir yet in the current month. The next day ze got a letter which told that zir mother was dead and ze was supposed to keep some sort of a world shard safe.

Skills:
Robin can use magic with a wizard staff ze inherited from zir mother. Ze is able in rather powerful earth magic, but because one spell takes at least fifteen seconds, mostly more, it’s not very practical in fighting unless someone is protecting zir while ze does zir spell. Robin can also use magic to little practical things, like lighting up a fire, but ze is only learning things like that.

Robin rarely uses magic in fights. Instead ze uses knives, which ze sometimes throws at zir opponent. Robin has almost unnatural strength and speed and while not exceptional, good, aim. Zir Achille’s heel is defence. While ze can avoid attacks well, ze is moderately easy to hit when ze attacks because ze has no protection and unless ze takes risk and throws zir knife, ze needs to get rather close.

Equipment:
Robin has a wizard staff and five knives of different length. The shortest knife can be hidden in zir palm while the longest is almost like a sword.

Parent: Robin’s mother was an evil wizard. As told in background, Robin and zir mother barely knew each other. Ze knows nothing about zir father, except that ze may or may not have some elfin heritage (I can change this if there are no elves in this world or an offspring of an elf and a human is impossible), as Robin has some elfin-like features including zir speed, strength and slender body.

A staff from zir mother. It includes zir mother’s magic power, though Robin can’t yet use it properly.

Notes: Robin asks people to refer zir by pronoun ze. (Ze smiled, I met zir, zir dog, this is zirs, ze can do it zirself).

Name: Elise "Boa" Sternn

Concept: Twisted Military Hero

Role: "Hero"

Age: 16

Sex and Orientation: Female / Uncaring

Appearance: "Weakness is a cancerous growth which must be cut out. Let us start with you."

Personality: Domineering, cruel and ambitious are a good starting places for defining this rather off young girl. She believes wholly in the concept of 'survival of the fittest', showing little empathy for those who fall under the unfit category, but those who are strong and serve alongside her are allowed to see a more respectful and adoring Elise. When it comes to the involvement of innocents in her work, she has little qualms with it. By all means, this girl is a heroine in title and achievements alone, and not in her conduct. She combats monsters and 'villains', but her reasons for doing so are unknown. She definitely has a goal, but as to what that is remains anyone's guess. As is expected of a military girl, Elise thrives on order to an extreme degree. She demands neat and clean uniformity from all things in her belonging, including herself. She plans her days carefully, ensuring that no moment is wasted on nothing.

Even in the face of all these questionable and odd characteristics Elise does not make a poor leader, not in the slightest. She knows how to work a crowd and seemingly emits this swaying charisma that's hard to ignore at times, carried in the way she speaks, stands and looks at people.

Background: When your father is a lorded paladin-hero and a general who is expecting a great son and you're born a girl, you're already off to a bad start. Indeed, Elise faced only her fathers scrutiny and disappointment in the brief moments she saw him through out her early childhood, driving her to try and earn his approval, going even as far to try to be a boy in her younger years. She willingly entered a military academy as another attempt to please her father, only to receive nothing. It was not all for naught, as she discovered many of her talents in those Halcyon days, and found out many truths about herself.

One morning she woke up, stared at the ceiling and realised something; she absolutely despised her father and everything he stood for. The way he would protect the weak but ignore his own daughter, how he stood on the moral high ground willingly ignoring his own missteps - she would never become him. She needed not please him, nor change herself for him. When she received word of her fathers passing she did not mourn, but nor did she celebrate. Instead, she saw an opportunity to do something with the family name she was granted. She took off from the military with permission, on the basis that it was her 'fathers will that she deliver justice to the land' in his passing, starting with repairing the World Heart.

Skills: Elise has worked herself to the bone to be the best soldier she can be, and has the results to show for it. She's adept in unarmed close quarters combat, using her immense dexterity to make her a slippery target to lock on to, and as part of her inheritance her strength is without a doubt beyond human parameters. Her physical capabilities are impressive for a sixteen year old, but that's not where she truly shines. She's a thinker before all else - a tactical leader with an uncanny ability to think out simple yet stunningly effective plans and 'read' her enemy.

Equipment: Elise does not actually carry much on her person beyond her signature uniform, opting to carry a rather simple survival and medical kit with her in her travels - a long with appropriate expenses of course.

Parent: Mastrict Sternn - Paladin & Adored Hero. She hates the very idea of him.

Inheritance: Elise inherited a few things, but all of it is embodied in the magical Sternn Signet of Strength. The Signet is a family heirloom, passed down from parent to eldest child in the Sternn family for generations. Equipping the ring grants the wearer herculean strength and endurance, but that's not where Elise sees value. The ring allows her to access the resources of the somewhat affluent Sternn family and call upon any debts or favours owed to her father in his place.

Notes: tl;dr cruel hero girl with daddy issues, a complex and big dreams who could be as much of a villain as she is a hero. If the sheet is pushing the line, then I can tone it down no prob.

Personality: Fire Starter - Jonnie doesn't take things sitting down. She's pretty hot tempered although kind. She doesn't like tradition and she craves to be her own person. She's just not sure who that is yet. She can be a bit sarcastic but once someone gets to know her, she can be a very loyal and caring friend. She defends the people she loves to the end of the earth, even if it meant having a fist fight with the devil himself. She is very stubborn, however, and will continue to do the wrong thing several times before she realizes she can do it a different way. She doesn't take advice well, thinking that she, herself, is always right. She doesn't like being proven wrong and she has a bit of an authority problem.

Background: Jonnie's life hasn't exactly been easy. Her father always pushed for her to get more and more powerful. She just assumed it was because the poor b-stard wanted a son but got stuck with a hot headed daughter instead. Still, she dealt with it well enough. Though, it didn't much help that her mother wasn't always there to have her back. When she was, her mother was able to keep her father at bay but when Mommy wasn't home, Daddy took every opportunity to training the living daylights out of poor little Jonithra. He even went so far as to send her out into the tundra for an entire week to survive on her own. He told her it was to test the strength of her 'Life's Flame' whatever the hell that meant. Still, she survived although with a severe fear of the cold and most wet things. Water is generally a downer for her since she can't swim and it kind of leaves her at a disadvantage. The cold just brings back terrible memories of that time Daddy almost killed her. Not exactly fond childhood memories. Still, she kept her own and now she's free to do whatever the hell she pleases. Right?

Skills: Fire Starter - Jonnie is rather adept at casting fire magics. Pyromancy is her thing. She's hot headed and her skills match that. She knows how to use a sword but she also prefers to go in, fists blazing[literally]. She's not one for sitting things out but she has an intense fear of water and will not go near the stuff. It's hard enough drinking it!

Enchanted Armor; Enich

-This is a set of red armor given to her by her father. Well, her uncle gave it to her after her father's death but it was from him. What she didn't know was that when she put it on, it came to life. Well, sort of. It held a soul in it. Enich. He was once a demon that her father trapped into the family armor. Apparently, just before he died, he had the armor enchanted so that it would grow with her. Enich is an old spirit but likes to keep the form of a small boy. Jonnie often calls him a Loli because he enjoys his small child form more than what he should really look like.

Enich has the ability to form outside of the armor but he is in spirit form and therefore intangible. He can't do a whole lot considering how weak he is currently. But he's growing stronger so Jonnie needs to find a way to get stronger so that she can keep control over the armor because if he gets stronger than her, he can take control of her when she has the armor on and even when it's just laying dormant.
