Look on the bright side. It's physically impossible for them to violate the Monroe Doctrine. That's one less worry for you! :P

A couple questions.

How are leader deaths handled? Do we decide when we want our monarchs do to, or do they just at random? That said, what about assassinations? It's widely believed that the Empress Dowager Cixi and the Guangxu Emperor were assassinated, but how will that work in-game? Will that still happen, or can that be avoided (or hastened) if certain conditions are in place?

The next question is if the European Powers do supply the Beiyang Army, I would get an Equipment bonus, right? That said, how many of you actually did put something like that in your war order as per Yuan Shikai's request?

Usually assassinations and leader deaths are done through mini-updates. I think it just depends on the GM if certain events play out to where that leader will or won't get assassinated.

You would rather have William "The Gold Standard" McKinley as president over Theodore "Big Stick" Roosevelt? What's wrong with you?! Speaking of that, you have an election order this year. McKinley vs. William Jennings Bryan.

Teddy Roosevelt should have literally NEVER become President. It was never intended by the Republican Party. And I know! I want McKinley/Roosevelt to win, of course.

Yet another question, but what does it take to move up a tier? I intend to make this happen at some point. Maybe not now or even in twenty years, but the dragon will awaken.

Move up or move down is my question. Is it GM discretion?

Dutch said you could go up a tier simply by participating on the world stage. So by being active in international topics. But obviously, things like helping end wars, helping settle disputes, spreading your influence over a large area, ect will also help go up a tier. Sheer force will too. So if your nation can get what it wants through force, it'll go up a tier.

Basically, if your nation is viewed as being very important, you'll generally be higher on the scale.

Well are elections anything I have control over? Because my "election order" (basing off of what happens in the only other WiR I've played) is to have McKinley/Roosevelt win the election over Bryan/Stevenson.

Good question. Glad you asked. For natural deaths or deaths in accidents, I will stick with OTL times of death. Assassinations may be averted in case certain conditions aren't met. That said, Umberto I, Victoria, and McKinley are done for.

That's going to happen regardless since we haven't changed anything before 1900. However, your game decisions influence the following elections. That said, I'm shit at US history so don't expect the most fluent alternate history.

Except the election of 1900 happened in November of 1900, so it would be subject to change.
